King's Landing Assault #13 @Sea

Moving toward the fort Manaka absently noticed the chimney-like protrusions, though none of them seemed to be emitting smoke at the moment. Perhaps she had been mistaken in her previous assumptions, she could not afford to leave this job unfinished, if that was the case. Her train of thought was cut short however as she realized she had lost track of her foe. Looking back, she saw Oswell having leapt into the air, his sword coming down on her.

Flipping around mid air, she lifted her scalpel up, channeling her haki through her blade(+1 DPR). Slapping the small weapon against the large blade, she was able to protect herself against the strike, though the force of the strike sent her flying even faster towards the fort even faster. Hoping that Oswell would be delayed for the moment before landing on the ground again, Manaka flipped around and aimed her trajectory upwards to one of the windows of the building, hoping to make her way inside that way.

___________________________________________________

His ropes freed from the feet of Barristan and the shield flying directly towards him, Zahel allowed it to crash into him, but also jump backwards, creating some space, as he didn't want to leave himself open to attacks from the knight. Though he wasn't aware of the attack, he would not have been surprised by the swipe aimed at his legs, and unlike the other man, Zahel knew - looking at Larsi and his opponents - that he would win if he survived.

As he landed a few more meters away, Zahel swung his arm to toss the shield away, hopefully far enough that his foe would decide retrieving it would not be beneficial. His arms free, he reset his stance and faced his foe again, blade ready in both hands, the ropes from his left hand hanging free and ready, though it seemed his captain was almost done wrapping up his fight.

As Gerold was sent flying Larsi straightened his body and placed the jutte in his right hand onto his back, freeing it up. Sensing that Gerold was out of the count for now, the giant grabbed the loose end of the chain that held Lewyn, tightening it further. While turning his attention toward the last of the remaining knights, Larsi started pulling at the chain. Although it would be slightly uncomfortable for himself, the force of the links pressing down on Lewyn would be far more, crushing him from all sides. It would likely not take long for the man to lose consciousness, or worse.

Alright, ser. Larsi said, referring to Barristan's title. I have still not killed anyone here, though that may change depending on your response. I simply request an audience with your king, to negotiate his surrender. Lead me to him and you will all live, I will call off the ships even.

Larsi wasn't hopeful, but he owed it to Zahel to at least give Barristan the option. Even as he spoke, he tightened the chain more and more, walking closer to Zahel and the knight.

KG's attack barreled violently towards the group of Sunspearian soldiers. If they tried to avoid the attack it would only destroy the very castle they fought so hard to protect. The knights got into a tight defensive formation, raising their shields they intended to clash with the incoming attack head on. One would say this act was sucidal, but the men of Sunspear were willing to protect their King's castle at any cost.

Boston Horizon would make contact. Their formation would hold for only a few seconds before being completely decimated by it's rage imbued power. A powerful shockwave would follow before the attack dissipated. Dust, smoke and debris polluted the air as Cletus arrived, landing on his feet with a thud.

"Thas for Koza you sons of bitches." KG said before reconnecting his axe to his waist.

The Lunarian looked around, taking in the signs of heavy battle and destruction. Janemba and Freiza were nowhere to be seen, most likely using the choas to search for Muk. His lack of strength was the only thing plaguing his mind.

"Things would have went smoother if I was strong enough." said more to himself than anyone else.

As the dust cleared, the knights of Sunspear lay on the ground dead of riddled with injuries. Incapacitated. But only one man remained. The general who took down Koza. The man's body was riddled with injuries, blood leaking from every inch of his being. One of his arms was lost to KG, while the one that remained held onto his spear tightly. He stood proudly, coughing up blood. He still had fight left in him.

Cletus turned to the man with a smirk. An opportunity for vengeance, yes his state of mind couldn't find the motivation. Still they had a job to finish.

"Your strength is admirable General! But it's time to sleep now. I'll remember this battle at Sunspear for the rest of my life."

The Lunarian concentrated his ignite and Haki into his palm, before lunging forward at his top speed. A massive sphere of flame, brimming with Black Busoshoko. The same attack that finished off Aero Hotah, will now finish Oberyn. Cletus attempted to slam it in the enemy general. No hesitation in his movements.

Town Fort
Manaka would continue her way to the roof of the fort, quickly noting the strange chimney-like protrusions atop the fort, but before she could focus upon her own objectives Oswell aimed to strike her down. Quickly utilized her Haki-infused scalpel she blocked against the strike though the slightly stronger force from Oswell’s strike pushes her back – allowing Manaka to be sent towards a window behind her. A glass window would eventually be in her trajectory that should she chose to continue on, would crash into the glass window, shattering the transparent material as she would find herself in the fort itself though the crashing of the windows would cause an alarm to her location fairly quickly given the loud shattering sound. But no matter, Manaka now has bought herself time – that her objective is now within the fort without Oswell’s presence at the moment. The suspicious chimney-like protrusions would be rather around the centre of the fort, that she now would have to fight her way towards that point to look for it.

Around the centre of the fort stood several large pillars, circular in nature – around it a magnitudes of ammunitions laid around alongside troops though well-stored to prevent accidents by normal means. Upon closer inspections, one may eventually notice this aren’t just pillars but in fact cannons with machinery all fitted together. This is the main artillery cannons that they have sort after. And when Manaka arrives, her objective too shall be within reach.

Castle
The battle between Barristan and Zahel continues in a stalemate, neither side really managing to tilt the fight to their favour, with Zahel only managing to remove the shield from Barristan. Effectively in a standstill, the fight would seem to continue for long but with Larsi managing to take out Gerold and tying up the other. The fight seems to be essentially all but over. Negotiations were requested by Larsi though only for surrender. A typical pirate or aggressor would want. Yet power is on their side.

“W-We would ne--”

Despite being tightly chained up Larsi, Lewyn barely is able speak but the anger in his tone is more than likely a rejection of such. Barristan himself naturally would be the same. But before any words are spoken, explosions could be heard within the castle building itself out of a sudden. And before long, a lone knight came out from the castle doors to the courtyard – badly injured, limping towards the rest of the knights outside, prompting attention from essentially everyone before falling onto his knees.

“S-Ser! The P-Prince….!”

The knight took all of his strength to raise his voice, something had happened to the Prince, but before he could finish his words the Knight drew his final breath as he fell onto the ground. Chaos and confusion arise, a group of knights would quickly run into the castle, Barristan himself knew what he had to do. He has no choice but to retreat from the fight and back to the castle to see what is happening out of a sudden, ignoring the negotiation – Barristan quickly made his way back to the castle. With the confusion and chaos, this now means that the courtyard defence is completely routed.

Without either of the powerful knights, the remaining knights would still attempt to defend the castle but any attempted approach by Larsi would be met with fear, hesitation – unwillingness to actually fight without more reinforcements. Ultimately, should they attempt to enter the castle – perhaps outside of a few defenders they would find the path relatively speaking, opened. The moment any of them steps into the castle, they would find many knights taken out, dead. The castle filled with blood and carnage from corridor to corridor. Even without knowing where is the throne room which is where the King would be, the trail of corpse is enough to eventually lead them to the throne room. Closed doors would stand between the throne room and the pirates, sounds are loud. Shouting and sounds of metal hitting each other.

But what laid beyond the doors to the throne room?

@Mr. Anderson @Ebuk
The defeat of Oberyn signalled the collapse of the Sunspears, for there is no stronger being in Sunspear capable of resisting the might of the Vampirates, laid near death – Cletus decided to take him out as well, in one single strike. A powerful blast of fire that would be laid bare against the man. Without hesitation, Oberyn soon, would be burnt to ash. With the remains of the defender gone, all that is left is the King.

Regardless of how many they decide to enter the castle with – they would soon find out quite literally beyond the doors are citizens, civilians would take refuge within the castle’s protection. And that realization would more than likely hit the Silver Vampirates, the sacrifice of the soldiers and Oberyn – had they not put their lives forward would more than likely result in the deaths of civilian by KG’s attack. A long corridor filled with civilians, elderly, children, adults. No matter the case, fear; anger; resentment. The eyes of the citizens were fierce. The Vampirates were not welcomed here. In front of them is large doors into a larger room – the throne room, though there it is almost completely filled with civilians as well. The Sunspears has managed to protect their citizens very quickly, doing as much as possible as they could to buy time.

