I refuse to read the comment sections on youtube, I'm certain in drops you IQ when you do. Well comment on anything really.
C'mon. All the good in the comments section aside, there are many constructive critics out there, and even mean comments are often hilarious and fun to scan, from a viewer's point of view. People who merely act out of spite or hate, are nothing more than toxic pests on the web, i simply ignore 'em because they ain't worth anyone's time.

I actually am not a fan of Youtubers who disable the comments section, delete offensive remarks or respond aggressively to it. It simply shows how insecure they are, and is an incentive for the haters to drill over that to express their hate even more or elsewhere on the web where not nothing is controllable.

It's just my preference of what I do, no one else has to follow it. I just prefer not to read them.

Well what I saw was just people being disrespectful to other just for stating their
opinions

Like it's so rare to find constructive comments most of them are just repeating the same shallow comments and ofc the good shit don't get upvoted

This is my general experience also, that is why I never bother with them.

The only time I actually venture into a comment section is when I am reading a news story and I find something odd about the story that doesn't make sense and I will read below if other got the same vibe.

Like today I read a story about this girl who died on vacation and nothing added up in that story at all, most of the commentators agreed with what I was thinking.

You know what I hate about YouTube, the ad's that keep playing while you watching something especially when you watching something interesting.
They changed a lot recently (this year) on Youtube with the ads. Before and after a video, sometimes two ads in a row, and they turned off the yellow ad marks in the timeline. You think you can listen to a 1h music compilation? No ad marks? Well congrats, after every song you will still get an ad. I hate it so much. And the worst is still those ads that keep popping up around 10-15 seconds after the video started and you have to close them. It's no fun... And then they come with "oh get Youtube Premium", oh a big F&%# YOU to you, Youtube

Forgot to mention the "Skip the Ad in X Seconds" button appears not right at the beginning but also 2 seconds into the ad or later or so. :) disgusting

YouTube was all good when it's main focus was streaming videos and focused on that. It's understandable the needs for ads to maintain and pay people for their content, but still, either the ad pay more to the content creator and reduce the amount, or don't just leave the option to skip all the time.

I myself find it horrible the premium pop up that appears every now and so often when I'm browsing YouTube. I don't wanna be a premium. YouTube did the worst move possible trying to compete with Spotify.

Of course. Ads in general aren't the problem. But the amount got higher over the past year which is annoying. But advertisement went up over the past decades immensively. I remember when I was young, there was no ads anywhere. Nowadays you just want to read some news article and see a couple ones and it makes the side load ages. Or on Soundcloud a year ago I rarely ever had ads. Now I sometimes have the ad after every song. And it isn't even some random ad anymore. It's just a soundcloud ad for their premium.

Yeah those longer ones you can't skip. Really annoying. There's currently some LEGO ad on Youtube and this freaking girl's voice is pissing me so off. I am glad I can skip that but 5 second is already too much.

Yeah, I can see what you mean here. It's their marketing to sell their product. They will keep bugging you until you buy their premium and have free use like it was originally. Like I said, just like Spotify.

I honestly don't like how some of the approaches are done since it ruins the user experience and the end road of every business like that is the user experience. If the majority of the users are discontent with how they are dealing with something, they have to fastly modify to satisfy their public.

I hope YouTube realizes this fast enough and stop this nonsense, because the day another company rises that can hold videos like YouTube and doesn't have ads and pop-ups, YouTube will break immensely.

I tested both Spotify and Soundcloud and thought the latter would be the better option since it contains less ads and you don't have the shuffle shit. But now I often listen to songs on Youtube on repeat because that avoids advertisement. :feelsbadman: It's not the ultimate solution either though.

Indeed, I hope as well that most sites realize that too much advertisement can ruin the user experience. The same goes for the newest idea to ask for push up notifications on sites. Also the thing with Adblock is superfun nowadays. I eventually turned it off completely because every site said "please turn off adblock and show ads because we need the money" and otherwise you couldn't see the content. Why is this world so influenced by ads nowadays, it's awful.

Currently there is no platform similar to Youtube that kept standing. There were some in the past but I believe they didn't hold it. Youtube has lots of positive sides but they are slowly destroying themselves.

I believe some content creators themselves add in the ads because that is how they also make money on their videos some use more than others.
That is also true. If they have enough views then it's definitely worth it to turn on ads and make some extra cash. I can understand that, but Youtube's money making through extensive use of ads is just disgusting
