The fight was over that much was certain and Vash himself also recognized that fact. He'd launch himself into the air transforming into a full phoenix allowing him to shower his opponent and his kin with the phoenix's healing factor. Maderas would gaze upon his arms as he felt the pain leaving his limbs. While slowly he could feel energy returning to his soul but his mind would take longer to repair, unfortunately. He and his family would listen to the words of Vash and afterwards eye one another, pondering if they could do such a thing. The thousands of drones would vanish as quickly as they appeared upon seeing the waving motion provided by their leader Maderas. Supported by his oldest son Valvatorez the man stood up despite his injuries. " Perhaps this is what father warned me about all those years ago..." Maderas said as his youngest children and his oldest one looked upon him in confusion.
"To think that the ability father once wielded was the same thing you've displayed today...I was such a naive fool."
"What are you talking about father?" - Valvatorez questioned.
"He always said defeat would make me stronger. But I just laughed at that notion...now I understand why your uncle left to see the world all those years ago..." He added referring to an unknown person.
"We have an uncle?" One of the youngest said.
"I'll explain later Taro."
"Red coat. I acknowledge my defeat today but I won't be the one to do what you envision for this place. My brother Krichevskoy is much more suited for such a job. He always showed much more promise but he left centuries ago to see the world and better himself in both mind and body. It is time for him to return home I dare say." Maderas said as he answered Vash.
From the arena, Gaston was moving closer to Maderas and his family and could hear clearly what was being discussed between Vash and the old lord. Huffing and puffing the older gentleman would part his own knowledge upon the family. " I can direct you towards the place he chose first, my lord. Your brother visited me right before he left, he wished to partake in whiskey before he departed you see."
"Hmph...sounds like him...very well. Inform me about later tonight."
"As you wish my liege," Gaston said with a bow recognizing that Maderas was starting to see things differently.
The rest of the family would join in as they supported their father back towards their mansion so he could rest and receive further treatment. The flames did most of the work but he still needed rest. Gaston, however, remained for a bit longer so he could make his parting words to Vash.
"I offer you my thanks lord Vash. You may have arrived here accidentally but I firmly believe lord Meliodas spirit guided you here. Only his dominant will and potential could make Maderas see reason while engaging an insurmountable foe."
"I hope we may see each other once more on this vast ocean. My bar shall always welcome you with open arms." Gaston said as he bowed towards Vash and took his leave as well after hearing Vash's reply.
With the arena now only left to Vash and his crew, the members would find two demon drones awaiting the pirate group. Supposedly they'd escort the men back towards the top of the ocean as this island was a bit of a maze without proper guidance. Especially when they weren't even aware of how they got here in the first place.
An odd journey it was on the island of Disgaea.
