Island Fishman Island

[Larsi]

10000 meters below thesurface and directly below holy land of Mariejois lies the ancient "island" Fishman Island. As its name suggests, it is almost entirely inhabited by fishfolk and merfolk.ruled over by the aging and kind King Neptune, it is mostly a peacuful place, though trouble is brewing in fishman district, as Hody Jones seeks to overthrow the king in an attempt to refuse any human access to the island.

# The Shaarib pirates accomplished their first mission and with the last issue of Morgan’s news, the winged-man was known worldwide. The government decided to call him : The Fallen Sky, why ? maybe because he was the only ranked officers having wings on his back. 350M on his head, Brannew did him dirty, it was all a Vice-Admiral was worth these days ? At least it was enough, Gan Fall has now full proof the kid he raised was alive but on the other side the old man Hassan might have been disappointed; he recalled the letter he received from the former Marine when he heard about Shaarib’s promotion as a Rear-Admiral. The priest didn’t raise a pirate but a proud marine. A shame Justice needed the skypiean on the other side. He was going to erase all of them, now pirates will be attracted to him, heck even Frayz might be interested now. Shaarib tried to gave the man some clues but he didn’t reached out. Shaarib knew they would meet soon, every pirate that wanted the throne couldn’t do it fighting parasites in Paradise. Only the New World mattered and it was why the ex-marine choose to go for Fishman Island. The island was reputed to be the door of the New World.

On papers the trip to the Ryugu Kingdom was going to be a breeze if you asked Shaarib. It just has been the opposite, nobody talked about diving in the dark for 8 km. For hours, they could barely see what was in front of them. Hopefully, their father was a pretty good pirate. With his Observation Haki he would indicate them where the monstrous fish were and when he was asleep or prying to his goddess, Troya as a right-hand would do the same. The moral of the crew was pretty much high. They were playing cards for most trip letting Genjo do all the work. The youngest of the crew had a stomachache during the fight with the Barto Club and couldn’t intervene so the others decided to punish him that way. The ex-Lieutenant was getting tired but like the goddess predicted, light saved them all. It took them a little minute to adjust to the light but as soon as they did they could admire how beautiful was the the island in that bubble. and as each of the subordinates went to change, « The Fallen Sky » appeared. Shaarib was already prepared, he gave up on the white cloak and just had a short and a blue Hawaiian shirt and a biscuit colored short. Like always, he had his round sunglasses on he had his marine cap on his head but did a little adjustment on it : He crossed with a pen the Marine symbol. At his foot were sandals. He was feeling nauseous but didn’t want the other to worry, it was abnormal for someone from the white sea to get this far under the surface. Around him stood his 4 guards, all under their white cloaks. Soon they will get to the door and It was going to be a trip his children will not forget. #

Very lucky were the few who could tell of the beauty all about the Sunlight Tree Eve, a colossal mangrove tree that dwarfs its brethren within the Sabaody Archipelago, it absorbs the sunlight from the surface of the world and carries it deep, deep, deep down to the dark ocean floor.
It was from this awe-inspiring tree's roots that sunlight flooded into the darkness, releasing gorgeous light for all of the sea-folk living away from the troubles of land. To this very day, the light shimmers brightly over the Ryugu Kingdom.

Resting 10,000 meters below sea level was the proud and glimmering Fishman Island, homeland of fishmen and merfolk. Fishman Island was held safely within an enormous double-layered bubble, protecting those inside and also allowing for those without gills to breathe air within their strange domain. Atop this large barrier rested another bubble housing the Ryugu Palace, the home of King Neptune and his royal children.

Light from the Sunlight Tree Eve danced and flickered through the small rising bubbles and shone itself upon the coated marine ship arriving at the ocean floor. The serpent figurehead upon the vessel glimmered and reflected the bright surroundings.