Through the throne room, Cletus would likely find King Martell, indicated by his crown. Around him are only a couple of soldiers, whom quickly took up arms to defend their King, whom quickly raised his sword as well. They stood between the pirates and the civilians.

“We would not bow to your tyranny, Pirates!”

The King spoke, his words are strong yet behind those words is the revelation of the end. The Sunspears has lost, and the people knew it. The King knew it. But the King would not falter easily. The lives of his people, their freedom lies upon him. The curtain has fallen. The end of the invasion is coming to an end.

Oberyn was engulfed in an explosion of flame. The general was turned to ash. The final wall between the Vampirates and the Sunspear castle was no more. Janemba and Frieza had found Muk's body and proceeded to retrieve it, while Koza's lay still, unconcious from the damage he received. With a deep breath, Cletus turned to KG and spoke.

"Take care of Koza. I'll go in and deal with the King on my own." He said grimly.

The giant nodded silently before walking over and tending to Koza, leaving the Lunarian to handle his business. Cletus turned around and boldly walked through the doors of the castle. Inside, he would find all of Sunspear's civilians within, taking refuge from the invasion that was happening outside. The Lunarian would come to the realization that had KG's attack reached the castle, it would have results of innocent. The General sacrificed his life for his country and the lives of his people. His respect for him grew even more, even if he barely knew him at all.

He walked through the long corridor filled to the brim with the citizens of Sunspear. Their eye's were fierce. Anger. Fear. Resentment. One of the pirates that had brought choas to their home and defeated their beloved generals stood before them and there was nothing they could do to stop him.
Finally he had arrived at a set of large doors. This must be it.

"This must be the throne room." Cletus said to himself quietly. He stepped through the doors.

The larger room was also filled to the brim with civilians. A testament to how well and quickly they responded to the threat. The lunarian spot the king of this country, surrounded by his knights. They quickly took up arms to defend their king, and he quickly raised his sword as well.

“We would not bow to your tyranny, Pirates!” The king spoke strongly. He refused to falter, even in the face of utter defeat. Cletus would only fold his arms with a smile.

"Fufufufufufufu...You've lost your army and your generals. Neither you nor your remaining military are strong enough to beat any of us, so don't even try. Drop your treasure and save your lives! The Kingdom of Sunspear now belongs to the Silver Vampirates!"

Flames flared from the Lunarian's body as he spoke. What would the King do? The invasion was soon coming to a close.

@Mr. Anderson

The final confrontation between the Sunspears and Cletus stood within the confines of the throne room which the King stood defiant in the face of death. There is no winning against such powerful pirates, but his words stood firm in the eyes and heart of the citizen, inspiration. They would not accept tyranny. That much by this time the Vampirates should have more than realized the impossibility of bending the Sunspears to their will without a tyrannical rule to subjugate them completely. The King stood firm to the words of Cletus, but he himself knew – and perhaps Cletus too, would know. The King is more compassionate than most other leaders, perhaps more than any other form of Emperors, the citizens taking refuge upon the castles en masse and the fact that the King not only refuse to surrender but also did not flee, he cared about his people. Saving lives is his priority, especially of the people of Sunspears. Hesitation. The King did not respond. Perhaps it is better to simply give up yet he foresees the livelihood of his people forced into slavery. But faced with no choice, the King only slightly moved his mouth.

“…..”

But before any words are said, a young boy would suddenly slightly run up past the king, and in his hand – a rock. Thrown at Cletus. The mother quickly ran afterwards, though couldn’t stop his actions. Her face – terrified, tears flowing – fearing her child’s life.

“Leave us you monster! I HATE YOU! I HOPE YOU ALL DIE!”

The kid shouted at Cletus, regardless if the rock is thrown successfully or not remains irrelevant – someone as young as a kid lacked the capability to injury nor kill Cletus but the message the boy sent is a very strong indication of what’s to come. The King himself, quickly stood in front of the boy. Should Cletus reaction come into nothing of serious consequences. The King would eventually relent.

“I surrender.”

The King lowered his weapons, and so did the remaining soldiers. Cries of the citizens would resonate loudly within the room. Dropping his sword, the King would only console the crying child. Here, Cletus final choice would remain, likely to accept. The Vampirates would gain a foothold in Briss, but their foothold would be strong yet shaky at the same time. No matter what they would promise in return is very unlikely to win the hearts of the people, if ever. Any attempts to kill the King to subjugate the people into their control is likely to turn him into a martyr, further miring the Kingdom of Sunspear in greater problems.

The King's features remained unshaken by Cletus' words. But the Lunarian already knew what his choice would be. This man, who took in the entirety of his province into his castle, was too compassionate to put the citizens of Sunspear at risk any longer. The Vampirates would take Sunspear with no resistance now, or atleast so he thought. A young boy would suddenly run up past the king with a rock in hand, before he could respond. He had gotten away from his mother, who ran behind him unable to stop what would happen next. He threw it. The rocked soared through the air in slow motion before hitting the lunarian square in the temple.

“Leave us you monster! I HATE YOU! I HOPE YOU ALL DIE!” he shouted in anguish. Tears flowed out of the child's eyes, saddened by the hopeless situation they were in. Cletus' smile melted.

“I surrender.” The King said grimly.

King Martell lowered his weapons, having quickly stepped in front of the crying child. The King surrendered to the Vampirates, for the safety of his people. The cries of the citizens resonated loudly throughout the throne room as he dropped his sword to console the crying child. Whatever happens next, mattered very little to the Lunarian. This was something Gambit would have to deal with now. He's only here to claimed the territory as that's what his captain desires. He gave his respect to the King, nodding his head in response. Cletus turned around, making his leave to check up on his friends.

----------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours later....

KG, Janemba and Freiza has been busy in Sunspear, handling preparations to secure a proper foothold in Sunspear. While Koza and Muk stayed behind on their respective ships, slowly recovering from their wounds. It would be some time before Koza would be in fighting shape again. Until then, the trio would handle things on their own. To their disamy, the citizens of this province had no choice but to reluctantly comply. Glares and looks of malice, fear and hopelessness filled the eyes of these people. For their humble city was now in the tight grasp of Landayan Marrow, the future Pirate King.

Meanwhile, Cletus had chosen to seclude himself on the Armageddon, despite KG's attempts of getting him involved in the preparations. Cletus just couldn't put himself in the mood. The Lunarian reflected on current events. His memories and thoughts flashing throughout his mind.

"Fufufufufu Yes go forth! Don't worry about a thing, I'll protect you! The feeling of freedom is such sweet bliss! I've missed it!"
The Lunarian sighed. Depression. He had won the battle, but not the mental war. Had he not played with his food and got careless or struggled with his internal turmoil before that, maybe he would have came in time to avoid Koza getting hurt. Maybe had he not underestimated Sunspear in the beginning, things would have been different. The lunarians flames of vengeance had fizzled out. How could he take down the government if he wasn't strong enough to protect his new friends? His new family. Vidarr's words from earlier came to his mind.

Yes. Your will to avenge will always be there. This is what you chose years ago. This is now who you are until your last breath. I will interfere with you no further from here, until you call for me of course. I did my part and now you must do yours. I only appeared to remind you that I'm always present. Farewell.
“Leave us you monster! I HATE YOU! I HOPE YOU ALL DIE!”
Cletus would sit quietly for a while longer. Then he would speak.

"Vidarr. Come to my aid." More silence would follow, before Cletus would feel the spirit of vengeance presence in his mind.

What do want, Cletus D Sol?

Cletus rose to feet, preparing to converse with the spirit in his head.

"You promised me, that becoming the spirit of vengeance would grant me the power I needed to strike down my enemies. I became a monster for the sake of strength. However, I am still weak. Power rules supreme, yet the power I have is....lacking. I need more."

Vidarr would go quiet for a moment.

So you demand even more from me? I came to your aid when you summoned me years ago and granted you strength already without a price, because I owed a favor to your ancestor.

The Lunarian's eyes widened in surprise. Vidarr had revealed to him to truth of his lineage years ago, when they had first made their deal. The god however, had yet to reveal the details on his relationship with his leinage. But Cletus would leave his questions for another time.

"Are you saying you can't help me?"

Vidarr would chuckle in response.

In order to gain more strength, you need to sacrifice a piece of who you are. Are you willing to sacrifice a part of who you are for your goal? For your friends?

Cletus' thoughts fell back of Koza's injured body and the injuries his men sustained trying to take the wall of Sunspear down. His parents. He knew his answer.

"I am! Anything to protect them."

