The Treasure Pirates are a pirate crew led by Mad Treasure, a notorious treasure hunter who cares more about the thrill of seeking treasure rather than acquiring treasure itself.
The sea was roused, wild, and treacherous. In the West Blue, the area of sea was called El Dorado. The infamous stretch of sea is where the treasure Pure Gold was said to lay. Countless ships fell to the treacherous sea, leaving behind untold treasures. Sailing in the middle of the stretch of sea were the Trasire Pirates, their infamous pirate flag standing tall. The Shark Emeralda was stalwart, cutting through the waters. Even from afar, one could see the mountain of treasure at the back of the ship. The Treasure Pirates had riches, yet the sought the adventure of it all.
Overlooking the main deck, the captain’s seat lay, populated. A young woman with a cap, brown hair, and makeup approached.
[Naomi Drunk] “We’ve located Pure Gold. The stretch of land starboard is where it lies.”
[Mad Treasure] “Good! Gild Tesoro will be pleased! Set the course!”
Gild Tesoro. An even more infamous pirate. Yet, here was Mad Treasure, one who gained the bounty of 150,000,000 for his use of slaves. Even in the deck, clothed slaves manned it. The treasure of freedom was not found here,
Kuvira's eyes would lock onto the land ahead, she would start to raise the sails of the small boat she came here on and begin to paddle ashore. "El Dorado" is what they called this area, tales of some great treasure attracted many to this island, mostly pirates looking to get rich. Kuvira however did not come here for a treasure, instead a bounty.
The young marine was tasked with hunting down and defeating "The Treasure Pirates", a group led by the man that goes by the name Mad Treasure. A little on the nose she thought to herself. After Kuvira's and Wukong's battle against the world pirates in the New World her higher ups determined that she was more than capable of taking out this crew on her own, which was slightly jarring to her since Wukong had did most of the work, however she wouldn't turn down this opportunity to further grow her reputation. Treasure Pirates are just another stepping stone towards her ascension to Fleet Admiral.
Kuvira would arrive to shore, dragging her boat on the island and storing it somewhere out of sight for safety. The report said they were coming here next, so she would simply wait.
The Treasure Pirates, in hot pursuit of Pure Gold treasure, braved El Dorado. Landing in an island known as Lost Island, the crew braved the treacherous waters and approached land. The Crew already held treasure, it was adventure they sought. The ship docked gently in the desolate dock. The beach was against mountain ridges that used ropes to climb. A city was emblazoned on the top of the rocks. These, however, were most different. Not a single soul could be seen. The howling of the wind made a creepy howl that was carried by the wind. Many shops were docked, giving the sense that many crews landed, docked, to never return.
The woman with the baseball cap and a smaller man with a pink coldsuit de-boarded the ship. With them, a group of 15 pirates strong. Mad Treasure was not among them.
[Naomi Drunk] “Allright, men! You know the drill! Canvas the area and set up a perimeter. The treasure is here.”
[Paycho P] “Legend has it many a crew met their end here. Watch your step! Whatever may come, we have Mad Treasure with us! To adventure!
Shouts of huzzah followed. The unnamed pirates starting climbing ho the rope, unaware of who was on the island. Adventure, they hoped.
Kuvira could hear a group of rowdy people in the distance, initially unsure if they were who she was after until one of them announced that Mad Treasure was there. Kuvira would activate her Observation haki and wait for the group to travel deeper into the island, she would stalk them from a distance.
Kuvira would have to be careful, she couldn't just attack them as they were known to have many slaves in their crew, individuals she planned on freeing from their thumb. The goal here was to strategically pick off the actual crew members before confronting Mad treasure himself. After her encounter with Nightin, she realized how vulnerable she was to trickery like poisons and it was unknown if they had anything of the sort.
