Descending in the room, the agent came to the end, or so he would believe. More olden architecture greeted him, finding yet more stairs in the godforsaken temple. How deep could this possibly go?! Or so the agent thought. The agent continued in his trek, coming down the stairs once more. This time, a depression led to a humongous rock to roll to him.

With quick thinking, the agent kicked ten times in the blink of an eye with a Soru. Using his boost of speed, Sun aimed to clear the stairs before the rock crushed him. With the danger past, Sun looked around, this room having more light, and saw the statutes of many. A dial led him to approach, raising a trap.

[Sun Wukong] “S-shit! CAT SPIN!”

In his mind-eye, Sun saw him getting hit by the arrows, actually hitting his body. He spun quickly, using knifes as the blades. This created a small tornado that covered his entire body, parrying the arrows. When it ended, a rocket came from above, and all Sun could do was lift his muddled hand.

The explosion rocked the area. When the smoke cleared, Sun could be seen panting, with two small cuts from the arrows that got through, and his skin sizzling. Thankfully, the mud armor acted as the last second to protect him. The agent was not deterred. The agent’s tail turned into mud, acting as a lasso to grab the dial in the water.

[Sun Wukong] “This isn’t going to work! Come out!”

Sun was ready for more. He would look around. If he caught a glimpse of Wiper, he would prepare. If not, after throughly investigating the room, the agent would follow the stairs down once more.

The trap triggered, the rolling stone was nothing in the face of the Agent’s prowess as Sun would dash out of safety through the stairs at incredible speed. Before the Agent would know it, he would land onto the base of the stairs, where the room opens up into the large hall, the boulder would follow suit, but due to the smaller room the boulder is rolling down from, it would hit the exit of the room and thus come into a dead stop. But for Sun, he would approach the dial in question – triggering a trap laid in waiting for him. Arrows were fired from the sides, and straight to Sun, but with his quick movements, a spin he made allowed him to turn the winds around him to form a barrier much like a tornado, parrying the arrows away. But he would not notice the incoming rocket until it seems to be too late, prompting him to block the attack through a mud-form hand.

BAM. The impact of the rocket rocked the area, dust and smoke arise from its slumber upon its rude awakening between two opponents as shockwave flung them into the air alongside the smoke provided by the gunpowder of the rocket. Sun, upon the clearing of the smoke has revealed to only slightly injured, perhaps a bit of burn and a few grazes – minor injuries. Sun would call out for Wiper, looking around cautiously. And perhaps to the surprise of Sun, Wiper appeared.

Jumping down from where he fired the rocket, he would come face to face with the Agent. His body completely removed of mud. But instead of attacking, Wiper threw away his rocket launcher towards the side – perhaps out of ammo? But instead of what Sun would likely to assume to be anything combative, Wiper finally asked Sun – a chance in conversation at least perhaps. Wiper did not seem to show any other signs of trying to do something else, but merely inquiring.

“You followed me all the way into the temple despite all the death traps and perhaps with no way back to the surface, does your motivations run that deep to end a man’s life? Or is your motivation lies in your greed for what’s within this temple?”

Find the bottom. The agent found the ruins deep. After mulling through death traps and gambits, he had survived to be able to track down Wiper. The man had appeared from his hole, without mud to hinder him. Sun turned to him, his eyes thinning as he observed the man throw aside his weapon. Did he want to talk. The man begun to talk.

The answer came quick in a Soru.

[Sun Wukong] “Shigan: OURREEEENNNN!!”

No hesitation. The agent saw his opportunity. In the blink of an eye, the agent appeared in front of Wiper. Flowing like a river, his right hand came forward in a barrage of Shigans, seeming to come many fingers at once. They aimed to riddle the man with holes. Each Shigan bore mud at the end, attempting to leave some inside the man’s body, even if shallowly. All vital spots would be the target.

Sun would pull back before responding.

[Sun Wukong] “My motivation is both. No one will interfere with completion of my mission!”

