Oden’s flashback for me was my favourite part of Wano so far. I know a lot of people thought it dragged as it was the longest flashback. I loved it. I love Oden. But if Oden is alive, the flashback would be ruined for me. Oden had (noble) character flaws (I.e. taking on his burdens without explaining) but he was still a great character - that’s what made his death so great.
Please, I hope he stays dead. If he is alive, I will be disappointed. Either way, Oda is knowingly putting the fanbase in a theory frenzy so it’ll be interesting to see where this goes.

Bad news, my theory disappeared again, I saved the draft to continue later but it disappeared and Frankly spiking I don't have the mood nore time to write it again, so instead of that I'm going to just show the evidence that Yamato is not Oden.

Yeah happened to me a few times too when planing on writing bigger ones thats why I started to make .txt back ups

Yamato existed back 20 years ago, Yamato read Oden's note book and found out about the chosen one and the strowhat, after seeing a guy with strowhat from Oden's note book he realized that Luffy is chosen one and wanted to meet him. Unfortunately the theory that I was making is gone, the theory could have explained things much better than this smole description but what I can do .

We have to think about the reason why Yamato has been waiting for Luffy for such a long time and why he isn’t hostile towards him. He might has heard some stuff whilst Kaido was talking about Luffy. But for how long has Luffy been on Kaido‘s radar? I know it seems to be a long time but Punk Hazard took place about 2 months ago In OP time. Is that a „long time“? I doubt it.
Of course Luffy has made headlines with the stuff on Enies Lobby and especially MF. But is that something super special? Something that is worth waiting for? Not really.
So I Would say that Yamato must have met Ace when he was in Wano. Ace must have told him stories about Luffy. Luffy could also have been a matter to discuss when Shanks stopped Kaido from entering the war but i think this is too far fetched.
Another possibility would be all that destiny stuff and the Oden - Roger - WB connection where they could have mentioned something about a child of the future. Of course this would only make sense if Yamato is Oden.

2nd there might be another person that originates from Wano. That person being Sentomaru. I mean he also wears a Tsuna which is quite similar to the one Oden and Yamato wear. I know that his Tsuna is red and white whilst Oden‚s is supposed to be purple and white but I somehow have a strong felling that he has ties to the country as well. I mean that Vegapunk stuff would make even more sense then.

Could it be Yamato is the one who met Crocus? The Hair & Height now totally Matches
It's possible He was there at the Execution, got Inspired by Oden but at first only had Respect for the Man
After he found his Notebook, he left Wano to look for more Answers and that's why searched for Roger Pirates but only Found Crocus, maybe he met Rayleigh & Shanks too and he had his Adventure. When he returned, Kaido ordered to never let him sail again and that's why he told King to imprison him explaining the Handcuffs & also why King specifically summoned Flying Six regarding Yamato, because He was his responsibility and he Escaped. Yamato from his Journey got inspired from Oden's Story & knew Luffy is the one Roger Pirates are waiting for

Just to add, I love Sanji so much. But I’m tired of the gags. In such a serious setting, and in full knowledge Big Mom is in close proximity why would you leave??

On the other hand, I have faith that this is Oda setting up a Sanji solo mission, which is what his speciality was pre TS (alabasta, skypeia, enies lobby). I think Sanji is on his way for a long due W.

Not just Sanji, i think Oda is clearly preparing for a certain Scenario
All Straw Hats are Busy + Kid and from Kaido's Side, BM & her Crew, Flying Six are all Delayed
But the Samurai are advancing Smoothly

I think those Samurai will fight Kaido first while the Main Characters are Absent & Kaido is Alone
Once he overwhelms them, Straw Hats will show up as the Saviors & join the Battle & then all Kaido's Side will join him too

No, not even close, in my theory Yamato never left Wano and is forcefully held in Anigashima, the World doesn't even know about his existence, all this would have much more sense in the theory itself but again it's gone.

I'v seen important character who are thought dead, come back alive in other fiction stories. so it's not bad writing if done well.

But people calling oda trash writer, when he done it before with sabo. So no it's not impossible.


The fact Oden got such a detailed flashback,let's me think we are not done with his story yet. There still cd,end game.. as sh need to get stronger people recruited.