With all of the light flooding the scenery, it wasn't hard to notice six large shadows looming in the distance. Six large sea beasts moved smoothly through the aquatic landscape seemingly towards the marine ship, however when the sea beasts had positioned themselves between Fishman Island and Shaarib's Pirates they slowed to a halt and waited. The large figures loomed, guarding the entrance to the legendary underwater island from these would-be pirates.

Each one of the six hulking figures took on unique appearances based on terrestrial beings. On the back of each beast sat mysterious fishmen, it seemed that this underwater force was waiting for the marine ship to make a move. The shimmering light shone down on the large beasts ominously with the gorgeous Fishman Island now a step further from Shaarib and his crew.

# Shaarib did not predict this outcome. What was the point of evading all the sea monsters if their were waiting for him at the entry ? Now he had six monsters around his ship ready to crack the ship at any moment. How could sea monsters this big be in front of the island like that ? It looked like the fishmen didn't want outsiders on their island. As the figures approached, the light began to diminish and our hero gulped; Shaarib finally understood what was happening, now they were in the range of his mantra. Their were six people riding the beasts and if you add the fact that on the belly of some you could see what looked like the Sun Pirates Jolly Roger but unlike Arlong's crew, they had a figure that beheaded crossed at the middle of the sun. It was an ambush. The skypiean let out a snarl, he still had a score to settle with that shitty shark. Shaarib shook his head, he needed to handle this situation calmly. From where he was, he couldn't fight so he ordered L'Homme and Ren to put a bubble around his mighty figure for him to go outside without risking to die. He wanted the others to wait on the ship and Tok the direction of the island as soon as thing will go south. Te priest of the Goddess was blessed, he will survive either way.

All it took was a little push and Shaarib was propelled outside. Being inside this little bubble was weird, it mould itself pretty correctly around the pirate's body. The current driving his bubble towards his welcoming party. The dark skinned man began scratching his three days old beard all the while looking at the beasts their unique appearances made them more funny than scary. He clapped his hands and said with a warm smile :

- Aye Aye ! My name is Shaarib Hassan, you can call me Daddy-Sama, but first, I need to go through this surprise customs. My children to rest after this long trip.

The fishmen, waiting atop their aquatic monsters, watched patiently as the air-breathers prepared themselves for the confrontation. Upon the lion-like monster's mane stood a ginger-haired fishman.

This fishman, Hammond, was a slim Daggertooth pike conger fishman. The menacing fishman watched the Skypiean quietly as Shaarib approached.
His yellow skin proudly showed two rusty brown tattoos bearing the jolly rogers of the Arlong Pirates and the New Fish-Man Pirates. His cold eyes bore into Shaarib's head as bubbled man propelled himself closer.

- Aye Aye ! My name is Shaarib Hassan, you can call me Daddy-Sama, but first, I need to go through this surprise customs. My children to rest after this long trip.

The seafolk murmured amongst themselves for a moment. Hammond straightened himself up and looked at the delicately wrapped man.

"Never heard of ya'." Hammond jeered Shaarib with an accompanying dismissive hand-wave. "What are you, some kinda marine?"

Next to Hammond, atop the elephant-like creature was Kasagoba. Kasagoba was a marbled rockfish fishman; his pulled-back lips perfectly highlighting his threatening teeth. He chuckled dumbly at Hammond's remarks towards the outsiders.

Kasagoba clutched a pike firmly in his hands, fully ready to engage the air-breather, but still his silly smile rested on his clunky head.
Hammond flicked the brim of his hat up to get a better look at the spectacled intruder. He looked at Kasagoba and then pointed to Shaarib's wings while muttering to his ally.
They laughed together for a moment. Hammond smirked at the winged man.

Hammond's aggressive demeanor became very clear when he spoke once more.
"So, you were hoping to use our land as a little pit-stop for you and your friends, ey?" He smirked cockily.

The other five fishmen grumbled angrily at the thought of this remark.

# Shaarib knew he was going to be there for a long time when he saw the body of their leader. Shaarib wasn't educated enough to know every subspecies of fish but as a marine from the 169th he could recognize Arlong's tattoo everywhere. Harboring that tattoo meant he thought every Fishman was superior to the others races. For once, he needed to be able to negotiate and not punch everything. Even if they mocked him and his wings.

