Ergastulum is an unnamed community located in a mountainous and rural area of North Blue. Ergastulum was founded in the wake of the war. Ergastulum is divided into ten districts with the government neutral zone occupying the heart of the city. While Ergastulum is theoretically part of a larger country, the primary governing forces internally are the local mafia families and the guild.​

Is the user's ability to move at superhuman speeds, at about 100 meters in 4 to 5 seconds, almost looking like they teleported. She initiates this move by performing several quick foot movements to propel himself to another location, much like the Soru technique, except that the movements of his feet are more noticeable, suggesting that this ability is a rudimentary form of Soru.

Ergastulum once upon a time a isolation camp that later was at the epicentre of war then later civil war. That is how Ergastulum came to be. Following a period of unrest, Ergastulum enjoyed relative stability between the families and being dividened into ten districts with the government neutral zone occupying the heart of the city.

The Gangsters, Corsisca Family, Monroe Family, Cristiano Family & Paulklee Guild. These are the names of the mafia families that govern the ten districts. Each overlooking a specific district that they each govern.

Welcome to Egastulum, whereas this stories main characters were located in the 8th district. The home of where the Gangsters reside and govern.

We head into a room, though not any specific room. It was a gym with dumbells scattered about with rap music being blasted as a man would be breathing heavy with metal scraping and a little thud.

Joel: " How many reps was that? "

Who was this Joel, a member of the Gangsters. The blonde haired man with faded side and back. Wearing a black shirt and black tracksuit fleece bottoms with some designer name being on them and some nmd trainers. He was panting heavily as he grabbed onto some water bottle taking a huge gulp taking the water down.

Joel: " Lets try that from the top again "

Quite some time had passed since Hei's adventure at Clockwork Island. The encounter had made him stronger, he received a promotion to single star hunter, and he acquired a lifelong companion. However, this adventure was almost a personal one. For the first in his life, Hei had personally requested this contract, for it contained something of incredible value for the hunter. Something he had to acquire at all cost. Doni, his companion, was left with the Dream. To grow stronger and to set off on a solo mission of her own. It was an emotional goodbye, but one that was necessary for the two to grow.

Hei finally arrived at Ergastulum with a new contract to resolve. One of the Mafia families had requested the prestigious dream to get rid of the gangster group, for they did not have the same values as the other famigila members. They were a scorn on the streets of Ergastulum. And the time was finally here. Which family had requested the Dream's services was unknown. But quite some money was given to the dream for this mission and in turn they deliver with a single star hunter and one of their most valuable rising stars. Hei, codename Pierrot.

His source of information had directed him to this building, a gym of some sorts. Loud music was playing from within the building that could be heard from outside on the streets. Hei would look at the building and peered with his mind's eye at who roamed within. One would immediately stand out, energy and power radiating. This man's haki was formidable, but nothing that'd eclipse his own.

Hei equipped in an all dark combat styled clothing would prepare himself for what would undoubtably be combat. His saw cleaver holstered and folded on his lower back, his mace, the tonitrus was on his right hip and his new weapon the blade of mercy was on his left hip equally holstered. He'd unzip his jacket and took out a weird looking mask, while also partially showing a good deal of medicine that he carried. With the mask almost on his face, his eyes flashed red, signifying the end of his mantra scan, and he'd move towards the front door. His objective, finding the leader of the Gangsters and neutralizing him.

Ergastulum Part 2​

Welcome to district number 8, the home where the Gangsta's rule supreme. They are the law and peacemakers of the district. It was the early hours with birds chirping in the skies, small robins that would buzz around. We begin as we head inside a building that was very simple, a few couches that would be placed in the room, with a fan hovering from the cieling. A man would be seen holding a drink with two swords placed near his pelvis but still on the couch.

This man was none other than one of the co-founders of the Gangsta's paradise, none other than the infamous chain user Nicholas Brown. A light skinned lean yet muscular man, with short spiky black hair with bands brushed to the side with dark eyes. Wearing his black blazer that was unbuttoned above a grey shirt, and black trousers with a brown belt around his waist. His footwear is a pair of black boots which go underneath his trousers, and a tag that would be considered his treasure. Nicholas was one half of the handymen with Worwick who was away on jigolo duty.

Heading back to the gym, where Joel was pumping some iron. A bell would be heard as another customer, or so thought would arrive in the building. The man situated at the reception, would ask the man "Hi mate, do you have membership here?"

Ergastulum #2

The bell would ring as the door towards the gym opened up. Which prompted the man at the reception to greet its newest customer, however, a quick look at the man that entered would reveal he wasn't here to sign up for a membership. Clad in fully dark clothing and a strange pierrot-like mask would reveal everything the man at the reception would need to know. A peaceful outcome from this encounter would be highly unlikely. Hei in his right wielded one of his newest weapon, the blades of mercy. It was sharp and had an irregular design to it, giving it a design more for chopping than slicing.

