The mountainous lion head roared and descended upon Gambit. 80% of Merveille's soil was used to create this attack, giving it tons upon tons of weight. It was a sure kill in most scenarios, but Gambit's dominance would show in the face of this attack. Gripping his scythe ever so tightly and powerfully, Gambit imbued it with great black Busou-shoku no Haki and then swung the scythe. Monstrous flying slashes, a number of them, were unleashed, ripping into the mountainous lion and disintegrated it. Shiki's grand attack vanished in front of his own eyes. His eyes widened in shock and disbelief, and the shock factor prevented him from reacting to what came next. Gambit and his fiery tornado descended upon Shiki, engulfing him and decimating the area around him. When the attack cleared, Shiki was seen with grave injuries and burn marks. He was still standing, looking up at the sky. His hands reached up for the sky as his life flashed before his eyes. Uttering his last words, Shiki spoke.

The coming era... will be even greater than my own, it seems.

Shiki said. An old lion, a legend, coming to the ultimate realization. As great as he was, as great as he had been, the world would move on, and even more impressive people would take over. Those people would eventually perish, and an even greater generation would take over. Such was humanity. Shiki's body suddenly fell forward, and the legendary pirate fell to the ground, hitting the ground dead.

With the conclusion of Shiki's life, only his most trusted subordinate was left. Wielding the giant will-o-wisp, black Busou-shoku no Haki started to flow into the will-o-wisp, turning parts of it black. Indigo charged forward, heading straight for Manaka. When the laser beam descended upon him, he jumped, avoiding the beam and jumping up toward Manaka. Then, throwing his hands forward, Indigo hurled the black will-o-wisp at Manaka, aiming to defeat her with one attack. It was a make it or break it attack - for Indigo was now airborne, and any follow-up attack was sure to hit him. Would Shiki's subordinate prevail and notch one small victory in this great loss?

The Awakening
Gambit successfully destroyed the gigantic rock above him and whilst still possessed by all the sufferings he had back in his birthplace, he descended to Shiki and rupture his body with the elements of wind and fire, burning and gravely injuring the old lion. T-Bag smiled from a distance, knowing that his buddy has won a magnificent and that it has returned the Assassin he always knew. "Pretty..."

But the prince was still covered with wrath and anguish! He soared to the sky and exhausted all his remaining exploding poker cards to the already fallen Shiki. Deafening sounds would be heard across the battlefield. The lion was covered with dust and smokes. The prince did not stop. The scythe he was holding tightly, thrown at Shiki's grounded body, the accuracy of the throw would certainly impale to the head of his enemy. The pirate prince roared so loud. A scream that entailed not only agony and defeat but a forlorn concealed within his heart for almost 2 decades. And from that scream, he evolved to a new form. A beast that was twice as large as Gambit's height. Still screaming his inner despair, an almost invisible but concentrated cannonball of an unknown element was formed before unleashing it to the same enemy. Excruciating and wailing.

Gambit continued to wail and dove to his opponent in such a way that his claws were facing the ground as if he was about to deliver multiple stomps to the man he just fought. Brutal and ruthless. T-Bag couldn't fathom what to feel, but one thing was certain, this was not Gambit. Or perhaps, he just awakened the Devil Fruit but lost control of it. And as Gambit kept on stomping his claws, T-Bag drew his Anchor Chain and ordered Reynolds to shoot as many sea prism arrows possible and neutralize their commander. Without further ado, Reynolds obeyed. T-Bag, confident that Gambit's attention was drawn by Reynolds, rushed for a stealth attack, aiming to wrap the possessed demon in front of them.

Having stopped using his observation and echolocation, Gambit would have a hard time detecting the two, Reynolds shot 10 arrows faster than bullets. Gambit saw this coming and addressed them but this was the time T-Bag tried to link his chain to his friend, grabbing Gambit's ankle, pulling him inward, and landing a mind-awakening punch onto the face of the huge creature. And because the anchor chain was made in sea prism stone, too, a devil fruit user would submit to its vulnerability.

Cuddle uh Love: T-Bag throws the spiked ball end of the chain to tie around his opponent's wrist, ankle, or weapon, restricting their movements the more he creates tension. And whilst inflicting devastating damage to the target is not its primary purpose, the spikes once entangled to the target shall also incur decent damage. It is often used as a preparation for a combination attack.

