Zalera was discovered, and he looked for a way to even the odds should he move upwards. The marines knew he needed this deck, and so they knew he dared not risk damaging this ship. They had only needed to wait, but in that turn they gave the pirate time to prepare. Time to show his craftiness. Zalera once he started to look around noticed that he was on the exact floor he needed to be. Several cannons were laid out in front of their closed windows, awaiting their eventual fire. A weapons cache or something long those lines he would not find on this floor, he'd only find the iron balls and their munitions casked next to it. It had some gunpowder, but not a mountain's worth of it, naturally. Zalera could start his plan, but he'd equally hear those above moving and running around. The marines up top were also planning something, but what he could not detect, not even with his skilled application of mantra.

Level 3

Magellan looked on with a boiling anger at the death of one of his subordinates. Cruel, respectless and clearly done as an act to make him furious. The Warden, while seething internally, kept the lid on his anger and pushed it back down. There was a time and place to draw from that boiling pot, but now was not the time. Crocodile would funnel the poison fog towards level 4 clearing the area and impeding one of Magellan's plans. Spada began to play for Orphan, increasing their abilities in the hopes of blitzing through the Warden's forces. " Now! GUARDS OF IMPEL DOWN. LET'S GET THEM!"

This was it, the final clash between Orphan and the Impel Down forces. Spada would notice that behind Magellan, various red eyes would pop up in existence. The Impel Down guards through their masks and equipment looked like a brigade straight out of hell. Magellan would take off his horns and grabbed them like brass knuckles. La Spada would come down with a slash towards the Warden, who in response brought forth his right arm. The two generals clashing in the middle as their subordinates equally clashed in the background.

The forces of Orphan would come under the assault of heavy gun fire, each round consisting of an incredibly high fire grade. Those who managed to go around for a flank would be shelled by explosions blasting up poisonous gas. It was meant to suppress and pin down the pirates who were ill equipped for war. Their arms only consisting of either the dreams make shift weaponry or the lower grade arms of Impel Down. The weapons fired and aimed by men and women who were intensively trained, far beyond the regular fodder that would walk the halls of Impel Down.

But these weren't the normal Impel Down guards. This was the hell unit, those who could stand beside Magellan longer than a regular individual. A combat squad only initiated when the highest security alarm has been sounded. And they only fight once, for they fight till death.

Zephyr and Crocodile, who, arguably, were the strongest pawns in this war, would find themselves occupied by the two strange fellows who stood beside Magellan. Their physique, however, shifted from scrawny looking to nearly beefcake size. Inhaling something through the mask that was equipped on their head, whatever it was, it augmented their physical stats through the roof. Even Zephyr would note that their strength was formidable and that they wouldn't be able to walk over this squad like they figured.

Back in the centre of the floor, poison would start to coat Magellan, who had found himself to lose the clash in strength. Spada by far eclipsed him in that department. "Venom Stomp" The Warden would say as from his back a massive arm spawned, only for it to come swinging down with incredible force. A palm strike aimed to engulf Spada's entire being. The centre of the hand coated in armaments. Boosting the man's attacking power.

The attack more or less aimed to separate the two champions, and should it find success in that regard would allow the Warden to speak once more. And perhaps the final time, as he did not enjoy idle chatter. "I see you're dragging dead weight with you, Spada. Or at least your members seem to still cling onto a shred of humanity. She begged for mercy that one, grovelling below my feet. But you shall not find that with Impel Down. We shall fight until our very last breath, dismantled piece by piece what's left will not decease"

"FOR WE ARE IMPEL DOWN THE WARDENS FROM HELL!"

Preparations were made. Two cannons were lined up, each with a cannonball and a small amount of gunpowder, only enough to rip a hole in the deck from below, but not enough gunpowder to damage the deck from below. The gunpowder, all of it, was collected into two large packets, held together by the cloth he would find. The two cannons were aimed at each end of the deck, and Zalera held the gunpowder packets in his hands, twirling.

The Scion took a deep breath, counting those on top, figuring where the bulk of them were at; that’s where he would aim the cannons.

[Zalera] One chance. Timing must be flawless.
A shadow enveloped Zalera’s face, his burnt skin clad in dark. Slowly, white teeth grew from the darkness. The man lit the canon and the cannonball ripped through the deck of the ship, making a gaping hole. Flipping the large packets of gunpowder, they followed, launched up in the air behind the cannonballs. Suddenly, Zalera disappeared, using a Soru-like movement to jump out the side of the ship, where the canons were pointed at, jumping to the deck from the side, handguns drawn In both hands. The packets opened up at their height, spewing gunpowder around the deck like a mist.

Upon clearing the deck, Zalera shot the gunpowder mist whilst mid-air with perfect shots, enflamed. This ignited the large amount of gunpowder, creating a fiery explosion atop the deck, blanketing like a fiery mist, aiming to wipe out a considerable amount of enemies. Because the gunpowder was spread, it did not tear the deck, protecting it yet still with offensive power.

Gliding atop the fiery explosion, Zalera used its concussion force to flip to the bird’s nest, getting to a high position and watching the wreckage from above.

The clash between the two commanders came first, the collision acting as a starting gun. The two armies would move in, the roaring of battle echoing through Impel Down. Zephys and Crocodile took on the captains, and Orphan began to battle through the high-tech weaponry. In the middle of the shouting, shells, gas, bullets, and air blasts, La Spada stared down the Monster of Impel Down. Welcome to the Battle of Transgression.

The Warden created a large arm of poison, coming down on La Spada. The Grim widened her eye sockets in apparent fear, as the arm slammed into her, her scream echoing.

[La Spada] “AHHHHHHH!!!!!! IT BURNS!!! IT BURNS!!!!!!”

Magellan stood looking down at the writhing skeleton, writhing as she screamed in pain, body contorting. The Warden’s words echoing through the chorus of La Spada’s screams of pain. Screams of a woman defeated. With unnerving force, Warden Magellan seemed to have defeated Death herself.

Suddenly, a chill passed by the Warden.

[La Spada] “Just kidding…”

The voice came from behind Magellan, filled with a sarcastic tone. It was all a game. A game for La Spada’s entertainment, and Magellan was the joke. La Spada had her sword drawn, slowly coming back to her sheathe, black as night. It would take a few seconds. A few seconds for Magellan to realize what had happened, as La Spada’s laughter echoed.

[La Spada] “Song of Scratches: Blizzard Strike!!!”

A slash would theoretically manifest itself on Magellan’s bodyl on his right shoulder in a diagonal slash. The attack vibrated with unnerving haki, soul power, and strength, slashed with speeds unseen (120). The slash aimed to literally bisect Magellan’s right hand cleanly off.

Poison dripped down La Spada’s boney body. Though the impact of the blow made minuscule cracks in her Skelton, La Spada was unaffected by poison or pain. With no skin or organs, the poison had no effect.

Through careful planning and preparation, Zalera had made his way towards the upper deck. A gaping hole followed the loud explosion, to which most of the crew members would turn and prepare their counter fire. However, they'd only spot the packets of gunpowder going upwards through it. The expression of the men and women upon seeing it was enough to tell Zalera that he had caught them by surprise. A few clicks from his pistols later and a cascading chain of explosions followed later, blanketing the deck of the ship while also taking out a majority of the crew up above.

The Scion high above in the crow's nest would observe the results of his actions. Safe for two soldiers, he had got most of the crew. They were, in most circumstances, critically wounded. But surprisingly they held on and if their haki was anything to go by, still going strong. These two were the final road block for Zalera, if he defeated them. The ship was his. However, his loud and bombastic actions were drawing a lot of attention to the ship. He could hear whispers of the nearby navy vessels. It wouldn't take long for reinforcements to arrive. The navy was a different beast than Impel Down. They did not hesitate to support one another.

"He's at the crow's nest. A gunslinger from the looks of it. Can you draw him to close quarters?" The one with the blond hair would say.
"It's been a while since I tasted my own blood. Let's get this fool." The one with the black hair replied.

The man with the black hair would dash upwards towards the crow's nest with impressive speed.

"Sup?"
Without waiting for a proper reply from Zalera the black haired man had already brought his right leg upwards and slammed it down with incredible force towards the Scion's left shoulder. The aim, to blast him towards the deck.

Magellan and Spada were locked into heavy conflict. Shouts of men and women engaged in combat combined with the rapid booms of bullet fire echoed all around these two champions. The warden, however, struck first. A purple demon hand had smacked down on Spada hard, crushing her between the weight of this demon hand and the stale, dry ground below. La Spada, in an Oscar worthy act, pretended to be harmed grievously. Magellan would retract his demon arm, slowly lifting it from the ground as he observed the outcome of his attack. He'd look closely at the state of Spada and frowned, this was far too easy. And his fears were made manifest only a moment later.