The pirate crew had made landfall. Two officers of the crew had disembarked, bringing 30 pirate underlings with them. The town in the mountain top was split in two: East and West. In the middle stood a valley that separated the two. There were two ropes at the beach edge of the mountain, each leading to the East and West of the island. The Treasure Pirates split into two: 15 pirates for each group. Naomi Drunk followed the group heading to the West. Psycho P had disappeared, though a good assumption is he would be East. Mad Treasure was nowhere to be found. Was he at the ship? As the groups climbed the rope, Naomi’s voice echoed.
Behind the pirates, differently clothed individuals followed.
[Naomi Drunk] “Hey, you slaves! Get going! You’ll be leading the pack and take the traps!
Sure enough, 5 slaves per group followed. They were chained from the hands with a large brown jumpsuits, their eyes downtrodden. Their skin clung to bones. With all the treasure the pirates boasted, it seemed deplorable the slaves were so weak. Cannon fodder. The groups made it to the respective cities. The buildings were desolate and downtrodden. Not a soul lived. They entered the towns, the slaves leading the way to find the legendary traps. Skeletons showed many crews met their fate in this treacherous town. All in search of the treasure.
All unaware they were already being watched.
If you don’t mind, I’ll give you suggestions on how to improve your IC and make it more fun.
Post your stats with your first post. This is actually a rule. Make sure you post your current stats in next post. This way, as you level up while you’re on the island, we know what your stats when starting are - those will be the stats for your whole IC.
It’s always a good idea of stating your position in your posts. So, next post, state where you are in the island. The more detailed, the better. Allows the host to work with that.
Pictures help make the story real, particularly reactions. Your character is from Avatar, no? There should be plenty of pics. Not every post (this post I didn’t put any pics), but every now and then.
Thank you! I was also leaving my position kinda vague cause i didnt wanna powerplay this island i know nothing about. I'll try to give descriptions from now on moving forward. If I overstep please let me know and i'll change my post. Also i'll try to use more pictures moving forward, maybe not this post but in general lmao
Kuvira stalked Naomi and the group of slaves from the buildings above them, waiting the group to get further away from the rest of the crew, dashing rooftop to rooftop to keep an eye on them. Kuvira wondered the best way to approach this situation, if this happened to turn into an all out brawl here what would happen to the slaves? Confrontation was not an option, instead she would aim to take her out swiftly before she could retaliate.
Kuvira's best asset was without question her speed, combined with Rokushiki she felt she was well suited for moments like this. As they entered one of the cities and Naomi let the slaves lead them, she would strike. With the sun ahead of them Naomi being alerted by Kuvira's shadow was not an issue so she would use Kamisori and dash through the air behind them, closing in on Naomi with high speed before using Shigan "Oren", attempting to stab her in the back multiple times, making sure she targeted her spine and just where her heart would be located. This time was different from Nightin, Treasure Pirates were irredeemable in her eyes so there was no mercy in this attack, she would not regret the outcome.
Kamisori Requirements: 46 Mastery, 41 Strength and 61 Movement Speed
A combination of Geppo and Soru, where the user uses Soru in a zigzag motion in midair, allowing extremely fast movements in three dimensions.
Shigan "Oren" Requirements: 51 Mastery, 51 Strength DPS: B
This attack is simply a rapid-fire version of the normal Shigan technique that hits the enemy multiple times.
Kuvira DPS: 51 1. Wall/Tree Level + 2 B rank = 3. Large Building Level
The Treasure Pirates split into two groups. Fifteen pirates each, and one commander. Slaves of five lead the way, to be fodder for the traps that surely awaited them. To one side of the city split, Naomi Drunk took her people, nervously moving about the empty ruins. The whistling of the wind was hallowing, as the gust from the sea was strong. An eerie approach to a desolate place. To the center of town they went, coming to the city center. Not a soul seen, only the whistling of the wind. The map led to the center.
Suddenly, Naomi Drunk, behind the slaves and pirates, widened her eyes. The whistling of the wind had been broken, signaling a disturbance.
[Naomi Drunk] “Ughhh! W-w-who the hell a-a-re you?!”