"Never heard of ya'." Hammond jeered Shaarib with an accompanying dismissive hand-wave. "What are you, some kinda marine?"

Shaarib gasped, was he looking like a Marine ? To tell the truth his ship was a stolen one but he changed the flags. Couldn't they see his Jolly Roger ? The winged-man smiled and began looking in his pockets, he was so proud of his fake bounty, he kept it on himself all the time. Shaarib took out his bounty poster, pointed at the amount and said :

- "I'm very popular on the surface..."and then, he put his hand at the side of his mouth to keep the things in confidentiality between the seafolks and him "but to tell the truth, I'm an undercover Marine" finished Shaarib while laughing

Shaarib's performance did not succeed because he saw one of the goons preparing himself to fight the winged-man. But then they began to laugh pointing at his wings. Shaarib let out a sigh. They was too confident and things were going to go south soon.

"So, you were hoping to use our land as a little pit-stop for you and your friends, ey?" He smirked cockily.

- " Me ? Naah, If it was for a pit-stop I would have never choose your wonderful island, I'm here as a tourist" he put again his hand at the side of his mouth and continued " More seriously, I'm here to take control of the island. But hush it's a secret. Will you let me pass now ? " finished Shaarib with a cocky smile but still looking at the guys in front of him. #

The varied fishmen watched from on top of their monstrous steeds. Hammond's beady brown eyes watched the Skypeian coldly.
As the foreigner spoke, the rallied New Fishman Pirates were seemingly growing restless.

"but to tell the truth, I'm an undercover Marine"

The remark seemed to alert the fishmen immediately, all but Kasagoba with his unchanging gleeful expression. Many of the pirates seemed ready to engage the intruder.

Hammond bitterly glared towards Shaarib while he cockily spoke.

" More seriously, I'm here to take control of the island. But hush it's a secret. Will you let me pass now ? "

The yellow fishman's sour expression lightened a bit while he rested his hand confidently on his wide-barreled gun.
"Well, why didn't you just say so?" He responded with a sharp smile.

"Our captain is looking for folks to help with just that."

The other sea-beast riders fingered the hilts of their respective weapons cautiously as they awaited Shaarib's response. The massive sea-monsters, on which they sat, watched the bubble-bound Skypeian just as a cat would watch a mouse.

# Shaarib raised an eyebrow. He did not suspect this outcome at all. So pirates wanted to overthrow Neptune ? They were confident enough that they could take out "The Knight of the Sea" ? Jimbei was the thorn in his sides, the man was strong enough for Shaarib to not be able to predict a possible outcome if they fought. But now, a new side appeared, a crew wanted to take control of the country like him. The Winged-man smiled and began again clapping his hands. The ex-marine wasn't dumb, he knew everyone affiliated with Arlong never considered the others races to be on the same level as they were. An alliance with them was doomed from the start, but it offered him a chance to control the island another way. If Shaarib could eradicate the menace before anything happens, the Ryugu Kingdom would owe him. Now all he needed to do was to go along with these wannabe pirates.

- "Ma ma and who is your captain, I want to meet him. But not now though, Like I said previously, my crew and I are tired and want some rest before doing anything. Y'all smarts. Y'all we know where to find only the winged-man on the island. It's not a things you could see everyday in the depths of the blue sea." Finished Shaarib spinning on himself for them to see his wings.

The fishmen watched with judgemental eyes as the confident Skypeian responded. Hammond poorly hid a sneer as Shaarib spoke:

"Ma ma and who is your captain, I want to meet him. But not now though, Like I said previously, my crew and I are tired and want some rest before doing anything-"

Hammond loosened his grip from his gun and raised his arms in a friendly manner, despite his permanent facial expression of hate.

"Surely you and your worn crew could rest at our hideout, if your plan is to sieze Fishman Island, you're gonna want to talk to the boss."
His head directed sharply towards Shaarib.