So be it.

Cletus instantly lost consciousness.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The God of Vengeance dragged his soul from his mortal body into the depths of the underworld. Specifically his domain of Vidarr. His throne room. The Lunarian's astral form landed on the black charred floors of the god of vengeance castle. Or atleast what was left of it. He opened his eyes meeting Vidarr face to face for the second time in his life.

The God's giant figure loomed over the lunarian. An ant to a deity. He rose from his seat, standing at his full height. Beyond that of a regular gianr. His body was suddenly engulfed in ash forcing his figure down to a smaller size, taking on a more human form, comparable to Cletus in height.

Vidarr God of Vengeance

"Welcome to my domain, Cletus. Do not worry. Your body is fine. I brought your soul down to me.

Cletus looked around. Vidarr's domain was filled with molten rock and fire. The screams of those slain in Vengeance plagued the area, like a terrible song of despair. Remnants of a castle remained all around the duo. It had almost been like it had been destroyed in battle long ago. Im the center of it all, the God's giant throne remained strong and sturdy.

"Why have you brought me here?" The Lunarian questioned in confusion.

"The last time you helped me, you did not bring me to this place."

The God grasped his blade tightly."The last time, granting you power did not require me training you."

Cletus stood in disbelief. Vidarr was going to train him personally?

"All I did the last time was increase your fire power. Granting you the flames of vengeance. However, you can no longer rely on that part of you from today." The God would then throw a weapon at Cletus' feet. A cutlass.

Cletus' eyes widened in shock. Vidarr held true to his word. The lunarian could no longer feel his flame. His ability to ignite was taken. Lost to Vidarr. All for the sake of power.

"Pick it up. The only way to gain the power you seek, is to defeat me in battle! Careful not die. Once your soul does, there would be no returning to your friends."

"But that's impossible! You're a god!"

"If you can't defeat a god, how do you expect to gain the strength to protect your friends? Are you admitting you don't have what it takes, Cletus D. Sol?" Vidarr questioned in a mocking tone.

Cletus fists clenched tightly at the god's words. The Lunarian could not keep his smile contained. Well played. He could not submit now. So what if he couldn't Ignite anymore? A minor inconvenience at best. The Lunarian picked up the cutlass with confidence, pointing it directly infront of his he laughed in the face of danger. Having never wielded a blade before, defeating Vidarr would be next to an impossible feat. But who would he be if he let the impossible stop him? All he would do is just learn while he fought. If he were to die, atleast he would die fighting.

"As if I don't! Bring it on then. I can take you down."

Vidarr smiled in return. Now wielding a massive greatsword in his right hand, he pointed it infront of himself, mirroring Cletus movements.

"We shall see."

The both of them would dash towards each other at full speed. Cletus waited for Vidarr to attack first, using his Humandrill Mimickry to copy his moments. On the other hand, Vidarr prepared a full powered swing......

The conquest of Sunspear was over. The next chapter in Cletus' story was about to begin.

Manaka braced with her arms as she crashed through the window, glass shattering around her and clattering against the floor she now crouched on. Standing up and looking around, she realized she had landed in a small room, empty of people but full with furniture. An office perhaps? She put it out of her mind and strode toward the door, happy to find that it was unlocked. Stepping into the hallway with scalpel in hand, she made sure to close the door behind her, "sealing" the hole she had made.

The hallway was nearly deserted, since most of the defenders of the fort were likely drawn to outer defenses now that they were under assault. A couple stray guards however came rushing to investigate the noise she had created on her entry, neither wearing any armor to speak of. They stopped in their tracks as they saw the pirate, moving to draw their swords against the intruder. Their blades never came free however, as both of them fell to the ground with blood flowing from their necks. Manaka wiped her scalpel off as she strode past the dying men to where they had come from, deeper in the fort itself.

___________________________________________________

Larsi was partially impressed and partially annoyed at the captured knight speaking through the torture he was imposing on him. It was however not even the biggest interruption to his attempted conversation with the remaining knight. An explosion sounded from within the castle itself, followed by a new knight stumbling out into the courtyard, speaking his final words before collapsing in a heap on the ground. Seeming to have forgotten about the two foes facing him once he heard of his poor prince, Barristan turned to rush towards the castle doors. Seeing the blatant disregard for his foes, Larsi glanced down at Zahel, one eyebrow raised, speaking calmly. Are you going to let him go?

Of course not.
Zahel replied, pulling his arm back before snapping it forward, sending a knotted rope flying out from his sleeve, darkness coating its fibers as it unraveled and whip through the air towards the back of Barristan's upper back between his shoulder blades as he fled towards the chaos within.

Larsi fastened the chain that wrapped Lewyn to his arm, so there would be no easy feat to struggle free from his bonds, even as the pirate let his haki lapse, trusting in the durable seastone to keep the man trapped. His right hand free once more, he pulled out his second jutte again, striding toward the castle doors regardless of what happened between Zahel and Barristan. He did not even bother responding to the foot soldiers that crowded the edges of the courtyard, walking forward with his observation haki ready to search for foes within.

Fort
Dep into the fort Manaka found herself that is mostly empty for the most part, thanks to her presence has largely emptied out as a result. Yet, it would not take long for the soldiers to backpedal into the fort to stop Manaka within the fort itself. Several soldiers, though while may be strangely unarmoured in such circumstance can also be reasonable. No matter the case, Manaka’s strength allowed her to quickly take care of the couple of soldiers came investigating the sounds. But she should not believe to be the end of her problems. Triangulating her location from where she enters from the fort is easy enough – especially that the soldiers and Oswell held the advantage of the fort’s layout that she doesn’t.

Deep into the fort, she would fairly quickly find more and more soldiers eventually finding her out, though unlikely to pose much of a threat should she intent on running through the fort rather than attempting any sort of stealth. But regardless of it, as she headed deeper into the fort, presumably towards the centre where she saws the chimney-like protrusion, she would eventually encounter machinations in a large room by the centre, large ammunition of canisters of shells placed properly around the room. And here, the chimney-like protrusion could be easily identified as large cannons. It is similar to a loading bay of sorts in the castle. Here it seems like the artillery has yet to fire, but the incredible heat that permeates from the room means the possibility of overheating that has been cooling down for a long time. Peering further within are people – though mostly unarmoured and barely clothed, to help combat the heat that is protruding. Around the room are a large amount of exhaust vents likely to help vent such heat out quicker outside the fort.

Manaka does not have much time before Oswell likely would reach to the same location however. Yet she has to be careful, for one wrong move and Oswell would be the least of her problems.

Castle
Forced to retreat back to the castle upon hearing seemly grim news, Barristan and the large group of knights retreated almost together. But such reckless abandoned forced the pirates to take advantage of that split second of decision made by Barristan in an attempt to take him out whilst his back is turn against them. Yet, Zahel’s actions are not anywhere stealthy enough that his actions weren’t quickly noticed when he snapped forward with his Haki-infused rope as the rest of the soldiers whom stayed at the courtyard quickly shouted towards Barristan that would prompt him to turn around.

“Ser! Behind you!”

Yet, given the distance was only fairly short and Barristan’s reaction to process the shouting and turn to further process Zahel’s attack and react according would mean that he would not be able to dodge in time. In fact, there is little time to do so. Barristan would barely turn in time to see the incoming rope, and without a shield to help block the attack means Barristan could only use his sword to do so. Coating his arm and sword with Haki, the knight aimed to block the attack. But without sufficient time to use a stronger technique in response, his defense came out short as Zahel’s attack brock the sword, and struck his arm. The impact of the strike tore through the armour before breaking the arm that is wielding his weapon originally. Blood spurts out from Barristan’s mouth as the strike sent blown back that only the more capable knight is able to ground himself quickly in response, Zahel’s attack landed cleanly – and without a weapon a fight is impossible. Yet Barristan did not falter, he would retreat back into the castle before either of them could finish the job.

As Larsi would eventually enter the castle without any further resistance, with fear gaining a foothold upon the minds of the soldiers. Whether Zahel would ultimately follow in or not – they would eventually the castle riddled with corpse and bloodshed. Trails of blood following along a single path towards the now-closed throne room. His Observational Haki would very quickly noted the group that gathers within that one room. No matter the case, should Larsi continues his path towards the throne room, sounds and metal clashing could be heard – shouting with names that Larsi himself may not know. But Lewyn himself struggled continuously, agitated not just due to being held hostage but seemly for other reasons that likely related to whatever happened in the castle.