The woman‘s body skipped through the center until coming to a halt. She looked back to the culprit, words barked. Naomi was on the ground, holding her torso, it soaked with blood. Kuvira had succeeded in her attack. Yet, the wind had warned Naomi, stealth broken, and she moved just enough prior to contact to avoid a hit to the spine and heart. Still, her wounds were plenty, and she seemed to be glued to the ground, blood staining the earth. Could she fight henceforth?
The woman shouted orders as she took out her bow with difficulty.
[Naomi Drunk] “What are you waiting for?! Get him!”
With those words, the slaves and pirates sprung into action. The slaves surrounded Naomi, creating a ring shield as Naomi recovered. They were used as fodder meat shields. Disgusting, but these were not saints. The rest of the 15 pirates split into two groups. Ten charged Kuvira while five stayed behind. The ten came to the Marine in a oval-approach, swords above their heads, intent on slashing the girl. The remaining five pulled out their rifles, pointing at Kuvira, waiting for an opportunity to fire.

OOC: All good bro life happens. Take all the time you need.
Kuvira's attack was successful as she sent Naomi flying from impact. As the slaves swarmed to protect her from any further follow up. 10 of them would begin to charge Kuvira, moving so slow she felt her Observation Haki was overkill in the moment, nonetheless grateful for the training she received from Suyin. Kuvira wanted to free these people but in order to do that she needed to show them that the power Mad Treasure possessed and of his captains were of no concern.
Kuvira would use Basic Geppo to take to the sky above them, avoiding conflict with the slaves charging at her before beginning to speak. Kuvira's speed would appear to be astonishing to the slaves, seemingly teleporting out of their line of sight.
Basic Geppo: Requirements: 11 Mastery, 21 Movement Speed, 21 Strength.
The user kicks off the air with such force that they lift off. Mastery divided by 2 is the amount of times you can kick before having to land.
"My name is Kuvira and I am with the Marines. I've been sent to put an end to Mad Treasure and the Treasure pirates. All slaves forced to be in his crew will be freed once I am finished, able to go live normal lives on your own. If you want you can even enlist in the marines and use our resources to create new lives for yourselves with my and my mentor's recommendation. Never again being forced into a life of indentured servitude. All that I ask is that you put your weapons down and let me arrest Naomi Treasure. I will then take down Mad Treasure."
Kuvira floated up and down in the air, sparingly using her kicks to maintain being airborne. Arms crossed behind her back, standing at rest in the sky, looking downward at the slaves she intended to free, a look of seriousness on her face as she watched them, ready to react to whatever they decided to do. If they decided to attack her, her next move was not so clear. All she could do is hope that what she's displayed is enough for them to bet on her.
The Cipher agent had made his way to the second-in-command, break8ng ranks and landing a blow against Naomi. The woman survived, slaves protecting her like agents of slavery. The pirates were told to attack. Ten sword-bearing pirates dashed at her to slash the newcomer, but would find their target jumping in the air itself. The woman went on a long-winded speech, one that would startle the five slaves surrounding Naomi. One began to shake, taking a step forward out of the rotation, believing in the words. Another slave shouted: “No!”. A moment after, an explosion occurred on the slave’s back, propelling him forward, dead. Naomi had stood up, her bow reloading, eyes angry.
[Naomi Drunk] “E-e-liminate Captain? Ha! Y-y-a won’t even leave here a-a-alive!”
With those words, Naomi’s bow began to shine pink. Words of hubris, for the woman was gravely injured. From below, the remaining five pirates with rifles began firing. A blanket of bullets hailed upwards, intent on shooting down the airborne woman. There was little room to maneuver in the blanket of bullets that kept firing. The ten sword wielding pirates doubled back to Naomi and surrounded her outside of the slaves, their numbers short.