Remnants of the Past
Growing up as a prince in Hiraya, Landayan worked hard as he knew that someday, he would claim the throne and continue the legacy of his father. But when he reached 19, his worth would be tested. He was sent back to the forest where he had a tragic past. Beasts he once endeared were still resting there. The mission order, annihilate them.

The weapons he carried were forged personally by him. They were the most beautiful metal cards ever crafted. And the dagger he was holding was as sharp as his intellect. He wanted power. He was greedy of it. He was poisoned by the General to do be like this. Having lost the ability to reason to the animals, he wouldn't value their worth and who they were to him when he was young. There never was a battle; it was just carnage. The beasts gave up their lives for the poor prince. Delivering the head of the current leader of the beasts, he succeeded in the first mission.

2 days later, he would need to go alone to the tribe of Tieflings where he would face two leaders of the tribes. All these years, the Tieflings in their kingdoms had been sworn enemies because of the doings of their ancestors. One thing was certain, they were played. If the two tribes joined forces, the elves or even the blacksmiths would have no access to the throne. Sometime between the fights against the two Tiefling leaders, the prince learned something inside him.

"So you finally felt it, too, young prince?", Hagorn (one of the Tiefling leaders) asked him. "Hahahahaha!"

"Your birthright was to die! The royals did a mistake keeping you alive."
, Asval said.

"What are you saying? I am a prince! Lord of all Blacksmiths and Elves!", Landayan reasoned.

"Fool! No elves nor a single black fucking smith is capable of wielding a metal card like that. Much more imbuing it with fire!", Hagorn responded. Mocking the two other tribes.

"We will spare your life. Go back to your kingdom. There you'd learn the truth!", Asval followed up.

After the encounter, the prince would return to the kingdom, lost the battle. The general would face him, "My Lord! What happened?"

"Not now General Magiting... I need to talk to my parents."

"Inside the hall where the banquet is anchored, the prince would meet the King. Father, what am I? Who am I?",
he asked the King as he fashioned flames around his palms. "When I was facing the Tieflings, I suddenly discovered how to use this. Who am I?

King: "You're my son. I loved you."
Landayan: "Why did you keep me?"
King: "I was hoping to unite the kingdoms with you as their leader."
Landayan: "Was I your tool?"
King: "No Landayan..."
Landayan: "Who are my real parents?"
King: "My cousin, Kalakab. He was the head of the knights before you were born. He plotted to overthrow the royal family along with the 2 Tiefling tribes. But we found it out before they could even start their attack. He was sentenced to death."
Landayan: "And my mother?"
King: "A Tiefling, Pirena. Died during your birth. Whilst she's a born Tiefling, one who couldn't use or manipulate fire is simply called an Elf. My son, you are the deliverer for you possess the blood of two families who were separated by hatred and power."

General Magiting, one of the two other people who knew the secret had been plotting a rebellion against the kingdom. A plan that he had organized for years. He was waiting for this moment, unbeknownst to the two, the nation was watching the scene. The rule of Hiraya's monarchy was to beget an offspring to rule it next. Otherwise, the throne would be fought over a deathmatch. He who shall not succeed would be banished. Magiting certainly wanted the throne but since it shall be fought through death, he would make it even harder for Landayan to win. Kalasag, his best friend and the older brother of Manaka would be tasked to join the battle. Whoever wins would face every challenger until nobody else takes the challenge. But there were only two who took the chance, Magiting and Kalasag would challenge the prince. And lastly, the prince would be held a prisoner for the time being because of his legitimacy.

The next day, the battle occurred. Landayan against his best friend. The two battled for hours, wielding weapons after weapons, acrobatic movements after acrobatic movements until Landayan had to resort to his newfound power, flames. The elven Kalasag couldn't defend himself very well against it but he was still resilient. And finally, he was cornered by the then prince, but he stopped. He wouldn't kill another. And that wasn't the rule, it was a deathmatch. "My friend, Landayan. Huff. Huff. We grew up together." At this point, he was already holding on to the prince's dagger. "Manaka... Please... Look after her... For me..." Before pulling Landayan's dagger into his body, concluding his own life.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!", Landayan wailed.

Dropping his guard down, the general went for the kill. "A true king shall never submit to his emotion! To lead a nation, one shall show no sign of pity or agony."