Beneath Hei's mask, the man's eyes would flash red once again, targetting the one with the strongest aura in this building. Without uttering a word, he'd ignore the man behind the desk and moved forward towards his objective. He was here on a killing contract, the gangsters had to go. Or at least the higher ranked ones. The guy behind the desk was a nobody and thus of no concern to Hei. Should he chose to intervene, however, Hei would not hesitate to act.

If Joel was on the upper floors he'd move towards one of the stairs, but if he was on the first floor Hei would simply move towards him directly.

Ergastulum – Chapter 3​

In the floor below, a pitch-dark room coated with anti-sound foam decorated the place to absorb the music and groans of Joel from upstairs. A man would be sat down on a smoking a cigarette. It was a man dressed in denim clothing, black shoes and a head bandana with red and white stripes. He was sat taking a long-winded puff trying to create circles with the smoke, though to no avail. He simply paused reaching outwards to grab his staff that was placed on the bench he was sat on.

He then closed his eyes momentarily with the scent of nicotine allured around him lusting him to continue. Though he had to stop as he was placed on a rule by Worick, of no more than 5 a day.

Hausen: “Oh damn Worick and this 5 a day rule”​

He’d say begrudgingly as he was the one who agreed to the self-imposed rule after breaking a rule. His punishment for accidently striking another districts official, where Worick had to jump to his defence.

His self imposed pity wouldn’t last that long, with a man dressed in black hue donning a mask would arrive to the floor. He was armed as Hausen responded kindly, gripping onto his staff ready to take on the man before him.

Little did he know this very man was in a league above his paygrade.

Hausen would twirl the staff that would spin in his hand before gripping it over his shoulders and asking the man a question.

Hausen: “Just who do you think you are? …. Do you know pointing a weapon like that isn’t for show?”​

Just what was the man going to do next? After all, the saying is all actions have consequences maybe consequences are like karma. What goes around comes around.

Ergastulum #3

Hei stood at the ready. Having arrived into one of the rooms before challenging the one known as Joel. Before him stood one of the grunts within this organization. A young man known as Hausen. A quick look at his aura revealed to Hei that his haki was on a lower tier than his own. However, that wouldn't reveal everything this fighter had to offer. It'd only give Hei a rough outline of his physical stats. Hausen would equip his staff and gave it a few twirls before pointing it at the masked assailant. Demanding to know how this intruder was and if he knew that carrying such a weapon here wasn't for show. Hei responded in kind and pointed his weapon towards the young fighter as well.

"I am aware. You have been marked by the Hunter's dream. The gangsters time ends today."

Hei voiced, revealing that he was here to end their entire guild. And if Hausen was well versed within the political sphere of the underworld, he'd known of the hunter's dream. An infamous band of hunters, assassins and mercs. They'd do anything if the price was right. For they wielded no moral compass, only Berri would direct their services. The higher the amount given, the better individual he or she would receive for their contract. A contract is binding and cannot be overwritten, only the accomplishment of its task or the death of a hunter may render a contract null.

" Fear the old blood." Hei said as he crouched slightly while bringing his blade to his side before breathing in heavily.
"Darkness breathing: first form."

Hei said and quickly dashed off from his position, moving towards Hausen like a freight train. Upon reaching the required attacking distance, Hei would slash with his weapon towards the fighter's right shoulder, aiming to impede the young man from swinging his staff. Hei had chosen the right side of Hausen as he attempted to catch him by surprise and slip under the man's longer range. Should he get in this position before Hausen could react, he'd almost prevent a counter attack from the staff. It was great at long to mid-range, but poor when up against someone with a knife or a sword. It was too bulky and large to swing around swiftly in close range.

Hei's weapon would be aimed towards the man's right shoulder and slashed with deadly precision, a large and terrifying gash would be inflicted upon it. Should it strike its mark without opposition.

Ergastulum Chapter 4
​

Hausen paused with his eyes widening at the man’s response to his question. He pondered but he did recall noting about the Hunter’s dream. It was something he read or maybe it was something he overheard. The confidence in the man he was standing across was someone who was adamant in his approach.

He’d wait as he was dumbfounded but he brought himself back to his senses. Instead of concentrating on what he said but to concentrate on what was before him. He’d speak again about the fear the old blood. Those words held meaning and it hit him. He back tracked that why here and why now. Why are they hunting us? He became startled. Before he knew it the man dashed closing the range of use of the staff to the right of Hausen.

The aim of the man became apparent though it was barely registered with Hausen, who simply reacted out of instinct which was one step behind. Lowering his guard by used his arms as a self-defensive mechanism as the trajectory of the slash went from shoulder to his palm of his hand.