Wiper started to question the Agent’s motivation, even going as far as throwing away his weapon. This perhaps led to what seem to be an opportunity for Sun to take out the defenceless opponent as he would immediately go into the usage of Soru to close the distance between the both of them. However, that presumes that this opportunity isn’t purposefully given by Wiper. The man however, is fully well-aware of what the Agent can do, and he has seen what the Agent has done up till now. The room that Sun is in, is well booby-trapped though not of Wiper’s doing. Wiper jumping down by his position is intentional, him throwing his weapon creates an opportune time for the Agent. After all, for all the cold-blooded murders that the Agent has done thus far – the man either would talk or go for the strike. And predictably for the most part, the Agent did strike him.

Yet despite all the preparedness, the speed of Sun was incredible. That Wiper barely managed to catch on to the speed of his opponent. But soon the Agent would see the trap laid out for him. As the man closed in the distance, he would find the reaction from Wiper not enough to react fast enough to catch the movement within a split second – but the speed of Sun attacking however is slightly slower – thus his barrage of Shigans were much easier to see through. However, regardless of this the shigans would hit the body of Wiper, though the damage isn’t shallow – it has done quite enough of a number on Wiper. Yet Wiper would take the hit blood would spurt out of each hole that Sun managed to pierce. Death seems to be the result as Wiper seems to fall upon both knees. But it is not the end of Wiper yet. In that instance, perhaps of surprise that Wiper would attempt to stab Sun’s feet, his hand held on to a small broken piece of arrowhead – retrieve from his side pouch at an instant. The arrowhead, made with a small amount of seastone that the man would aim to incapacitate Sun. At the same time, Wiper’s feet would push back to the ground behind him, a depressed stone plate.

PHEEEW

Several spears from the remaining sides of the room would fire – this time like the arrows before some of them held metal heads made with traces of seastone whilst others do not. They aimed to pierce through the Agent. Should even the man attempt to catch the spears, Wiper would utilize his injured body to push the nearest spear with a palm thrust – aiming to break through Sun’s powers.

Wasting no time, Sun Wukong blitzed the man. With a series of attacks, Sun aimed to incapacitate the an, feeling flesh seared into his fingers, blood spiking out. Mud was left in every orifice, all inside his body. But it was a trap! The agent's bloodlust and rush to finish the mission put him in peril. As the man was on his feet, Wiper took an arrowhead, tipped in seastone, and stabbed Sun's foot. A depression came next, and Sun had to act fast - he was unable to use his powers, and was debilitated.

With an unnerving will, Sun's tail pushed the top of the arrowhead down as he pulled his foot up. Done with such force, Sun would tear his own foot to escape, forcing the arrowhead out of the other side.

[Sun Wukong] “YAHHHHHHHHH!!!!”
With that action, Sun was able to maneuver. He used Kami-e around where the arrows would hit. Floating like a gentle piece of paper, they whizzed by him. Some, however, the early ones, came before the technique, hit him cleanly, yet missing vital points.

Blood now all over him, the agent would do the same as the arrowhead, taking them off his body by force. When Wiper came with the thrust, Sun would swat it away. Bloody, and now good and wounded, Sun stared down Wiper.
[Sun Wukong] "Haa.... haaaa.... You are true warrior, my child. I will remember you as a man who fought to the end... and died a hero."

Respect for the man who had wounded Sun so. Yet now, the agent believed, it was over. No more tricks. No more gambits. Grunting with effort, Sun did a roundhouse kick at point-blank, creating a buzzing air blade thicker than the norm, blitzing with armament haki - the first time Sun used the blackened version. It would aim to cut through Wiper and send his body back against the wall.

Sun would take a knee, his foot in shambles, incapacitated.

[Sun Wukong] “RANKYAKU: HAKURAI!!!!!”

The trap is sprung; Sun’s impatience has put him in peril into the possibility of death. In all the pain that shot up from his foot, he screams in agonizing pain. Yet with all the pain the Agent managed to bite through the pain and quickly move to defend himself – he would sacrifice anything to survive, and with that he would pull his body apart, forcefully pressing down upon the arrowhead with his tail as he tear his foot away, pain completely increased tenfold. An incredible willpower of a man. Not many could possess that mental fortitude to tear their foot away with intense pain further building every second he tries to pull. Yet it is a one that the Agent must do in order to avoid the trap. With the foot teared apart the man would utilize the Rokushiki technique to avoid the spears. Yet the technique was not utilizing at the point where he would be able to avoid them completely, several spears pierced through Sun’s body but despite that most other spears are avoided, enough to avoid lethal injuries that would incapacitate him. Spears pierces through his body, but the man bite through pain after pain, pain intensified quickly for each spear the Agent pulled out. Wiper however, he is less durable than Sun – even with these spears piercing and incapacitating him, the Skypiean was still gasping for air as he tries to muster more strength, his plan to kill Sun he hoped to be successful. But then – words from Sun would surprise him.

“Wha- ARGHHH!”

Wiper could only take a single glance at the injured Sun before a powerful Rankyaku would hit him point blank, cutting through his stomach as Sun sends him through the thick concrete wall. Dust would be blasted out upon the impact of the force. A super effective hit. The Skypiean is essentially a normal person as far as normal goes – he does not have strong options to defend himself.

“Y-Y-You… Bastard…! Argh…! I-I... WILL DO WHAT IT TAKES TO KILL YOU!”

Wiper suddenly spoke - using energy to shout, perhaps to the surprise of the Agent. Yet similarly to the incapacitated Agent – the damage to Wiper is severe. His stomach was effectively cut open as blood heavily bleeds out of his wound where one could imagine even organs may start spilling out. Without treatment the man would eventually bleed out in minutes. But Wiper too have the willpower that the Agent possessed. Himself on both knees as he has to support his body with one hand on the ground whilst the other trying to slow the bleeding down and keeping his organs within the body. On Wiper’s part, fighting further is impossible – death would only await him without treatment, and it is not possible for Sun to treat him. But despite this, Wiper literally crawls like a snail towards the Agent – his remaining mental and physical strength, draining yet it would seem that Wiper would try to bring himself down and drag the Agent to the depths of Hell. No matter the cost.

The final curtain had been called. With cold calculating strategy, Wiper had forced Sun to sacrifice his foot. The wound, though Sun turned it to mud as to not bleed out, had forced Sun stoic. Sun Wukong would be hindered from now on - he could not run or move as fast. Wiper would fight until his last breath. The man, undeterred, fought against certain death and inched towards the agent.

Sun panted, his eyes wide in shock at Wiper’s indomitable will.

[Sun Wukong] “Tch! Does this land mean so much to you?! Enough!”

The agent slowly raised his right hand, pointing his index finger at the approaching man. In its tup, mud whirled mixed with Haki. Once the man got within a few feet, Sun pulled the trigger, figuratively. A high-speed piece of hardened mud shot out at great speeds, aiming for Wiper’s jugular from above. It aimed to finish the Skypian once and for all.

[Sun Wukong] “WATER GUN!”
Sun hoped to end the charade that went on far too long. If successful, the agent would take some time to recover, and look around. The agent remembered the downward stairs. That must be where the treasure would be, he thought. After ransacking Wiper’s body for items, and taking the second Burn Bazooka, the stairs is where he would go next.

A Sky Divided.

The Agent shocked by Wiper’s willpower, would see the man’s desperate attempts to crawl towards him – powerless unlike the Agent whom despite injuries still essentially maintain an invulnerability to most other things. Perhaps taken aback by the man’s willpower that the Agent would even ask a rhetorical question, it is of no questioning that Wiper’s desire to protect his homeland exceeds his expectations of him. This is of not much difference to the Agent’s will to finish his mission no matter the cost, there is only one difference, one holding to his pride as a man of a countrymen whilst the other held on to his pride as an Agent of Cipher Pol. With his fingers pointed at Wiper, Sun would go for the finishing kill, a mud bullet enveloped with Haki – aimed for the jugular. A single bullet would fire and pierce Wiper’s neck – a lethal shot. Yet despite what was a sure death, Wiper still managed to give his last words, though his voice has softened to near silence, a groggy voice as his throat and mouth filled with blood.

“Gr.. Y….ou… have…. N-n.. i-dea… w-w… yo… have….. d-do..-”

Wiper spoke, his facial expression while in agony and pain, gave perhaps the most rage-filled expression one may give prior to death. But with that the terror of the Skypiean is almost over. The man’s body stopped cold, not a single movement made as blood continues to fill the area around Wiper. With this, the Agent took his time to rest, to recover from the injuries Wiper has dealt to him. Like a grave robber, the Agent would ransack a corpse – retrieving several dials but rare enough to not be seen in Conis’s shop. Once he is done, the man would walk down the stairs from the middle structure – a spiral set of stairs, it did not take long for the man to reach what would be a different area. Another large cave-like system. And this time there is only an altar in front of him, up another set of stairs. Once the stairs are climb however, all that remains is to what he could see a small circular stone table in front of him, with perfectly equal lines across the table itself divided like a cake. But what is around him, are several small canals leading from underneath the table with animal head statuettes and around the table. Perhaps a closely guarded secret. The treasure is nowhere in sight.

The man epitomizing the Sky had fallen. To his last breath, the man never wavered. The agent had finally finished off the man and ventured deep into the temple. Disabled, Sun limped down to the next room. The path had been long, very long. Had he finally arrived to the bounty? Gedatsu promised there would be treasures, but the man just found more riddles.

More puzzles.

[Sun Wukong] “The altar. Perhaps that is the key.”

The agent went up the stairs, slowly. The man looked a his surroundings, taking them in. The animal statues stood out, along the indents in the room. Sun got to the altar, seeing the tablet in front of him, connected to the floor. Sun tried to figure it out. Perhaps he needed to do something.

The agent first tried to press the tablet. If it did not work, Sun took out his Flame Dial to see if the canals could be ignited. If that failed, he would take his Water Dial and tried to fill the canals. Perhaps the water opened a new area with the treasure. He had time to find out.

The Agent would inspect the room, more specifically around the altar. Like one to test everything out and leave no possibilities unchecked, Sun literally left no stones unturned. His perception of what to do was rather sharp. The key to unlocking whatever this is, is solving the piece of puzzle right in front of him. The man would first try out the obvious ones – checking the stone table itself. Attempting to interact with the table however, through physical strength would show to be of little use as the stone table remains unmoved in any way. The second attempt, this time to inspect the canals would prove to be a little more fruitful. Sun would attempt to lit anything that could possibly be in the canals. While there is nothing to be lit up, upon closer inspection of the canals – the indents are filled with dark reddish patches all around them. Should the Agent continue his attempt at the 3rd try, to use water to fill up the canals. He would find similar problems. The water would fill the canals up to the brim as likely done so by the Agent, but even with that – nothing changed.

Should the Agent continue to investigate the areas, skeletons – bones are found around the altar. While there are inscriptions, engravings and even letters around the altar itself presented on pillars and even the ground – without understanding the culture of the Skypieans, attempting to decode them would be useless. But there are enough clues it seems. With a little bit of deduction, the answer would likely be quite obvious. After all it is an altar.

The altar bore no fruit. Sun Wukong tried to use fire, water, and force to activate anything. To no avail. Sun Wukong went back and forth, trying to find something to press. He went through the skeletons and engravings. He tried the best to find and decode them, but could not. There was not much he knew about the land. The agent again took a Indian-style position, closing his eyes and meditating. It took some time but eventually, the man opened his eyes - he had an idea.

Sun Wukong approached the altar, the animal statues, and took two knees. The man bowed and flailed his arms, to "worship" the statutes. Let the gods come.

The Agent started to think, wondering what is needed to solve the mystery of the altar. Upon taking a position of meditation, the man started to think on what he needed to do. One idea came into his head. Since it is an altar, a place of worship – it would only seem to make sense that perhaps by worshipping the altar that something may happen. With it, the Agent would approach the altar, presumably centring himself into a proper worship as he went on both knees. A bow and then a flail of arms into the air. The Agent would ask for the Gods.