A voice from behind him called, forcing Magellan to widen his eyes with sheer shock and terror. His mantra also flashed at this point, but it was far too late. All the man saw was a vision of something that had already come to pass. For the difference in physical abilities was so vast that it made even the Stoic warden dumbfounded.

The man turned and only now had fully comprehended the strike that was inflicted upon him. An Iai strike delivered with such precision and swiftness that it had slipped past his defences and natural reaction. The result? Blood gushed out of the wound Magellan had received on his body, even his right hand had been sent upwards.

"Urgh!"
The result of this first clash had left an enormous impact on the tide of this war. The unthinkable has happened. Warden Magellan's poison had no effect and to make matters worse he was critically injured. Magellan was forced to a knee as blood seeped through most of his wounds and especially from his right wrist. But the man grit his teeth and gave Spada no ounce of peace. The purple poison around him would bubble as it seemingly started to cook before shifting into a noxious dark green colour. Steam also emanated from Magellan. "Scorpion Mode: Hydra!"

Magellan shouted as from his back a massive mythological creature spawned and rushed straight towards Spada. The short distance between her and him and the incredible size of this being made it incredibly hard to avoid fully, for the drake was faster than Magellan himself. Spada if she chose to take the attack yet again through a feeling of superiority. Would quickly find out that this poison was different, having switched on the more acidic nature it could burn through most materials while also poisoning them from within but on a much lower level. This poison was directed more to those who could resist his regular poison.

81-100: 3. Large Building Level +3(A-Rank) +1(Haki) = 7. Mountain Level

Scorpion Mode

Magellan's poison turns a dark green increasing the acidity of his attacks allowing him to melt through even solid rock and perhaps even higher materials. While the poison itself only inflicts paralysis, the brunt of the power comes from its capabilities to melt through most materials.

The deck was subject to a fiery explosion. Ingenious planning and deadshot gave birth to a plan most productive. Zalera had taken the ship, but-for two men. Two beings that Zalera sensed to be powerful survived. While looking down from the crow’s nest, Zalera saw the man appear, one with black hair and an aura of dissonance.

The man introduced himself before attacking, leg to shoulder.

[Zalera] “Ugh! Damn it all!”

Zalera was blasted downward, lost in the thinning smoke. His body hit the deck hard. From the cracked deck, the burnt-faced man pulled himself up. He looked upwards at the solider looking down on him, before looking at the blond man. The Scion chuckled, before pulling out a large rifle from his back. This one was different, with a larger barrel on top of a pistol-sized barrel.

A light flickered menacingly, as Zalera nodded at the two, issuing a challenge. Come.

A game. And the Warden was the punch line. La Spada’s words, “just kidding” echoed in Impel Down, rallying Orphan. Their demeanor was charged when Magellan’s limb flew. In one swift move, the Grim had critically injured Magellan. One could suppose La Spada could have taken his head instead, but the woman enjoyed playing with her prey far too much.

La Spada had turned, now facing the enraged monster. The Grim’s chuckled, clapping at her performance. It was met by a green scorpion, and La Spada’s eyes glowed red.

The woman brought her blade backwards, clad with haki, using it to clash against the scorpion. The black blade and the scorpion clashed, vibrating the air. The scorpion, through haki, was made tangible, held at bay. The sword, clad in spirit, was protected. However, Magellan roared, pumping more power. La Spada was pushed back, using her blade to parry the scorpion at he last second, yet her body thrown back.

La Spada crashed hard against a cell, bones cracking as she grunted. Drips of the poison appeared on various parts of her skeletal ribs, burning off chunks. They were quickly frozen to prevent further damage, but damage was done. La Spada gritted her teeth.

[La Spada] “Curses! Yah’ really are a monstah’. If only. If only I had skin….”

Words that were true, but sarcastic. La Spada had been coincidentally thrown where Maria’s body had been ruthlessly discarded earlier. The Grim looked at the corpse with a manic look. Magellan would be witness to the defacement of the corpse, cut in pieces. Right in front of his eyes, he witnessed something foul. Something only true evil could do.

La Spada cut the limbs and head and put it on herself as “armor”.
[La Spada] “Do be careful, mah’ sweet. Wouldn’t want to harm yah’ precious personnel. After all, what would her soul say?”
A sarcastic voice with pedantic meaning directed at Magellan’s psyche. La Spada wore Maria’s legs as pants, her arms as sleeves, her torso as a vest, and her head as a hat. A truly gruesome sight. La Spada licked the blood off her blade, Maria’s blood, as she slowly walked to Magellan.

Round two, with a hint of mental torture.

Zalera was sent reeling down towards the deck with remarkable force. Should he look up after this he'd spot a playful grin upon Keisuke's face. However, neither of the 3 men were down for the count. And kept up the pressure. The scion drew a new rifle from his back and was about to issue a challenge, but the blond marine, Ken, was already moving towards him. The blonde fellow's right fist turned into a mixture of red and black, Zalera would sense that the black wasn't haki. For he hadn't tempered it to such a degree. The attack was filled with haki, but not to the extent to harden his fists.

From mid to short range, Ken would fire his right arm into a punching motion, releasing the weird mixture on his arms into the air. "Gunpowder fist: Powder curtain!" The marine shouted as he hurled his arm with such speed the air in front of him heated up and released a cascading set of explosions towards Zalera. Eventually, one of them would reach him. From up above, Keisuke looked on with piercing eyes, looking for an opening to catch the sniper off guard.

Magellan stood up, left arm on his right as to cover up the gaping wound. Dark green poison still oozed from his person, dripping on to the ground like a shotty leak, each hit would cause steam to rile up. An introduction as to how potent this new acid type was, rock could not defend against it, so neither would bones. Or so the warden calculated. Spada, still toying around, was sent crashing against a nearby cell, cracking and causing damage to various portions of her body. The mad woman would comment on Magellan's new poison and afterwards did something completely unprecedented.

Not even Magellan's worst nightmares could come up with the madness that this pirate was displaying right now.

Having sliced and diced Maria, Spada was now wearing one of Magellan's subordinates like an armour. To what extent. The warden did not know. But one thing he knew for certain. It was to create chaos in his mind, or perhaps break his spirit. If it was any other person within, Impel Down. It would've perhaps worked. But not for Magellan. It only sought to enrage him even more. And perhaps that was Spada her plan all along.

"You disgusting creature!" Magellan would say, as an enormous amount of dark green liquid would ooze out of him. Bursting the pipes, so to speak.
"Blight Town!!!"

Magellan shouted and nearly exploded with liquid, coating and submerging a large portion of the area around him and Spada. It'd push anyone nearby away from him and her, effectively creating a tournament ring or a domain. Anyone who'd step foot in it would feel their body immediately attacked. Spada too would feel the effects as this pool of poison came to her ankles. It'd start to bite and slice at her physical structure. Sweat started to form on Magellan's face, for this technique looked to be an immense hit on his stamina. It was not awakening, but something that came very close to it. One would shiver at the thought of this man, awakening in mid-battle. Luckily, he was no protagonist in this story.

Spada with perhaps still the same glee upon her face would notice that from within the pool of poison various dark green beings would sprout to life, as if dragging themselves out of an early grave. These being were made completely out of this poison and had no human like features safe for eyes and a mouth that were seemingly crafted on to them. For without these they were dark green blobs with arms and legs.

The stage was set, and between Spada and Magellan stood an army of poisonous creatures. And Spada would quickly deduce one thing, like a cook who could instantly tell that a dish had no spice.

These creatures had no soul nor power indication. They could fly under her radar.

" Bunshin Daibakuha!"Magellan shouted following a large explosion.

And then it happened, from behind Spada a creature was inches away from exploding. Aiming to engulf her entire being with this scorpion poison. And hopefully burning through a large portion of her skin like armour.

Blight Town A-Rank
An environmental technique were Magellan paints a large portion of the area with an incredible amount of poison. Effectively creating a domain around him and his opponent. It is a technique for those incredibly few individuals who could resist his poison to a certain degree. For this technique was developed to keep attackers within his realm. An ordinary foe would simply leave its area of effect. Major poison(continuous)

Bunshin Daibakuha! B-Rank
Great clone explosion allows Magellan to explode one of his poison dolls at close range, engulfing his opponents with a large dose of poison. Due to the beings being conjured and manipulated by Magellan. They are effectively able to circumvent any mantra or other types of detection. And due to their lack of ordinary combat skills, they more or less function as walking landmines and bombs.

The Scion saw himself against two. One came. Ken came with a frontal attack. He kept his distance, punching the air. In a moment, the Scion’s eyes glowed red. The intent of this Marine was palpable, revealing. Zalera pulled his makeshift gun with the revolver and the rifle and pointed it forward, screaming as the explosions erupted.

[Zalera] “Do you know what a wicked soul clouding your own does to your state of mind? Zalehahahaha! MANIC!!”
Time stopped. In Zalera’s shoulder a rotting bite mark glowed with the soul injected of something foul. Something to make the Scion manic. The next would be three shots rung out in such quick succession, they appeared to occur simultaneously. The shots, too, were a mere millisecond behind each other, except the delayed third shot, the Scion’s prowess at full display.

The first shot went into the explosion, piercing through it. The bullet missed Ken completely, sticking into the ground right next to his left leg. The second went upwards, hitting the weakest point of the crow’s nest, destroying it and forcing it to come down - where Keisuke was.

[Zalera] “Sonic Shot… Deadshot!”
The first bullet, upon impact, would activate, releasing an ear splitting noice that would theoretically pierce Ken’s ear. Enough to make his ear bleed, to put him completely off balance. On cue, the third bullet, this one fired from the large barreled rifle and egg-sized, came behind the path made by the fist one. A second and a half after the Sonic shot, the third bullet aimed to hit Ken in his waist, dead-center.

Zalera was blown back. The initial bullet lacked AOE, unable to stop the larger explosion. The Scion’s body careened against the deck before he flipped upwards. Blood was present on Zalera’s front, the explosion taking damage. Zalera had sacrificed his body to hurt the guard: Manic. True to his “manic” state, Zalera laughed, licking his blood, rifle already pointed.

La Spada’s cackles echoed through the sounds of fighting all around them. Amor. A morbid sight that would go down in legend. Legend of those prisoners released who witnessed La Spada’s macabre actions. Those that would give more infamy to the most evil pirate to have existed. A woman with no boundaries, only an unfiltered wish to kill.

Magellan screamed with anger. La Spada had propped her open palm to her, or rather, Maria’s ear, as if waiting to hear Magellan’s reaction. Like a manic child, La Spada laughed with glee when she heard the Warden curse. Almost like a child looking at cartoons. Music to her ears. La Spada’s bones cracked with manic glee.

Yet, the Warden used rage to take his power to new heights.

[La Spada] “How do humans have such incredible power? They are, after all, inferior creatures.”

La Spada clad a grin. Her sarcasm and derisive words a chorus to Magellan’s anger. La Spada did not halt her approach. Instead, her sword became black, glowing with soul and intent, as his her body, glowing beneath the armor. The poison seeped to her feet, gently burning off Maria’s legs and feet worn as armor. The poison froze before it could wither more. Suddenly, an explosion occurred behind The Grim.

La Spada jumped forward, avoiding the worst, but getting hit on her back. The body of Maria, worn as a vest, protected her bones. The armor began to deplete. In that jump forward, La Spada collected her soul power and slashed downward, sheathing her blade. Suddenly, the pool of poison Magellan had formed, quickly froze.

[La Spada] “Soul Parade: Ice Burn!!”

The Grim’s power of the Devil was much stronger than Magellan, and with poison being liquid, the freezing would be even quicker and deeper - everything poison froze, including the “beings”. La Spada had suddenly disappeared from her position, using the ice rink and her bones to “skate” on them, moving at even higher speeds. La Spada’s hand was on her blade again, her hands in terrible black.

[La Spada] “Soul Polka…. Remise!”
La Spada appeared to the left of Magellan, in his blind spot, several meters away. The Grim’s swordhand was cocked back, suddenly delivering several thrusts with unnatural speed. It was such that it appeared to be done with several hands at once. From it came dozens upon dozens of air blasts the size of eggs, acting as bullets that riddled the area.

The light-show illuminated the area, quivering black with terrible haki. The bullets spread through all the skate rink. The frozen “beings” would potentially be shattered. To Magellan, they aimed to riddle him with holes. There were enough to wound him considerably, but not enough to kill.

La Spada sought more. A soul called for Magellan’s life.

Exchanges were made. Ken delivered a frontal widespread attack while Zalera skilfully released a barrage of 3 shots. The first one would rip through the explosion, but hitting the ground near Ken. The young man still going strong with his own technique, oblivious to the traps his opponent was already setting right in front of him. The second one would move towards Keisuke, destroying the crow's nest and hoping to bury the other marine with it. Keisuke, however, was quick on the uptake as he heard the wood behind him loosing its fortitude. A quick look and a few hops through skywalk were all it took to keep him within safety.

Ken on the other hand was in a worse situation. The first bullet would detonate and unleash a hellish screech near the young man. Through reflex, the Admiral rushed his hands to his ears, shielding them from further arm. However, it also prevented him from defending properly. His eyes flashed red, mantra aiding him to the best of his abilities. But he'd sadly never make it in time. Ken straightened himself and braced himself for damage.

The bullet wound would immediately be apparent on his waist, as a cough quickly followed suit. Internal bleeding was instantly created by this serious wound. Mind you, these two men had already tanked a serious explosion earlier. So they weren't on great standing to begin with. Ken would be forced to drop to a knee, which in a moment turned into both his knees. His left hand on his wound while his right hand touched the deck, the only thing that prevented him from completely falling over.

"Diable Jambe: Flambage Shot!" A voice from above shouted towards Zalera.

Keisuke immediately rushed towards the offensive to aid his comrade in need. His right leg fully ablaze and aimed to strike Zalera right on the head with all the power he could muster. Whether it was enough remained to be seen.

Level 3
The fight between Spada and Magellan continued. The warden's surprise attack worked to some extent, having successfully depleted most of her wicked armour. The man didn't care, but sadly he was moving towards Spada her tune, at least for now. Magellan's blight town technique was almost instantly shutdown by the pirate, having turned it into a frozen wasteland in but mere moments. This display only served to further shock the warden. Just how far did the abilities of this devil fruit go? Reincarnation, soul manipulation and now the ability to emit frost? She was almost a complete counter to his own set of abilities. Was all of this preordained? It was too much of a coincidence, he felt.

Once again Spada vanished from sight, but this time Magellan had failed to even spot a blur. The ice below her feet, enhancing her already swift movement to another tier. Veins would pop on the man's head as dark circles quickly formed below his eyes. He hated this ability and that he was forced to use it, for now he had set himself upon an even greater timer.

Venom was pumped into his veins, a chemical compound created by the navy's science division. But absorbed into his being. Only he was fully immune to its after effect. The destruction of one's physical body. This venom could eat someone from the inside out before it'd bestow it's desired effect. Only a select few could resist a small dosage of it. Because of that, it was deemed a failure of a project. But Magellan and his crew saw a need for it and still accepted the remnants of that project. All the current guards with the gas masks were inhaling a diluted version of it, enhancing their abilities, but not to the level of Magellan and his previous guards who were keeping Zephyr and Crocodile occupied.

Air blasts the size of eggs were starting to pellet the man, the first few would hit their mark. But it'd also allow the warden to finally react, to some extent at least.

With haki primed black all over him, Magellan saw to soften the initial blow as much as possible before he countered. Taking on the storm of air slices like the champion of Impel Down that he was. Spada could also feel it, through haki and her own soul reading. The man before her had powered himself up to his absolute limits.

"HYDRA!!!" The man shouted, never flinching as he pushed through the Polka remise.

The wounds inflicted upon Magellan were serious, life threatening to any ordinary opponent in most circumstances. But the man doped up through Venom could bite through this pain like never before. The recoil of this ability would hit him much later, obviously, but for now he had received a second wind. With the polka remise drawing to its end, the last remaining slivers of pellets that were released would be annihilated by the incoming dragon. Its head hardened by haki making it that more resilient for frontal attacks. Spada would be the witness of an incoming green dragon that was even eating her newly formed ice.

With only a few moments between her stopping her attack and Magellan launching his counter, one could only wonder how Spada would respond.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #32
@QuickZilver708 @Gambit

Dock
The Scion sacrificed his body. The attack was a success. Suddenly, a fire roared from above. Zalera’s eyes glowed red, seeing the kick busting through his head. Reeling from the last sequence, all Zalera could do was lift his left arm upwards to block, letting go of his prized rifle. The kick hit the left elbow, making a significant sound of impact. The arm held, before the camera turned to X-ray, showing the bone cracking and breaking in two.

An explosion followed, the flaming kick blowing part of the deck away, making a crater. The man had severely handicapped Zalera - he could no longer use his prize rifle. With the first blow and this, Zalera was worst for the wear, pushed to his limit. Silence took the area through the thinning smoke.

[Zalera] “You are worthy. I shall release you from your suffering…”
Zalera’s voice came. The Scion appeared behind the young man, his revolver on his right hand and pointed at his head, the nozzle nestled into his hair from behind. Zalera had used a Soru-like technique to flip behind the man, Zalera’s blood everywhere, using the aftermath of the attack against him, likely stuck in the crater. Not a moment went by after the words were uttered and fear would theoretically set in. Bang!

[Zalera] “Deadshot: Double Tap!!”
Two shots. One to the head and the second to the heart from behind. The skill was so great, it seemed to be shot at the same time. The two had skill and power, but Zalera had durability. Durability to tank the hits and retaliate, with deadly accuracy. Heavily wounded and only able to use his revolver, would he finally gain the escape ship?

Level 3
Pushed to the brink. The Warden of Impel Down saw himself in peril. True to his fame, the warden was not quelled. The Venom Mode. The whole Impel Down would be witness to a man worthy to be given the reigns of one of the three bases of the World Government. Warden Magellan pushed back, roaring out like a bat out of hell.

The Venom Hydra came forth. La Spada could only widen her eyes, bringing her sword once more to block, turning full body haki. The hydra took La Spada off her feet, slamming her into the nearby wall among the now-very real screams of The Grim. The impact echoed. Everyone in the room stopped and turned to the green venom now in a small puddle.

Isis “La Spada” had fallen.

[Zephyr] “It’s good to see Justice has not eroded in the new generation. W-What a monster!”

Zephyr had stopped his battle and looked upon the Commanders’ battle, to the being on the floor. A second stood commanding, now a literal demon of Impel Down. Orphan looked upon the aftermath with tension and desperation. Suddenly, Crocodile‘s eyes widened. A voice ripped through Level 3, a voice darker than before, almost beet red, responding to Zephyr.

[La Spada] Yes… He’s so talented, I’m reluctant to make the kill…”
Ares’ mouth gaped open in shock. As if rising from the grave, a true demon rose. The Grim Reaper. Spada’s whole skeleton was surrounded by a demon aura. La Spada’s shaved horns grew violently, surrounded by flames. Her tail became surrounded by flames, illuminating her body. The Grim glowed in beet red, seemingly transforming into a whole form: Full Demon.

A return for the history books. Infamy born from those witness.

[Satango] “IMPOSSIBLE! La Spada is alive! S-s-he is on her feet! S-s-she’s glowing! Survived it all! H-H-HOW COULD SHE?!

With the rise, music filled the air, born out of a tail striking chords. Music setting a dark background to the resurrection. Music that was so fierce and foul, one could taste La Spada’s wicked soul in its tune. A ballad to March and a ballad of Lament. A dual orchestra of wanting. An orchestra of Death.

La Spada’s flesh armor had been eaten away. No longer were small scratches. Now, large chunks were missing from La Spada’s skeleton. Major Damage. If it was not for the flesh armor, the full body haki, and freezing the poison on her skeleton, La Spada would have withered away. Instead, however, Magellan had awakened La Spada - she was no longer playing. Magellan woke the dragon.

That foul voice echoed through all of Impel Down.

[La Spada] “DRAGON OF THE DARKNESS FLAME!!!
The foulest aura surrounded La Spada, her body glowing violently. Voice of wanting. The aura that enveloped La Spada was so thick, it was visible. The area around La Spada did not just freeze, it withered away. The stench of the Underworld ripped through Impel Down. The poison once there turned brittle and withered. Withered with spirits foul. Withered by a soul consumed. A soul to call the Darkness.
[Prometheus] “I… don’t believe it’s true. She’s going to attempt the Darkness Technique!”

[Medusa] “The ’Dakness’? What does that mean?!”
[Prometheus] “It’s incredibly dangerous! Hades talked of it once, but I didn’t think anyone could do it!”
One hand. One palm. La Spada slowly rose her bony palm upwards, presenting it to the onlookers. Suddenly, a green light, a soul, appeared on her open palm. A soul foul. A soul that had waited for decades for this moment. The black Bushokoku haki on The Grim’s spirit coated it, spreading. Dark beams of light enveloped Level 3. The very earth prepared to welcome something unnatural.

La Spada’s manic voice swept the grounds. The Grim’s eyes stared deep into Magellan’s eyes.

[La Spada] “Yah’ know, it’s impossible to control it completely! Once I release it, I have no say…”
La Spada’s hand shook. Black lightning spawned off her palm, hitting the walls and cells around her, creating small explosions. The onlookers could feel their body, their emotions, swayed by the foul spirit running amock. The soul, the foul songs, the overbearing spirit - weaker men would grow corrupt. Suddenly, the green soul vibrated foul, and the roar of a dragon echoed.

That foul. A wanting fixed on the Warden. Orphan would be witness. This was no longer a battle. This was an execution.

[La Spada] “I have the power to pull yah’ into oblivion. I assume just mah’ right arm will do.”
[La Spada] “You should never have insulted the Unsundered. Because, you see, in a way, that soul has its own mind… and loathes disrespect! Resisting it is not something I would do…”
The ice that covered the area was shining. Shining like diamonds, driven by the soul. A manic voice echoed. An Unsundered voice.

[Unknown Voice] "ZEHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Impel Down @Ichimonji

Docks
Zalera was reeled back due to the incredible clash between him and Keisuke. Smoke and smouldering wood took the young man's immediate surroundings, creating a curtain he could not peer through.

"Keisuke, BEHIND!" Ken shouted towards his comrade, blood followed from the young man's mouth almost immediately.

Ken's mantra was more tuned than Keisuke and the former knew what would happen. But alas, it was almost for nothing. For Zalera had blitzed the young man through a soru-like technique. The scion stood firm and ready with the pistol already aimed at the young officer's head, the cold iron touching his scalp. It was also here that Keisuke's eyes flash red, far too late, and the young man took peace with his fate.

"It's been fun Ryuuji, I'll see you on the flip side" Keisuke said moments before the revolver went off.

The double tap technique would make immediate contact with the young marine, hitting his head and heart with accuracy and skill he could not defend against, not in his already weakened state at least. The man would finally hit the ground before Zalera, blood forming below him. And just like his soul, the flame around Keisuke's leg would slowly dim, mimicking his dying breath, until it was no more. The area around the scion now a dark crimson painting.

"NOOO! GOD...URGH." The other commander cried, even unable to voice his rage before he'd gurgle blood and cough it up.

But then it happened, a shift in the young man's mental state. He didn't try to cover up his wound and quickly placed both his arms up, steam rising from them as they heated up orange. Zalera would most likely widen his eyes with shock, the young man had clearly abandoned his life and was about to do the ultimate sacrifice.

" The captain goes down with the ship...take this you fucker..."

Ken would afterwards slam his arms into the deck below him, an act that also wounded him, or perhaps it was the act that worsened his already existing wound. The slam would create various cracks around the deck as they too released steam.

"The time is ticking. Gunpowder fist: fuse box!"

The young man shouted, and the scion had to act fast. If that heat from this young man's arms ever reached below deck, an explosion that could topple the entire ship would happen. Ken's eyes burned with conviction, forcing him from this place would require a substantial effort, that much was certain. Like a fuse leading to a bomb, Ken was filling up the ship with his trademark heat before he'd detonate it, a rather unique fighting style but a deadly one all the same.

Level 3
Darkness took the stage within level 3 of Impel Down. Magellan stood in actual awe as his hydra retracted into his own body, absorbed yet again. The scene the warden was looking upon was nothing but straight out of a complete nightmare. He was sure that last hit would've done the deed. And it would've. Had his opponent been someone else than La Spada, she was the devil incarnate. A scorned individual, cursed or in her opinion blessed, to roam the earth once more.

A foul music would overtake the area and even the warden could feel it in his bones. While not completely overriding his emotions as his pure rage and hatred fought against this technique, it'd still have its desired effect. Locked off from his haki it'd only suit to further fuel his blazing hatred. But it'd be a lie if the being before him did not trigger a shred of fear into his being.

And then it happened. A foul aura exploded around Spada, screeching for a sacrifice as it manifested itself into existence. The aura, now a sentient flame, took the area by their throats. Those of weaker will found themselves corrupted or even unable to keep standing on their feet. For this technique struck at the very core of an opponent, its soul. In her other hand, a green spirit shivered with excitement, barely unable to contain its lust for battle and to latch out. It was so strong even Spada commented on it.

[La Spada] “Yah’ know, it’s impossible to control it completely! Once I release it, I have no say…”
[Magellan] "Just what on earth are you?!"

Magellan replied for what would be a first in this encounter as a human. The man was a battle monster, but even he had his limits. What stood before him was something even his worst nightmares could not conjure. But the man stood his ground and replied to the foul woman in kind.

The warden would suddenly start to steam up, like a kettle finding its boiling point. The green poison coating his body now quickly oozed down once again, but shifted into a crimson poison, steaming like mad. The poison would overflow and also corrupt everything it came across. This was not acid that'd eat and decay that which it touched. This poison was more like a virus, adapting and all consuming. Only the bravest of souls would dare to step into this type of poison.

[Impel Down Guard] " EVERYONE, BUNKER DOWN! ITS THE KINJITE!"