The palm of the hand would be cut with trickles of blood trickling down the weapon of Hei with droplets of blood on the floor of the centre of the two men. Hausen’s heart was in his mouth, letting out a sigh out of relief. He was glad his instinct bailed him out on this one.

He swung his hand back and took a step back with his eyes not being diverted away from Hei. He then performed an acrobatic wheel then pivoted as if twirling in mid-air and swinging his staff building momentum.

Ergastulum #4

Hausen was quick on the uptake despite Hei's faster movement speed, the kid gambled on his raw instincts to guide him at this moment. Changing the moment of impact from his shoulders to his hand had saved him from most likely losing control over his right arm. The hunter had just finished his dash and had come to a still, giving Hausen the opportunity for a counter, while the masked individual didn't have the right time frame to avoid and or follow up. This was true for a regular assailant, but unfortunately for Hausen he was up against a single star hunter of the dream. He was an established warrior and followed the young man's movements without difficulty. Hausen would see how the hunter would move his left hand onto his right, holding onto a handle of some kind. "Darkness breathing: Third form."

The strike from Hausen arrived and Hei replied as the grinding of metal accompanied his following shout. "Inner Storm!"

Hei's right hand would separate the blade into two halves, allowing him to strike with his right while his left held the other part of the weapon. From force to separate the attack, Hei would move into an attack, swinging with almost raw force which would translate into a strong concussive blast of wind.

The user unleashes a whirlwind by swinging their weapon strongly to the side, unleashing an outward expanding air blast. Sweeping those standing next to them off their feet./ C-Rank 31 mastery 31 str

Depending on the nature of the twirl, it would remain to be seen if Hausen could keep his stability after receiving the leftover force of this tatsumaki like swing. Hei, however, did not hesitate and kept up the pressure, moving towards Hausen. Both his blades were now drawn and the rate of attacks would move up drastically for the young warrior. It was sink or swim. Sadly for him, he was in a soundproof chamber. A cry for help would fall on deaf ears.

Ergastulum Chapter 5​

Just as Hausen’s attack will be built with momentum, the star hunter already was one up against him. With Hei swinging from his right upwards creating momentum of his own which was followed by a gust of wind, shadowing the attack. Hausen’s eyes would enlargen as the staff met with the sword with a metallic clang. Hausen from that moment knew he couldn’t halt the hunter, but would give his damn best in trying to do so. Though he did try in doing so, what would be the moment of no return was the fact the gust of wind would slice into his sleeves of his earlier scathed hand. The same hand out of instinct that was cut earlier.

What Hausen didn’t realise or notice was the fact the wind wasn’t supposed to harm him but flick him away in a circular twirl. He didn’t realise he got flicked away from the attack that would send him soaring slamming from floor to wall before he landed back onto his face. Hausen remained face down slowly lifting himself up, with further blood tricking from the hand and wrist with a small puddle forming. Staring at the hunter with his staff just a few yards from him, and a bruised eye from the landing. He stared at the direction of the hunter and pleaded

Hausen: “ I yield “​

Whilst Hausen was downstairs in the sound proof room, Joel who was still at the gym was still bench pressing. Suddenly he felt a chill of cold air, with the hairs on his forearms raised. He knew something was up, and utilised the use of Awareness Haki. He could feel Hausen’s spirit slowly fading and he was in a room with someone. Joel had temporary closed his eyes and jumped to his feet and made a beeline for the room.

Joel: “ Be alive you little prick “​

Meanwhile a few blocks away two ladies walked past a few shops on their earlier morning daily errands of shopping. They both had cigarettes as smoke could be seen clouding about and fading away.

Ergastulum #5

Hausen was swept off his feet and came crashing down hard onto the floor. Blood and a bruised eye were the results of this crash, and the young man put up his staff with a brave face, staring death in the face. Hei was now running towards the man at full speed and brought his two swords together in a cross, fuelling them with invisible haki. And with a deep breath, he took off, completely ignoring Hausen's surrender.

"Darkness breathing first form: Call of the void!"

A singular dash that allowed the Hunter to move at unimaginable speeds in one direction, moving past Hausen in the blink of an eye while also slashing him at his chest. Hei would reappear behind him and hoped that at this point the cross would appear. The wound was shocking and would paint the walls and ceiling as it'd spurt upwards. Hei's dual blades would drip to the ground with the blood of his, hopefully, first victim. The man would turn around, observing the young man's response and whether he was still alive or not.

"You've all been marked. Only oblivion satisfies the contract. May the echoes guide you and alleviate this misfortune that has been cast upon you."

The intense battle at now made Hei oblivious to the outside forces that were starting to move towards him.