Kuvira would inhale sharply, surprised by Naomi's attack on to one of the slaves. Kuvira had failed that one, however she could not afford to let this woman linger around any longer and knew that she needed to act now to save the others. As the bullets would begin to come towards her she would halt her Geppou and begin coming downward towards the gunfire, the Marine would begin swinging her legs seemingly wild like, launching numerous Rankyaku shaped like shuriken, however she would use these to clear bullets on her decent to the ground, overpowering the bullets and carrying onward towards the men firing them, simultaneously using her kicks momentum to twist and turn dodging those that she could not deal with.
Once Kuvira managed to land she would dash towards Naomi and the other pirates with murderous intent.
41-60: 1. Wall/Tree Level + C = 2 DPS
Rankyaku "Shuriken" Requirements: 41 Mastery, 31 Strength DPS: C
The user fires multiple Rankyaku blades in the shape of shuriken.
The dexterous Marine came down with an unique to the Government, using air shurikens to swat the bullets away. A gorgeous technique that left the rifle-wielding pirates in awe. Those holding swords did not freeze. Instead, they ran at Kuvira, newly grounded, with war cries. However, upon reaching swing length, something unexpected happened. The front three exploded outward.
A large explosion five meters radius wide occurred, creating a sizable explosion that engulfed five of the ten sword-wielding pirates. The explosion would be big enough to engulf Kuvira, in range of the pirates. Behind the explosion, Naomi could be seen, now front. She had sacrificed her nakama to attempt to land a surprise attack on the Marine: through the pirates.
[Naomi Drunk] “This is my ability. Dyna Stone arrows. Your dodging skills cannot help you against the size of my attacks!”
The camera zoomed into the arrow used, showing an empty capsule that held an imitation Dyna Stone, creating a terrible explosion of large radius. Naomi was still on one knee, yet her arrow was loaded and ready. Wounded, yet a cornered rat would strike back.
The real battle had just begun. Kuvira had to figure out a way to survive the explosions and save the slaves that may get caught in the crossfire if she got too close to the mad woman.
There was no honor amongst thieves.
Naomi DPS: 41-60: 1. Wall/Tree Level (Archery) +2 (B Rank) = 81-100: 3. Large Building Level
Naomi wields a bow and arrows. Some of her arrows are equipped with encapsulated Dyna Stones as arrowheads that cause massive destruction, capable of destroying a Marine ship.
Somewhere in the waters of the West Blue, a medium-sized ship bobs over the waves. It has no flag, colours on the hull or other details that would help to identify it but is obviously not a merchant or civilian ship due to its design and weapons. All the people on board also have no common outfits, instead just wearing casual ones of various styles but if someone were to inspect them closely they would see they all have weapons.
A purple haired woman stands under the main mast occasionally giving orders to people when they come to her or shouting at certain ones further away that were messing about or doing things wrong. It was very clear that they were quite professional and skilled, working as a team to do everything. They were actually part of the secretive Revolutionary Army, a group that was trying to take down the World Government due to their crimes and how corrupt they are. The ship was heading towards a country that they were going to help liberate, other agents from the organisation already being there and them being the reinforcements now the Revolutionaries had infiltrated the island.
The girl seemingly in charge, Sophie looks across the deck and sees everyone is busy with tasks. She starts to walk away from the mast towards the back of the ship but is interrupted when a figure jumps down in front of her. With a cheeky smile on their face, they look down at her as she was taller than Sophie. Amy was a skilled sniper that was good to have around but had a wild and mischievous personality that people either loved or found annoying. She had cyan hair that gets darker to the point it is basically black at the tips and was done up in twin tails. On her face just under her left eye was a two line tattoo, their right shoulder also had a large continuous tattoo that went down to the right-side of her belly button that had various stylized designs inside it; such as a broken heart, a star and a swirl with dots around it. Wearing a dark cyan sleeveless hooded top, Amy has a black fingerless glove on her right hand and a much longer one her left one that nearly reaches her shoulder. Her belted very short shorts were black and inbetween them and her thigh-high boots was net stockings. Although she wasn't currently wearing them as they were a safety hazard when on the Sea Pixie, she generally had a spiked bracelet and choker on aswell.
