Waking the Dammed #2

Streets of the Capital
The Styx had made it past the waterfall and docked in the Flower Capital. Usually bustling, the dock had no life. It made their entry quite easy, able to avoid immediate detection. Upon arrival, Zalera changed the sails to a merchant ship to cloak their identity. Thankfully, a decaying ship looking like death fit in the drought.

The Grim led the way through the streets of the Capital, her cloak ever hiding the madness within. The streets were desolate and in peril. The rumored drought was real, even in the Capital. Wano was in shambles. The ever-strategist, Zalera, kept an eye out for a clothing shop they could raid for outfits to fit in, or someone they could steal clothes from.

The only living was a young girl unconscious in the middle of the street. La Spada would stop the group and turn, her mischievous grin growing. Suddenly, she disappeared, appearing right behind Akira. La Spada’s skeleton head over Akira’s shoulder and now looking past his shoulder towards the girl, La Spada whispered to the Shadow with her thick morbid tone.

[La Spada] “Tha’ sight brings back memoriahs’. Tha’ time yah’ were helpless and clung to lifeah’. Do you remember when I devoured your parents souls? Yah’ were too weak to save them. Too pathetic to even die. Instead, yah’ clung to life and asked me to spareah’ yah’ life... Yah’ asked the one who took your light, Shadow. Do yah’ remember?”
[La Spada] “How delightful that was! Kuhahahahaha...”
La Spada devilishly brought Akira back to all those years ago. Hoping he would see himself in the helpless girl and his pain would rush back in memories. And La Spada’s eyes... enjoying the torture.

[La Spada] “Of course, you are far from helpless now... A far cry from tha’ pathetic boy who took Myōhō Muramasa and slayed your fellow villagers in your quest to survive like a rat! Quite inspiring, truly. Your skills now even rival mah’ own... but you lack HATE.”
[La Spada] “Let me show you. I think I’ll play with her a bit. Kuahahahah!”

With those words, the Grim took to the middle of the street. She bent in front of the girl and grabbed her by the crest of her back. La Spada’s boney fingers opened the girls mouth. There was a gentle green light illuminating her finger. Ice formed. As quick as it formed, a spark of fire, Fiero, melted the ice between the Grim’s fingers. This turned the ice to water that fell into the girl’s mouth.

Would she wake? If she knew what waited for her, would she want to?

Udon - Co-Host
@kakashi19283

In Udon, once a lush green land now became a giant wasteland almost devoid of life, thanks to the combined efforts of Orochi and Kaido. There is absolutely nothing else that would spark the interest of any tourist, geologically. However deep in this rocky land – it is the home of a select group of people – prisoners. A prison was built and governed by a really obnoxious looking person known as Queen, which houses the Yakuza Leaders of Wano and several of their lackeys. However, outside the prison – different Yakuza clans have set up camps and outputs around the prison, hoping to rescue their leader. Unfortunately, none of them are working together which resulted in clashes between different groups at various times. The three swordsman that Leo and Sasaki took care of? They actually belong to a Yakuza group from the Hakumai Yakuza. Which means that the pair now encroaches towards the temporary territory of Hakumai Yakuza in Udon.

Soon afterwards, the pair would find a rather decently built outpost alongside a mountain formation. Around the outpost, from a far – one can see several samurais fully clad in armor walking around the outpost or even looking out into the horizons from within the outpost to look out for intruders, if the pair were to walk closer towards the outpost, they would run the risk of being spotted by the outpost sentries of Hakumai Yakuza. They could also take a detour around this area – the prison is located in the centre of Udon, past this outpost or they could try to get past the outpost directly.

ooc: Will edit later for the Flower Capital part.

Leo and Sasaki walked, traversing Udon after they had dealt with the three swordsmen earlier. Leo had his usual stern look on his face, while Sasaki walked in a much more nonchalant manner, his arms crossed behind his head. The severe sun was beaming down on the two. Visibly, it affected the two differently. Leo, who was the eater of the Mera Mera no Mi, was not affected by heat much. Sasaki on the other hand, a normal man, was sweating. His left hand dropped down to grab his shirt, and he tugged on it a few times, trying to get a breeze under his clothing.

Gah, this place is horrible... just walking around here reminds me of sparring you...

Sasaki said, his other hand dropping down into his pocket to take out a bottle of water. A pure treasure around these parts, and something not to be wasted, Sasaki drank the water relatively quickly.

That's one down... good thing only one of us needs this.

Sasaki said. As the two walked and Sasaki tried to deal with the heat, they eventually stumbled on what looked like a huge outpost in the distance. They stopped a few hundred meters away.

Looks like we finally found something. Sasaki, go check it out. You look like a local.

Fine fine...

Still tugging on his shirt to keep the airflow going, Sasaki walked a few dozen meters forward and stepped into the range of where the samurai manning the outpost would notice him.

Oiiiiiii, who are you people?! What is this place?!

Sasaki asked, waving at the samurai. Were they friend or foe? Whatever it was, Leo and Sasaki would deal with it.

While soaring the skies to infiltrate Wano, Uteki entrusted Ai to keep watch for anything that would hinder their approach. Luckily, nothing of the sort happened. At least not right then. Their descent went unbothered and they landed successfully in Wano. The two weren't sure were exactly in Wano they were in though. Upon landing, Uteki frees Ai from her grasp. Taking in their surroundings, the discover that, at least where they landed, Wano was in a pitiful state. The streams had disgusting looking water, smoke stacks rose up from various buildings. Likely the cause of the water situation. Both Uteki and Ai didn't not consider themselves just or right or anything of the sort. This still angered both of them. It made their goal of taking Kaido down all the sweeter. With the added bonus of helping the sorry state of this island.

With no better plans, the two decided to follow downstream. They walked and walked. Looking for something out of the ordinary. Eventually, they would find something. It was a boy gathering water at the river. Uteki nodded and Ai approached him. Being far better with kids than Uteki, she was the clear choice for approaching him and attempting to figure out some more information. Uteki saw the town ahead and figured the boy came from that town. Rather than going straight to the town, taking the time to help the boy may cause the townsfolk to feel more obligated to help them in return. Uteki was within earshot so she could hear what Ai and the boy talked about without Ai having to explain it to her later.

"Do you need any help?"

Ai asked the boy, waiting for a response.

Kallavan would arrive in the waters that directly surrounded Wano allowing him to take in the scenery. Which did draw his attention for a short while. He'd observe that the land was indeed suffering under this intense drought. Eventually, a port would come in sight and to Kallavan's attention and as fate would have it he'd be directed to the lesser occupied port. The admiral in disguise would notice that a skeleton crew was working the docks allowing him to infiltrate without too much of a problem. The two workers would wake up and prepared themselves to dock Kallavan's vessel. "You know the routine, private," Kallavan said as he positioned himself to the side of the vessel taking up the mask of a tourist.

The marine private nodded as he took the mantle of ship captain, the entire crew inside this ship dressed as regular folk as the ship was registered as a trade ship. Once docked the private would proceed with talks, if questioned, about hearing a rumour concerning wano and its supply shortages and that he made his way here to set up a trading outpost. Kallavan himself would play the role of a passerby who used the trading ship as a passage to Wano.

Spada Pirates would arrive in Flower Capital shortly after getting into Wano Kuni, it was the most stand out location in Wano, considering the what it should have been. As the pirate crew docks into Flower Capital, they would realize Flower Capital… is empty, due to the drought severely affecting even the capital city, such that no one is on the streets – but one could figure that they might be hiding in their house, safe from the heat. Regardless, it is not something Akira cares too much about. As La Spada would lead the Spada Pirates through the empty street – in front of them was a little girl, unconscious in the middle of the street. This prompts an action from La Spada herself, in which she immediately appeared right behind Akira, whom was surprised by her action for a moment, but his only physical reaction was his wide eyes, in which he would immediately squint and shift his eyes towards his back. Through her words, it is fairly obvious she wanted to provoke Akira, probably hoping to see some sort of action or reaction from him.

Though La Spada might have gotten the history a little wrong – considering she was the one to offer the way out to Akira, the boy did not beg. Regardless of her provocation, Akira having dealt with her taunts for years, have grew a thick skin that is thick enough to coldly ignore her provocations. This level of provocation isn’t enough for him to withdrew his weapon against his family killers. Instead, watching quietly, and coldly to La Spada’s actions – attempting to play with her once she wakes up. Instead, Akira reminded La Spada of her actions, possibly in his already cold heart, a bit of humanity still resides the young boy.

“She has better use alive than dead.”

Considering that if they want to take this place for themselves or find the ones in charge, her being alive is needed. Though it is unlikely it would ultimately change anything. Spada Pirates will get what they want, no matter which way they decide to do so.

Unfortunately for Sasaki, as the samurai would attempt to make conversation with the Hakumai Yakuza of this area, he will find that his friendly gesture will be met with incredible hostility. Such is the consequences of unwittingly entering what would be considered a war zone in this parts. As for the Hakumai Yakuza, having the advantage of a higher vantage point allowed them to see Sasaki approaching from afar. Immediately the Yakuza members took up arm, withdrawing swords from their scabbards and sentry guards started aiming down their sights at Sasaki with their guns. Before Sasaki would get too close, he would find all eyes are on him, and they would shoot at any given moment – a rather dangerous situation for Sasaki.

“WHO ARE YOU?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!”

One of the guards shouted. Sasaki would not receive an answer for his question. The Yakuzas obviously acknowledge that Sasaki is not with them, if he were to notice the armor of the samurais patrolling outside the outpost, now cautioning with their sword out against him – they have the same emblems on their armor. Depending on how Sasaki answers, the chances of them attacking him is incredibly high. While they questioned Sasaki, they do not truly care about who is he, only if he is an enemy or not - After all, they are the Yakuza, and this is war.

The Flower Capital @Ichimonji @Sea

The two Spada pirates walked the streets of the Flower Capital, taking notice of the severe tragedy that the capital exuded. Absolutely lifelessness, something La Spada knew all about. Akira, ever-cautious, had considered the possibility that not everyone was dead, but that they were hiding inside houses - hiding from the heat and the beaming rays of sunlight. And Akira was spot on in his assessment. The only person that was out on the streets, was a young girl, unconscious or barely conscious, laying down on the dirt. Upon seeing the little girl, La Spada's evil nature immediately surfaced, her wrathful emotions tingling what would be her skin, if she had any. Twofold were La Spada's mischievous actions. First, she provoked her own subordinate, messing with him. Then, she went on to the girl. La Spada's actions seemed generous, though Akira likely knew that was only at face value.

Using her ice powers and then her Fiero, La Spada created ice and then melted it, creating gold out of thin air. It was not literal gold, but it was worth and sought-after even more than actual gold, here in Wano, given the circumstances. Drops of water dropped into the girl's mouth, and her eyes squinted. She licked her lips softly, and some water and saliva finally hydrated the inside of her mouth. She gulped once, and her eyes opened, seeing The Grim in front of her. Too exhausted to be startled, the girl instead spoke softly, barely able to muster enough strength to speak, much less act afraid.

W-water... p-please. M-my m-mother...

The girl said, showing incredible maturity for her age. Despite the fact that the girl had not had any water in almost 50 hours, and now finally got to taste some, it did not invoke greed. Instead, she wanted to help her mother. The young girl was ready to die for her mother.

P-please...

The girl said, her shaking arm slowly elevating. She pointed with her finger to a small shack down the street, where her mother was. Would La Spada help? Or would she show her wrathful nature already? Whatever it was that she would do, La Spada was being watched. But not by anyone high up. No. By curious townsfolk. They had noticed from their houses what was going on in the street. Staying inside and watching through the windows, the townsfolk couldn't believe their eyes. A cloaked mage that was able to spawn water from thin air.

Kuri @tlgRen

The two women, Uteki and Ai, walked downstream, seeing a boy gathering water. They also noticed the small village up ahead. Ai, supposedly better with children between the two, walked up to the boy, asking if he needed any help. What could Ai expect? A cruel pirate ruled the island. A severe drought ate away at people's lives. Rivers and animals therein were polluted to the point of being turned poisonous. And this stranger asked if she could offer help? What could she possibly do? Some could even take her offer as an insult to the wound. A young boy, having to bite off more than he can chew. He did not need this. He did not sign up for this. He was a kid, to be taken care of by his parents. And instead, he was the one who had to help take care of a whole village.

And yet, when Ai offered help, what came was surprising. The boy, hearing a woman's voice from behind him, turned around with the largest of smiles on his face. Setting the water that he had gathered down on the ground, the boy wiped the sweat off of his forehead and with a grin, he replied.

Phew! Thank god! Yes, I need help, lady! Thank you!

The boy said, rolling up his sleeves.

The name's Yahiko!

The boy said, smiling. He took off another 5 gourds that were mounted on his back and set them on the ground.

All of these need to be filled up and taken back home. Thank you lady! What's your name?

Yahiko said, proceeding to start filling up a second gourd.

Hakumai @QuickZilver708

Kallavan's ship approached the only port that one could deem a ''weak point'' in Wano's current setting. A skeleton crew of two men manned the port. And yet, despite the clear weakness, Kallavan did not opt to take the port by storm. He could likely kill the two men on the spot, and enter the country unnoticed. However, the Vice Admiral went with a more on the low approach. Disguising themselves as a merchant ship, Kallavan and his crew docked in the port and at some point likely disembarked the ship. The two men awaited them in the port, asking for clarifications and identification. Kallavan's private took charge, while Kallavan himself stayed on the side, disguised as a tourist.

Who are you? State your business of order.

One of the two men said, and Kallavan's private obliged. He explained that they had heard of Wano's struggles, and they came here to set up a merchant connection. A merchant point through which supplies, especially water, could be delivered to Wano. The story checked out, and what the ''merchants'' had to offer was certainly something that Wano, in their current state, could not afford to dismiss. Having said that, the two men manning the port did not have authorization to see this through on their own. In this heightened state of emergency, Kaido had already predicted that danger could come knocking on their door at any moment. Danger in the form of invaders. And so, one of the two men spoke, clarifying what had to be done.

If you wish to set up trade with Wano, you will need to discuss it with the Shogun. However, we need to check you for weapons. Then, you will be escorted to see him.

The man clarified. With a sharp eye, he observed the merchants' reaction.

Sasaki shouted while waiving with his hand, asking the Yakuza who they were. He was nonchalant and almost childish in his approach, the smile on his wrinkled face almost unnerving. But that was how a confident man was.

Even dead center in enemy territory, Sasaki did not seem worried or nervous at all. The Yakuza up on the walls did not take kind to Sasaki's intrusion, immediately arming themselves, some with katanas while others with guns. The ones armed with guns piqued Sasaki's interest, for he had never seen samurai wielding guns. Were these not samurai? If so, what were they? Wano was, indeed, a country of samurai after all. Those thoughts were on Sasaki's mind, but for now, he had to answer. He was being threatened after all.

The name is Sasaki! I'm here to slay a dragon!

Sasaki said, a drop of sweat rolling down the back of Leo's head comically. Was this guy for real? Talk about straightforward. At this point, Sasaki's left arm had fallen down and his left hand was softly resting on the hilt of the katana sheathed on his left hip. There was no aggression coming from Sasaki, or bloodlust for that matter. How would the Yakuza react to Sasaki's rater blunt admission? What side were the Yakuza on? It was hard to say, but without a doubt, the next few seconds would knock Leo's and Sasaki's paths one way or another.

Unbeknownst to the two princes of the old kingdoms, aboard the tiny vessel, the King of all the Beasts, Kaido is drawing nearer. Time is of the essence. As the sea surrounding Wano Kuni conspired with the gods, the paramount of waves engulfed each other, making it difficult for them to cross. That is if they remained on the same vessel. However, destiny called it. Seconds ago they were planning to procrastinate, the next few seconds, a flagship bearing the symbol of Kaido's fleet was spotted by Namor approaching their direction. A mountainous height that abruptly cast its shadow over a large portion of the sea.

"Landayan! Look what we have here."

The Gambit turned to where the other prince's head was looking at the moment. As the large vessel arrived within their reach, they exchange a brief glance, a notion to finally board the ship and leave their boat floating in the middle of the vast waters.

"Get your things. We are harboring the ship.", Gambit commanded.

Leaping alongside Namor, the two landed on the deck of the ship and they couldn't believe what they saw. Pirates! lying on the deck, tantamount to lifeless bodies. Their skins are dried up so as the wrinkled faces staring at nowhere.

"What in the world was this?", Gambit wondered.

"Apparently, these men suffered from drought. It is as if, their souls were harnessed from within and never returned.", Namor said. "I will search the ship, and find out more."

"Alright, in the meantime, I will take the helm and head to that nearest land."

Minutes later, Namor wouldn't find any sort of healthy crew aboard. "No sign of consciousness. Let me take the helm."

"Yes! you should. I don't want to cross that huge waves.", Gambit responded. "It's quite interesting from here how this country is made of. It's like a giant formation of a mountain with waterfalls surrounding the island apart from these angry waves. No wonder why no other nation has dared to cross it."

"So it's not the waves the seemed to be the only problem? I could handle that.", Namor bragged.

Minutes later, Namor was steering the wheel left and right, something Gambit has never seen before. Even T-Bag did not have this level of seamanship. It's like he making the rudder dance with the water so swiftly that it negates whatever wave the sea is blasting against the wooden vessel. And once they finally cross the waves, it cleared, for they would face another hurdle. And that's to climb up the waterfalls in order to make land.

Quickly, Namor spotted giant carps cursing upstream. And having been a Fishman himself, he immediately understood what was going on.

So that's it. He thought.

Namor: "Landayan! I need you to take the helm and I will propel the ship upstream using the water and with the help of those fishes."

Gambit: "???!!!"

The prince of Atlantis harnessed all the available rope attached to the riggings before he jumped into the sea and hurled a huge sum of water around him. When it began to intertwine rapidly, he forces its way towards the stern of the ship, controlling its pressure to avoid damage against it. As it propelled fast, he swam like a mad shark, hungry for blood, and tied dozen of ropes to the carps surfing upwards. And with the last rope, he would grip it as hard as he could and swim his way up to assist.

Landing on the shore, the ship was safe and so were the two princes. "That's quite a show.", Gambit praises.

Finally arriving at the Amigasa Village, they would spot a bamboo forest and a river. But unlike many other rivers, this one looks poisoned basing on its quite darkened surface. Now Gambit, worried if he'd ever meet a lady in Kimino in this ruined place, looked around only to see houses that are made from bamboo fibers that are almost abandoned.

"Where are the ladies!?"

Uteki was listening as the boy, Yahiko, placed the gourds on the ground and said that all five of them needed filling and to be taken back to the village. Her first thought was what was the state of the village that such a small child would be tasked with something so labor intensive. She wondered if the villagers would even be the type to appreciate help. Still, he seemed cheerful enough. So it was probably okay. Ai was already grabbing one of the gourds and walking it to the river too.

"Call me Ai. My partner over there is Uteki."

Uteki let out a small sigh and walked over. She wasn't sure if revealing their names was a good idea, but they were planning to make a splash in a confrontation with Kaido so it's not like it would've mattered in the end anyways. She grabbed two gourds and walked towards the river.

"We gonna be able to take these all in one trip?"

She made it to the river and dipped the first gourd in. Once it was filled she placed it down and repeated the process with the second one.

Akira had kept his cool, much to La Spada’s quiet chagrin. The Grim scoffed as she woke the child up by creating water. The girl awoke. She pointed to a shack and asked to spare her mother. There was what La Spada wanted, what she savored: the height of vulnerability.

La Spada rose her hand, her eyes glowed with killer intent. Zalera tried to speak up to explain tact was needed, but stopped; he was afraid. With a chuckle, the Grim’s boney fingers came down upon the girl’s face.

[Akira] “She has better use alive than dead.”
La Spada’s fingers stopped inches from the girl. Instead, more water poured from the Grim’s hand, going into the girl’s mouth. Perhaps Zalera didn’t have the clout to stop La Spada - but Akira, a Mayhem, did. The Grim softly put the girl down and turned to Akira. Her anger was bubbling, but Alira had a point.

[La Spada] “Fine... Keep your humanity. I shall take it from yah’ yet.”
Zalera did not waste this opportunity. He immediately turned to the shack and knocked. The Grim turned to the shack and walked towards it, leaving the girl in the street like roadkill. If Akira wanted to pick the girl and take her to the shack, it’s be up to him. Chances are, La Spada would kill the girl’s if she touched her again.

This was more of a chess game for Akira and Zalera. They had to figure out a way to have The Grim cooperate, to keep her from her never-ending desire: to kill.

Kallavan, for now, remained at the sidelines looking as the patrol of two men came to inspect their ship their story checked but the two guards insisted that if they wanted to set up trade with Wano they had to discuss it with the Shogun. First, a check for weapons came which the ship captain would show a look of some surprise. " We have some arms laying around but it's mostly for self-defence. Trade ships are attacked every day you know. We shall surrender them during the escort. " The private said as he unholstered his gun and took out the knife that was holstered at his ankle. Kallavan could see that this exchange wouldn't be entirely fruitful and would potentially expose his exit point for the private was the only one with any decent combat capabilities. And thus the admiral also improvised as he injected himself into the conversation. As the risk of the shogun denying them was a possibility and with the ship gone he wouldn't make it back.

"My apologies gentlemen." Kallavan would say as he turned around, waving his hand. His accent sounded warm and soft a complete opposite of the normal Kallavan.

"Isn't there a way we can establish this through a written message? Escorting the crew or the captain for that matter would leave this ship exposed. These men came here through a desire to help but who'll defend this ship once the captain and one of you have left? I've heard some frightening rumours from these sailors that Wano this time of year isn't as safe as it used to be. I'd wager that when word gets out that a merchant ship finally made it here a lot of other parties will be interested in it. Don't you think?" Kallavan said as he continued to lean against the sides of the vessel.

"It'd be unfortunate for the meeting to take place only to come back to a ship that potentially has been looted by a third hidden party. Unless you can guarantee its safety while you escort the captain?" Kallavan said, gambling on the fact that this port was so low in numbers due to the limit of personnel they had.

"Sir...please I'm capable of handling this."
" But he makes a point...I'm the only one with decent combat skills on this vessel.
" The private added to the argument that Kallavan started.

"Doesn't the Shogun have an Emissary so we could discuss these concerns within the quarters of my ship? You may disarm me during the meeting. I have no ill intent here." The private or ship captain for that matter continued.

Akira words managed to influence away La Spada from killing the young girl, it is rather important that the pirates have sufficient information to work with. Being outsiders to the isolated country means that outside of Kaido and the Beast Pirates, they have no idea who is in-charge of who and where. With the incredibly heat searing through the streets, even someone like Akira would start to sweat very quickly. With the young girl left alone by La Spada, Akira would step forward towards the young girl – she is probably the same age as Akira was before everything quite literally went to Hell. However, ensuring that his vulnerability isn’t exploited too much by La Spada, Akira kept up his cold demeanour towards the young girl – his humanity as La Spada puts as such.

“Zalera, get her some water.”

Akira spoke as Zalera knock on a shack where La Spada would followed suit – not paying attention to the Zalera, grabbing the young girl by the arm rather easily towards the shack in the process – at least until it felt like she was able to walk towards the shack on her own. Once everyone has arrived at the shack’s doorstep, Akira would finally speak once more towards the girl.

“What happen to this place?”

As long as La Spada would play nice – they should get relevant information about their current location and more importantly, find out who is in-charge. In the event that Zalera did not provide water for the girl, Akira would provide his – though Zalera himself would probably not like that to happen as the saying goes: the ones that are the ‘nicest’ are the scariest after all. Regardless of this – the girl can always make her way to the port to get water and purify it herself.

Sasaki would find himself in a very precarious situation – but the man chose to deal with the situation given with the worse possible answer. An answer that even surprises the Hakumai Yakuza, Sasaki could even see the confusion of the guards looking at each other for a short moment. However, soon afterwards – without any more delays one of the guards posted at the top of the outpost gate would shout an answer as it might have been expected for both Sasaki and Leo. There was no dragons to slay in Udon.

“This man is making fun of us! GET HIM!”

It didn’t take long for the sentries to immediately start firing at Sasaki, with the non-gunner guards in front of Sasaki remaining poised to stay away from the gunfire. There is a level of coordination in which the gunners would not fire if their own were too close to the enemy to prevent friendly fire. This action would also create some sort of alarm – bringing more of the Yakuza into attention. Sasaki could either escape the outpost and find another way, as he would find no one will chase after him if he were to do so, or deal with the guards and continue their way forward, with or without negotiations.

Sasaki's answer was truthful, but it appeared that the Yakuza did not know what he meant, and thought he was making fun of them or taking them for fools. What followed next was a rather rapid escalation. They shouted back at him and then immediately, the sentries started to fire upon Sasaki. In one swift motion, Saski's left hand, which at that point had been resting on the hilt of the sword sheathed on his left hip, suddenly switched over to the hilt of the sword sheathed on his right hip, while his right hand moved down and grabbed the hilt of the sword sheathed on his left hip. In an X-pattern, Sasaki unsheathed both of the swords simultaneously while taking off in a run. Using a zigzag pattern, Sasaki ran around as his loose clothing fluttered in the wind. He made himself a hard target while avoiding all of the bullets. It didn't look like he was having any trouble whatsoever, which showed that he was incredibly quick on his feet.

One Sword Style... 360 Pound Cannon!

Coming to a stop at some point, Sasaki swung the sword in his right hand, unleashing a very large flying blade. The flying blade aimed to hit the top of the wall, destroying that part of the wall while sending all the sentries flying.

The drops of water that hit the young girl's mouth were a life-saver and a life-changer. Her eyes had opened, and she had realized that maybe, just maybe, her mother could be saved as well. Pleading to the cloaked one, the young girl pointed to the shack where her mother was staying. The interaction between La Spada, Zalera and Akira fell on the young girl's deaf ears, figuratively speaking. She was not deaf by any means, but she was still far too weak to be able to keep up with any kind of conversation. Her eyes were blurry, and her ears were ringing. She was cast aside by La Spada. With barely enough strength to lift herself up into a sitting position, the young girl was helped up by Akira, who then also gave her some water and helped walk her to her home. La Spada had gone on ahead, and reached the shack first.

Once the group entered, they would see a relatively modest home. It was not a slum by any means, since they still were in the Flower Capital, but it was clear that it was modest, and the girl's family was not important whatsoever - simply allowed to live in what was a prosperous part of Wano, or rather, used to be.

The girl, slowly but surely, made her way to the bedroom area, where her mother was laying in bed. With just enough strength to get a few words together, the girl pleaded once more.

P-please save my mother, g-great one.

The girl said, looking at La Spada the cloaked one. The girl's admiration for the cloaked one could perhaps surprise La Spada, but what was there to expect? Water was gold in Wano at the moment, and the cloaked one was able to procure it out of thin air. Needless to say, Akira's question had gone unanswered. The girl did not have the focus, strength or knowledge to answer. The Flower Capital had ran out of water, and that was all there was to it. But the young girl was too small to understand why that had happened, or who had caused it. Perhaps the mother, an adult of Wano, would know more.

Kuri -> Okobore Town @tlgRen

Ai helped the boy with a couple of gourds, while also introducing her partner, Uteki. Yahiko, the young boy, nodded and grinned toward Uteki, showing a pleasure of meeting her. When Uteki walked up and filled up another two gourds, she asked if they would bring all of these to the village now. In the meantime, Uteki and Ai also wondered what kind of a village sent a young boy to perform such labor intensive work. Little did Uteki and Ai know, they would soon find out why it was that Yahiko was doing this.

Yea, we need to bring all of it. And even then, it won't be enough.

Yahiko said, mounting one of the gourds on his back and motioning with his hand for Uteki and Ai to follow. The trio would make their way further down the river toward the village. As they were entering, Yahiko spoke.

This is our home, Okobore Town. I was born here.

Yahiko said with some semblance of pride and happiness, though Uteki and Ai, if they could read the room in any way, would be able to notice that there was some pain behind Yahiko's voice. As the trio walked the village, Uteki and Ai would quickly notice that there was just about no one around. No life. No happiness. No people hanging out. If was as if it was the middle of the night, with everyone asleep. But instead, if was the middle of the day, with the sun at the summit of the sky, and its painfully hot rays beaming down everywhere in sight. Making it to the center of the village, Yahiko would motion to Uteki and Ai to enter the shack that they were walking up to. This shack was bigger than all the other ones in the village. Once inside, a rather painful sight would be upon Uteki and Ai. People were bedridden left and right, laying down on the floor next to one another with barely any space inbetween them. Why all of these people were sleeping in the same shack was definitely a question to be asked. But one thing was definitely easy to notice. All of them looked weak, extremely dehydrated, and barely alive. Whether Uteki and Ai asked first or not, Yahiko would explain what was happening to Okobore Town.

These here are the survivors of our village. We ran out of drinkable water and food. I'm the only one left with strength to move...

Yahiko said regretfully, before continuing.

I got everyone together to keep them out of the sunlight, and have them all in the same spot. That way, it's easier on me to take care of them.

He explained. It was not hard to admire this young boy. With how much he was shouldering, it was a miracle that he was able to keep a smile on his face, positivity in his heart, and strength in his legs.

The water I'm gathering is all poisonous to ingest, but it's good enough to clean them and cool them down. I can boil some of the water to kill the bacteria and make it drinkable, but I can't get a big enough fire or big enough pots to create enough drinking water for everyone.

Yahiko explained further, painting the picture of the dire situation. One way or another, it was clear that Yahiko was clinging to hope, but there was no reliable way out. Okobore Town was dying out.

Hakumai @QuickZilver708

Kallavan and his Captain, though that was a fake and false picture of hierarchy that the two had painted, engaged in talks with the two men that manned the port. Their merchant story checked out, but they had to be checked for weapons. Their excuse for carrying weapons checked out as well, and no suspicion had surfaced at that point. Talks of trade would have to go through the Shogun, and the two men made that clear to the merchants. That was where Kallavan and his Captain tried to shift what would have to happen. Voicing concerns of leaving their ship alone to go engage in talks with the Shogun, Kallavan and his Captain said that it was risky to leave their cargo and their ship unattended, especially in the middle of a crisis that had enveloped Wano. The sight of a merchant ship could lure potential hoodlums, and Kallavan and the Captain were not mistaken in those concerns, and they came up with an alternative. An Emissary of the Shogun could be sent to come to the port and engage in talks with Kallavan and the Captain right here, in the port. That would solve all of the issues. Kallavan and the Captain could stay with their cargo, and an effective means of communication with the Shogun, through his emissary, could be established. Unfortunately, that was not a possibility.

Sorry but that's not happening. Due to the severe drought, there is no one that will come all the way here to talk with you. Everyone, including the Shogun, are staying inside, hiding from the heat. A 5 hour walk all the way here would require a lot of energy and water that we currently don't have.

You, on the other hand, have your own supplies. You'll have to make the trip.

So, what'll it be? You coming or not?

One of the two men said, giving Kallavan and the Captain an ultimatum. They had a choice to make, and it wasn't an easy one. But, it did have pros, just like it had cons. Undoubtedly, having to go visit the Shogun could blow their cover and put them in danger. But, at the same time, getting to meet the Shogun could bring a lot of options to Kallavan and the Captain, provided they managed to keep their charade up and their identities hidden, until the right opportunity to strike arose. That ever-available third option was always there, as well, and that was to get rid of these two port agents then and there. A tough choice to make, but one that had to be made.

The sea surrounding Wano -> Kuri @Gambit

The ghost of a ship of the Beast Pirates approached the ship of the two princes. A choice had to be made, to ignore it or board it. One glance was all it took for the two princes to agree, and they jumped over to the Beast Pirates' ship. Once they landed onboard, the severity of what had befallen the vessel became quickly apparent. The crew members that laid around on the deck were all on death's door, some already dead, while most others were extremely dehydrated. Namor asked Gambit to take the helm while he himself looked around the ship. The more Namor walked around, the more he would become certain that there was no one left able to so much as move on this ship. Some breaths and grunts could be heard here and there, but no one posed a threat. With that reassurance, Namor went back up and took the wheel. From there onward, the two princes made their way toward the land of Wano. With masterful helmanship that one could only expect of a Fishman, and the help of some Koi Fish, the two princes brought the Beast Pirates' vessel back ashore, back to Wano.

Due to the Beast Pirates flag on this vessel, they would never be interrupted. Then again, everywhere they sailed up until that point was a ghost town, and even if they sailed their own ship, they wouldn't have crossed anyone, much less caught anyone's attention. Before long, they hit the shore. They found themselves in Kuri, an area of Wano. They disembarked the ship and set foot on land. Looking around, they saw a river, a forest, and way further downstream, a village. Gambit, ever nonchalant and perverted, demanded the universe gave him kimono girls. Unfortunately, he would receive the furthest thing from that.

If their Kenbun-shoku no Hakis were alert, Gambit and Namor would feel a presence suddenly spike up on the ship that they had just brought to land. A loud thud followed, and a crashing noise followed after that. Suddenly, a part of the ship was blown open. From the opening, a large man stumbled into the shallow water next to the ship. The man was exhausted, and it was likely that when Namor had been looking for signs of life on the ship, the man had been far too weak to be noticed. However, when the ship had hit land, the man had awoken. The shadow cast by the large ship enveloped the large man in a silhouette as he fell to his knees in the water. The shallow water reached up to the man's waist. Suddenly, he buried his face into the ocean water and started drinking. He drank and drank as liters of salty ocean water entered his stomach. He exhaled in exhilaration once and drank some more, until he finally had enough. He then stood up and walked out of the water of the ship and set foot on Wano. The silhouette was gone, and the identity of the man became clear.

One of Kaido's three calamities, and one of the four strongest men on Wano. Jack. Spitting some of the salt water out of his mouth, Jack wiped his face and glared at the two men in front of him.

Tsch, finally made it back. Thought I was a dead man.

Jack said.

This will do for now, but the salt in the water will dehydrate me even sooner. I hope Kaido-san found something to drink while I was gone. I just hope he doesn't kill me for failing to bring water back to Wano.

Jack said, revealing what his plan had been. While stranded on his ship, he had run out of strength from extreme dehydration. He knew drinking ocean water was a trap. A trap that lured many a thirsty sailor to their doom. The water was irresistible, but the salt content would dehydrate a person even quicker. Jack knew he could not drink the salt water. But now that he had come back home, and with two enemies in front of him, Jack knew what had to be done. Drink, regain his strength, kill the two enemies, and then find some normal water to drink and save his life.

Backed into the corner and fighting for his life in a hurry, what stood in front of Gambit and Namor was the most dangerous form of Jack. A desperate mammoth that didn't have time to fool around. The time, and the salt that Jack had ingested, were ticking.

Shack in the Capital
The three made their way into the shack, Akira with the young girl in tow. The girl led them past the entryway to the bedroom. In bed was an older woman, bedridden and near death. La Spada could feel her soul soon to leave her body. The drought was real.

Zalera had grabbed a large pan from the kitchen, or any bowl that existed in the house. He turned to La Spada and whispered, only loud enough so Akira could hear.

[Zalera] “Captain. I know you feel the girl’s untapped power. Giving water to her Mom would force the child in our debt. Take behest of The Shadow. History repeats itself.”
Zalera tried to appease La Spada. Like The Grim, Zalera had Awareness observation. Whether he was being honest about feeling the girl’s untapped power was anyone’s guess. What was clear is Zalera, known to be strategic, tried to reign in his Captain’s demeanor. It was often La Spada kept children as slaves, testing them their growth. Those who did not grow were discarded like broken tools.

La Spada’s skeletal hand rose and touched the corner of the bowl. Ice appeared amidst a green light. Fiero made a significant amount of water, filling the bowl. Zalera quickly gave the old woman water until she had her fill, leaving the near full bowl on the nearest table, offering it to the child.

Zalera would leave it to Akira to inquire about the Flower Capital. He dared not overstep over a Mayhem.

La Spada’s were fixated on the girl. Her rotting tongue licked Her boney jaw. The Grim salivated over the girl. Akira knew that look. He had once received that same salivating look.

The attack from the Yakuza would prove to be insufficient for someone of Sasaki’s calibre, as he would simply have unleashed an air blade towards the wall that would dealt with the sentry posted on the walls, however – one of the guards in front of Sasaki would immediately charge at Sasaki just prior to Sasaki unleashing his air blade, aiming to clash against Sasaki’s sword like a samurai would have done. However, before he was able to do, the air blade simply broke through him and into the wall, pretty much defeating him instantly – dead by the looks of it. Upon slicing through the wall, destroying the section of the wall and blowing the sentries away. This action serves not only to deter the Yakuzas in front of him as well as others whom now stopped firing – shocked by the events that just transpired, Sasaki’s actions also draws more people to the scene which leads to more Yakuzas coming in, more sentries from the other sections of the wall quickly came to reinforce the wall and quickly returned fire back at Sasaki, the situation have become more and more complicated.

“What is going on?!”

Back within the outpost, a
man not clad in any of the samurai armour came running, questioning nearby members on the situation as there are shouting and chaos around. One of the Yakuza quickly replied as he was running towards the fight, planning to reinforce his fellow members.

“Yamato-san! There is a powerful man at the front of the outpost, apparently his here to make fun of us!”

“He said his here to kill a dragon! There are no dragons here! He must be hired by the Kibi group to attack us! DAMN THE KIBI!”

Another shouted nearby as he ran forward to the now-destroyed wall. Looking at the damage posed by a single man, the man would quickly command the troops to stand down, which slowly prompted the sentries to stop firing very quickly, prompting confusion amongst those at the fighting area. Eventually, the very same man, the lieutenant of the Yakuza group would make his way to the wall, ordering more to stand down.

“All of you, stand down. You! They say you are here to kill a Dragon, there is no Dragon here – only a prison and a war. So let me ask you. Why are you here?”

The man in a commanding tone – spoke to Sasaki, while he seems to be unfazed by it, the reality stands that they are in a war and there’s no reason to lose any more people to unnecessary conflicts, considering they have already lost one outside the outpost and several was injured from the attack.

Unfortunately for Akira, his question went unanswered, as the girl would instead plead with them, asking quite specifically for La Spada to save her mother. It wasn’t necessary a surprise, considering the situation of this place. As La Spada would respond to the girl’s requests, effectively placing her into a debt – it was essentially a deal with the Devil, with unforeseen consequences. Almost everybody of the Spada Pirate is aware the consequences, and the gaze of their captain makes it even easier to ascertain. Leaving Zalera and La Spada alone to their conversation, Akira makes no desire to continue their conversation, this is how Spada Pirates operate – there is no reason for him to intervene further than he have to. He would expect La Spada to attempt to poke a reaction from him using the girl once more, something he would not look forward to. That said, leaving them to be the Messiah of this city would be helpful as long as La Spada manage to acquire information. Akira however, would start unpacking his equipment, and started to wear his actual outfit – to be the Shadow of the Grim Reaper, wrapping his face in black bandages and a black outfit to boot. Changing at a place where nobody would be able to see from their angle unless intentionally move to do so. Once changed, Akira would step towards the door, fully prepared.

“I will investigate this city.”

Despite the drought, they have to act fast – but also conservatively, it is probably better that his face isn’t fully exposed, if there are any enemies they would likely intervene soon and that is what Akira hopes. The first order of business is to look at places that are large and wealthy – there will definitely be people worth checking up on. Opening the door, Akira started to move in a manner that is quick but look out for shade to help mitigate the effects of the drought, even if very slightly as he looks around the city. Though eventually Akira would have to return to La Spada fairly soon, especially in this drought.

Gambit wondered for a brief moment about the place they landed in. But everything is ruined just like how ruined the ship they boarded on. Namor was looking closely at the river and at the ship and in his head, he wanted to help the enemy pirates. But he wasn't in command.

"What are we gonna do now, Landayan?"

Gambit turned to him, "Let's go to the capital. Maybe all the kimono ladies are there. This place is a ghost town."

As they started to walk, a crashing noise emerged from the ship. When the two princes turned around, parts of the ship splintered open. From there, a figure tossed himself into the river. From the looks of it, he was definitely as dead as the other pirates aboard the vessel.

How come did Namor never sense it? , Gambit thought of.

Seconds later, the creature they're looking at would appear as if had plunged completely but in reality, he was rehydrating himself. And then.

"He is big...", Namor commented when the man identified himself inadvertently.

"I. I know who that man is.", Gambit said, eyes narrowing. "Jack the Drought!"

Namor would approach the living mammoth, "Hey you! You could thank us for landing your ship back here. I am Namor, Prince of Atlantis."

He turned to Gambit, gesturing his palm sideward, "And this one here, Prince Landayan of th-"

"Hundred Years of Solitude!"

Gambit dashed forth Jack while simultaneously invoking the scythe within his cane. And as he catapulted, he outstretched his right arm before swinging the weapon across the air, aiming at the big torso of the beast in front of him.

Hundred Years of Solitude: Gambit dashes forth the opponent and lands a deadly slash.

Sasaki's massive flying slash demolished the upper part of the wall, as well as sent the sentries flying. One of the men got in his way and was accidentally hit and defeated. Fearing that he might have put the man down for good, Sasaki grunted.

Tsch, I hope he's ok... who jumps in front of my attack?

Sasaki wondered to himself. As quickly as he had defeated the sentries, more came as reinforcements, and without pause, Sasaki was once again under fire. Pulling his third sword off of his back, Sasaki put it in his mouth and bent his knees. A strange kind of swordsmanship, but the Yakuza would come to find out very quickly on just what level Sasaki's swordsmanship was. Pushing off with his right foot, Sasaki spun around, swinging his three swords.

Kokujō: Ō Tatsu Maki...!

His swings summoned a massive tornado filled with flying slashes and winds. The tornado surrounded Sasaki and rose up into the air, acting as a barrier that deflected all of the projectiles quite easily. When the Yakuzas started to stand down, Sasaki's tornado dispersed and he sheathed his three swords in one fluid motion, standing in the middle of the destruction that the tornado had caused. One that looked like the leader of the Yakuzas spoke up, saying that there was no dragon here, just a prison and war. He then once again questioned Sasaki why he was here. Embarrassed that he had to give the same - truthful - answer, Sasaki spoke awkwardly.

Gah, I really am here to slay a dragon. You guys sure you got no clue where he is?

Sasaki said, before changing the topic to avoid any further immediate fighting.

Anyway, what's this about a prison? Are they normal prisoners, or prisoners of war?

Sasaki questioned. All the while, Leo was still standing in the background, just listening, his hands pocketed and his posture showing no hostility. He didn't stand out much for now.

The La Spada pirates heeded the young girl's request, accompanying her to her home, where her mother laid on death's door. The girl didn't know it, but she was bringing death itself into her home, and she was making a deal with the Devil. Seeing the dying mother, La Spada made use of a bowl and, summoning ice and then fire, she created water, filling the bowl. The young girl's eyes were in disbelief. The cloaked one of the unknown, was performing a miracle right in front of her once more. The water was then given to the young girl's mother. The mother could not drink all of it, nor would she be advised to do so, or expected to recover immediately. Recovery took time, and rushing it could have and would have been overwhelming. But none of that mattered. With water in the home, it was clear that the mother would be saved, and the young girl would be too.

Slowly elevating into a sitting position in her bed, the mother thanked the cloaked stranger. Akira, who in the meantime had gotten changed, then left, stating that he would investigate the city. As Akira was gone, the mother, finally with strength to speak, started to do so.

T-thank you, stranger. You have saved our lives, how could we ever repay you...

The mother said, not realizing that what she had just said about repaying the cloaked one, would be music to the cloaked one's ears. The mother continued.

All that you see here is the fault of that beast... He took our prosperous country from us, and turned it into a poisoned wasteland. Mother nature is trying to get rid of him, but we will all be forced to go with him.

The mother said, speaking of Kaido and the drought.

You have the power to save us all. What I have just seen you do is nothing short of god's grace and miracle.

The woman said. As the talk continued, Akira would come back rather shortly, having realized that there was nothing much to do in the Flower Capital, or see. It was, just as they had initially figured, a dying place. However, shortly after Akira's return, things started to unravel quickly. The people of the city had seen La Spada's miracle earlier in the street, having watched from the windows of their homes. The neighbors of the young girl and the mother, saw and heard what was happening in their home as well. Thirsty for water, the citizens surrounded the home, wielding swords. They were not samurai at all, but anyone in Wano was able to wield a sword at least to an extent. Like an angry mob of zombies, they stood outside surrounding the home. The first of them screamed.

WE SAW WHAT YOU DID! WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED! IF YOU WANT TO LIVE, MAKE US WATER!