Should Larsi finally open the doors to the throne room, he would be greeted with a strange situation unlike what he may expect. In front of him stood 3 new golden knights, though one of them seems to be fighting Barristan though obviously wounded with only one arm with a sword. The other two stood beside a man in black armor. Bodies continue to pile on around them, but in front of man in black armor, Prince Rhaegar is the throne whom seated upon is King Aerys. Yet, Larsi would notice the tumbling down of a head of an old man – worn with the blood-stained golden crown before ultimately separated as the head reaches the base of the steps leading up to throne itself.

“Why did you do this Prince Rhaegar?! This is treason! And you killed the King, Jaime! Traitors!”

“And why would you continue to protect the King?! He has gone mad! He is slowly leading the Kingdom into ruins!”

Barristan shouted, only to be met with words from the other knight, known as Jonothor Darry. Beside Rhaegar stood Arthur Dayne whom seemed to be protecting the Prince as he took on the soldiers that came along with Barristan from before whilst the other, Jaime, the other knight – his blade stained with blood. The Kingslayer.

“The Mad King is dead! No longer will the people of King’s Landing be subjected to the tyranny of King Aerys! Stand down, Barristan and your men!”

Rhaegar spoke, commanding the rest to surrender or stand down. Altogether, Larsi’s presence wasn’t fully noticed yet. But here – a situation came to him. Before him is a coup d’etat. A change in leadership. An opportunity.

King's Landing Assault #15 @Sea

Manaka continued her quickly down the hallways, moving inwards through the fort. She knew she had little time, as all the focus of the soldiers within the fort would have turned on her now. The two she had left behind were nothing compared what would soon be bearing down on her, but she wasn't overly worried. Along the way she encountered the odd patrol, but she would move past them quickly, leaving most of them dead or dying behind her. The deeper she went, the hotter the air became, before she stepped through a doorway into what seemed to her like a cavern in a mountain. The heat here was nearly unbearable, and spread across the rooms were workers rushing to and fro, unarmored and sweaty. Seeing the large artillery cannons in the center of the room, she clutched her scalpel and started walking out into the open, her eyes scanning the room for reactions.

___________________________________________________

A strike repelled and a blade broken, Barristan fled the battle, escaping through the door to the castle itself. Barely looking back, he disappeared inside, leaving Larsi and Zahel alone among his soldiers, who largely seemed content to leave the two pirates be. Sharing a look with Zahel as the man weaved the rope around his sleeve once more, Larsi followed inside to see what had transpired. Zahel stepped up next to him, holding his swords at the ready like the giant held the two juttes, looking like he was wielding two metal pillars.

His observation haki active and listening, Larsi was able to hear far better than usual. In the distance he was able to her the conversation playing out.

“Why did you do this Prince Rhaegar?! This is treason! And you killed the King, Jaime! Traitors!”

“And why would you continue to protect the King?! He has gone mad! He is slowly leading the Kingdom into ruins!”
A smile spread across Larsi's face as he stepped into the throne room proper. The scene came into view, a monarchy in chaos, knights with swords drawn on one another. A dead king and a prince with a heavy conscience. A sworn protector with blood running down his blade. A claim of victory in face of what many would decry as treason followed.
“The Mad King is dead! No longer will the people of King’s Landing be subjected to the tyranny of King Aerys! Stand down, Barristan and your men!”
Stepping fully into the throne room, opposite to the prince and his dead father, Larsi stopped in place. Slamming both juttes tip first into the stone floor before him, he created a deep impact as they settled in. Resting his hands atop the weapons, he stood facing the crowd across the room, but his focus was on the prince, and his words he spoke were directed to him as well.

Your Grace, I am impressed! Larsi said without a hint of sarcasm. I did not think to see such actions here today! You have defied honor and done what is best and right, and I can only commend you for such actions.

However.
Larsi's gaze fell on Barristan, the man still clearly distraught at the situation before him. I do not think your actions will be accepted by all, regardless of your father's actions. His eyes returned to Rhaegar, looking into the face of the would be king. You would be in need of allies, protectors. The continued assault on your city does you no good.

Larsi shook his left arm, allowing the chains wrapped around it to uncoil, sending the knight restrained falling to the floor. I offer you an alliance, and protection. At a cost. But that cost is less than your throne itself.

Fort
The room is foggy thanks to the overwhelming heat that is protruding from the artillery, making it slightly difficult to see what’s ahead in clear detail but not enough to completely obscure anything from Manaka’s vision. The heat intense. Yet seeing the large artillery cannons facing up towards the ceiling allows her to quickly come into conclusion of where she needs to be. The artillery has been in cool down for a lengthy period of time which meant a possibility of the artillery would soon to be used once more.

Here, Manaka would walk into the room – her scalpel ready. But it would take a short moment of time where she would walk that the workers or engineers in the room would eventually take note of an unidentified person coming in, especially without speaking at all.

“W-W-Who are you?!”

Whilst they are aware of intruders, they do not have the opportunity to identify Manaka at all, thus likely not being soldiers of the sort means they are much slower in connecting the dots immediately. The fog also makes it difficult to tell that Manaka is holding a weapon – albeit small enough to not be immediately logical.

Castle
The coup d’tat from Prince Rhaegar became a success, with the King forced to abdicate his throne without the chance to open his mouth, quite literally. Now it falls to his son to continue on. Barristan and his men after upon called to lay down their arms however, did not do so – instead they back up from fighting but maintained a defensive-like posture. His men however seem far more confused than ever. Do they lay down their arms? Or do they attempt to apprehend the traitors? A couple of them do so – but Barristan did not gave them a chance to lay down their arms.

“You traitors! Have you forgotten our oath to the King?!”

Barristan shouted as he cut down the couple of surrendering soldiers, fostering fear amongst the group. But before any further words could be exchanged, Larsi came – congratulating on Rhaegar’s success and especially his decision for change despite the bloodshed. Yet to Rhaegar, such words is nothing but meaningless praise. The giant as far as he is aware, isn’t from King’s Landing and thus do not understand the plight of the city. He would not know what is right or wrong, nor what’s best. Yet the coup is but short-lived for Larsi intended to gain control of the city at the cost of the throne, intending to make use of the coup to quickly assert control of the city. As he spoke, the other knight was finally released from Larsi, though having been tightly wrapped finds it difficult to make quick use of his body at full capacity, only managing to back away.

“The audacity of the pirate! I will kill you whe-”

Arthur spoke in anger, yet his words were not completed for Rhaegar would quickly interrupt him with a single hand gesture, prompting surprise from Arthur – yet he would quickly heed the orders of the prince.

“Your praises are meaningless. I know what is your intention. You are not offering any form of protection. In fact, your protection would only warrant in more invasion from others for territory. We may not be well knowledgeable on the outside world but we too have connections with the World Government. You are merely strong-arming us into surrender.”

The words of Rhaegar made a powerful point to Larsi. It is not protection. They both know and understand this very well. The pirates intend to take over King’s Landing under the guise of safety and protection. Whether or not it is the Silver Vampirates themselves or other similarly powerful factions, the end result is the same. The Silver Vampirates Modus Operandi is simple – strong-arm through the show of brutal might. The King’s Landing isn’t the only city that they have done so. Sunspears themselves are similar that would eventually fall into their hands.

“The people of King’s Landing only answers to my bloodline. They would not accept anyone else on the throne, especially a pirate. Getting rid of me will only fracture the hearts of the people and pit them against your people.”

Words of rejection. Perhaps seemly ends the negotiation.

“However your actions have created enough of a chaos that allowed us to achieve our goals. We have mutual interests in keeping the city safe and well, by your own words. A ceasefire. If you order your men to stop then we may discuss… this alliance further.”

“Prince Rhaegar, you can’t be serious! First you assassinated the King now you are negotiating with the pirates who has attacked us?!”

Barristan protested. His hostility stinging the throne room. But regardless of his protest, should Larsi do so – he would find Prince Rhaegar signalling Jaime, perhaps doing the same – a ceasefire.

