Interesting thread to necro, tbh.
I would love to visit:
-
Ancient Sumeria, right in the beginning where people first settled in the first city in the world.. I'm curious to find out who on earth wrote the myths associated with Sumeria as well as that associated with Enki, and how people came up with such myths like these in the first place.. It was once said that most of the things associated with myths and religion originated from sumerian myths, such as the great flood and even moses..
(I would have to be wary of STI's though.. as they seemed to be carefree on the topic of sex... even many of their priestesses engaged in anal sex to technically workaround the law that they can't have children)..

City of Carthage, which was known as the jewel of the mediterranean. I'm curious to see the original city, before the Romans conquered and destroyed it in 144 BC. I'm also curious to see how Queen Dido founded the city... what was she like? How did she rule the city, what did people think of her? And what was her backstory?

19th century Europe.. I want to hear what Franz Liszt's playing was like... what was his concerts like... how did he play his pieces? And his showdown against Thalberg.. What was their playing like when they competed against each other in front of Princess Belgiojoso and the other judges who attended this showdown.
I'd also love to explore what Liszt was like in his old age, and witness the anecdotes he frequently recites to his students to bequeath them the background of his pieces such as the Rigoletto Paraphrase... and what was his teaching like? His personality? He treated his students like a family and even gave money to help them.
Would also like to visit the famous neighbourhood in Paris, where composers and writers lived next to each other, such as Franz Liszt, Charles Valentin Alkan, Chopin, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas... as well as the expo in Paris that featured the Eiffel Tower - the one which Jose Rizal attended.

Ancient Greece.. Athens specifically.. I'm curious to know of Socrates, and the other philosophers of his time (he was also known to have lectured students even as far as India in his time).. and how was their drama and theater plays like, and how different were their olympic games, compared to now? And also hippocrates.. what was he like? How did he perform his surgeries and how different it was back then compared to modern medicine?
(I can't find pictures of ancient greece with a decent size, so here's a picture of a random fish)

Rome.. specifically during the time of Caligula's assassination.. I just want to relish the comedy of how Claudius was proclaimed emperor after a soldier randomly found him hiding behind a curtain after Caligula was killed.. the soldier literally saw his feet behind the curtain by chance, pulled him out and hailed him as emperor of rome.
It just sounds like something Monty Python might've pulled off in their time. xD
Aside from that, there are many other places I'd love to explore, but if I wrote everything down here, my reply would've been unnecessarily longer than it has already been right now.
