I'm not sure how Nika will develop in regards to the awakening in the manga with the 'time limit' but I think one should consider gear 5/awakening more as a last resort or go out with a bang sort of thing rather than continuously using it like the other gears.

Yea it's clear Cross only wants it for that gear, and that's not a good thing.

He also clearly wants it only for power, thinking it's gonna make him as strong as Luffy, etc., and none of that will be the case either. It also doesn't make you Joyboy.

So the only reason to get the fruit is if you actually like the Gomu Gomu up until gear 4... and gear 5 is just the cherry on top.

The funny thing is the system works by stacking gears. Gear 5 has a 5 turn use and cooldown. Gear 4 has a 3 turn use and cooldown. Gear 2/3 have a 3 turn use and cooldown. It’s a solid system, honestly

You could go Gear 5 for five turns. While waiting on it to cool-down for 5 turns, you can go Gear 4 for 3 turns and then Gear 2/3 for the remaining turns. Then, switch back to Gear 5. Sounds to me you can be in Gears all the time with 120 mastery.

With this you can go 10 total turns in a battle on Gear 5 and 5-6 turns on Gear 2/3/4. That’s 15 turns in Gears and 10 of those in Gear 5. If you can’t defeat someone in that timeframe with those abilities, you ain’t defeating them anyway.

Also, you’re basically immune to blunt damage. Lmao. Broken DF.

Gear 2 - 4 is really good too. I never pay attention of the fruit in this RP in regards to the boosts/rules if they exists. But I think having gears being more powerful over the rest but has a turn limit with reasonable cooldowns is pretty fun too.

Can't keep spamming gears nilly-willy without considerations and have to content with basic techniques.

Fruit has no immunity to blunts since everybody uses Haki. It’s why I tried to add things based on Dofla's reaction to G4.
G5 depletes the stamina. So retrograde would be nearly impossible. I dunno.