Seconds went by, then perhaps a minute or so. Nothing happened. The Agent was wrong. Nothing has changed. Sun has deduced that this is a place of worship, but he seemed to have misunderstood the type of worship going on or at least what is going on in this altar specifically. Bowing to the Gods aren’t the only type of worship ancient civilization has make use of in this case, and especially considering this is done underground one may realize the existence of the altar.

The altar did not move. Sun was on his knees. Suddenly. He looked up and around. His face was one of ehhhhhh. Comical. Thank god he was alone, for this was both embarrassing and ridiculous. He knew there were not gods. At least none that he had met. Sun Wukong flailed his arms in frustration, before whispering to himself.

[Sun Wukong] “This is stupid…”
With those words, the agent looked around once more. He slowly got to his feet and placed his hands on his chin. He began to think. Statutes, an altar, bones. Suddenly, he turned. The agent went back down, up the stairs, and out the room. It seemed he was frustrated. To hell with the treasure.

Yet it was not so. Sun came back shortly after, dragging Wiper’s body with him. The agent went up the altar, with difficulty because of his leg, and brought Wiper up and front. A sacrifice. Perhaps this is what the bones signified.

[Sun Wukong] “Sorry, old chap. This was not my first choice. As a fellow warrior, please accept my apologies.”

Those words were candid, true. Sun lowered his head as he took out a scalpel from his Mud body. Cutting Wiper’s jugular, the agent would spill his blood on the altar. It would run by troves, almost squeezing the blood out of him like an orange. The body and blood would be the sacrifice to the Sky gods.

The situation became an embarrassing one as Sun realized that nothing happened, a temporary comedic relief in times of danger. Yet he would give a sigh of relief upon knowing he is completely alone. Yet the Agent couldn’t believe that nothing has worked, in his frustration the Agent was about to completely given up on the treasure. He would think it about the significance about this altar even deeper. But eventually, the man left the altar – perhaps in further frustration. But eventually he would return this time with the corpse of Wiper in tow. The Agent has one more trick up his sleeve, or rather one more deduction he could possibly make. Perhaps… a sacrifice is needed. As he did so, he would drain Wiper’s remaining blood off the corpse through a surgical cut – and blood would spill into the altar and drip into the canals, filling it up.

At first, nothing happened. But after a short moment, with the canals and altar drenched in blood of a Skypiean, the altar started to rumble as the plates of the altar would retract inwards through the surface, sinking into the altar. The Agent has solved it. And for all his trouble the treasure would now be revealed.

A heavy metallic statue. One of a humanoid figure – slightly weathered away through the ages. There is no gold, nor any rare earth materials to find. But simply a carve off a metallic rock, likely even copper or bronze. With all the dangers of the treasure in the temple ruins and even risking severe injuries – all that has turn up is a humanoid statue. The significance of this, Sun is unlikely to understand. But no matter, his mission is complete. All that is to do is to return to the surface and return it to the God’s Army.

The agent had to do a morbid thing. He spilt Wiper’s blood, filling the paths of the altar. The man’s body hit the ground with a thud. There was no movement, until there was. The altar moved, the pieces moved, and the “treasure” would reveal itself. It was more temple junk, though Sun.

The Humandrill tried to open it, see if anything was inside. When he realized there was nothing, he would say to himself.

[Sun Wukong] “If this is what they want, it must have some value. None for me. Perhaps I can still get value for it.”
With that, the decision was done. Sun Wukong grabbed the contraption and swallowed it inside his body. Sun would intend to return it to the Bilkians for the reward.

What came next was grueling. The man went up the stairs and where he had come from. With a disabled leg, it took him more time than he was proud of, having to use hardened mud to help in walking. Eventually, though, he’s make his way back to the Bilkian camp with treasure in tow.

Sun Wukong would intend to find Gedatsu and present him with the statue, in exchange for the bounty.