Knowing it is unlikely to be anything serious, Sophie decides to just directly ask so whatever she is about to tell her or do is over quicker "What is it Amy?"
Pretending to pout and be slightly sad, Amy looks away from the purple haired woman "Can't I just come and talk to you?". Nobody else pays them much attention, either too busy or just not wanting to get involved for various reasons.
Rolling her eyes, the Lineal Heiress sighs and half-apologizes half scolds her "Of course you can, you just never do. But now isn't really a great time as we are in the middle of the ocean, I need to be concentrating just in case something happens"
The sniper girl drops the pout and starts to grin instead "You need to lighten up a bit Soph and have fun every now and again. The only things around us are water and fish, even if a big fishy decides to attack us it won't be hard to deal with as this is just one of the Blues" While she talks Amy leans against the closest object to her, a barrel.
"I wish I could but I am responsible for everyone under my command and even in the open waters anything could happen. Fun is fine when not in serious situations but it still needs to have moderation, as a peaceful scenario can quickly become a dangerous one in less than a minute." On a bit of roll, Sophie continues talking for a while longer but then notices Amy's expression at getting an impromptu lesson about seriousness so she decides to change the subject slightly. "Anyway, I wouldn't need to be so alert and serious if our leader actually acted like it, as we would then share the responsibility. As currently it is mostly me and then she takes charge whenever she feels like it or is really needed, like in a major battle."
Everyone on the ship knew Sophie's opinions on Jade's leadership style even if she didn't mention or complain about it out loud. The Dwarf was very lucky she had someone like her right-hand man as they did most of the paperwork and other 'boring' parts of her position as a Warrant Officer. Without them Jade would either have had to shape up or would've been demoted.
"Well it could be alot worse, when I heard I was going to be under the command of a former Marine I was expecting all sorts of things and got told all sort of rumours; most of which were true but in quite different ways" The purple haired figure doesn't notice the cyan haired one briefly looking past her when she pauses speaking for a few seconds "Many of us would be here without her, either as members of the Revolution or actually being alive. I know Jade has directly saved my life 3 times, and those are just the ones I saw!"
Making a sound of agreement, the Lineal Heiress looks at the stairs to the back of the ship that was a few metres away "I just wish she thought things through a bit more. We would be back on Baltigo by now if she didn't suggest we go and help in Illusia" Sophie lets out a half laugh & half sigh "And all because she didn't want to explain to someone like Sabo why there a giant bird that definitely wasn't native is flying around the base"
Anything that Amy was going to say in reply is interrupted by a crashing sound nearby and then a shout of "AMY!!" The two of them turn to see an angry crewman running towards them, the prankster using talking to Sophie as an excuse while she waited for someone to fall for her trap. The mischievous girl stops leaning on the barrel and with a quick goodbye runs off while being chased, ending up having to climb the mast slightly and swing on a robe to get some distance from her pursuer. Watching for a bit, Sophie shakes her head and then goes back to work, talking to some of the nearby crew members about supplies.
On the raised platform at the very back of the ship, a large pile of what seems like feathers ruffles in the wind slightly and a bit of blonde hair somewhere in the middle turns over in their sleep.
The Treasure Pirates are a wild and unpredictable crew led by the infamous Mad Treasure, a man more obsessed with the thrill of the hunt than the treasure itself. To him, gold is meaningless the moment it’s found, what he craves is the chase, the clues, the puzzles, and the promises of forgotten myths. With a bounty of 150 million Beri and a devil fruit that binds his foes in gleaming, unbreakable chains, Mad Treasure is as dangerous as he is erratic. His philosophy infects the rest of his crew, turning what could’ve been a ragtag band into a tightly bonded ensemble of lunatics, misfits, and dreamers.
