It's not that likely, since Kiku is holding the blade (not her blade though, but it might be an inconsistency of Oda or she is carrying Kanjuros blade) as presented by her clothes and the way the sword is standing might not be looking as it got stabbed through her.. We also see her crying and if it really was Kiku, who got stabbed, Oda would draw her spitting blood or sth like that at least.

Wasn't referring to that but with war there should be tragedy as you can never save or keep someone alive and i want members of the scabbard to bite the dust.

Well we can tell already, that Neko and Inu are going to get near their limits using Sulong and I can also see the older Scabbards loosing limbs as well/dying, but Kiku is too young for that, contradicting the general scheme of OP, that the younger generation fullfill ideas and goals of the older gen. So for me it's more likely, that Izo dies or that he'll be in serious condition. Kiku might be a teacher (of samurai values) in the future imo as she/he is good in taking notes and very strict towards her goals. I'm also pretty sure, that now nearly all of the Oniwabanshu (idk how's exactly called) go under Luffy's side and that a huge turmoil is going to happen next chapter... I'd really like to speculate later, when the battlefield gets clearer, since BM and Kaido in the same room are pretty much unbeatable imo.

Same here which is why i'm pushing for Kanjuro to be brutally tortured and burned to death.

Or Kaido the Kurozumi Exterminator can kill Kanjuro too.

I think that chapter 987 can be the last chapter of the tired act of Wano which should end on big tragedy based on kabuki play structure, but I wonder what will happen. Could it be that someone from the alliance dies? Hoyagoro is a good candidate, he's old and wants to die in the battle, could it be that he heroically saves Momonoske while sacrificing his life just like Yasuie? And It will also give Luffy a good and strong motivation to defeat and possibly kill Kaido just like Yasuie's death motivated Zoro.

So this explains why Oda is making it an Emotional Chapter

Kikus sword is plain (also checked Udon), but the bloody sword end of 985 has wave patterns like Kawamatsus. Not saying it is Kawamatsus, it just doesn't look like Kikus sword.

I know many think someone is going to die.
Another option could be the start of the Yamato - Ace flashbak. Seeing Ace once again

Random plot twist theory:
Kanjuro is no traitor, but his acting capabilities fooled everyone in this war, including the readers.
He will die, but he will reveal the truth and give some crucial information to the Scabbards.

And he probably let himself get stabbed by Kiku on purpose.
Or to add more dramatic effect, Kanjuro would hold Kiku's blade, and do a seppuku using Kiku's blade.
He feels ashamed for fooling his ex-allies, and he considers this his last mission that gave his life purpose.
With that, he died as both Kozuki and an ally to the Scabbards.