Ergastulum Chapter 6​

All Hausen could hear was ringing in his ears that affected his bruised eye from opening, all he could do was yield in defeat. It was a bitter feeling for the arrogant Hausen, but to have driven him to this course was a feat from Hei. Despite the surrendering of the man, Hei took no heed and proceeded to finish him off, by slashing him in the chest. A confetti of sprayed blood flickered in the air with Hausen’s eyes going blank. He laid there defeated.

Result, Winner = Hei

Just as Hausen’s body would slam back down with a thud, a huge screech and rumbling could be heard making a beeline. For he had arrived, the henchmen of the Gangster’s, Joel.

He’d didn’t take heed of the bounty hunter at first, as Hausen was face first with a puddle of blood forming around his midsection. It would make the henchmen shed a slight tear as he wiped it away, then turned to Hei.

Joel: “I can’t overlook you taking him out. But what you said has me cautious. You mentioned being marked. Your not really part of that group aren’t you?”​

Joel asked him for what was his purpose before they would begin getting to the meat and potato of things to come.

Ergastulum #6

Hei's last slash was all that was needed to defeated Hausen. The young man's eyes went blank, and soon his body followed. With a thud, the young man finally laid knocked out on the ground, a pool of blood forming below him. Hei would straighten himself and turned around, only to find himself eye to eye with his next target, Joel.

Behind his mask, Hei's face was as stone cold as ever. He was getting closer to his main target, but his true objective was still far off. Joel, teary eyed over the defeat of his comrade, asked a single question, bottling his grief for the moment. Hei would mash his weapons back into a singular one before he'd holster it on his hip. At that moment, Joel would catch a glimpse of the amount of equipment this hunter carried. Hei switched his knives for a dark heavy mace. The Tonitrus if there was someone acquainted with named weapons. Now sitting firmly in his right hand, the hunter spoke.

"Yes. The Gangsters are marked. We of the Hunter's dream have received a contract to eliminate every single one of you. Where are Worwick and Nicholas? I'll make your death painless if you answer truthfully." Hei said, answering Joel's questions with nothing but the truth. A surprise for sure, but whether it'd answer the man's question remained to be seen.

One thing was sure though. Hei sought after the two head honchos in this group. But would he be able to reach them? That was the question.

Ergastulum Chapter 7​

News had gotten around to the other famigilia's that the Gangster's where under attack. So what the others did was simply out of instinct where the strong survive, by devouring the weak. The other famiglia's overheard rumours as word got around to them, they all took action by bargaining if not invading the gangster's paradise of their own territory.

In the southern suburbs of the 0th Street a sword could be heard sheathing and unsheathing who'd be seated, excited at what was happening.

Paulklee Guild's Bruno: "Things have just gotten interesting over there, whats Madame Paulklee's command. We attack or unite with them Gangsters."
Paulklee Guild's Chester: "Well its the Hunter's Dream after them, it's either we united against them or we go along with our plan to divide and conquer."

These words spoken weren't just from one famiglia or guild, it was either to unite or conquer. Though the conquering was undisclosed as each boss had their own means of conquering. However one had other means of conquering by uniting with an alliance to be formed with the gangsters and the corsica family. An alliance helped build to repel the Hunter's Dream. He'd make his way with two of his footmen/bodyguards each waving a white flag to summon for a meeting with the boss of the gangsters.

Back to the Gym/Sealed off Area with Hei and Joel~

"Yes. The Gangsters are marked. We of the Hunter's dream have received a contract to eliminate every single one of you. Where are Worwick and Nicholas? I'll make your death painless if you answer truthfully."

Joel listening to the man's reason behind the hunters mark was surprising yet bone chilling sensation he was having. It was something he least expected. He took a moment nervously replying back to him.

Joel: "I don't have the time to baby sit Worwick or Nicholas. I've been in the gym all day. If you wanted that answer, you could've asked Hausen. He's the one laying on the floor face first."

Joel would reply truthfully yet to the man it would seem sus as he had no knowledge of how the Gangsters are organised. Despite running their own area, they were really carefree. Not pretty normal for a group of this size and strong.

To the markets where Alex and Nina where~

The duo still in the marketplace was finishing their daily duties of shopping until a call could be heard as Alex answered. Who called would be revealed soon.

Alex: "Hello, Alex speaking ... What's happened? ... Who? ... The Hunters Dream? ... You mean that group are trespassing in our area? ... Shit at a time like this, it's just gonna cause chaos ... Fuck! "

News had gotten around that the Hunter's Dream were in town. Gangsters and the others became curious yet eager to see what would come out of this. Many faces hidden in the shadows as an all out war had started. Who was on who's side? was still a mystery, with everyone with their own agenda for what was transpiring.

Did Hei have this in mind? ... or was this out of his expectations? ...