Sun have no interest in the artefact, that is however of something that is rather obvious. The Agent does not have the context of Skypiean culture to understand its importance. Even if a Humandrill can copy the nuances of a Skypiean in everyday life, their history however is something that he would need to learn on his own, though given the perilous journey he had undertaken perhaps this might be anything but traumatic to ever return to. Despite this, the mission is done, the Agent would return back to the surface and back to the camp. When Sun would return to the surface, he would notice the sun setting down upon Skypiea – it has been a long while. And when he would return to the camp itself, the night is practically about to arrive.

When the Agent would return, he would find the Captain waiting for him – though the fact that only one man returning puts a surprise on his face for a moment. But perhaps the soldier has lost his life to a skirmish with their enemies, after all they knew that the temple is guarded pretty well by the Shandians. But upon his return, the Captain would eventually lead Sun to Gedatsu. But lo and behold, this time the Agent would not just find Gedatsu but also another figure: Councilman Genin, sitting opposite of a table drinking tea.

“(Ah! Welcome back! I trust you have the artefact with you?)”

Gedatsu would look upon Sun with bated breath, his face is one of anticipation. Whether or not Sun would read Gedatsu and guess what he is doing, Genin would finally speak.

“You need to speak Gedatsu. But no matter. I heard you are the one that brought my unconscious self here. You have done something unnecessary. Because of you our plans to ensure Councilman Rajiv is pinned into suspicion of assassinating the other two Councilman became a problem.”

Indeed, if Genin were to speak the truth, and is likely to do so considering all the secrecy has now been blown – then by having Genin be ‘dead’ it became impossible to come back effectively. Sun has ruined their original plans. But presumably Sun would have given the artefact to Gedatsu by this point, Genin would continue to speak.

“Despite having set the house on fire, it seems that became more difficult for us to achieve it. However, it seems you have returned with the artefact. Thanks to your effort, this statue will allow us to take control of Skypiea quickly. You have retrieved an artefact of great importance it allows us to utilize the ancient history of Skypiea to dethrone him, now we can plan to reinstate me as the God. Skypiea will be reunited once more.”

Despite Sun ruining the original plans, the artefact that Sun has acquired, its significance seems to have allowed Skypiea to be reunited, this time under the banners of God’s Army. Despite his efforts to divide the Sky into chaos, soon a new order for the Skypieans will now be upon them. Gedatsu would take away the statue, and in place he would hand over a bag of dials – as promised. With that, Genin would retrieve a nail and a hammer – with a powerful swing of the hammer he would destroy the statue though carefully enough not to hit the centre of the statue in a few swings, revealing a rainbow gemstone inside. Light but bright. With the gemstone in hand, Genin would finally slot it into a staff, perhaps another artefact.

“Now with the God’s Rock, and this staff. They will have no choice but to obey us. You have done us a great service. I hope these dials that Gedatsu give you would be enough of a compensation. If you would like to leave Skypiea without returning to Angel’s Island, you may ask the Captain for the secret passage, it will lead you out of Skypiea.”

Dividing the Sky! #52
@Sea

Trudging out of the temple, Sun Wukong exited with treasure in tow. He would not have any use for the artifact, but it was in high demand. Back through the forest, the man went through hell and water to get back. It was night by now, and the camp was finally in view. The captain led him to Gedatsu, and, much to is surprise, to Councilman Genin. It turned out he was the one who was behind the whole operation in the first place.

The CP9 agent went along with the farce once more. He gulped when the Councilman stated how he had exposed them, yet nodded when it was revealed the artifact more than made up for it. As negotiated, Sun would give the statute for the treasure trove of dials. Sun would collect them and shake Gedatsu's hand once more. The God Staff appeared.

Throwing the bag over his shoulder, Sun would respond.

[Sun Wukong] “It was good doing business with you. Good luck in your endeavors.”
[Sun Wukong] "Thank you for your offer. However, I will find my own way out. You understand. Men in my line of business trust no one."
With that statement, Sun nodded. He would not risk being taken to an unknown area with unknown people, particularly those that had a grudge against him. Sun would use that as the clear excuse. With that, the man departed. His path when he left the cam would seem to be in another path not Angel Island, to throw them off the scent. Evenutally, however, Sun would go t Angel Island.