At his side is Naomi Drunk, the reluctant, always intoxicated, right-hand and the sharpest shot on the Grand Line, capable of dropping targets mid-sentence with her bow. Sarcastic and seemingly indifferent, Naomi is the only one who occasionally questions the madness, but never steps away from it. Her precise archery and brawler instincts make her both a voice of reason and a storm when provoked. Then there’s Psycho P, a grinning maniac with twin blades and an appetite for chaos, originally freed from a prison ship just so Treasure could steal a faulty compass. P stayed, not for loyalty, but because chaos suits him and under Mad Treasure’s flag, chaos is currency.
The rest of the crew thirty-five strong, are no ordinary underlings. While lacking the overwhelming strength of New World elites, they compensate with cunning, numbers, and unpredictability. With swords, tricks, and more than a few firebombs, they swarm opponents like a violent tide. Each member fights for their own reasons, but all believe in the promise of adventure of chasing the impossible.
The Treasure Pirates don't sail under justice, power, or ideology. They chase tales no one else dares to believe in, burn maps just to see where instinct takes them, and throw away gold once the story is told. Their ship, Shark Emeralda, gleams with stolen gold more for irony than defense, a laughing monument to the idea that value lies not in treasure, but in pursuit. They are chaos incarnate on the sea, and when they arrive, no one's sure if they're there to plunder, partner, or play a deadly game of hide and seek with destiny itself.
The Revolutionaries were taking the long way round to their destination, like they normally did. While this would be less effective in the Grand Line for various reasons, it helped them a lot in the Blues as Marine patrols were quite common in the more frequently used and direct routes to islands. Of course it did have disadvantages too, such as pirates also using these kinds of methods and often attacking when they spot other ships that weren't World Government or obviously part of another powerful organisation. But the benefits generally outweighed the risks, especially since they were reinforcements to help people already there so needed to arrive as safely as possible.
Sophie was double checking everything and making sure everyone was working, she had no reason to be this demanding outside of making the crew be prepared if something unexpected happened and keeping them active & ready for when they arrive; just in case they had to immediately start to fight for some reason. Something was telling her this was the right thing to do but quite a lot of the crew wasn't so sure and wanted to relax before they arrived. This was why she was currently standing below deck infront of some people who thought it was a good idea to open and drink most of a barrel of alcohol.
"When you have sobered up you will be scrubbing the kitchen, for 4 hours" Several of them complain while holding their heads as it was a very strong liquor in the barrel "Oh not long enough? We will make it 6 hours then" The purple-haired girl looks at them with one eyebrow raised, daring them to protest again. When they got the hint and didn't say anything else, she dismissed them and was heading back up when she heard shouting.
Before she could wonder for too long what was happening, a low-ranking agent ran down the stairs and upon seeing her ran even faster before coming to a stop in front of them "A ship has been spotted ma'am, although it still quite a distance away. The hull is apparently covered in gold and gemstones but the lookout doesn't recognize the pirate flag." He gives a salute, obviously wanting to make a good impression after delivering an important message.
"Tell the helmsman to slow the ship but don't stop, we will see if the pirates have seen us and start coming towards us or if they will continue sailing" He salutes again and heads back up the stairs. Sophie quickly follows him and comes above deck.
Looking around they then approach the nearest crewman that wasn't busy doing something "Find Jade and tell her about the ship if she doesn't seem to know" That done and seeing that everyone was doing their jobs, Sophie looks out across the water and wonders why someone, even a pirate, would want to have such a gaudy ship. She then shakes her head and also gets to work, just in case they come towards them and want to battle.
The Shark Emeralda carved through the West Blue, its steel hull blazing gold beneath the sun. Jewels shimmered along its flanks, cannons lined its sides, and the shark-faced bow grinned at the sea as if it owned it.
Mad Treasure stood at the prow, wild purple hair whipping in the wind, chains glinting across his muscular frame. Beneath his sunglasses, his pink eyes burned with the thrill of the chase.
“Jarararara! The sea gifts us mystery once more. No flag, no colours, yet she sails steady. Beautiful.”
Behind him, Naomi Drunk leaned lazily against the rail, bottle in hand, puffy brown hair half-hiding her smirk. Her green shirt read ‘NAOMI’ across the chest, and her cap sat low over her eyes.