A word of advice to perhaps the entirety of level 3. For this poison was nothing they had ever seen before. Everything this crimson colour touched would wither and eventually die. It's effects even stretching beyond the area it was consuming, like a virus, it'd spread and find its next victims. A foul thing, and something that'd have come from the same hell Spada had crawled out of. Also scorned with abilities that'd come from Hell, Magellan sought to respond in kind. Searching which one of them was cursed or blessed more by Hades himself.

This pool of crimson poison would stretch far and wide, eclipsing the range of blight town from earlier. It'd perhaps start to worry Spada. However, luckily or by design, all the liquid would retract nearly instantly. Absorbed like a vacuum. Magellan had taken the poison back into his being, forcing his eyes to flash red.

Venom Demon: Jigoku no Shinpan!

The poison would now start to cover Magellan almost completely before shifting and creating something equally impossible. A large skull would rise from this poison, bringing forth a set of arms and wings. But the being just kept on growing and growing. Eventually it stopped and now a full sized titan-esque demon looked down on all the combatants of Impel Down. From the head of the skull, a noxious smoke continued to released, indicating its lethality. Magellan, however, was nowhere to be seen. At least not visibly. Those with mantra could see it, the man had taken refuge into the darkest corner of this demon, having become one with it.

" I SHALL PUT YOU BACK INTO THE GRAVE YOU CRAWLED OUT OF, SPADA! "
" WHO WILL REIGN SUPREME? YOUR DARKNESS OR MY BLIGHT? "

" RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! "

Magellan shouted, his voice booming throughout all of impel down. He was imposing and looked deadlier than ever before. And suddenly the poisonous behemoth would raise its right arm and smashed it down with incredible strength. A basic karate chop. But with devastating results should it make contact. Even from this distance the titan had plenty of range to strike Spada from its current position.

" VENOM DEMON: ICHI NO TE!"

The final battle for Impel Down erupted, and whatever its result it'd mark the world and echo for eternity.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #33
@QuickZilver708 @Gambit

Dock
The body of the young vanguard hit the floor. Zalera’s eyes burned with desire, his gaze at the blood that spread from the young man’s corpse. The Scion had said it once, he considered him worthy. Now, the man was released from suffering. Zalera held his unresponsive arm and winced, as he turned to the remaining man, now in a state of shock.

Zalera’s eyes widened. This man was also out of his mind. Punching the deck, the man cracked it, activating his ability - Zalera knew what that meant.

[Zalera] “Dammit all! Take this… Cryo Shot!!”
With no time to spare, Zalera loaded a different bullet, even with one hand, his mastery vast. Two shots rang out a moment after, aiming for the man’s outstretched arms, one for his left and another for his right. If they hit their mark, the arms would theoretically freeze, stopping the attack before it bore its dreaded intention. Anybody else would not have the ability to stop the man in time, but Zalera had ample custom ammunition, and the speed of a bullet on his dark side.

Zalera next dashed towards the man, trailing the bullets. The Scion aimed to kick the man on his side, sending him over the side of the ship and away from the deck. If successful, while the enemy was mid-air, Zalera would shoot two more shots, these B Rank bullets, one to the head and another to the heart: Double Tap.

The Scion could not fail. The Grim would not accept anything else.

Level 3
The Warden woke the dragon. How do you like me now? Orphan would be witness. This was no longer a battle. This was an execution. An execution writ in vengeful dissonance and calamity. An execution to bring infamy. An execution for the whole world to be witness. Today, Impel Down would fall. Fall to the Unsundereds’ wrath.

The Warden summoned a Hell Demon. A metaphorical match. Blight against Darkness. Who would prevail? With the Hell Demon appearing, much to everyone’s surprise, La Spada merely smiled. Utter confidence.

Then, it happened. Came forth a dark Dragon, summoned from the soul that sought Impel Down. The dragon coiled around La Spada’s blade, turning it into a green, dark due. From it, black lightning crackled. Power concentrated in a blade, power to tear the world asunder. Suddenly, much to the onlooker’s surprise, the blade beneath the glowing hue turned. It began to shine. Almost as if La Spada held a blade of diamond.

La Spada’s voice whispered, without an accent, pain. Almost human. Words she had uttered before.

[La Spada] “My dear. How long you must have waited? How long you must have suffered? A more loyal and diamond blade, I could not ask for.”
[La Spada] “Revenge will be yours, Uvogin.”
[La Spada] “My dear. How long you must have waited? How long you must have suffered? A more loyal and diamond blade, I could not ask for.”

[La Spada] “Your soul shall tear these walls that imprisoned you. You have my word. Revenge will be yours, Uvogin.”

A demon of darkness, clad in a dragon aura of an Unsundered. A loyal diamond blade, shining in the darkness that was the dragon, vibrating with power foul. The roar of a dragon echoed, and the Grim Reaper pushed off against the Hell Demon, the sword trailing behind, withering the ground it was dragged on. The Hell Demon’s arm came, and the dragon was swung. A slash with power foul. The two attacks collided, causing the entire Impel Down to shake, lighting spawning.

Darkness prevailed. The dragon slash would theoretically cut the Hell Demon’s arm cleanly off, haki making it solid, frozen, and windvane sending the bisected arm to the distance - as if flinging a toothpick. In the next moment, La Spada was in front of the Hell Demon, inside its arm range, blade sheathed and now exploding with fury of an Unsundered.

[La Spada] “WELCOME TO OBLIVION!!!!”

The Grim Reaper disappeared from her position, appearing next behind the Hell Demon, directly behind where Magellan was inside the monster. Behind her trailed that dragon, aiming to consume the Warden. La Spada had careened past the Hell Demon, attempt at cutting it and Magellan several times in a moment. The attack was so powerful it would bisect a large continent, the whole Hell Demon; with the heart of the dragon against Magellan’s body, guided by Awareness and a thirst for blood.

The result would be a humongous explosion of ice, haki, fire, strength, and soul power. The darkness sought to take the Warden’s body. The Underworld’s darkest. An Unsundered’s revenge. An Unsundered who would tear down the walls that imprisoned him.

Through all of Impel Down, two voices would echo in tandem.

[La Spada] “SWORD OF DARKNESS OF UVOGIN’s FLAAAAMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!”
[Uvogin] “SWORD OF DARKNESS OF UVOGIN’s FLAAAAMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!”

Sword of Dragon of Darkness Flame: The user imbues the very soul of Hades to her sword, darkening him further with Haki. Employing the iai resheathe technique Hanauta Sancho: Yahazu Giri, the user concentrates the dragon to a single point: the blade. The technique leaves the user’s sword-wielding arm immobile for one turn.

Impel Down @Ichimonji

Ken would attempt his last resort, trying to take down the ship with him. Zalera could not let this happen, his life depended on it. The scion quickly reacted by loading a different set of ammo and almost immediately fired. The rounds would hit Ken's arms, for he did not care anymore as to what happened to him. But what he didn't anticipate were elemental rounds.

Frost would settle into his arms, impeding his ability from deploying, or rather stalling it significantly. With the young man's arms now frozen, Zalera quickly dashed behind his own attack and delivered the final blow in this battle. With a kick, Ken was sent reeling off the deck and off the boat, heading towards the ocean. Unable to defend, he was at the mercy of Zalera's coup de grâce. The double tap technique fired and took Ken's life. And even if it didn't the ocean would take care of the rest.

At long last, Zalera took the ship. But he had to fight tooth and nail to get it. One would hope the ship hadn't sustained too much damage in this fight.

----------------------------------

The darkness roared within Spada her hand. Taking its full physical shape into that of a mythological dragon. Magellan also was witness to this, but he did not care and continued with his own technique. Meanwhile, the dragon would coil around Spada and her blade, fusing with it and becoming a weapon clad with the darkness flame. The two warriors were set and at long last clashed with their full might. Magellan with a karate chop that'd inflict rot upon any who'd dare to come near or touch it, and Spada with a flame that could erase nearly anything it touched. So far, no one had been able to resist the darkness flame. Even Magellan would feel that it was unnatural and out of this world, but it'd not deter him, as he continued with his attack.

But then a nightmare turned reality.

Within as much as a blink, Magellan would be made witness to his hell demon's hand being sliced off cleanly and afterwards burnt to a cinder. But this single act was but a forebode to the pirate's pièce de résistance. For in that single moment Spada had already used her vastly superior speed to dash, cut, dash and cut her way towards victory. All in one impossibly swift movement. Magellan with his boosted reaction would now be able to follow her to some degree, but this hulk of a demon was far too slow to respond in time. And then it happened, an enormous explosion of almost everything Spada had in her arsenal.

"UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" - The warden screamed out in pain for what might've been the first time in his life. For the pain that was inflicted upon him was beyond comprehension.

La Spada would stand behind the warden as he was being burnt alive. The Darkness did not hold back for anyone and everyone was at its mercy, for this flame could only be guided, never fully controlled. Even La Spada mentioned that much. The fighting all around level 3 halted for they had to witness the results of this clash. The enormous explosion finally reached its climax as it expanded and finally at last died down. Smoke, ice and ashes would rain down upon everyone in level 3 with a huge curtain of smoke keeping Magellan's fate a secret.