Larsi didn't react when the knights protested his proposal, instead keeping his eyes on the prince across from him. As the would be king spoke, the pirates remained calm, not raising an objection at least not yet. Instead he remained still, resting his hands on his weapons, the loose chain dangling from his wrist still. The man was no fool, though Larsi had not expected this. It was no momentary spur of emotion that had drove him to bring his father's tyranny to an end. No, the man before him could become a much better king than his predecessor.
“However your actions have created enough of a chaos that allowed us to achieve our goals. We have mutual interests in keeping the city safe and well, by your own words. A ceasefire. If you order your men to stop then we may discuss… this alliance further.”
Larsi smiled, hearing the words spoken by the prince, ignoring the protests of the knight. There was an offer implicit here, hinting to match that of the pirate. Very well. Larsi declared, shifting to hold both weapons with his left hand while his right retrieved a den den mushi from within his coat. With a few moves of his hand, the snail phone started a transmission.

___________________________________________________

Kaladin stood on the deck of the Silver Bullet, overseeing the operation before and around him. Although he had been healed and their ships had received repairs, they remained at an impasse with the city of King's Landing, having not made any advances in a long while. Ring ring. Ring ring. He pulled out his snail phone and took it off the hook noticing that it was from Larsi himself. Orders, sir?

We have entered a ceasefire. You will pull the ships back and relay this information to the Lady. I will not permit more wanton destruction today.

But sir, what about you?
Kaladin prostested. Mirth filled the response from Larsi. I will be fine. Do as I say.

Yes sir.
Kaladin replied, ending the call and immediately beginning a new phone call while the men around him relayed the orders of retreat to the other ship. The Silver Bullet started to turn away from King's Landing, moving as if it had heard the orders itself.

___________________________________________________

Manaka was half across the room when her den den mushi started ringing. She considered hanging up on the call, but she decided picking up would seem less apparent, and she had not been noticed yet. Putting the received up to her ear, she growled. What is it?

We have reached a ceasefire, you are to refrain from any more hostile actions. We are ordered to retreat.

Manaka could scarcely believe what she was hearing, pausing in the middle of the room. She was right here before the artillery that had struck her ships, she could take them out right now. It was unlikely she would manage to get here as easily again, and now she was to leave without disabling the weapons that threatened her fleet? She stood there for a moment, considering her options. Argh! She exclaimed, turning around. I will retreat.

Still holding her knife, Manaka started walking back where she had come from.

___________________________________________________

Larsi put his received down and put his den den mushi away inside his coat once more. If he had anyone watching the sea, Rhaegar would likely soon be notified of the fleet moving away from King's Landing. Once more, Larsi set his hand back down on his jutte, never having moved all this time. By his side stood Zahel, shifting uncomfortably, but putting away his swords.

You have it partially correct, Your Grace.
Larsi continued, speaking to Rhaegar directly once more. You may call this strong arming you for surrender, but I have a feeling you may find it preferable to the alternative. How do you think you can make sure the knowledge of what transpired here between you and your father does not leak to the outside? Do you think the other lords of your realm will follow someone who has killed their father? He paused for a moment, letting the words hang in the air. I offer you assistance in quelling any would be rebels.

The call to a ceasefire before negotiations would continue. Despite lacking stronger power to call for a more equal negotiation, it was a deal that Larsi is willing to enter. He would prefer peace talks at this stage of the game. Perhaps not all pirates are bloodthirsty to that extent. Yet no matter the case, as Larsi calls for the ceasefire from his side, so did Rhaegar as he quickly gestured Jaime to do so. Soon, the ships beyond the seas would start to back off, as cannon fire starts to cease as well, letting the final few projectiles that are already fired to fly off mark. The pirates aboard their ships would quickly see the rapidly decreasing cannon fires almost instantly. And so was end of the deadly artillery strikes.

Towards the side of the fort. Soon, both sides would eventually come to a ceasefire – though confusion would likely arise from both ranks, but otherwise quickly come to the same conclusion. Similarly, for Manaka before she could eliminate the artillery cannons would find a message to retreat. Whilst understandably frustrated at not being able to take out the cannons that was originally threatening her fleet – she would eventually decide to follow through orders, backing off from the room leaving the confused men as message to them would eventually come through. As Manaka leaves the room, she would soon find Oswell upon her, though this time no longer attacking her, instead intending to escort her out of the premise. Both sides would likely find frustration having unable to defeat the opposing side completely. An uneasy cease of hostilities. Outside her fort she may likely find her men alongside the men of King’s Landing – no longer attacking. Though for the soldiers would quickly act to save the injured ones of their own. Manaka’s men may likely gather. But from here on out, they may likely find themselves escorted to where Larsi was, or simply stayed where they were now that their ships have temporarily retreated. Around her, she would soon notice the chaos that they have wrought has completely died down. Something a little amiss.

Finally, back at the castle – where Larsi would finally continue the negotiations. Aware of the pirate’s intention led to his exposure rather easily. Though Larsi quickly tries to hit the crux – the consequence of the coup. How would the Prince’s legitimacy over the throne be accepted by everyone? A right call to make. In Briss, the various lords over the Iron Throne has always been battled politically, a coup would not stand to reason as it merely creates an opportunity for other lords to try and take over, whether politically or militarily. Not only that but the people of King’s Landing themselves may not truly accept Rhaegar due to the ‘unlawful’ abdication by Rhaegar, as per his words.

“You may be correct. But I did not do this alone with the three of us.”

Rhaegar corrected Larsi. As he did so, more soldiers finally start to appear – though with a gesture the soldiers started to surround Barristan and his men.

“Half of the reason why this could’ve happened is because of your chaos. The other half however, is that I have garnered a large support with the army, and the anger of the citizens with my father’s oppression will shift their attitudes towards me more favourably.”

The prince spoke with confident. Likely a plan in the making for a long time. With no timeline to when the Mad King started his irrationality upon King’s Landing, it would be hard to say when did Rhaegar started to plan a coup. But he is confident to succeed with the people, likely his popularity is much positive with his people.

“The news of my father’s death would eventually be known. The people may not show it but they are more than happy for me to take over. However, you are correct that the other lords would not sit idly and let me usurp the throne even if the truth of the coup were to be hidden from public eyes.”

“Anything going forward here will only be dealing with the other lords of the realm. Briss have been fractured for a rather long time now, a united Briss would lead to a prosperous realm... Then allow me to ask you. What do you want from Briss?”

“I have enough of this! I have sworn an oath to the King! Men! We are arresting the Prince and the King’s Guard for treason!”

The Prince asked after a short moment of contemplation, but just mere seconds upon his questions, Barristan suddenly burst forth – his weapon in hand despite his injury charges towards Prince Rhaegar. While some of his men would followed his orders – loyalty to a fault perhaps and would meet their ends to their own comrades, some did not, choosing to lay down arms for surrender. But for Barristan, the man charges blindly towards Rhaegar. He would likely be stopped by Jaime or Arthur.

But what would be Larsi’s answer?

Manaka allowed herself to be led out by the man she had only minutes before fought and escaped from. It was a surreal experience, not something she had ever experienced before. It felt like some sort of sick joke, and she half expected to be attacked any second as she walked through the hallways. Yet another feeling that started to settle in was guilt, her actions had almost been for nothing. After several minutes of silence with judging eyes watching her and nearing the outside of the keep, Manaka finally stopped in place and broke her silence. Are any of the injured still alive? I am more versed in medicine than I am in fighting? I should be able to save a few of them still.

__________________________________________________

Larsi listened as Rhaegar spoke, neither moving nor speaking. The prince argued his case well, he may have planned such actions for long, but Larsi was no fool. He would make sure to investigate a country well before making a maneuver like this, and politics was something he had a deep interest in(5 points in politics profession actually lol). And as such he knew how fresh the Targaryen rule was in the memory of the kingdoms it had subdued. He knew that several of the high lords of the land likely looked back on the not so distant past when they ruled in their own names.

Larsi's thoughts were interrupted as Barristan raised his voice and held up his sword in anger directed toward the prince. As the knight was focused on the man he hated the most just then, Larsi spoke quietly to the man next to him, only loud enough that he would hear but others would not due to Barristan's outburst.
Zahel?

On it.
Zahel muttered, rushing forward without drawing his swords again. Instead the cloth around both his arms unfolded. The cloth dangling from his right arm he spun into a single, thick rope and whipped forward. Given his rabid anger and focus on the prince as well as state of injuries, the likelihood of Barristan reacting in time was low. If he did not, the rope would wrap around his neck and Zahel would pull him backwards and slam him into the ground. Just after, with his left hand, he would throw out the other cloth strips. Shaped like a net it would aim to engulf the remaining hostile soldiers and trap them in their position.