"-Y'all smarts. Y'all we know where to find only the winged-man on the island. It's not a things you could see everyday in the depths of the blue sea."

Hammond let loose bubbles from his nose as he sneered at the winged-human.

"My friend and I were just discussing that." He said gesturing his long arms towards Kasagoba. "I recognize those wings, we got somebody back at our spot like that-" Hammond finished smoothly.

Aside from Hammond and Kasagoba, the sea-beast riders had stern faces coldly locked on Shaarib or his ship.
"Shall I escort you and your crew to your friend?" Hammond inquired with a jagged smile, with the implication of there not being an option oozing from his calm voice.

His scaley yellow hand dropped back down to his weapon.

# Shaarib let out a deep sigh, them fishes didn’t want to let him go. If things kept going on like that, he was going to lash out. The winged-man could feel a vein popping out on his forehead. He slowly took out his glasses and did a face palm while massaging his temples with his right hand. He wasn’t going to listen to them anymore, that yellow Fishman was being disrespectful and the more he talked, the more murderous thought were appearing in Shaarib’s head. Suddenly, Shaarib lost his cool for a second, he heard a sweet information. Another Winged-Man was on the island ?

The pirate shook his head and put his glasses back on. He couldn’t trust any information coming from the seafolks. He had a crew to supervise and protect. He wanted to know more about that sky person but he had better things to do, at least for now. When he will take control of the island he will try to search for him or her. Shaarib looked at his welcoming party and again began clapping with his hands like before buy at each clap he let out some killing intent. #

Kasagoba's smile finally inverted perfectly into an intense frown as Shaarib's demeanor shifted. He understood the tone of the situation better than one would expect with such a silly face.
He clutched his spear tight in preparation.

Ma ma, like I said, I prefer meeting your boss later. If y’all want, y’all can follow but it will be never be the other way tho.

Hammond's eyes widened with shock as the arrogant winged-human finished.
He clutched his gun and brought it up to his shoulders.

"You don't get how it works down here, it seems." He hissed out. "If you don't want to cooperate I won't waste my time."

He lifted the gun up in line with Shaarib and released the loaded net from within, along with an explosion of bubbles.
The dark-green net swirled through the water with very little resistance, despite it's decrotive shells, and carved through towards Shaarib.

Spoiler: Fishman Net Shot

DPR: n/a| A Ryugu-style net made of kelp and wire that has the durability of steel. When fired from a compatible weapon it ensnares a target, slowing movement speed by 20 for 5 turns.

The other four riders, excluding Kasagoba and the elephant-like monster he rode upon, moved into position to prepare for a charge at the marine-style ship.

"You don't get how it works down here, it seems." He hissed out. "If you don't want to cooperate I won't waste my time."

# Shaarib couldn't show it but he was happy, very happy negotiating wasn't his forte. He had promised his men, he would try and he had failed. The yellow fish had already prepared himself to attack the marine. Around them, the circle began to get tighter as the others prepared themselves for a retaliation. The winged-man put his hands in the air trying to look panicked and scared but he couldn’t help but laugh.

The shot was fired and surprisingly it was no bullets but more of a net. Shaarib had two choices, he could look weak and get captured or trying to renegotiate things. The pirate got his whole left leg out of the bubble and did a vertical kick while shivering a little, the water was cold as hell. An semi circular air blade was created and went towards the net, cutting it and continuing towards the yellow fish with the full intent of killing him. If the leader was dead maybe they were going to listen to him a little, if not Shaarib was in deep trouble.#

The fishmen and their mounts hardly could see the sizzling projectile sent from Shaarib's leg. The very ocean surrounding the attack boiled away from the radiating heat as it disintegrated the incoming net and streaked into the colossal lion-like monster carrying Hammond.

The sea monster roared out in agony and threw its body around in pained convulsions.
Hammond on the back of the beast was not spared from the Rankyaku's wrath; the slash continued up through the steed and into the rider, throwing him off and sending him rolling through the water in a cloud of his own blood.