At Angel Island, Sun Wukong would leave a letter to Conis. A later detailing Councilman Genin and his God Staff. Enough information to keep the Sky at fight.

The agent left Skypiea where he had returned. When he got in range of the Blue Sea, his den den sushi rang violently. There were dozens of message. Someone had attacked Enies Lobby.

A Trip to the Motherland
Part One: Jaya

The waves rocked the tiny little raft ever so gently, rocking Isao into a deep sleep. It was so peaceful that day that the ninja couldn’t help but doze off. He barely fit on the wooden structure, but when the ocean is your home, there was little to fear of drowning. He lay there with his arms behind his head and one leg folded over the other. The warmth of the sun felt like a fuzzy blanket upon Isao’s exposed chest. This is what life was supposed to be. At least that is what Isao had believed when he had started out on his adventure.
Selina, his mother, was a Skypian and a part of the Shandian people. She was a kind hearted woman who had told Isao many stories of her family’s homeland. Apparently they came from a land in the sky, but had been cast down from the sky by God, only to end up on New Jack Island. That story never made sense to Isao. If God existed, why did he strike down his mother’s people? How did they even end up in the sky to begin with? Selina had never elaborated in her stories, and Isao’s Father, Nino, never gave him enough time to figure it out since he preferred that Isao spend his time training as a shinobi.
Things were different now though. Isao was on his own path and he didn’t have to allow the weight of his Father’s existence to weigh on him anymore. This was his chance to embrace the stories and experiences of others. Hence why he decided he would learn of the history of his mother’s people on his own. He had done a bit of his own research and discovered that there was an Island called Jaya, where a certain weather event occurred. Apparently there was something called a “Knock up Stream”, which caused a powerful stream from the sea to shoot up into the sky. Isao figured that perhaps this would be a way for him to get up into the sky and find out if the stories his mother told him were true. Was it risky? Of course it was. This could possibly result in Isao finding nothing and falling down into the ocean below. The ocean is a fierce and unyielding place, and falling from the sky into the ocean would be like jumping from a mountain down to the hard ground below. This was not an issue for Isao though. In fact, it hadn’t even crossed his mind. The only thing he was thinking of was how much fun it would be if the sky really did have an island up there.
Isao was woken with a start as his raft struck land. The bump of the raft was enough to pull him out of his dreamland and he sat up with a start. “I AM BEING ATTACKED!!!” He screamed before getting a glimpse of his surroundings. Before him was a looming forest of green trees. His hollowed out tree trunk raft bobbed lightly against the grassy knot of land. A quizzical look appeared on the Fishman’s face as he scanned the coast line. “Eh? What is with this Island? Why is there no sand or anything?” He inquired to himself as he stood up and dusted himself off. Stretching a little bit, he then hopped onto the soft grass. Finally he had reached land after almost a month at sea. His body seemed to sway as though he was still on water, his body having become accustomed to riding the waves. It was a welcome change to the monotony of blue as far as the eye could see.
Isao pulled the boat onto land, stowing it away in a patch of brush. The excitement of being in a new place sent electricity through the young man’s body, jolting him fully awake. A toothy grin spread from ear to ear as he began to change into his traditional ninja garb. Isao was fairly sure that he was going to find humans on an island like this and he didn’t want them to see his Fishman features. From what he was told, humans looked a lot like Skypians. They apparently didn’t have wings though. Considering the stories he had heard from his Father, he didn’t want to run the risk of finding out if humans didn’t like Skypian’s either. He wrapped his wings tightly against his shoulder blades, taking care not to wrap too tightly that he would be uncomfortable. It was finally time to begin an adventure that was in the making since he had been a child. Once he was dressed, he stuffed his regular clothes in his satchel and jumped up into the trees.
The ninja bound silently from tree branch to tree branch, his arms limply trailing behind the rest of his body. He knew that in order to find out more about this knock up stream, he would need to find people. The forest was dense, but its trees were strong. The branches seemed to barely give resistance to his body as he jumped his way along. He was so high up from the ground, yet that didn’t seem to give Isao pause. The adrenaline from being in this new space completely encompassed his state of being. He was so hopped up on the adventure that it must have explained why the bugs that crawled about looked so big. It must have been all in his head. On the other hand, he couldn’t deny that the next sound he heard was not something that his brain could make up.