Should Barristan be thrown backward he would find himself on his back not far in front of Larsi himself. If this was the case Larsi would lift one of his juttes off the ground and place the tip onto the knights torso, pinning him down. After all for the man the weapon would be nearly as wide as his torso, and with the strength and weight of the giant pressing down on him, it would feel as if a very large pillar was hitting him repeatedly. Regardless of whether Zahel's move was successful or it served as a distraction for the other knights to take out Barristan, Larsi would speak calmly to him.
Did you not hear what I said? About quelling any rebellion?

Looking to Rhaegar again, Larsi smiled. I think you underestimate what people will do in the name of honor, Your Grace. What they will claim is honorable, but instead serve their own means. Trust me, I know. Larsi's smile grew harder, thinking of the years on Elbaf, bullies demanding he play fair against foes much larger than himself. You may have support within the capital itself, perhaps even from certain lords of the realm, but I think blades would be sharpened where you do not look. Better to confront them head on as your forefather did.

And what do we want? Our fleet is grand and growing ever larger. Fielding an army to rival an Emperor of the sea is costly. Our alliance comes with the requirement of a tribute, and more for every lord we help subdue.

Having been escorted back out to the courtyard by the men of King’s Landing – her experience made her feel disgusted at the sudden change. A ceasefire. She was killing the soldiers a while ago and now it felt like the complete opposite where the soldiers treated her at best, a guest. Guilt would settle in, and soon, Manaka decided to perhaps made a decision that would surprise the soldiers, that she would try to treat and save as many as she could. Some eyes stared at her, obvious – for even if a ceasefire is made there is distrust from both sides. Manaka perhaps maintained some twisted form of Hippocratic Oath herself. Though unlikely to say the least. Her questions would remain unanswered. Obvious. Who would trust her?

“I need some help please!”

Then, a call for help came. A medic whom needed help with a soldier whom seem to be bleeding profusely from his wound, with bandages barely stopping the blood flow. Soon, medics would start to flow in, and if Manaka’s men were still around – injured. The medics themselves may find it impossible to ignore treatment. Soon, things at the fort would be busy.

I originally intended to leave Manaka's part as done on the previous post but I decided to make one more as it seems your NPC could have a bit of development here. I won't be writing her part further but if you wish you can continue on.

--------------------------

Barristan’s outrage became the focal attention of the throne room as he charges towards the Prince and his traitorous comrades for treason, yet Rhaegar didn’t seem fazed by it. Only shifted his eyes to look at the heavily injured King’s Guards. Arthur and Jaime would quickly move to protect Rhaegar, but perhaps what would be surprising for some is the interference of Zahel, whom whipped his rope forward to wrap around Barristan, his anger tunnelled vision that would essentially prevent him from noticing the rope that would struck him from behind, wrapping Barristan before hard pulling the man by the neck, a dangerous motion that would choke Barristan as slammed hard onto the ground, knocking him unconscious immediately. Quickly forming nets, the man would quickly capture the rest of the guards that followed Barristan.

This led to the guards quickly taking further steps into arresting everybody, including Lewyn and the unconscious Barristan, though for the former may not face consequences like Barristan did. An opportunity came upon Larsi to made use of the situation to further cement his words, proving his point further as he spoke. Larsi’s words weren’t wrong by any capacity, there would be likely be internal conflicts, turmoil within King’s Landings. Despite what Rhaegar is confident in. No coup could be that easily smoothed over. The lords from various regions would be the biggest issue to Rhaegar, but Larsi wanted a base over King’s Landing – a powerful staging point to take Briss, not just militarily speaking but most importantly politically. The Iron Throne is the crown of Briss, the monarchy that allows one to rule the Seven Kingdoms, it would be paramount to have stability within King’s Landing in which Larsi would prompt to ensure. Lastly, the demands of the pirates would finally be laid bare, tribute. Though not necessarily explicit in the demands, Rhaegar could easily think of several.

But Rhaegar very slightly, smiled. Like cracks to a mask. Not very obvious – but yet in light of everything the Prince did not seem to taken aback by anything. Before Larsi stood not just any prince, but a cunning one at that. Similar to the pirate, he too has been weaving through politics in Briss for a long time (not me). Before long, Rhaegar would sit upon the iron throne, though not in any elegant manner befitting of a King nor royalty. But one of contemplation.

“Tribute you say… I can garner a few thoughts of what you meant. But nevertheless…”

The Prince gave further thoughts to it.

“So be it. I desire a united realm under my rule, and you desire an alliance to help grow your military. We both stand to gain much under a united Seven Kingdoms. Not only that but you have demonstrated your willingness in maintaining stability within my rule.”

Rhaegar responded to Larsi, an alliance that the Prince would be willing to accept. Having seen Larsi willingly taking down Barristan, a ‘rebel’ to his rule. The Prince would at the very least accept the pirate’s efforts as genuine enough to create an alliance.

“What say you….. Pirate?”

Rhaegar would stand up and walked towards Larsi, fearless – yet maintain a smile as he did. A gesture of handshake offered as he asked Larsi.

Next post should be my last for this.

The soldiers of Briss were understandably hesitant to accept the help of a woman who just had assaulted their keep, killed several of them and wounded more, yet to Manaka the battle was over. She had no foes to defeat to protect her men and women from, she only had wounded that needed attention, and now they might become her allies. And so she moved quickly as she heard a cry for help, kneeling down next to the bleeding soldier on the ground. Bringing out her pack of medical equipment, she set to work on her patient. Koujiro and her men were nowhere to be seen, and she was grateful for that, She still did not fully trust the situation, and would wait to call them when she heard back from Larsi about the ceasefire. For now, she closed up the soldier's wound and moved on to another injured.

__________________________________________________

As the soldiers loyal to Rhaegar approached to apprehend Barristan, Larsi would pull away both of his juttes, hanging them back into their slot in his harness on his back. The hostilities seemed to be at an end, and as such he would likely not need his weapons for a while. His weapons replaced, Larsi coiled his chain around his wrist once more while listening to the prince speak. The young man took his time, even testing the feel of the throne he would soon inherit, before approaching the two pirates on his own feet. Larsi was surprised his guards didn't attempt to intervene.

As Rhaegar approached he extended his arm with an open hand, an attempt at a handshake with the pirate. The problem was for Larsi that he didn't want to defer to the prince who was much shorter, so he could not kneel or bow to reach down to the man's hand. Instead Larsi squatted, holding out his hand to accept the gesture of the smaller man.
I say I think we have reached an understanding, Your Grace.

A handshake from the Prince to the giant, whom squatted in order to reach the height necessarily to accept the gesture. With a new alliance on the horizons, Briss now looks to unification by Prince Rhaegar and the Silver Vampirates.

“We may discuss the details of our new alliance tomorrow, for today we must move to stabilize what happens today, and for the future. Not just the death of my father but also our new alliance, such news will have to be disseminated properly.”

Not just controlling the news, regarding how the King died but also how to ensure that the Silver Vampirates would be able to take on a foothold onto King’s Landing. Misinformation would be the key factor in this. But as to how, would later come into fruition. The Prince intended to find a way into Reverie upon unifying the Seven Kingdom under his rule, through the help of the World Government, but with a new alliance with the Silver Vampirates, things may soon be quicker than before.

“Ser Jaime, would you take that out for me?”

“Your highness?”

“Now that my father is dead, there won’t be much use to it for us.”

“Yes. Your Highness.”

Jaime would soon take his leave, to procure a certain object per Rhaegar’s instruction. It would take minutes. Before the knight’s return, with a decently sized box on hand where Jaime would place the box just a metre in front of Larsi.

“One of our people found this a few days ago – and presented it to my father. He intended to take it for himself. But now that he is gone, this may better be of much use to you than to us.”

“You may consider this a tribute – a gift to celebrate our alliance.”

Rhaegar spoke of the contents of the box, though a little cryptic and vague in his words – should Larsi opened the contents of the box up he would more than likely understand the meaning behind the Prince’s words.

And with that, the King’s Landing would fall under the Silver Vampirates’ control as allies – for the time being. However, perhaps not all has ended in King’s Landing. For the battle for the whole of Briss would soon be underway, whether militarily or politically now falls to Rhaegar and Larsi, but with the cunningness and somewhat mysteriousness of the Prince, who knew what would be the result of the alliance between Rhaegar and the Silver Vampirates, and the future of Briss.