Oden kept his promise, in standing in the boiling water to save his friends. Orochi did not fulfill his promise. (so no that death was bs! killed by stupid greedy lil fool!!! (like spandaman killing robin, as other sh example etc)

Even Kaido apologized to Oden!! Kaido don't apologize to no one! Showing he respected oden. And brain damage/memory loss if indeed what happen, after Oda showed us Kaido sympathized with Oden. Giving him a second chance at life as his son. Showing Kaido not all heartless and went behind orochi back, showing he honer Oden. This would also explain why he calls yamato stupid. Because he still the same heroic idiot Kaido known and respected. (as chains are still on oden)

Sabo's Death Panel wasn't shown + Ivankov was shown reacting to Dragon carrying someone in that same Chapter (Tease) + He was randomly attacked by a Celestial Dragon, he didn't die for a Reason like Oden, Roger, Noland ... etc + Everyone knew he will return because why would Oda add him in first place to that Flashback if he is not gonna return, Luffy & Ace alone could have been enough + He died very young and didn't accomplish anything so it makes sense for him to Return + His Death Scene didn't have a Major Impact like Oden & Roger & WB ... etc it only caused Sadness

I was one of the greatest supporter of "BM will fall in WCI". And in the end I like the outcoming of WCI then most these who we're against BM calling in WCI

Maybe because I was right about many predictionsade regarding the end like final showdown on Choclate Island with Sin Pirates, Germa and Pekoms supporting Strawhats


I never Said Yamato have to be Oden. But for me there are a few things much easier to solve if it is Oden.

Why does he wear clothes like Oden?
-> Kaidou and Orochi prepared Yamato aka Oden to boil him a 2nd time as 20 anniversary special.

Why did he wait for Luffy so long?
-> Cause it is about the prophecy Oden learned 20 years ago. Memories slowly returns.


It would be a reasonable Amnesia plot and with Yamato always having to wear a mask and being trapped an Onigashima -> it makes sense anyone not involved is nit aware of it.
(Wouldn't be hole like WB commander never heard of Dragons right hand man)



Yamato not being Oden would lead to more holes that need be filled.

• Why does Kaidous son wears the same clothes as Oden during the excution (even the numbers of chains are identical). Worshopping Kaidou so much?
• Why does Yamato wear a mask?
• Why does Yamato waiting for a brat who just got one shotted by his dad?
• Why does his behaviour changed (Beast Pirates suprise that they have to catch him)
• What is Kaidous big announcement about Yamato.

Creating a character giving reasonable explanations for these points will be hard, but will it be like it Oda will deliver for sure.

Also Yamato is the Same height as Oden! (mostly Oda height perspective, but imo this is closest match)

Plus yamato been waiting like Oden for luffy...

As can see Oden request it again, and Kaido agrees.

can see Kaido resolve, and he knows he has to keep his promise or loose everyone respect.

Also he should been aware of Oden friends making it to the palace. As why he tossed momo, because he respected Oden. and he flew off (giving momo a chance to be found)

As can see Oda, pointed out Kaido is sorry about what happen. So imo with kaido shown wanting oden on his side before the execution, and given a chance to get oden with memory loss, plus Kaido is still honering Oden promise for making it out alive in the boiling pot.

so if oden survived the pot,even head shot. Kaido went easy on oden friends, as shown after.

It's not bs plot, because kaido shown to respect oden from before, and shown to honor oden request!

I’d be disappointed with Oden being alive for many reasons (personally, it’s fine if you disagree ) but I think one of my biggest problems is how OP the alliance would be.

A lot of the scabbards are formidable (Inu and Neko could fight Jack (YC3), Denjiro and AD are stronger), Jinbe has returned, Marco (one of the strongest probably) and Izo have returned. Law and Kid.

And now we know Yamato is insanely strong. But if Yamato = Oden, it’s ridiculous, because we know Oden was almost as strong as (debatably stronger than) Kaido.

If Yamato is Oden we won’t need a massive brawl vs Kaido or a prolonged Luffy fight vs Kaido (whichever way it might go), just let ‘Oden’ sort it out.

Thats an important point. And if you compare Yamato and Oden, you would see Yamato is like a skinny version of Oden.
Oden would be much weaker compared to his past self but still not a joke (comparable with Hyogoro). And we already saw that Yamato isn't a joke after we saw Yamato easily destroying Ulti in or full Zoan form.

Doesn't matter if he is Oden not he is already a great boost by he himself portrayed to be above the Flying 6. As I mentioned I expect Yamato to fight Orochi who tried hard the past 20 years. Even start to boil himself to boost his endurance.

I am so torn on that one.
On the one hand I think that Yamato might even save him, just to give him more interactions and dynamics and storyline into that direction (Kaido/Oden/Momo)
On the other hand I see Kaido getting a character break and doing it himself, he will save Momo, maybe Momo remembers him when he was a child himself, maybe he does it to honor Oden or redeem himself against Yamato.

Tho the other plausible scenario is that the alliance wit Luffy will save him, probably Zoro/Sanji too optionally.

In one way or another, during this arc, it will be exposed that Momo can hear the voice of all things and that will be his save-for-now ticket because Kaido would need someone like him.
