This week, a simple question:
"What's your characters' most treasured/sentimental possession?"
Forgot to reply to this last time, lol.
Bill obviously loves his taxidermied spearfish to the point it is turning into a cursed weapon, but beyond that he has a very expensive bottle of Whiskey that reminds him of an ex wife.
Johnny carries a small picture of his Ma. Well, technically it's a mugshot. Bill is afraid of making her mad.
Yasashí carries a set of prayer beads that belonged to a fellow monk that was killed by pirates.
This week, a totally original question:
"What will your character be like in 20 and 40 years? How would they change between good and bad timelines?"
Bill is somewhere in his 90s, so he still has a cool 50 years of life left. He set out as a sailor when he was 4 to grow up and make a man out of himself, and obviously succeeded. He's looked like an old man since he was 15 and hasn't really aged much since then.
Magikarp Mondays has developed time travel technology to question people in future.
In 20 years in the good future, Bill is still making a living as a pirate. He told us:
"I'd love to retire at some point, but I gotta get outta these alimony payments first."
Questioned on this 20 years later, he said:
"Retire? Me? Tell ya what, I'll retire if ye can beat me in a drinking contest, matey!" After a 3 day hangover, our reporter concluded that Bill is never going to retire.
20 years into the bad future, Bill was found in a nursing home. He told us:
"You gotta get me outta here! This dog belongs out to sea!"
When our reporter approached the nursing home 40 years in the future, Bill could be heard from a distance:
"Hey nurse~! Where is my pudding? My blanket is cold! Can you help me change the tv channel?"
In 20 years, good future Johnny is celebrating 10 years of marriage with the love of his life. While his two kids apply his blue war paint onto his face, he told his wife:
"One last score, baby, then I'll retire. I want to be here for the kids, after all."
When our reporter checked in 20 years later, Johnny had actually managed to retire after that last score. He leads a small inn and teaches the neighborhood urchins to fight. After years of peaceful living, even the large bruise on his face that he used to cover up with his war paint had healed.
"Honey, our youngest just called. She says she ran into Bill. The old man just doesn't change. Good thing I taught her to hold her liquor."
Bad Future Johnny will marry into a rich family in 20 years.
"Brathering? Why would you think I'd be from such a low class family? Have you been drinking? Come darling, let's forget about that prenup and elope."
20 years later, Johnny looks to have aged at least 40 years.
"No thanks, I don't drink, not since the weddi-, no, I've never been a drinker. I have blue blood, after all." he points to the blue bruise on his face.
"That carries certain expectations for conduct. Now excuse me, me and my father in law have to bulldoze an orphanage for our new golf course."
In 20 years in the good timeline, Yasashí appears to be in a constant state of sulong, his whole body completely white, but his eyes still green. With a confident smile, he told our reporter:
"We just liberated another country without fighting. I'm glad I get to do this."
20 years later, our reporter found Yasashí sleeping under an orange tree. His red fur had grayed out almost completely, and he was starting to get overgrown with moss. When woken up, he said:
"We achieved world peace, so now I'm just enjoying myself."
In 20 years in the bad future, Yasashí works for the Cipher Pol as an assassin. Red fur caked in blood gives him a scary, spiky appearance. He threatened our reporter:
"You're not my target, so you have ten seconds to get out of my way, or I'll rip you apart."
40 years in the bad future, our reporter had to arrange an interview through bribing Impel Down staff. Even heavily wrapped in chains, the prisoner managed to kill our reporter and three guards, so we have no record what he said.
The good timeline version of our reporter refused to visit any bad timelines, so at least he's doing good.
