It’s heavily implied that he got his head chopped off.At any rate, he shouldn’t have survived it,there’s no way unless Oven is complete trash
We don't see Pounds head flying around nor even his corpse.

Never forget One Piece is no bloody Seinen. And I don't see any negative Impact to the story with Pounds survival nor does it throw shade on Oven.

Oda just created another beautiful Happy End.

I mean Pound is lying almost dead on the tarte. Like @Rej mentioned Mancherry will come and heal him.

If all the good characters keep being brought back it’s like there are no stakes involved, no sense of real danger. If Oda retconns every sad moment then it’s just bad writing. There has to an amount of perceived risk involved and accompanying sadness when things don’t go our way or the loss of loved ones, or else there won’t be any real sense of victory and jubilation. The death of Pound served to infuse if but a modicum of a sense of danger from the BM pirates along with Pedro’s death, as things have otherwise really not worked out that well for them. Now that is taken away from them as well, strengthening the perception of them as the Big Mom crew, as Oven took so many Ls over the course of the arc, can’t he at least kill off one measly character?!

he should be dead if Oven as a character is going to have any credibility as a character. That is unless saved through means of some type of reviving df power or whatnot. I don’t want any pirates of the Caribbean shit though

Turning this sad moment into a Happy End is in my opinion good writing. Pounds death was completly meaningless since Chiffon didn't know who protected her.

Pound surviving gives this Moment more depths for the characters involved. Chiffon will find out that it was her das who was ready to give his Life to protect her. It will be a reunion with many tears.

My opinion far better then the old status quo.

One piece use to have traged pasts with many happy ends in the present time.

This is totally exxagerated. Its not like went all out against Pound, he just knocked him Out with a single strike and didn't care about if he survived or not. His focus was still to somehow mange to care about the cake. He had to inform others as fast as possible.

I almost forgot about Fukurokuju, he was mentioned alongside the Calamities with him giving a speech at the same time. That's some hype :pepehmm:

It’s certainly not exaggerated in the slightest! The reason why this moment of his “death” even mattered and was so impactful to begin with was exactly because he swung that weapon with deadly purpose, and Pound embracing death as a sacrifice to see his lineage continue: it was a sad moment but also a moment which venerated him as a character who otherwise didn't matter to anyone. The only one who truly felt his absence was little Pez, and that was really beautiful how he sacrificed his empty existence for the sake of continuing his legacy though him. Now it seems Pez cried for no reason, unless Oda brings up a viable explanation for how Pound rose from the dead

Oven who is supposed to be one of the big deal characters of yonko. Yeah he swung that blade not just to knock him off lol but wanted to kill him dead for real

It is. I mean that dude survived a night with Linlin and you expect him to die by a single strike of his stepson :sarcasticshottie:

I suppose so lol
Characters rarely die in One Piece. So always nipticking when a character survives is BS in my eyes. Look at Oven himself Sanji brook his neck and a huge laserbeam from Ichiji pierced through his chest. Afterwards Oben was still able to deal almost all Sun Pirates at once.
And no you pop up saying Oven is a joke cause through single strike of him his stepdad didn't die, only being halfdead?!?

Wanna also tell me Magellan is a joke cause Bonchan became new ruler of lvl 5.5 and didn't get killed through his rage? Thats One Piece, Will of P lives on!

To be honest most people didn't care that much for Pound and his "death". I really prefer the happy ending as Pound was not a wholesome character for me until his end at Tottoland. He couldn't meet Lola and haven't had much time with Charlotte and her baby as well. I felt quite sad there and hoped that he wouldn't die. I think now he will be more fullfilled and won't die as shade of a character, who gave up for the sake of his upsprings.:):sarcasticshottie:

Is Yamato the octopus we saw? :blobcoolthink

If Luffy finds him, does he get to fight a Calamity?

Robin! Nami! Robin! :catdying::catdying::catdying::catdying:

Wondering what will happen to Kanjuro and how Momo will escape once he somehow uses the knife to free himself

i am more interested in knowing who Kaido did baam..
Could always be a homie. Perhaps that's the life debt he owes Big Mom: Kaido wished for a son, so he willingly offered up a portion of his lifespan to be extracted and used in the creation of a homie he'd raise as his own child.

Why not sire a son the old fashioned way? Maybe he truly is the last of his kind as per popular theory -- the last living dragon.

Saw an interesting theory posted by Flying Panda that posits the reason Vegapunk was breeding dragons on Punk Hazard was because he was doing so at the behest of Kaido; an attempt to create a suitable natural vessel for his son's spirit. Panda would also speculate that Kaido's son actually died previously, his body being used to create Momo's devil fruit.

Alternatively, natural born dragon Yamato's on the verge of death -->Big Mom transfers his entire lifespan to create a homie --> Kaido somehow meets Vegapunk and convinces him to clone an appropriate body for his homie son?

Who the fuck knows.

That said, given some versions of Japanese folk hero Kintaro the Golden Boy aka Sakata Kintoki aka Kaidomaru portray him as the son of a dragon and a mountain hag, I could see Oda adapting this version of the tale by depicting Yamato as a gold statue homie or something.

Granted, one could argue that Sentomaru of the Marines already has the Kintaro reference covered...but then, there's a few oddities I noticed as he's concerned; (a)his name includes references that more align with an association with the Momotaro legend; (b) his name could also be translated as "Lead Boy," which makes me wonder if Oda isn't playing some other kinda game here. One thought that came to mind is that "Lead Boy" Sentomaru's might go a figurative alchemic transformation into a true "golden boy" by inheriting Sengoku's Daibotsu devil fruit as point because PLOT REASONS, but I'm getting ahead of myself here.

Consider too that Tama's abilities fall more in line with the character of Momotaro that his One Piece stand-in Momonosuke, and you get the sense that something funny's going on. Given Oden's own Herculean allusions as embodied by the feats he pulled in his younger days, makes me wonder if Oda's playing mix and match with all these various figures and their identities.

Based on that, and Yamato's apparent disappearing act, I'mma take a shot in the dark and guess that Yamato's a fusion of both the legend of Kintaro/Kaidomaru and a demon with a very similar name -- Kidomaru, the son of famous oni Shutendoji; an oni child with a propensity of lying in ambush in to spring failed assaults on his father's slayer, legendary samurai Minamoto no Yorimitsu/Raiko, notably once doing so while hiding in a latrine and later while disguised within a cows' hide.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidōmaru

If Kaido's suicidal tendencies are born in some part from self-loathing or legit desire to die, it'd be interesting to see a homie crafted from his soul embodying this aspect of his personality and hate his "father" in turn, repeatedly to stalk him and kill him in a manner echoing Ace and Whitebeard's relationship in the early days.

Anyways, just tossing some fun ideas around. Again, who knows; next thing we know, Oda will reveal Yamato's a regular dude with a human baby mama or whatever.

it proven Oven is a true man, and he didn't kill the father figure of his sisters :pandaawn:
No he did try to kill him, there was even blood on his sword. Pound somehow managed to survive, but probably got badly injured.

To create a viral One Piece hit one only needs to replace the heads of the Bee Gees to the heads of Pound, Pell and Bon Chan!
:pepethinking:
