Just something I felt inspired to write... might be a poem in the collection, might not.
Doors
I see a red door
And I take it as a sign that my time is near
I see a blue door
And I wonder how many doors I have left in my lifetime
I see a green door, and it’s opening
What’s next for me? I tell you, I don’t know!
Leading experts say anything to placate
Well I’m sorry if you haven’t noticed, but I don’t feel too great
There’s this thing called my brain and you can mix it like a stew
Maybe get back to your research, I’m sure it could happen to you
I see a yellow door
And all that that implies
I see a cyan door
Where did the time go? It was right here a minute ago…
I see a magenta door, well isn’t that great
I suppose there’s nothing you can do for me, is there?
Know the river in my mind, wherever shall it wind?
As the reaper comes for me, I’ll see what I can find
Spending maybe an age or two drifting through the foam
Only my sense of self left to know whereabouts I roam
Hold on, which door is open, which door for me?
What lies behind that former tree?
Not yet blind but I still can’t see
It’s time to let my consciousness free

So long yet so far
Here is what we are
A long over due
I forgot all of you
Depressed and so sad
How could I be so bad
I waited too long
So much has gone wrong
Where did you all go
Oh my I've been so
In sadness I cry
Hope it's not a goodbye
What have I done
Have I been too far gone
When did I see you
It's too long overdue