Larsi remained in the same position while Jaime left, resting his arms on his knees, hands dangling in front of himself. It would not take long before the knight returned, carrying a chest in his arms. Curiosity grew within the giant, wondering what the object they had found was. Accepting the container from with his right hand, Larsi carefully opened the lid to the trunk.

The entire room seemed to dim all at once, as if the light was sucked from the air and cast out. Cocking his head, Larsi removed the small object within, a devil fruit. In the shape of a pear, it seemed to be coated in darkness, the light barely able to get through as if a barrier was in the way. Studying it closer, he was able to see a pattern of swirling streaks spinning from the base of the fruit up to the stem.
I am grateful for the gift, alas I am only interested in a very specific devil fruit, Larsi said, glancing over to Rhaegar. However, I am sure I will be able to put it to good use. Zahel?

Yes, sir?
Zahel perked up, seemingly having been transfixed by the fruit. His eyes widened as Larsi swung his arm down to hold the devil fruit out to the former king. Are you sure?

Larsi nodded, and Zahel seemed to consider for a moment, before grabbing the dark object from the giant's palm. In one quick swoop he brought it to his mouth and bit in, as if to stop himself from second guessing. As he did, the darkness that seemed to have pervaded the throne rooms started to pull inwards toward him, until they took the shape of his own shadow, only deeper somehow.

Interesting. Larsi said, turning back to Rhaegar. We have a kingdom to unite.

Start of Briss Part 2

Larsi was sat against the wall outside the throne room, reading a newspaper, when Zahel approached followed by Vin and Kelsier. The two humans looked short next to the former king, Vin even shorter than Kelsier. The former was a young woman, possibly later teens, dark hair falling to just above her shoulders. Her body seemed even smaller for the fact that she seemed to make herself seem smaller as she stalked behind the two men. Kelsier was above average height, his blonde hair flowing backwards wildly. Where Vin was sceptical, this man presented an air of confidence, a wide smile on his face as he swaggered next to Zahel. Both of the two newcomers however wore matching outfits, dark loose fitting clothes with a strange cloak of tassels falling from their shoulders around their bodies. Kelsier had two regular swords tied to his hips, while Vin carried a sword taller than herself strapped to her back.

I have taught them how to use the harnesses, and both seem like naturals. Zahel said when the three of them came within speaking distance to Larsi. The two newcomers had made themselves known to the pirates the same day the alliance with Briss was announced. Both had been part of the poorer part of town, and was looking for opportunities, and from what Larsi could tell, they were far from weaklings. He had offered them to have Zahel make two magnetic harnesses for them to try, and they had accepted graciously. Now, days later, they had finally had their equipment tested.

Good, Larsi said, turning his attention to the two newcomers. This is not some ragtag crew, you are expected to follow orders. You are to listen to what your superiors tell you. Zahel here is my second.

Of course!
Kelsier exclaimed, his smile as wide as ever, spreading his arms as if welcoming Larsi for the first time. Vin just nodded.

Alright, go report to Kaladin, you all have similar fighting styles now, so you can work in tandem. Larsi continued, and Kelsier bowed exaggeratedly, before turning on his heel and walking off to find Stormblessed, Vin in tow. Larsi watched to make sure they had left the courtyard before speaking again, to Zahel. What do you make of them?

I did some investigation, apparently they have been running a gang of sorts in the poor part of town, keeping criminals in check when the guards would not.
Zahel said, pausing and drawing a deep breath. That man, Kelsier is putting on a not too great show, he hates the royalty for their abandonment of the people.

I suppose you won't be sharing your own tale with them any time soon then.
Larsi said, half mocking the former king. Zahel shot Larsi a gaze, somewhere between worried and anger. Don't worry, I won't tell him.

Thanks...
Zahel said, just as a knight in gleaming armor and a white cape pushed open the doors to the throne room. Arthur Dayne's eyes fell on the two pirates, his face not betraying his view of the two of them lounging outside his king's keep. His Grace requires your presence, Silver Hair.

Larsi pushed himself off the ground and walked up the few steps to the doorway, Zahel in tow. He almost expected the knight to argue that he had only requested Larsi himself, but the man kept his tongue. Entering inside the hall that only days before had been host to one of the most defining moments of the kingdom, he noted that Rhaegar had not wasted any time cleaning up. Even the cracks in the floor were nowhere to be seen. A large table was placed in the middle of the room, a map to fit its size spread out on its surface. Beyond it paced Rhaegar, crown placed on his head. Yes, he surely had not wasted any time. Seeing Larsi he broke is walk, instead facing the map table between them, holding up a piece of paper, his voice a mix of anger and disbelief. Have you read this?

Briss Assaulted! The King Murdered! Rebellion Stirs!

While Sunspear was already dealing with the assault from the Silver Vampirates, another fleet led by its former captain laid siege to King's Landing. Commanding near a thousand soldiers and six ships, our sources say Larsi used the vessels, commanded by Kaladin Stormblessed, a former marine and prisoner of Impel Down, as mere diversions while he led his own strike force at the heart of the city. Another strike force led by Lady Manaka Ninquolette, wrecked havoc as they sought to disable the city's defenses. She is said to have fought Oswell Whent of the King's Guard, but fled the scene to perform her task.

Larsi, accompanied by a mysterious man only known as Zahel, after feigning arrest and impersonating a marine official respectively, managed to infiltrate past nearly all of the defenses without being spotted. Here they engaged in battle against three members of the King's Guard. Larsi defeated both Lewyn Martell and Gerold Hightower within minutes alone, while Zahel nearly defeated Barristan Selmy before the latter fled.

This is where our details are inconclusive. According to statements from prince Rhaegar Targaryen, his father died from the stress of his capitol under siege. Some of our sources say he was cut down by Jaime Lannister, one of his own King's Guard. Others even claim that Rhaegar struck the blow himself. In any case, commotion arose, and through some deal they made, Barristan and the rest of the three King's Guards Larsi and Zahel had fought were arrested for treason.

Not only that, but it seems that Rhaegar has entered an alliance with the pirates, and even gave a devil fruit of some unknown power, which Zahel has eaten. Our sources say the lords of the realm are not happy with the outcome and several of them are talking among themselves unhappily.

Now, here is the proclamation put out by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, sent to all the lords and ladies of Briss:
Hear ye, hear ye, citizens of Briss

King Aerys Targaryen, second of his name, has tragically passed away. During a battle with pirates, his weakness finally caught him, and he died on his throne.

After negotiating with the pirates and agreeing to an alliance with them, King's Landing is now at peace.

And now I summon thee, lords and ladies, to come to King's Landing, to swear your fealty to me and attend my coronation.

-King Rhaegar Targaryen, first of his name

Of course, Larsi said, smiling as he raised the newspaper he had been reading. I was reading it again just outside, waiting for your call.

Do you think this is some joke?
Rhaegar asked, pointing his free hand toward Larsi. They already are sowing the seeds that I killed my father, even worse, that I fell him with mine own blade! And they say there is already talk of rebellion.

Larsi waited until the king was done, then waited some more. Are you done? Good. We knew this would happen, Larsi spoke calmly, approaching the table. Now, how do you think the different lords will respond, those that carry enough influence and power to be at least a nuisance?

Rhaegar stiffened at the threatment, but composed himself enough, discarding the newspaper at the edge of the table as he leaned over the map of Briss, showing the large country from south to north. He stood himself by King's landing, about a quarter of the way from the south, on the eastern part of the continent. His hand fell to the very south first. Sunspear is already dealt with, thanks to yours, so Martell won't be an issue.

His hand moved further up and west, to the point that marked Highgarden. Mace Tyrell is a greedy man, he will likely not make any aggressive or quick moves.

Rhaegar moved further north and west, pointing to Casterly Rock. Tywin Lannister was my father's former hand before being scorned by my father's refusal to betroth me to his daughter. His son Jaime guards me still, but the father is a shrewd politician who likely will not pass up on the opportunity to get back at me.

His hand moved further up, tapping four different points. The Eyrie to the north, Riverrun to the west, Storm's End to the south and Winterfell all the way in the north. The Starks, Baratheons, Tullys and Arryns are all proud and honorable families who would not take kindly to a dishonorable action such as killing their king. The lord of Storm's End is betrothed to the daughter to the lord of Winterfell. The daughters of the lord of Riverrun are married to Starks and Arryns, so the four families will likely move as one.

