What story am I supposed to go with then? I haven’t really interacted with any pirates/marines. I’m a bounty hunter and pirates will kill me and the one time I interacted with a marine he took a devil fruit and my bounty from me.

Don't you have any backstory . Why did you became bounty hunter and so on . You may also have objectives . Ponder upon them from time to time . Maybe your present mission hinders or helps you in your objective . And there are lots of other ways too .

Discuss stuff with your hosts and come up with random ideas, not every story has to be about interacting with other players. For example, my character wants to claim Kano as his territory but he also wanted to allow a new crew member to see firecrackers for the first time. Another way is going into your backstory a bit, so far I know nothing about Ice other than him being a bounty hunter and that he likes to rap lol