"Oh no...there is no way right?" An Impel Down guard said, fearing the worst.
"I..I dunno. Is there someone on this earth that could resist such an attack?"
"We'll have to believe!"

Everyone was stuck watching how it all enfolded as an eerie silence took the level, clutched to their seats they with bated breath awaited the warden to come out still in fighting condition. Eventually the smoke would dim more and more, allowing one to peer through the curtain. Spada being the closest to this would be the first to peer through, and it'd most likely shock her. Behind it stood a large shadowy figure, still standing and strong. A red eye would flash through the darkness and at Spada in an event even she'd have a hard time to believe. The warden had taken the darkness flame and lived?

"The warden is still standing!" A guard shouted, to which a roaring crowd followed.

"S...pa....da...."

Magellan's booming voice had been reduced to a raspy, nearly inaudible state. The man was weakened, that much was certain, but how on earth had he managed to live through all of that? This was inconceivable, she'd think. Eventually, aura would lung at her in the form of killing intent, grasping her by the neck in a chokehold. And if she'd look around, the ground was starting to shift, turning into an actual pool of liquid. Could this be? Was this man honestly awakening his powers right here and then? Just what on earth was this man and how deep did this conviction run?

Eventually the smoke would be gone almost entirely, showing a most grim fate to everyone. The morale boosting roar immediately halted.

There stood the mighty Warden. His eyes still flashing red and on the precipice of an all new power. But the man's soul had abandoned him a long time ago. His entire left side had been deleted by the darkness flame and like a disease his right side was still in the midsts of crumbling to dust. This man was alive through sheer conviction alone, for his soul had been snuffed out moments ago. Only the shell of his body remained, moving on autopilot, guided by his lasting desire to defend Impel Down at all costs. With his right arm extended and aimed at Spada the man would speak one final time.

"Sen..go..ku...sa...n"
"Go...me...n"

And then it happened. An event no one within Impel Down held plausible for all these years. An event that was so shocking that every guard, fighter and colleague on level 3 was stunned and dazed upon witnessing this. Magellan fell onto his last remaining knee, dropping to the ground face first. With the warden now on the ground, the decay of the darkness flame took the rest of his remaining body. Reducing the once mighty warden to ash.

Magellan was no more.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #35
@QuickZilver708 @Gambit

Level 3
In the dock, The Scion had survived by the skin of his teeth, preparing the ship for escape. In Level 3, Death cometh. With both armies as witness, La Spada and Magellan clashed. What occurred next will live in infamy, as the Warden of Impel Down was cut down by the Grim Reaper, wielding the soul of an Unsundered.

The Warden, exemplary in his will and position, did not give. The monster of Impel Down would not yield. La Spadal having fallen to one knee, turned her head, her eyes widening at what she saw. Magellan stretched out his arm, his voice and soul fading. Suddenly, the body would finally yield, burning in a legendary fire for a man worthy. The Great Magellan will be remembered with reverence.

Born from Magellan’s fire, a soul materialized with a chord of a song, growing to Wotan-size, it’s malevolent voice sweeping Level 3, giving one last warning.

[La Spada] “If Anyone Still Wants Tah’ Fight...Then Come! I Will Be Yah” Opponent!”
[La Spada] “I’ll Send Yah’ Where I Sent Tha” Warden: OBLIVION!!”

La Spada’s overbearing wicked soul exploded, clamoring through all of Impel Down. The eyes of that soul were deliberate, imperative, and willed. A foreshadowing. La Spada was to awaken Color of Conqueror’s haki. With their commander devoured, La Spada preyed on their weakened spirits. Was it a bluff? La Spada was, after all, majorly wounded - that last attack taking more than Magellan’s soul. Or were these the words of a woman whose thirst for devouring did not cease? Would the Impel Down army flee or burn in the fires of creation?

Orphan stood ready. Freedoms was in their grasp. With Magellan gone, they only had to climb a few levels. A few more levels until the wicked lay unshackled.

Impel Down @Ichimonji

Level 3
What just had happened shook Impel Down to its very core. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect this event to happen. Gripping their weapons firm in their hands, pressuring them so tightly as if to force them awake from this nightmare. But alas, it was not meant to be. This was reality for these guards.

A harsh, brutal reality.

Like a hive without its queen, these men and women were slaves to the falling dominoes that was the chain of command. Without Warden Magellan, who'd take the reins? The chaos that ensued was rather shocking to see. Both Crocodile and Zephyr would find this sudden shift of morale the tipping point for them to finally push through their adversaries. Orphan in its entirety could feel that victory was within its grasp. But Spada wanted nothing more than complete and utter triumph.

From the ashes of Magellan, a soul was conjured that grew to enormous proportions spanning far and wide, even those on the opposite end of level 3 would be made witness to this event. A chilling chord accompanied its materialization. What followed from this chilling event was a wide burst of spirit, that of a king. The guards in Impel Down were sitting ducks for this ability. Their morale waned by the loss of their commander, and now both haki and music that tuned itself to their emotions dealt the killing blow.

From this mighty resistance force only a dozen or so guards remained, and even they were barely able to stand. Their will extinguished by this event, as they saw no way out of this predicament. Their chain of command was ruined, with numerous officers and commanders dead or mortality wounded. There honestly was no one left they felt that could oppose this force.

The few that could stand their ground to this overwhelming force were quickly picked out by Orphan and most likely snuffed out then and there. In but a few moments, Magellan's proud army was reduced to ruin.

Bodies scarred the land as weapons and guns were scattered all around the fighting area. Magellan's last remaining poison kept eating from the nearby rocks until that too had reached its full and returned to oblivion. Finally, at long last, Orphan was able to move forward, their escape looking more and more a reality.

Who was even left to defend this place after taking out the Warden?

There was at least someone left. Or so it'd seem. A voice starting to appear from above, and a particularly strong one. All the officers within Orphan could feel it. This voice was a very powerful one. But he was on his own.

Level 1

"Hmm. I'd advise you to take shelter, young lady. I think it is time for my afternoon walk."
"Oh...oh no....no it cannot....you're lying! This is impossible!!!!"
"We'll deal with the ramifications of this later. For now, take shelter with the others."
"But what will you do on your own? Takamura-san?"
"Do not concern yourself with me, take shelter together with the others. Now that is an order."
"Yes...yes sir."

The conversation with Takamura and the operator ended. Code omega was still very much in effect. But without a solid engagement force, this code was more or less a turtle tactic. It provided shelter to prevent further outbreaks from happening. Those that were already out, however, now had free rein. Old man Takamura would move towards the Elevator at level one, using his high clearance access to overrule this emergency level. And moved down to the place where the action just happened.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #36
@QuickZilver708

Level 3
Panic and fear swept through the Impel Down army. The Death of the Warden meant only one thing. The reality and the threat broke the guard’s spirits. Cutting the head of the snake, the body would be no more. The few that remained found themselves snuffed out, now left to rot in the Warden’s poison. The great Impel Down Army left in ruin.

La Spada’s soul came back to her. The Empress fell forward, Prometheus using his back to catch her mid-air. The Grim stood up while taking a swipe at Prometheus with her hook - which the man dodged. She needed no help. La Spada looked at her right arm, still disabled. A green light, Uvogin’s soul, came again inside the hook, to lay dormant until once more needed. To never leave The Grim’s side ever again.

[Ares] “You all feel that? Coming from the elevator.”

The God turned to the far part of the level, declaring a strong voice incoming. La Spada had taken enough time to catch her breath. The Grim fixed herself up and placed her infamous cigar in her mouth, exhaling a puff of smoke. The woman walked over the fiery remains of Magellan. She took his horned hat, placing it in her cloak, before spitting at the remnants. To think a mere Warden would take the Grim this far. Could the woman pull off another high-scale battle?

[La Spada] “Let’s go…”

La Spada turned, flapping her cloak, as she walked towards the elevator. She had first grabbed Magellan’s horned hat - a souvenir. The ones who survived the battle followed, all eerily silent - it was almost unbelievable that freedom was in their grasp. One more challenge remained.

When the elevator opened, La Spada stood resolute in front of it, her army behind her menacingly.

Level 3

Spada recovered herself from her death match with Magellan. While she did not sustain any significant damage, the warden had managed to carve out a significant portion of her life force. Calling upon the darkness flame was not without consequences. The raw power to extinguish the warden to ashes was now recoiling within her body. Would she have it in her to combat whoever it was that was moving down towards this level? It remained to be seen.

Orphan stood at the ready with Spada taking the front, observing what final challenge remained for them.