“You said we were done chasing strays,” she muttered, voice smooth but slurred. “Could just be a fishing boat, Captain.”
Treasure turned, his grin sharp. “Even a fishing boat hides secrets. The moment you stop chasing, the sea forgets your name.”
“Or feeds you to it,” she replied, taking another drink.
From the upper deck came a rhythmic voice, cutting through the air like percussion.
“Yo, yo, no flag, no fear, out in the blue,
When the Shark comes huntin’, what they gonna do?”
Psycho P landed beside them, pink coat flaring as his twin blades caught the light.
“They’ve got no colours, Cap. You reckon they’ve got bite?”
Treasure smirked. “If they do, all the better. A weak hunt dulls the spirit.”
He raised his arm, and a chain lashed around the helm. The ship turned with metallic grace towards the distant vessel.
The Shark Emeralda’s crew stirred to life. Boots thundered, ropes snapped taut, and cannons swivelled towards the horizon. From the lookout came a shout: “They’ve spotted us, Captain! Slowing down, but not stopping!”
Treasure’s grin widened. “Good. Let them stare into the gold.”
Naomi sighed. “You enjoy this far too much.”
“The sea rewards madness,” he said softly. “And I’m always listening.”
The distance between the ships shrank. The smaller vessel came into view, plain and unmarked but disciplined. Its crew moved like soldiers. Not pirates. Not Marines. Something else.
“Hmm,” Psycho P murmured. “They move clean. Got guts.”
Treasure’s voice boomed through the den-den mushi. “Oi! You’ve caught the eye of Mad Treasure! I’m not here for your gold. I just want to know what you’re hiding!”
Silence answered.
Naomi smirked. “Maybe they’re smarter than they look.”
Treasure’s grin only grew. “Or braver.”
He turned to his crew. “Hold fire. Prepare to board.”
The Shark Emeralda’s golden hull glowed as it closed in, the sea churning beneath its shadow. Treasure spread his arms wide, chains rattling like applause.
“Jarararara! Let’s see what story the sea’s brought us today.”
The waves rolled between hunter and prey, two ships drawn together by fate and the promise of the unknown.
The sound of boots on wood and shouting echoes across the deck as the Sea Pixie slightly lowers it's sails and turns the rudder to make it start to slow down. A handful of groups were busy tying ropes while some individuals were running from stern to prow to give or take orders. Most of the activity was happening below however, with lots of people preparing cannons and other weapons just in case a battle was about to happen or putting supplies and other items that can be easily damaged in safe places.
Sophie was near the bow and slightly off to one side as she was watching the ship that was now close enough to be seen without being in the Crow's Nest. Having given most of the orders already, nobody was interrupting her as they all knew what to do and she would actually be able to relax for once if it was pretty much any situation but the current one. As she is looking across the waves, she notices the gold vessel change direction and face towards them "So they have definitely now noticed us and decided they want a fight. It’s a bit more than just annoying as it could be a big problem depending on how strong they are, but it also makes sense as they are pirates and for all they know we could be a merchant ship with lots of good items…” Muttering to herself slightly, the lavender woman quickly goes through various ideas in her head about what to do to avoid the seemingly inevitable battle.
After thinking for a few more moments, she gets the attention of some of the nearby people who quickly come over to her. “Tell the cannoneers to now load the cannons as the ships definitely changed course to come towards us. Make sure everyone else is fully prepared for battle and ready for projectiles” The crewmembers head-off, with most going to the other nearby people and a few going towards the stairs to let the people manning the cannons know to fully prepare them.
Sophie also walks away from the side of the ship and heads towards the stern, wanting to talk to the helmsman and a few other people if she had the time. Before she can even get halfway and surprising her out of her thoughts, a voice suddenly starts to speak from a Den Den Mushi on the other ship.
Treasure’s voice boomed through the den-den mushi. “Oi! You’ve caught the eye of Mad Treasure! I’m not here for your gold. I just want to know what you’re hiding!”
