It was different from the Ringo traditions.
He burried the destroyed Sword. Ringo traditions is that the Samurai end up getting burried together with their swords. (I wouldn't be suorised, if Ringo Samurais had to make seppuku If their swords break).
But definetly Zoro learned a lot about Wano traditions. I mean Koushiru is most likely also a member of Shimotsuki family (I mean the Village where his Dojo is, is called Shimotsuki Village).
Koshirou being a member of Shimotsuki family let me doubt that Zoro is part of it. So Zoro neither Origins neither Ringo nor Hakumai. Thats why I also doubt Koshirou teached him Sunnachi.
Could it be that Zoro was trained by someone else before joining Koushiros dojo? Maybe by his own father? Who learned about Sunnachi from his father and so on.
So I really start to think Zoros ancestors from Kuri. Another hint is that Zoro is the only one able to feel the curse of Kitetsu swords. Maybe Kitetsu swords are the reason His family fall and left Kuri, ending up with Kuri becoming a wasteland.Maybe during the time Wano was known as the Land of gold, Wano was lead by three families
- Kozuki (center)
- Shimotsuki (east)
- Roronoa (west, not necessary named Roronoa but you know what I mean)
And post Wano his 3 swords might end up representing these 3 families
- Enma - Kozuki
- Wado Ichi Monji - Shimotsuki
- Kitetsu - Roronoa
Will later right it down as theory and back up everything with panels.