The electrical motors from the elevator buzzed as the chains rattled around them, forcing the large elevator down with remarkable speeds. Eventually, with a large thud and a blast of smoke, the cell had reached its destination, Impel Down Level 3. The doors would open up, forcing the brewed up dust cloud to settle and blasted forward. As if behind it, a large propeller stood but no it was a mere man's aura, bringing it to the surface. This was not haki nor killing intent. This was pure, unadulterated fighting spirit. And from behind those doors one single man appeared, going well beyond his 80s. This was Takamura.

The previous Warden of Impel Down. Reigning this facility in the time of Roger and the Rocks pirates.

Orphan stood eye to eye with a living legend, but they were oblivious to that fact, safe for one single individual. An equally renowned individual within the government.

"Takamura?!" - Zephyr shouted in honest disbelief, a bead of sweat dropping from his forehead.
"Zephyr. Still chained down with grief, I see." - Takamura would reply rather blunt towards his old colleague.

The old man took a few steps out this elevator, spirit radiating around him, using his katana as a walking cane. His guard was way up, his body not betraying that fact. Spada with all her experience could tell that this old man had no gaps in his defence. But those with lesser experience in combat were utterly oblivious to it Which would be proven in but a short few moments.

"Is this the last defence Impel Down has? Kyahahah! You're too late, old man! Magellan has been reduced to ashes! And now Orphan shall do the same to you! "

"All those years in level 5. We will return that pain tenfold towards you! Prepare for oblivion, you geezer!"

Two members of Orphan or rather new recruits from Ares' crew would move to intercept Takamura. With the weapons from the dream in their hand they charged with strength, conviction and speed that was in all reality quite remarkable. They were sent to level 5 for a reason, after all. These two pirates were not rookies, but feared veterans with bounties exceeding the 200 mil mark.

Unfortunately, they barked up against the wrong tree.

"Stand down, you fools!!" Zephyr shouted far too late.

Takamura would look at these two men with an unamused look upon his face. Only raising a single wrinkled eyebrow at the two men. And then it happened. A flash, a flick of one's fingers. The man zipped past these two men with his katana in his left hand, a movement that was moments away from drawing his blade. But frankly, Spada would be one of the very few to see his movements in its entirety. This was an Iai attack on a level equal to her own.

"Huh?!"
"Huh?!"

These two rookies were too slow to even realized that they had been cut into several sections. A brutal example of what strength had to mean back in the dark days of the Rocks pirate's reign of terror. The new generation had been soft and without grit for far too long. Takamura would twist his katana once more and placed it in front of him like his cane. The chunks of meat that these two pirates had been reduced too would drop behind Takamura, stacking neatly on top of one another. Boasting his skills as a butcher in combat.

"I see your nickname still lives. Human Butcher, Takamura." - Zephyr would say, revealing another piece of information.

But this time the old man did not respond to Zephyr, but would eye Spada straight in the eye, almost
staring her down. His slit eyes would slightly open up, revealing a set of amber coloured eyes.

"I offer you an accord, Spada. A way to leave this place without pursuit."
"How, does that sound?"

A stunning proposal to the entire group of Orphan most likely. But there seemed to be a catch to this accord. And in all honesty, would Spada even think of accepting an accord of this sole opponent? He was but one single man, and she had an army.

Would she dare take the risk?

It was up for her to decide.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #37
@QuickZilver708

Level 3
The elevator whooshed open. A frail old man came out. An old man who stared down an Army. An Army with The Grim Reaper. A man well past his 80’s took a step forward, that radiating spirit coming with him, bursting from the elevator. For a moment, a real chill went down La Spada’s spine, quickly replaced by the eyes of a madwoman in heat.

Takamura, or so Zephyr identified him. A living legend. La Spada did not know who he was - she was Unsundered, her last memory of a Warden being a sarcastic robot with the Doku. Yet, even without knowledge, the picture was clear. It became clearer when the two soldiers were cut in twain.

La Spada slew her infamous grin.

[Takamura] “I offer you an accord, Spada. A way to leave this place without pursuit. How does that sound?”

There was an immediate reaction. Most of Orphan were too scared to voice any. Those powerful, in the likes of Ares, Satango, and Crocodile, murmured to themselves, some even scoffed. It was not just La Spada, it was them as well. La Spada had lost significant stamina in that last attack, for summoning the dragon would drain most who call it - nothing else was hindered. Yet, another factor was at stake, and likely only La Spada had thought of it.

Suddenly, La Spada rose her hook up, silencing those who voiced.

[La Spada] “Let him speak. They may be, after all, last words.”
A response fitting for the Grim Reaper. The woman has not lost her confidence and bravado. La Spada held her grin, eyes popping with terrible intent as she heard Takamura’s offer.

Would they be something of worth, or ‘last words’?

Impel Down @Ichimonji

Orphan stood down and respected Spada her demands. It was, after all, the least they could give her. She was the one who got them this far and also defeated Warden Magellan. But only one challenge remained for Orphan and La Spada, and it might be the most difficult one. At least for any regular person. It was more a character test for Spada than anything. “Ho ho ho. A feisty one.” Takamura commented on Spada her bravado.

“In my pocket is a card that activates the elevator behind me. It’ll take you straight towards the exit and outside. I’ll even make sure the government doesn’t go after you.” The old man said. His offer was outright ridiculous. Even the stoic Zephyr couldn’t believe his ears. Takamura would raise his sword and slam it down into the ground, snapping them out of their shock.

“However. I’ll need two sacrifices from you, Spada. Be it from this group called ‘Orphan’ or your own crew. The survival of your group for the lowly price of two existing officers that’ll remain within Impel Down. Seems a low price to pay if you ask me.” Takamura said. If Spada thought about it it was a ridiculous offer. Why on earth would she accept that? But should she do so she’d not have to deal with the inevitable pursuit of the navy once she’s out. Several marine warships still remained at the top of this facility.

“Should you decline, I will fight all of you to the bitter end. And while your victory considering the odds is more or less guaranteed. I assure you. Your losses will be more than a measly two officers. I stake that upon my name as the old Warden of Impel Down. Fighting Magellan should’ve done a good number on all of you. Including you Spada.”

“Takamura you sly old fox.”
Zephyr said showing his displeasure.

“If there is one thing this man isn’t then it’s a liar. I can guarantee he’ll keep his word.” Zephyr whispered under his breath. Giving credibility to Takamura.

“You can also run away, but unlike Magellan. I’m not hesitant on including marine forces into this matter. I’m not bound by something as foolish as pride. They'll be ready by the time you're on the surface. Give it some thought, discuss it amongst yourselves. I’ll wait here.”

Takamura was calm and calculated. The old man’s demands were simple, but outright confusing. Why would he do such a thing? Was it to keep the name of Impel Down intact? Or was it to test Spada's character. Did she desire total triumph over a simple victory? Orphan was honestly not in the best of shapes, while not mortally wounded. The constant fighting had taken a toll on its members. Victory was a mere inch away. Would Spada jeopardize it over the meagre lives of 2 of her members? And who would she choose? Takamura required an officer and not simply a grunt, after all. Crocodile, Zephyr? Santango? Ares? Or perhaps even Medusa or Prometheus were choices she could make.

On the opposite end, for Takamura this was more or less the biggest bluff he had to make in his entire life. He was alone, no other officer or someone of strength was left standing. To prevent further loss of life for the marines outside and the men and women of impel down whom, up above, were still evacuating towards a secret shelter.

To prevent all of that, he was about to make a deal with the devil. Spada gets to go home free after dealing a devastating blow to the Government, while Impel Down remains standing but heavily weakened. The sacrifice of two members from level 6 ought to be enough to convince the marines from standing down, he figured. The old man also gambled on Spada her detached nature when it came to other people. A sacrifice of two men would be pocket change to her, or so he calculated at least.

She was tricky, but this was Impel Down’s last ditch effort to maintain the balance within their facility. It was either letting Spada go without resistance or risk the end of Impel Down as a government facility. Not every member or guard had managed to evacuate as yet. If left unsupervised and without any resistance force, she could even make it through the medical quarters and end the last remaining chain in the Hierarchy. Hannyabal. Who was still fighting for his life.

How would the raid of Impel Down conclude?

So here we are, the last major decision. I decided to do something a bit different with its potential 'ending'. My reasoning for going this route was to dig at Spada her character. What kind of victory would she chose? A total domination, or is the state of the current impel down enough to satisfy her? Giving up two members of Orphan would give Takamura enough credence to allow safe passage. But as to not make it entirely unfair, I've left out various options as to not force you to make this choice. Giving up potential NPCs just because a new character says so or appears out of nowhere is asking too much.

It's why I'm giving you the player and Spada the choice to take the easy route with a cost or a harder route which in turn might cost a whole lot more in the long run. Either running away or fighting Takamura is the hard route, the difference between them is negligible.

