SEX & GENDER PIRATES ALLIANCE, ASSEMBLE!!!!

Welcome to the LGBTQ+ & Allies Group!
Here I hope we can create a safe space for members of our community to share/express/discuss pride as members of the LGBTQ+ community <33333 xoxoxo
For the sake of efficiency, from here forward I will use the term 'queer' as an umbrella term for all forms of non-normative gender identities and sexual orientations which would otherwise fall under LGBTQ+--this is simply my own personal preference and by no means should be taken as my applying a term to you that you may not identify with <3
What we do here
  • Respect ALL sexual orientations, gender expressions and identities
  • Use peoples' preferred pronouns
  • Express your queerness and have fun!
  • Share our experiences of being queer within our community here
  • Bring visibility to a whole other aspect of who you are inside and outside of the Thriller Bark community
  • Come together for mutual support in navigating the difficulties (and the subsequent joys!) of living as a queer person
  • Post your favorite Queer musician/filmmakers/mangaka/artist/etcetcetc what gay cultural propaganda are you consuming RIGHT NOW?
Rules (in addition to TB guidelines):
  • It doesn't matter how gay you are, don't use any derogatory words even in a gay way (gay is ok tho)
  • Expanding on that point, even if only within the walls of this thread, 'Trap' is a slur... so don't use it
  • Respect one another
  • Allies, I am hesitant to say 'don't post random questions here', but.... if you can google it, then do that. When in doubt, remember: it's not your right to know, but it is their right to be <3
  • If there are any rules or terms of conduct that aren't currently listed here, and you think they should be, then pretty please super duper suggest it!
  • Take special care that all content you share follows TB guidelines and is appropriate!!!! Share your gay stuff, but don't share ALL your gay stuff
Introduce yourself!

Also, I am perfectly straight but I am here to fully support Yall...

I will also allow myself to fund SD whenever you came across such an event for the club..

By the way, I have 8 gay cousins and I love just how lovely they are.

Based on all our interactions here.... I don't trust you not to track me down, kill me, and turn me into a series of chic lampshades (tho i think i'd make some killer lampshades)

If I was single then I would track you. But my wife is a CCTV. So not possible. And I can't cross NY just to see ya. LOL

I came out as trans on OJ! And cuz I still like girls and fems and enbiesโ€”I guess that means Iโ€™m gay now too.
that was last February and Iโ€™ve been on hormones for a year now. Concrete Gender identity and expression forever feel like amorphous and illusive targets lurking just out of reach. Some days I feel like a woman and others I feel nowhere at all. I canโ€™t tell if Iโ€™m just unable to see myself as any other woman because of internalized transphobia and concerns around passing or if I just wish I could say Iโ€™m a woman because even being a trans woman out in the world feels easier to navigate for me right now than as an enby. Itโ€™s frustrating how hard it is to just exist as a visibly non-binary weirdo in public space....

But yeah, in short, the Role Play section made me gay. Thatโ€™s a rock fact.

Hey all of you lovely beings!!!!:catdrag:Sign me up obviously! Proud bi girl here, stuck in a long-term straight open :pepesmug: relationship though
but I'm so much thankful for it cuz I'd probably be all over the place due to my condition if not for him (if you catch my drift, if you don't, feel free to pm me, I'm encouraged to talk about it as much as I can by my therapist XD :catflip:). I'm lucky enough to say that I've experienced the best of both worlds since I was also in a long-term lesbian relationship, I had a few short-lived straight relationships but I was basically a gold star until I met Wai. ๐Ÿฅฐ

In less than a month I will go to my 8th pride if it doesn't get postponed.
Oh and duhh, ScarJo is my celeb obsession and getting in her pants is on my bucket list. :bloodtear:

One thing I'm finding it hard during this quarantine is the help we LGBTQ+ people receive. We struggle a lot in normal days, now with quarantine the amount of anxiety we develop is insane. I wish there were more programs and people helping us over here.

My dysphoria has been really bad lately because of this. Iโ€™m quarantined with my parents and they are well intentioned but very bad at making me feel like they see me as I want to be seen. Since quarantine started its been difficult to get medications on time, get in regular contact with my doctors, or find a therapist. Itโ€™s impossible to go to queer spaces to meet others and be seen, or to continue facial hair removal or other treatments.
Queer quarantine fatigue is really hitting me hard right now, and in ways I wasnโ€™t necessarily expecting it to :blobcry:
I canโ€™t even imagine what others are having to deal with. Especially younger folx sheltered in place with non-supportive family or in areas with less access to care

Have you tried therapy sessions through Skype? I struggle with it too, and it might not be the same as in-person sometimes, but it's really lovely to have that support once a week even if it's through a screen.

As for the other issues though you're definitely affected hard, it's like you got momentum going but it has to halt for some reason and it can be frustrating... good thing you have well-intentioned parents at least, even if parental support for queer people being lackluster is usually the norm. Unless you're living anywhere in the top affected countries covid-wise, is there a possibility curfew will be lifted soon? It's only a matter of time before things open up again, so remain hopeful!

My biggest struggle wasn't the fact that I couldn't speak to my therapist in person, we had plenty of Zoom sessions, it wasn't even related much with the fact that I'm a raging bi, it was more due to this complete social distancing aspect that disabled me to vent out in my own way and when staying mostly at home for almost 2 months merged with my mental condition there were days when depression completely took over me ๐Ÿ˜ญ I love W but ๐Ÿ˜ฝ is a ๐Ÿ˜ฝ๐Ÿคช sorry if I'm being a bit too plain-spoken here but that's how it was for me. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Luckily the social distacing measures are gone for a while now.