When the general was about to ram the young prince with his sword, an army of Tieflings came out of nowhere casting flames after flames towards the general. Hundreds and hundreds of them would emerge to the center stage in an abrupt manner cornering the general until he was almost molten by them. After that drama, the present King would come down from his throne but the nation contested it. They thought that the land of Morrow had been rich and peaceful under his regime. The king repented all his sins in the past and asked for forgiveness for pushing the Tieflings to the forest. With their forgiveness, a truce has been declared. And now, it's time to crown Landayan as the rightful heir to the throne after a consensus to finally remove the decree that the successor has to be his own offspring. As long as the child was fostered by the royal family, he would be eligible for the crown.

"I am not yet prepared for this commission. Father, I forgive you. And you still are my father no matter what. I want to explore the world and learn whatever purpose I was gifted in this world."

Since then, Gambit has never stepped back to that land and but still bears the title of a prince. But whenever he mentioned that he's a prince, he was always referring to Poker Island where everybody adored him. And whether he's finally found his purpose, it's still a juggling puzzling he is yet to unravel.

IRON WOMAN
Indigo managed to dodge the directed energy launched towards him. Appearing above Manaka, his master would continue to unleash his weaponized chemicals. He was determined to end his apprentice's life in just one go. But Manaka would not want to die just yet, from that position, her two extra arms manifested and pointed upward where Indigo was. And though she was already out of the directed-energy weapon, she still had 4 missiles left. If this misses, then Manaka has no other stronger weapons left to deal with her master. This was the last resort!

"IRON WOMAN!!!", 4 missiles were launched from her extra arms that transformed into 2 missile launchers. With this distance, it would pretty impossible for the other Doctor to evade the attack.

3x=12. missile launcher + 4 missiles (DPR: A) - costs 4 modification points

With Shiki defeated, what followed next was ruthless and one could even go as far as to claim it tasteless. However, it was not Gambit's fault. He had lost control, and awakened. What came next was a rain of attacks, bringing Shiki closer and closer to death. He would never fall down, almost as if his body was frozen in a standing position with his will. But, Shiki died. Gambit's men came too late to save Shiki, but that was not their intent anyway.

With the help of Kairouseki, they managed to, so to speak, chain Gambit down, bringing him back to his old self. In the meantime, Manaka, tanking Indigo's attack with her Cyborg plating, fired a number of missiles at the airborne Indigo, blowing him out of the air as well. And with that bang, Shiki's life ended, Indigo, still alive, was defeated, and so ended the story of Merveille, and the birth of the - up until now still selfproclaimed - Prince of Pirates came.

The sun on Merveille started to set. Now came the real problem. With Shiki dead, a nearby fruit started to form swirling patterns and started to transform into the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi. But, now there was no one holding Merveille up in the air. And with that, the island started to fall. Due to its sheer size, the wind pressure against it was strong, so it didn't fall ridiculously quickly, but with time, it would pick up speed, and eventually come crashing down into the sea. Would Merveille take Gambit and his crew down with him? Or would something - or someone - save them?

Either way, Merveille fell, and the day was coming to an end. Undoubtedly, next morning's newspapers would have a lot to tell. The death of Shiki. The fall of Merveille into the sea. Morgans would have a great day.

The Fall of the Lion. The Rise of the Vampirate Prince
Landayan Morrow or Gambit to most people who knew him after he ventured out of Hiraya Kingdom has finally won the paramount battle against the legendary pirate Shiki, the Golden Lion. And with Shiki gone, his devil fruit ability started to disengage. Albeit dramatically and gradually, it will be disastrous for all of them to join the fall from thousands of feet above sea level.

"Pretty wake up!", T-Bag was yelling, slapping his buddy several times. "Prettyyyyyyy!!! Son of a b-"

"Raaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Huff. Huff. Huff!!!"
, Gambit woke up, glaring immediately at T-Bag.

"I won. Huff. Huff. Huff.", he turned around and found Shiki's body lying on the ground. He would stare at the fallen nemesis for few seconds before rising to his full length. Ripping off his tuxedo, he would cover Shiki's face as a sign of respect. "Thank you, old man. Because of you, I took a huge leap and discovered a new height of power. We may be different but we share a common dream, to conquer the seas. That legacy shall live on."

"Pretty. Let's go. The islands are starting to fall."
, T-Bag said, putting his right palm to Gambit's shoulder. The latter would turn to him and nod.

As they ran, Gambit remembered KG and the rest of the squad. "Wait! The others?"

"It's been taken care of. The ship will meet us in that direction. I built a super-sized sail in the Dark Fortress to lift him up for a period of time, and didn't I tell you about 'Coup de Burst?'"
, T-Bag bragged about his invention.

"That's good to hear. You learned a lot of things Tee. You are now a certified Shipwright.", praising his buddy. T-Bag smiled.

After a brief running to the eastern portion of the falling main island, here comes the Dark Fortress, leveraging on the slopes to gain momentum before launching the coup de burst to get them off the island. "Captaaaaaaain!!!", B1 and B2 shouting for joy that their companions made it out alive. And finally, once the team boarded the ship, it will kick off, sending them mid-air before spreading the huge black sail to serve as a parachute. "Brace yourselves yall! Coup de burst!", said T-Bag. "P-ppretty?" Turning around, "Where the fuc-"

Lady Manaka, "The Iron Fortress"
The princess of Elves managed to take down his master by sending pairs of missiles as he was airborne, blasting him off into the air. However, as soon as he dealt that decisive blows against Indigo, the castle began to crumble and shatters everything around them. Manaka wasn't exhausted just yet and her cyborg weapons were still functioning. Firing a series of shoulder-fired missiles and dozens of ammunition coming off her artillery guns, she was able to clear the way for her and Billy to escape but with this level of destruction, it was hard until a huge block of concrete appeared on top of them. And as the falling debris cast its shadows upon them, everything darkened.

Remnants of the Past: Finale
With Landayan reclaiming the throne for the Morrow family and learning the mystery behind his identity, somewhat, he was able to find himself on a clearer path. The horizon was too vast not to be explored and he believed that when you wanted to achieve something, all the universe will conspire to help you achieve it. Bidding farewell to his known family, he was promised a home whenever he decided to come back. And with newfound allies on the Tieflings' side, he was confident that even in the absence of the general, everything will be alright. "Uncle Asval and Uncle Hagorn. Please protect the kingdom."

The crowds would cheer as he walked down the isle of Hiraya. The horns and the trumpets were played in a harmonious way, only fitting to the lone prince of Hiraya. Landayan was looking for someone. His dearest little princess. A young maiden who just lost an older brother, an uncle, and the trust towards her most precious prince. He wasn't able to find her. Manaka, forgive me. He said as he looked back on the garden situated just below his room in the castle where the young maiden would always scream his name whenever she wanted to play and go the cliff.

Once a prince, always a prince. Charming the ladies of the court with his wink and melodic walk. Maiden's were dying for him. Finally, setting his foot ashore, he would board his ship about 15 meters long and 4 meters wide, escorted by 20 Tieflings who knew how to sail. But suddenly, a wind blew past him from the west, and he looked in that direction, the 10-year old Manaka was wearing her favorite dress. A dress that she always wore whenever she's with the prince. Her young heart wanted to scream for her best friend but her mind was polluted with horror and sorrow. She ran away even before the prince took the chance of moving his feet. "Manaka...", a soulful tone he uttered.

"MANAKA!!! MANAKA!!! MANAKA!!!", Gambit was screaming her precious maiden's name. "Wake up!" He touched her face, blood dripping from her temple. "I'm here now..."

"Landayan?"
, Manaka's vision was blurry. All she could recognize was the prince's voice. "You came back for me?" She wept softly. "Y-You" Sniffed hardly before bursting out in pain and tears. All those years of solitude and forlorn came falling down her cheeks, almost washing out the red blood covering it earlier.

"Yes, I came back. And I won't leave you again.", Landayan said, tightly embracing her before carrying her and Billy away from the rubbles.

"So!!! We're not RP that we also acquire the fruit when I magically picked up a random fruit from the battlefield right after Shiki died?"

Of course, Reynolds knew a lot of things. And nobody forgets that. Even, so, the moment he spoke, everybody turned to him and were puzzled about his choice of words.

"And KG suddenly became a 70-foot giant. He was just an 8-foot shit few hours ago. What is wrong with this timeline? xD"