This is me experimenting with trying to find a way to bring agency in a story where the player is clearly stronger than the content itself while giving a certain amount of risk and outcome. This is Impel Down after all not some small island out on the grandline. BUT, and I honestly would not fault you for feeling this way, if you really do not like this path that you have to give up either of the characters (safe for Zephyr since he's clearly in Pangea). I can always alter it to a random level 6 character that isn't named, it provides the same I feel.

Let me know on either discord or through pms here what your thoughts on it are. I'm aware that it can be rather controversial, giving the nature of it. But you live and learn, going through the motions and churning out the same thing all the time isn't me. I always try to do other stuff and continue building, and some things work and others don't. That's just the nature of it.

I really hope this does not leave a sour after taste. But I felt this was a cool direction for the story to take. If not for this the last couple of post would be me simply guiding Spada towards the top and eventually the end. This feels more natural and a potentially closed ending with a cool and unique twist at the end. Much like how Shanks ended the marineford war, that's where I drew this inspiration from. However unlike that ending I had the feeling that Spada wouldn't back down as easily as Shanks made it out to be lol.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #38
@QuickZilver708

Level 3
The butcher spoke his “last words”. La Spada heard him through her grin. Zephyr spoke up, assuring the group he was a man of his word and a man of credence in battle. How disgusting, thought La Spada. La Spada had Impel Down on its knees, why take the sword out of the gut now? Total dominance.

Suddenly, La Spada’s killing intent was interrupted. The thick aura had a gap. A detailed onlooker could see that same green soul that felled Magellan washed over for a mere second. The only one who could awaken La Spada’s humanity, as if a flicker of light in a room full of dark madness. It was short-lived, but clarity came for a moment, subduing those malicious thoughts, before being snuffed out. The clarity that La Spada needed Takamura to open the Gates or Justice for the escape. Yet… Hell holds no quarter. The decision was heavy, but quick.

La Spada began to laugh. Laugh at Takamura’s words.

[La Spada] “‘Survival of mah’ group?’ Kuhahaha! My dear butcher, yah’ misunderstand. I do not care about any of them!”
[La Spada] “I decline to give you two sacrifices.”
There it was. The answer. The Grim did not care if everyone in Orphan died today. La Spada slowly and dramatically rose her right hand. The Grim’s boney index finger was pointed outwards, it’s end staring down Takamura; the old man stared down the barrel of a gun. The finger glowed. Glowed with a green light that turned black with wicked will. The light grew until it shone light on La Spada’s bloodshot eyes, filled with that devilish bloodlust, spanning the area.

BANG!

A body fell with a large thud. Orphan would widen their eyes. Takamura was… standing. A moment before firing, La Spada had moved her hand to the right. The Spirit Bullet had gone through a skull, leaving a hole - instant kill. Always fighting to regain beauty, never achieving peace. Medusa’s dead body hit the ground with a dramatic thud. Ugly forevermore.

Orphan turned to the body thudding, to Medusa. Using that moment of distraction and shock, La Spada disappeared. Orphan began looking at each other, trying to find La Spada - desperation and fear. La Spada‘s evil cackle made Orphan turn. She was standing nonchalantly behind Satango and Crea. They slowly turned in fear. Suddenly, their eyesight was fractured, cut in half, as their heads slid off their neck in two parts and a fountain of blood drenched The Grim.

La Spada refused to give two sacrifices. Death gave three.

[La Spada] “Tell tha’ fools in Marijeous… DEATH IS COMING FOR THEM!!!”

A maddening cackled echoed. Tales would be told, both from Pirate and marine, of La Spada’s pure evil on that day. Tales of how wicked the woman truly was. Slaying nakama as pawns. She was no pirate, La Spada was evil incarnate. Those witness would be the ones who write history. History of devilish infamy. Infamy to spread. Infamy to reach the heavens. La Spada made sure Takamura would tell the heavens.

Tell them Hell had risen.

OCC: This works perfectly! Felt off-character not killing Medusa earlier with Spada’s personality lol. Crea is a random Level 6 prisoner. :D

Impel Down @Ichimonji

Takamura remained silent, carefully observing Spada and how she would respond to this news. His left hand sat on top of the hilt of his weapon, while his right was always tucked beneath the hand guard. It'd allow the man to respond at a moment's notice, Takamura wasn't careless. This was shark infested waters, after all.

And right was he. Bloodlust swept the land and submerged the ex-chief of Impel Down. The only response Spada would get from this was the man bracing himself. His left foot would dig in the sand as he dragged it across, going behind himself. This motion would have the effect of him pulling his upper body along with it. It'd translate into the man's right shoulder facing Spada, a perfect stance for delivering an Iai motion with the flick of a finger. A green light would twirl around Spada, a familiar of some kind, Takamura would think to himself. It'd vanish as quickly as it came and then Spada finally moved. Sweat would roll from Takamura's face. Not out of fear, but out of the tension between the two.

With a laugh from the pirate empress and a quick shot of spirit, the first sacrifice had been made. Takamura would relax the tension of his shoulders reflexively. So far, his gamble was paying off.

The first one was Medusa. A long standing member of the Spada pirates. Having fought bravely against Magellan, the Gorgon had fallen out of graces with Spada and met her untimely demise here at level 3. Orphan in shock moved towards the direction of the sound and the falling corpse. But Takamura from his perspective saw it all unfold. An Iaijutsu on a level similar than Takamura was displayed right in front of his eyes. Satango and Crea would be relieved of their head before they could even register it. She'd snatch the two individuals their right to scream or feel anger. Like a flip of a button, these two were snuffed out, rendering them to oblivion for eternity.
Takamura thoughts said:
Terrifying. I commend you for clashing against this foul creature, Magellan.
Spada had upped the ante for Takamura. She had not delivered two but 3 sacrifices for her. It was more than enough for Takamura to agree to his part of the deal. The man would reach in his pockets and swiped the card in front of a reader near the elevator. The light above its doors would blink green, instead of red. It'd allow straight passage to the top of the facility. Takamura in the meantime would move to the side, signalling they were clear to move forward.

"Don't you worry. The message will be received loud and clear. Farewell. Spada" Takamura would say dry and without a hint of emotion really. The man would pick up his blade in his right and began to move towards the centre of the level. Passing by Orphan in its entirety. He'd ignore almost all of them, safe for Zephyr. To that man, he'd only shake his head with genuine disappointment. "They'd turn in their grave if they saw you like this." Takamura would say with a soft whisper. But those words would cut deeper than the sharpest sword on the earth. Digging at Zephyr's most painful wound.

Takamura would not give Orphan another ounce of his time and energy. Once he was a solid few meters away from them, he'd whisper a command to the remaining force of Impel Down to let them pass. In time, he'd notify the navy up top as well, but for now he had more important matters to attend to. Takamura would stand in front of the small bits that remained of the once proud Warden. If not for the few pieces of leather that hadn't been turned to ash yet the old man wouldn't have known his student had been defeated.

"Oh never yielding, Magellan. Please forgive this moment of humanity of mine. I could not bear to lose another person in this slaughter. Retirement has made me soft. Just like you predicted it would."

Impel Down's fire of judgement had finally been snuffed out. With passage out of the building, victory and escape was now finally in the grasp of Orphan.

Only a few more moments awaited.

Evil Arrives in Impel Down! #39
@QuickZilver708

Level 3 Elevator ——-———> Surface
Sacrifices were left on the cold Impel Down floor. The Grim was evil incarnate, using others as playthings, pawns - to be severed when no longer serving purpose. Medusa, one of her own, a woman with ties as deep as they came to La Spada, was left ugly forevermore. It was not just the bond she severed, but the soul would forever be wanting, unable to know beauty, unable to know peace. Satango and Crea were much the same. Tales of woe.

Takamura was able to take a breath, finding the malice of the Grim one worthy. The elevator opened, allowing passage. La Spada brought her cigar to her mouth, taking a deep and long inhale, before exhaling. The smoke came as a skull, perhaps a metaphor. It was Orphan’s signal to move. Leading the pack was the Grim, passing by Takamura, eyes front.

A tense moment. The air thick with tension. The camera slowed, before the two passed each other.

[Prometheus] “U-u-unbelievable… Freedom is...“
Prometheus stood like many, in disbelief. Even Level 6 prisoners had some semblance of doubt. They went against the World, after all. They had won. The cost was great. Evil had been set loose, concentrated on the one who led Orphan. Even Prometheus, in his madness, would feel hesitant - this evil was more… it was ancient… almost otherworldly… almost Unsundered.

Orphan boarded the elevator. There was silence. Silence as the doors slammed shut. When they would open, they would be in the surface. Takamura’s order had been issued. Zalera was waiting for them at the entrance, docking the ship in front. The Scion was amazed. Amazed how the guard stepped down. A necessary sacrifice. For Impel Down to survive, it’s pride had to die.

Evil Arrived in Impel Down.

Top Bottom
