If his parents also treated him like that then you know even Romeo and Juliet doesn't make sense as both were ready to anything for each other so treating there son like that will be out of character for Romeo and Juliet type of parents lol

Not really, it could actually be a perfect explanation and offer a possible redemption down the line. Say his mother is a CD and his father is a tailed D. but his mother at the time was married with another CD who finds out about them and forces her to make a tough choice, remain with him or be branded a traitor. Maybe even point out what happened to the Donquixote family after they left lol

Then not long later little tailed Jimmy is born which reminds the husband of his wife's affair so he treats him like trash and threatens that if she tries to stop it then he'll simply kill or sell him so she does nothing about it lol

If you want D. then go with this, it's actually good. Though you need to explain what happened to Jimmy actual father