Either he has a sense of humour or he has enough gold Sophie thoughts were racing now she knows she no longer has the time to talk to people and was quickly trying to think of ways to modify her plans Mad Treasure isn’t a pirate or crew I have heard of, but this is a Blue Sea so they shouldn’t be too powerful. Despite his words maybe they will let us go if we give them some money or other treasure, it’s risky but worth considering since he is clearly willing to talk to us in some capacity.Taking a quick look around her as she keeps walking towards the back of the Sea Pixie, she suddenly shouts “Jade! Where are you?!” Waiting for a few moments and looking at the people next to her who mostly just shrug, Sophie is a bit annoyed but not surprised she doesn’t get a response of any kind. Sighing she raises her voice again but not as loudjust in case the sound carries to the other ship “Crew! If they decide to not attack and try to board we are just a merchant ship that is on the way back from an island so don’t have many goods”
Although she knew it was unlikely, Sophie had to try and resolve things without bloodshed as best she could. The lavender-haired woman also knew her boss’ tendencies and personality, so in the back of her mind she was also preparing for a battle that was started by Jade; whether accidentally or purposely.
Right at the back of the boat, the pile of feathers stirs slightly due to the increase in sound and activity near them. The very small girl on top of the plumage stays hidden from all the people searching for her and keeps sleeping.
The Sea Pixie slowed and shifted in the water, cautious but not retreating. From the prow of the Shark Emeralda, Mad Treasure watched with a predator’s patience. The wind pulled at his chains as if the sea itself urged him forward.
“They prepare to defend,” he said quietly. “Their discipline is impressive. Most merchant crews panic when they see us.”
Naomi took a long drink from her bottle, watching the distant ship with half-lidded eyes. “Maybe they are not merchants. Maybe they are smugglers. Maybe they are fools. Either way, they are wasting my time.”
Psycho P leaned over the rail beside Treasure, small sunglasses glinting. He listened to the faint echoes from across the waves, boots thudding, cannons being readied.
“They busy loading guns, stacking crates, settin’ the stage,” he said in rhythm. “They think they ready to dance but they still in the cage.”
Treasure smirked. “No flag. No fear. Now they prepare for war. Interesting. They have something worth protecting.” His eyes narrowed. “Or someone.”
He raised a chain-wrapped hand and spoke into his den-den mushi again, voice crisp and commanding. “Unidentified vessel. You prepare for battle yet you do not raise colours. State your purpose or I will uncover it myself.”
Silence pressed heavily across the sea. Crewmen aboard the Shark Emeralda shifted uneasily, waiting for the order to fire. Naomi rolled her neck with a loose sigh.
“They are stalling,” she said. “Can we just board and get this over with before I sober up?”
Treasure ignored her. His mind was fixed on the hunt. “No. There is a story here. I can feel it. Chains do not tighten until the prey reveals the path.”
Psycho P chuckled. “Cap in his element. Smell of mystery got him wild again.”
Treasure lifted a hand and the helm locked. The Shark Emeralda held its exact position, poised but silent. “Prepare a boarding crew. No cannon fire yet. I want to look them in the eye.”
“What if they have explosives or sea traps set,” Naomi asked lazily. “Could be messy.”
Treasure grinned. “Then today will be fun.”
Across the gap of water, he could see shapes gathering on the other ship. Cannons being loaded. Sailors scrambling. One voice shouting orders above the rest. He could not yet see their captain, but he could sense resolve on that deck.
He tilted his head. “Someone over there thinks they can bargain with fate. I want to meet them.”
He rested his hand on one of his chains, excitement burning through him. “Jarararara. Ready the hooks. We are going aboard.”
The crew erupted into movement. Grapple lines were loaded. Cutlasses drawn. Boots hammered the deck. Naomi pushed off the rail, rolling her shoulders like someone waking from a pleasant nap. Psycho P spun his blades and grinned.
Treasure stepped onto the figurehead, balanced over the open sea, cloak of chains fluttering behind him.