At last Rhaegar's finger landed on the small markings in the northwest sea labeled Iron Islands. Balon Greyjoy is a proud man, he may join the others, he may decide to style himself as King of the Iron Islands, I have heard word that he desires the old crown of his forefathers.

Larsi took in the information, scanning the map once more. Alright, it is time we made some preparations while we wait for the replies from the lords. And with that they got to work, joined by other advisors to the king, beginning the plan for the inevitable defense of King's Landing, once the other armies of Briss came knocking.

Briss - Post 1
@Larsi

News spread far and wide, the seagulls clapped their wings in the early hours with newspapers from the recent issue of World Economic Times fell from the skies. Many didn't understand the magnitude but it did however spit a bad image of the Prince's involvement in what came to be. Many parents who would be reading, would have their children ask what's wrong, but all that was pinpointed and noted were two very words Judas and Baba Yaga.

With other kingdoms also receiving their early news coo, many would react in differing ways with every one of them sitting on their thrones.

Heading to the first kingdom with its pearl-looking castle with flowers and trees flowing the early morning gust of wind, whilst holding a chalice of wine he'd open his private doors and take a look out at his kingdom whilst begrudgingly commenting at the events with an overtone of envy.

Mace Tyrell: " Hmmm, maybe i could've used Rhaegar Targaryen as a pawn to capture King's Landing. "

We then head to the next kingdom in the North West, under the bright sun the dust would pick up and then go by revealing a huge rocky terrain in the shadows with a castle placed above. We then travel into the room rushing through rooms until a burst of laughter with heavy tones being heard then a mug being slammed down on a table.

Kevan Lannister: " Who'd think Rheagar would have united the Kingdoms together yet was the very one who'd crush his very kingdom to ally with a pirate of all people "
Tygett Lannister: " It's a good thing his father nulled the wedding proposal, he might've walked out on the wedding if this is to be true "
Kevan Lannister: " To think he allied himself with a pirate yet never pushed his father to marry your daughter Twyin "
Twyin Lannister: " If he walked out on the wedding day we would be the ones at war with Targaryen instead of going our separate ways. Right now we need to fortify our kingdom as this Pirate might be looking to come here next and especially Rheagar. "
Tygett Lannister: " I'll inform our General brothers to get the army ready for invasion "
Twyin Lannister thinking: ' You better have your neck washed for me, kid '

Blood lust would ooze from Twyin with Kevan placing his elbows on the wooden slab of a table wrapping his hand around his mug then taking a gulp of Castle Rock's finest alcohol.

In the Far North, North, West, and South would all have the same reaction greatly surprised and anguished as to what Rheagar's action has led to. All gritting their teeth, then stroking his bushy beard as he pulled a den den mushi revealing a call was about to take place between the lords of the kingdom.

Richard Stark: " I pardon thee for interrupting you all at a time like this but have you read today's paper? ... This is inconceivable of a prince to perform such an action, this makes me sick and i know this makes you all sick down to the very bottom of your guts hearing about such an atrocity. So i hereby propose an alliance of getting rid of the bad seed. "

The sight of a flash followed by a rumble of lightning traversing through the skies could be heard as the next man placed his helmet beside him, revealing none other than Robert Baratheons.

Robert Baratheons: " To have your own blood point his sword then spill the very man who brought you into this world, despicable. "

The next man who revealed himself returning back from his voyage around his kingdom, whilst he lay seated on his ship in his captain's room he'd be sat sickened at the actions after reading the news.

Hoster Tully: " We all know how good Aerys was, but Rheagar needs to be taught a lesson for this treachery "

The final member of the call would stay mute silently showing some emotions of disgust and rage but simmered his voice until he spoke after Hoster.

Jon Arryns: " What do you guys propose? The Eyrie will be ready in arms my kin, we must take King's Landing back. We cannot leave it in their hands. "

In another kingdom located in the North West, a man would barge through some doors whilst holding today's news marching his way down a long corridor that would have the light of the sun beam down then vanish into the shadows behind the walls of the castle.

Euron Greyjoy: " Brother Balon, have you read the news of what happened at the King's Landing? "

Baron Greyjoy: " Yes i have, tell me of any reports of the other kingdoms. I am sure they are all feeling the same way we do. Not only we must find Rheagar to answer for his action of regicide. But we must take that kingdom back for the honor and pride of not just Aerys but the very nation of Briss. "

The stage was set with all kingdoms in anticipation of the arrival of the Vampirates led under Larsi and one Rheagor, each wanting him to use Rheagor for their own goals set in mind. But all thought alike in recapturing the very kingdoms that were lost simultaneously. Even then, the name Larsi wasn't all gas, it was a name of a very infamous pirate in the world, each Lord would recognise yet were nervous at the same time. None would want to reveal any cards within their hand yet not make their first move yet as any of them could be set as the next destination.

King's Landing Defense #2 @Dream

It was the day after the strategy meeting in the throne room, and things were moving along well. In a large hall Larsi was sweating, pounding a hammer down on a sheet of metal before him. The air around him was thick of smoke, hot from the bellows. Sweat ran down his body, soot covered his skin. Around him people moved to and fro, carrying metal and tools, shouting at one another. They all did however give Larsi a wide berth, letting him work away in a semblance of peace. Finishing another piece of metal, he put it aside next to a stack of similar pieces. Further on, several other pieces had already been assembled into full suits of different sizes. Five in total, he was now working on the largest piece so far, fit for himself. He picked up another piece and started pounding again.

Kaladin walked along the river running westward from King's Landing from Blackwater Bay, separating the south of the land from the north. Behind them, barely concealed beneath the surface of the surging water a layer of rocks hid, ready to crush any ship that would sail down the stream. It was however deep enough that should an army try to cross, they would be very likely to be caught and swept away. Trailed by Kelsier, Vin and a large detachment of King's Landing soldiers and Vampirates. Their job done, the now headed back to King's Landing, nearly an hour walk away. Kelsier and Vin remained silent, but the others joked among themselves, though it seemed a bit forced, given the threat that loomed over them.

__________________________________________________

Lady Manaka Ninquolette leaned grasped the rudder of the Golden Dragon, steering it next to the Silver Bullet. Her ship had been fully repaired since the battle a few days ago, and now she sailed it south of King's Landing, while the other three vessels remained further out in the Blackwater Bay, in case they were attacked from sea. Half of their medics were on the two ships, the others safe inside King's Landing.

__________________________________________________

The dungeons of the Red Keep were dark, nearly no light breaking through the pitch black. Barristan Selmy, Gerold Hightower and Lewyn Martell all sat against the wall, chained tightly. In nearby cells other soldiers that had been arrested during the coup sat, and while the knights were quiet, these would shout out or cry now and then. As they were, hidden from the sun, none of them had a clear sight of how long they had been locked up, except to count the meals.

A light pierced the dark, shining from the end of the hallway. Several of the prisoners stirred, calling out to whoever it was, obscuring the sounds of the newly arrived walking past them. Soon the source of light would stop before the cell of the former King's Guard, and stepping up to the bars Rhaegar Targaryen looked down on the three figures, saying nothing for the moment. His garb was a splendid outfit of black with red accents, a thick coat hanging from his shoulder, the crown bearing heavy on his head. The crown that had sat on King Aerys' head as he was struck down. None of the knights spoke up either, instead watching to see what the soon to be King would say.

I had hoped you would reconsider. Rhaegar finally said, his voice silencing the other prisoners. Would you bend the knee and serve me as my King's Guard, as you did my father?

To see you die as your father?
Lewyn Martell asked, spitting in the direction of the king.

No. Was all the answer Gerold Hightower had. He had barely survived the encounter.

I will honor the oath I said before your father till the end of my days. Barristan Selmy said, the last to denounce Rhaegar.

Rhaegar shook his head, sighing deeply. His eyes took on a sad cast as he took one last look on the three men, then turned and walk away, speaking quietly.
They are all yours.

Stepping out from the shadows, Zahel approached the cage as the king left. The other prisoners called out, offering their services to the king, but they were ignored. Meanwhile Zahel unlocked the cage and stepped inside. First he approaced Gerold, seizing within the man and pulling out a dark mass, nearly impossible to see in the increasingly dim light. With his other hand he cut through the mass, separating it from the knight. Immediately Gerold sunk down, no longer moving. Barristan and Lewyn both pulled back, but could not escape as Zahel proceeded to do the same to both of them, their screams cut off as they passed out. More screams would follow as the pirate moved onto the other cells, and soon the dungeon would be as quiet as if it was empty.
