So Soba suffering, and getting killed in the flashback, was suppose to build luffy character-(he is alive-and continues to bring more plot to the story because what happen to him. (people still pissed he alive)
Pound-suffered and banished, can't even hold his two born baby daughters, who don't even know he exist. (suffering in solitude)
Goes out with a farewell smile helping save his daughter chiffon who does not know he alive. Accepts his death.
People, at this point when these death happen say it bring story to characters/story being emotional/feels
and when denied, and the character survive they literaly loose their minds, and say no he has to die so i can feel impact from his death scene and suffering. (like damnnnnnnn that is horrible..kinda sick like saying story is shit and can't be written well if there alive)
Then we got Kuma, who currently in perm amnesiac state. and continue to suffer all thx to vegapunk/wg.
But lol people want their feels/death to feel impact.
Imo, beside buggy,shanks who know raftel. So does Oden. (so unless buggy comes and give luffy info) Or maybe Oden, who was waiting for the man roger was waiting for, aka luffy..... (yeah there is no plot of course lol)
being locked 20 years (assume, the fuck i know happen in those 20 years, what if kaido let him explore/go out? confident yamato won't run away??)
Anways, if it is oden. I don't see it cheapen the story. Imo the over used plot of flashback/deaths is over kill,meh.
The direction with sabo,pound and now possible oden hinted alive is better. (because more story,plot)

how can people think yamato is oden just from his style of clothes...
even his moves and weapon is the same as kaidou's too....its obviously kaidou's son....

It cheapens the story. That's cheap. So...back then, Kaido mentioned that he wants to announce something important regarding Yamato.
Some of us assumed that he would marry Yamato with one of BM's daughter, mostly as a symbol of their alliance.
But the possibility of Oden being Yamato changes everything. And we have so many things that support the idea (besides his appearance):
- From Kaido's personality & potrayal, I've always find it weird for him to actually have a family in the first place.
- Oden should be 59 years old now if he's still alive, and Yamato has white hair.
- Regarding to Yamato's tall & slim appearance, it's a possibility that Oden underwent drastic transformation over the years, like Hyogoro.
He's no longer muscular, and his current abilities are probably far below his prime. Otherwise, he would've murdered Ulti on the spot.

In short: Cause of his brutality bahaviour Yamato was send to on outlaw region by his father. Yamato civiliated that outlaw region end up becoming new emperor of Japan. On top of that Amne No Habakiri was given to Oden, the holy sword which Susanoo used to kill Yamato No Orochi.

This is Kaido we are talking about. If he wanted to he could hire Pudding's services from Big Mom to retrieve the memories he needs. If it was something not as important as getting to Laugh Tale I could see him waiting. But since Oden is directly related to Laugh Tale, Kaido wants the information by any means necessary. At least that's how it looks so far to me.

if oda make this yamato from those history, the only possible outcome is yamato was indeed kaidou son, but its kaidou karma and become his ironical downfall, that his own son, inherited oden's will (maybe he learns the truth of wano from someone or he found oden's journal) is the one who destroy his plan...
talking about oden's journal too....if oden is alive....the story about oden's habit too write everything that happened to him and the existing of the journal itself....is just pointless...
the journal exist...because the person who make it is dead...that's why its become important....

This wouldn't make any sense. First of all it is Kaidou who has dept not vice versa. And yes it is about Laugh Tale which means Kaidou wouldn't risk that BM would have gotten before him and BM wouldn't have given Kaidou a service that he can become Pirate King.
We are talking about Big Mom and Kaidous, 2 Emperors in a cold war who both want to reach Laugh Tale to become the one and only King.
I don't blame anyone not directly jumping on the Oden is alive train. I mean this theory was there in the past with Oden or Sukiyaki being the Udon prisoner.
But right now thinking Yamato being Oden is reasonable and not just wishful thinking.
For now we have:
- Yamato looking like Oden. Besides the obvious hints of the clothes also body shape fits and also the shape of the mask perfectly fits with the shape of Odens face.
- Oden was portrayed as invincible Beast same as Big Mom and Kaidou or even WB(look back what was needed to kill an i'll and old WB). Oden surviving headshot is possible (we never saw the wound or the corpse). And also an amnesia plot after a headshot would be reasonable.
And there are hints. Like I already mentioned storywise Oden resemblee the Yamato of japanese History/Mythology -> the Name Yamato is already a hint for Yamato being Oden.
Another one would be that in chapter 966 Oden resembled Sabo and Whitebeard resembled Ace.
It looked like Sabo died in the past, Ace died pre TS and Sabo returned post TS. Now exchange!

Oden surviving wouldn't have Change anything especially not if he lost his memories. And Oden being alive would definetly have become a secret.
Even if Oden/Yamato started to remember stuff he would still think his allies and friends either died or we're send to the future and that would have to wait 20 years to change stuff. He revealing himself could have made things worse in that situation.
Also for the future plot it makes sense. If Yamato remembers being Oden he could teach Momo like his father teached him. And of course he would become the new Shogun. The last Point is also quite important, who else should become Shogun of Wano after Orochi dies?

@Nessos Of course there will be backstabbing between the 2 Yonko but they might be willing to work together to get to Laugh Tale and fight it out after they get there. Kaido and Big Mom seem to be holding this pattern of behavior.
This is just Oda playing with fans hopes that Oden will come back. Somehow Kaido's son is linked to Oden but we just don't know what yet. Reincarnation has yet be shown to exist in the One Piece world and analogous to other characters fates and lives have not been shown to be exact or even partially.