Unlike his mount, that had died nearly upon impact, Hammond suffered greatly. The vile Fishman clutched at his wound in distress. He cried out weakly with hateful yet incomprehensible words.

The readied fishmen ignored Hammond and charged on towards the ship. With angry cries, they prepared to ram the hull together.

Kasagoba, locked into a permanent frown, hurled his pike towards Shaarib, attempting to pop the bubble preventing the winged-man from being crushed and drowned.

The spear was thrown with alarming expertise, it spun quickly as it travelled from the back of his aquatic elephant and towards the invader.

DPR: B | Kasagoba hurls his pike into an opponent from a range in a spiraling "football" motion.
This attack disarms Kasagoba.

Soon too, the water surrounding Shaarib and Kasagoba would begin to cloud red from the geysers of blood erupting from the sinking "sealion".

# Shaarib was in deep trouble, being hot blooded didn’t help him at all, the plan backfired and the pirates decided to take their anger on his ship. He needed to catch up to them before anything happen. Surprisingly, only 4 beasts got past him. One stood in front of him as their leader and the animal he mounted bloods began to paint their surroundings in red. They wanted someone to keep him in one position while the others went for Naglfar. Shaarib wanted to laugh but it wasn’t the moment for it. He recognized the fish. It was the one who mocked his sublime wings. The ex-marine would have charged and killed his opponent but he hadn’t the time. The fishman threw a pike at him with all his might. The winged-man, got out of the bubble and caught the pike with his hands before letting it fall towards the depths. He was going to ran from this fight.

The skypiean needed to act fast now that he was out of his bubble, with his hands, he put the bubble on his hands and began running using Geppo towards the sea men. The punks were going for the hull and not the bubble. Shaarib wasn’t going to make it so he cjose another solution, he was going to try to kill them. Leaving his right hand to keep the bubble intact for the travel, Shaarib with his left hand slashed the air from up to down. Creating 4 air bullets that took the sea-folks path while our Marine was pursuing them, hoping for a better outcome, slowly beginning to feel the pressure on his body.#

Kasagoba watched as his perfectly executed attack was dispatched effortlessly by his opponent. His dark pupils followed his sinking weapon, despite the fact his face remained wholely unchanged he was terrified.

He yanked the dark green reins attached to the sea-elephant. The beast pulled away and Kasagoba rushed away towards an area known to the seafolk as The Fishman District.

He rode on despite hearing his comrades yelping out, he needed to let Hody know what was happening...

The skilled Skypeian's bullets pierced cleanly into the unprepared fishmen, unlike before. The shimmering projectiles were nearly too quick for the surrounding water to react; let alone the beast riders.

Upon impact of the bullets the fishmen collectively went limp, leaving thin ribbons of blood curling through the ocean from their puncture wounds. As the riders died, the unmanned beasts clumsily charged into Shaarib's ship only mildly harming the ship, but releasing a bit of precious air from the bubble coating Naglfar.

The beasts all wildly swam off in different directions away from Fishman Island, leaving behind them five floating Fishman bodies and a miasmic cloud of sea-beast blood.

With Kasagoba nowhere to be seen the entrance to Fishman Island was clear (unlike the current surroundings of Shaarib's Pirates.

# Shaarib was relieved, his children were now safe and sound. His attacks worked and his assailants were now dead, their blood tainting slowly the water around with that scarlet color. The sea animals, frightened, ran in every direction. In their run, each of them hit his magnificent Naglfar, with each hit, the ship losing some air from his bubble. Our hero regained his bubble and looked back to see if the last pirate was still up for a fight now that his partners were dead. He acted like most would, he ran and Shaarib tried use his Mantra as a sonar to knew where was the Fishman now. He was too quick and Shaarib couldn't track him. The winged-man shrugged his shoulders and return to his ship. They needed to act before Arlong's children came after him. It took Shaarib two minutes to get back on the deck ready to be acclaimed by his children. The trust was something else, the ungrateful children were yelling. He cleared his throat once, twice, still not answers from them. Triggered, he kicked the closest to him, it was Genjo.

- " So while I was doing all that trying to save y'all from a certain death, y'all are fighting each other ?"
Troya, scratching his head advanced and said casually:
-" Don't worry captain, it was because l'Home and Ran didn't want to pay. they lost a bet, you see, poor soul Genjo and I said that it was going to end in a bloodbath but Ran and Troya trusted you and said you were going to get out of this without lifting a finger, they still don't now you that well."

A vein popped on Shaarib's forehead and when he began marching towards his subordinate, Troya added :

-"By the way Pop's, your new color is classy as hell" did he said while laughing and taking the helm direction.

Shaarib took out his glasses and looked at himself, his blue shirt was now red and his short got darker. Because of the blood his holiday outfit was now ruined. He took so much time trying to impress the Fishman population and now he needed to find another outfit. The captain turned his back to his soldiers and slowly walked to his quarters, trying to act like he didn't care.

- "Who will believe if I told them I got dirtier in this beautiful sea." and as our hero went for a quick shower, the ship began getting closer to the two gigantic door of the Ryugu Kingdom. #

As the unharmed ship sailed closer to the gates to Fishman Island, the two heavy doors slowly swung open outward.

Behind those doors rushed a bridge of water connecting the inner and outer bubble. This current rushed into a body of water contained within.

Beyond those doors, bright heavenly light poured down on the majestic underwater island. Awaiting Shaarib's arrival were two sailless ships pulled by giant ivory-white Oarfish.

The ornate ships floated patiently with a sense of dignity as the large gates swung open.

"What a shameful introduction to our kingdom." Muttered Prince Fukaboshi, a shark-merman and heir the Ryugu Kingdom, to his brother.

"I'm sure they won't mind- So-La-Ti-Do♪"
Responded his younger brother, Ryuboshi.
"If they travelled all the way down here, they've surely been in scraps like that before- Re-Mi♪"

Fukaboshi seemed unconvinced however, his stern face watched as Naglfar, and those on board, entered into the kingdom.

The large Oarfish began to move to intercept Shaarib's ship.

# Shaarib was whistling when he got back from his shower. The feeling of unease he had, completely disappeared. His wings never reacted well with sea-water. The salt always made his wings hitch and the Skypiean had too much pride to scratch them in front of everyone. One flap then another and that was it. They were dry but water drops went everywhere in the room. Something was odd, Naglfar wasn't moving anymore. Checking his surrounding, he saw that the main reason for that sudden stop was a giant fish. He trusted Troya to act accordingly at least to manage the situation until Shaarib was done with his prayer. He couldn't go past the dedicated altar without praying, the goddess will not like it. The dark-skinned man wore his new gear : A white coat with a blue collar and line cutting it diagonally with a dark t-shirt under it coupled with white pants and the previous pair of sandals he had. His hair grew a little bit since the last time he cut it, he was going to let it grow but it was another story for another time, thought the winged-man as he put his now pink cap on, he tried to wash the blood away but it didn't work so he had to go with it. The pirate got on his knees and said solemnly with his eyes closed :

- "Il n'y a aucune haine, seulement de la joie,
Car la déesse te protège
Héros de l'aurore, guérisseur des mondes."

Outside of his quarters were his quartets looking strangely at the ship, Ren on the far right was waiting for an order of the second in command. L'Homme was at helm while Genjo mood at the side of Troya. The sniper of the crew had opened his left eye to see more closely who was on the ship that cut their path. Naglfar was in a bad state after the travel and the hits from the fishs so the ship could give up at anytime. He didn't want his captain to worry about something else. Troya began walking towards the snake that served as a figure de proue. To began some parlay. He got his head, still under a hood and yelled :

- Who are you and what do you want from us ? Wasn't the welcoming party enough ? Our ship suffered enough. #