The citizens demanded. Severe thirst made them lose any form of pragmatism, and they resorted to threats immediately. Their lives were running out, and they knew it.

Jack the Drought, one of the plagues of the Beast Pirates and one of Kaido's three strongest subordinates, bust his way out of the ship, stepping into the water. Filling his belly with the liquid of the gods, as dangerous as it was, he regained his strength. Staring down the two princes, Namor spoke out first, stating that Jack had some thanking to do. The two princes had brought Jack's ship back to Wano, and he was to be grateful for it. Namor then introduced himself as Prince of Atlantis, and then went on to introduce Gambit. However, before he could finish doing so, Gambit sprang into action, dashing toward Jack and swinging his scythe. Jack rose his left arm, using the forearm to block the scythe. Black Busou-shoku no Haki clad Jack's arm, and between the Busou-shoku no Haki and the sturdiness of his body, he was able to use his bare forearm to block the bladed weapon.

The muscles in Jack's blocking arm suddenly bulked up and Jack swung his blocking arm outward, pushing Gambit away. With a menacing look and a deep voice, Jack spoke.

I should thank you huh?

I guess that makes some sense. You did bring me back to Wano...

... but, you got guts attacking me, the great Jack the Drought!

Jack said, showing appreciation, but at the same time, anger that Gambit had attacked him. The reason why Jack was being somewhat appreciative, would come to light immediately. He had an ulterior interest in Namor.

Prince of Atlantis huh... well then, how about we make a deal?

As head of your nation, order your men to bring water to Wano. If you do so, I'm sure you will earn friendship with our Captain. You know who he is, don't you?

Jack said, negotiating. Would Gambit and Namor see any benefit in negotiating with the Beast Pirates, or would Gambit continue to display aggression? Was there any reason why he attacked Jack immediately? Was it fear of his reputation, or was there a common history between the two? Jack, for one, clearly wouldn't remember such a thing.

Kallavan's first proposal was met with a negative answer for the severe drought no one dared risk venturing for long periods of time out in the open. Foreigners could provide for themselves during the trip. The people of Wano, unfortunately, could not. The choice to dispatch these men was never really an option in Kallavan's mind. While he upheld a rather strict sense of justice and was a faithful ally to the government he was only his ruthless self while in contact with actual evil or pirates. When there was even the slightest doubt that these people were regular civilians he'd refrain from dealing a deadly blow. A man of the common people but a devil to those who stray from the right path. With a deep sigh, Kallavan would shrug his shoulders, motioning towards the captain that there wasn't much else they could do. And so the captain agreed to the proposal of the men to go meet the shogun.

Before they ventured Kallavan packed his back for some travel supplies as did the captain who briefed his crew. Kallavan in the meantime would move towards the guards and spoke once more. "If at all possible I'd like to ask for some sort of guard duty around our vessel. I'd hate for this trip to be pointless when we potentially return to a looted vessel. These men came a very long way. It'd be a shame to see it all go to waste." Kallavan said as he hosted one end of his back over his right shoulder, keeping it in place on his back. With his left hand in his pocket, the respectable commander could not be distinguished from a regular adventurer.

Let's just hope no one on this island is capable of recognizing me. I genuinely doubt it but there is no harm in hoping. - Kallavan thought to himself as he waited for the captain to depart alongside him.

Shack in the Capital
Water of life. With time and drink, the mother sat up. The girl beamed. The Grim had performed a miracle. It was then the mother spoke words that, unbeknown to her, would spell her daughter’s fate. La Spada’s grin came wide, enough for her teeth to beam from the cloak. Payment.

[La Spada] “Yah’ debt is paid. Yah’ daughter shall never again be wanting.“
[La Spada] “Come, child. Let us fill this house with water. That your mother may live. Zehahahahahha....”
With those words, La Spada leftt the room. The child would feel an ice cold skeletal hand grab hers, leading her to the kitchen. At the daughter’s direction, La Spada would create more water for the family.

Zalera knew why. One, to keep the child indebted and admiring of the Grin. Two, a more sinister truth. A house with water - a water trough to keep the mother healthy like a pig to the slaughter. Torture of the mind surpasses those of the body. So that the mother would realize she traded her daughter for water, for a day of life. Regret of the mind creating palpable torture - La Spada knew the torture regret well.

Even Zalera took a second to accept his Captain’s actions. He turned to the mother and curled a gentle smile, a well hidden farce. His mission was information.

[Zalera] “The Beast Pirates came to our homeland as well. Now it is a dead land! We’ve lost everything because of them! My face... my family... OUR VERY LIVES!!
Zalera had bowed his head, revealing his burnt skin, a gruesome sight. Real tears came from his red eyes. A world class act. In an attempt to have the mother identify with them, Zalera lied about what the Beast Pirates had done to them. He neeeded the mother to trust them. First water, then a promise to protect her child, and now a shared experience of loss.
[Zalera] “We’ve heard of the drought. We’ve come to liberate your people and repay The Beast Pirates two-fold.“
[Zalera] “We will save this town from the drought. We only seek your help in helping us ally with the land rid of the beast. Tell me, what do you know about those who rule the capitol? What can you tell us?”
[Zalera] “YOUR PEOPLE AND MINE DESERVE TO LIVE!”
Those last words were loud enough to shake the whole shack and be heard outside. The people rallying would hear. La Spada and the child stayed inside. Akira dealt with the revolt.

Gambit advanced to Jack with his dashing slash but as soon as he got there, it was caught by Jack's left arm, fortified with Armament Haki. Pushing the bladed weapon, Gambit glided back through the air several meters away. Unharmed, the mammoth spoke. The two princes lent their ears.

"You're welcome.", Namor acknowledged. "If drought is the main issue, I certainly could lend you some salted water and the price you offer is quite tempting. Alliance with the king of all the beasts himself, Kaido, one of the emperors of the seas."

Gambit was staring at Jack while listening to Namor's haggling. He said, fiercely and condescending. "You should be rather thankful that I greeted you with such aggression. I've heard of stories of how formidable you are. I needed to test the depths of the water. After all, it is your current misfortune. And I don't feel that a mere alliance equate to the answer to that."

Gambit grinned and eventually lit a cigarette. As he puffed, he would be waiting for the other to respond. "Jack, I didn't mean no offense, but in your current state, it's either you'll crawl back to your stall or not make it out here at all."

Gust of wind blew past them. The breeze channeled a serenade across the river. And as the clouds above covered the sun, it cast shadow to the land. When it settled back to sunshine, only Jack could pacify the evolving dispute.