“JOOOHHH!!”

“What the hell was that sound?”

Part 1: Jaya

The world was as vast as it was full of intriguing things, creatures, phenomena, and legends. The most intriguing of legends revolved around the sky. After all, humans have a natural tendency to dream about flying. And so they would often wonder what was up there, above the white clouds. Many a legend had spawn from exploring such thoughts, but one that stuck around the most, was the existence of ''that''. An island in the sky. Supposedly some had seen it, and even reached it. But whether that was true or not was anyone's guess, as unlikely as it was. This legend of an island in the sky was particularly well known on a certain island in the Grand Line. An island called Jaya. Some inhabitants of Jaya were convinced that such an island in the sky did in fact exist. Yet others were fully convinced that something like that was impossible - to the point where those who believed in such things were ridiculous and to be made fun of.

Jaya was an island of green tropical forests. The habitat was profoundly good for animal and green life, causing trees to be strong, and animals to be big and powerful. Jaya was a lawless zone where many a pirate came to rest and stock up, but on this day, someone else made it to the island. A real life ninja in the world of pirates.

Isao found himself on Jaya, though he didn't know it. Fate had brought him here. A man hoping to explore his Skypiean heritage, hit the shores of Jaya - an island defined by its legend of the island in the sky.

As Isao traversed the lush forests, he would eventually make it to the only populated area of Jaya. Mock Town, a town brimming with pirate life. Bars and restaurants were abundant on every street, from which pirates were heard laughing, drinking and having the time of their lives. Some pirates bickered and fought on the streets, though it was all to be expected when pirates and booze were in the same place. The legend of Shinobi Isao and his past, begins now.

Some pirates bickered and fought on the streets, though it was all to be expected when pirates and booze were in the same place. The legend of Shinobi Isao and his past, begins now.

A Mosey Through Mock Town
Isao had become so distracted by the loud call of some mysterious being that He hadn't noticed that he jumped into the opening into Mock Town. He sailed through the air, looking behind him for whatever possible threat may have appeared. Was that a bird or something? Isao would not have the chance to find out, as he slammed into the back of a building's wall. The impact caused Isao to leave an imprint of his body on the wall, but it didn't look like he quite broke through. Isao looked around, attempting to get his bearings. He was lucky that he was on the back side of the building. From what he could tell, no-one had seen his accident. Brushing himself off for the second time today, Isao casually made his way down the small alleyway into the main street. What he saw next was a jaw dropping experience for him.

Before the young man was a street full of humans. They really did look like Skypians without their wings. Some were offering services while some were simply walking up and down the street. He saw a pair of humans seeming to be arguing and getting ready to fight. Some watched on with intrigue, seeming to wonder what would happen next. Isao's hand would instinctively reach up to hide the gills that were on his traps, forgetting that he was in his shinobi suit. He was careful enough to ensure that he was well covered. The average person would be unable to tell that he was a Fishman. It would be best that way. Refocusing himself, he realized that his arrival here was perfect. It meant that He could get the information that he needed. Someone had to have the information on how to get to the sky. The Knock Up Stream was surely the only way to get to the sky.

Since he had seen that there were a number of people going into the Tavern, He figured it would be the best place to start. Walking though the street, he pushed the swinging doors aside and found himself in a large room with a number of humans sitting about. Some seemed to be carrying on, enjoying their drinks, while a few seemed to look Isao over as he entered the bar. Without much thought, Isao made his way to the bartender and slapped a hand on the table. He would be grinning underneath his mask, but there was no way to tell.

"Yo, I heard that there was something called a Knock Up Stream. I figured I could take it up into the sky to find out if there is land up there. Do you know where I can find one of those things?"
