" You know, you are a sick guy... I don't even know your name and I think I'm a little sad... You were an excellent fighter, and none of your teachings is going to be transmitted. The building is burning, you are going to die...
A scornful glare met the young man's jovial tone and laughter, the Jiangshi was admittedly perturbed by the man's unreadable shifts in personality. Song Wuji clenched his fists, causing the charred mud to fall from his dusty hands.
"FATE-ALTERER, HEAR ME:" The high priest exclaimed.
"I AM SLAIN, YET HERE I STAND." He grinned cockily once more.
"WHAT HOPE DO YOU HAVE?"
but I will let you know that you and your army have been the biggest hurdle I ever had to overcome.... With an army that strong and powerful, you could have ended the Leviathan but y'all choose to go after your own countrymen.... I'm going to end this, you deserved for me to show my best attack but I don't think I can survive if I match that output...." said the Vice-Admiral with his normal voice and bringing his hand together and them getting covered one last time by his phoenix flames. Instead of being blue and tainted by the orange, the opposite happened.
Song Wuji sneered at Shaarib's words. Clear to the Jiangshi's ancient mind, Shaarib did not understand the scope of the zombie lord's plan.
"YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING." With an arrogant, insulting tone he added:
"CAN YOU EVEN FATHOM WHAT THE MAIDEN'S SIGNFICANCE WAS? ASSUREDLY NOT."
And with that, Shaarib's hands burst into mystical flames and Song Wuji's eyes did the same in response.
Black lighting began to crackle around the arms as Shaarib opened his palms and formed a triangle with his hands. Energy began to accumulate and tried to keep the whole thing steady like he had done the previous time. It did not work, Shaarib's legs were not as firm as the last time, his arms were shaking violently. The braids on his head were flying in all directions. The Vice-Admiral could feel some of his life force leaving his body but he kept stocking it until it was ready to release. Shaarib let go of it and was expelled toward the back. He closed his eyes as he began to feel consciousness leaving his body. He sincerely hoped not to fall into the water. He could breathe in it, but could he survive the electricity surging through it ? He was already regretting his choice but it was the only way to pass through Wuji's haki. A closed attack could be dodged but not a ranged attack from the magnitude.
Putting to use his mastery of observation haki, Song Wuji whipped his body through the air as quickly as possible, attempting to avoid the incoming beam of unbridled destruction. The attack was fast, and the priest was too slow; despite pulling as far to the side of the incoming ray from the
Spirit Cultivation Gun, the priest left side was ripped away. Starting with his arm dematerializing, the radiance of the attack spread along his left-side torso before he spiraled to the ground, away from the attack. It was clear by the horrid noises belonging to Song Wuji, that he felt pain, unlike his subordinates.
No blood emerged from the priest's wound, possibly due to immediate cauterization or perhaps Song Wuji had no blood to give...
Shaarib, too, would fall. He would fall towards the water below, now far less dangerous than before. Should his eyes remain open long enough, they would see one final sight that would fill his heart with hopelessness: a one-armed, undead priest was standing already!
With head hung low, fiery eyes locked on the falling Shaarib; Song Wuji stared out the defeated marine: it would now only take a single blow to rid the world of this Skypiean's tendency to alter fate.
Song Wuji began moving forward towards Shaarib, now in the waters. The priest would electrify the water using his own methods, he would cook the phoenix man to death in the pool of his own creation. The Jiangshi was tempted to laugh, but his left lung was burnt away...
He approached nearer and nearer to the water; green, crackling electricity surging around his right arm.
"YOU KNEW NOTHING OF THIS LAND, FATE-ALTERER." He growled, forcing his hand near the surface of the water.
"BE THIS A WARNING AGAINST THE WORLDS BEYOND YOUR FATHOMNING, FOOL."
As the papery hand reached out to murder the floating Shaarib, the entire pool of water pulled away from his reach.
"HEH?" Reacted Song Wuji. He reached further, and the water pulled back even more.
"WHAT TRICKERY IS THIS, FATE-ALTERER?" His voice boomed towards the silent man...
...Then it dawned on on the Jiangshi; the spell that Shaarib had broken by killing Yuki...It had freed...
Her...
"NO!" He shouted, pulling his hand away from the water, electricity disappearing from his fingertips.
"YOU STAY AWAY FROM ME!" He shouted into the empty room, with the eerie response being that of a feminine giggle. Song Wuji, in a state of absolute panic, swiped at the air with his one arm.
"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, NONE OF YOU EVER DID!" He exclaimed desperately, further begging towards the empty and destroyed temple. A giggle met him once more.
"I AM THE HIGH PRI-" The voice fell away (almost) completely. In an instant the fire was actively plucked from his eyes, pulled out as if an invisible vacuum had ripped the green flame away with overwhelming suction.
"esssssssssssssst...." Song Wuji finished lifelessly, now with a voice truly matching his body. The green fire was gone now from the puppet-like body, Song Wuji was a true corpse...
The fire that seemed to be keeping him alive was playfully
dribbled into the ground like a basketball multiple times before being tossed into the water and being extinguished by a force, still invisible to all but the building itself.
The mysterious, feminine eyes of verdant green (cloaked in godly magic to remain unseen) fell upon the man in the water. Her eyes traced his form respectfully, noting him as her savior from Song Wuji's curse. With the death of Yuki, she (
Niang-Niang) had been freed and through her freedom she had finally finished the ancient threat to Chongqing.
The fires extinguished rapidly around the temple whilst charred, broken bits of wood began to lift and reassemble themselves as walls and ceilings; the temple was repairing herself.
Shaarib's chest inflated and deflated in the water... Niang-Niang smiled and nodded at the man.
The God Spirit giggled again before a beam of piercing white light launched into the dark clouds carpeting their world from above, breaking them and revealing the sun from behind them!
...
In the forest, our blond hero had his back to the cross. He had been trying to lift himself up but his lower body seemed to not budge. Nothing was happening as it should. Genjo was slowly getting submerged by the thought of his own death. Slowly but surely the water was rising, his legs were not responding because the water was already at his waist. His arms were numb, he did not know where he put his dial. He might have lose it during the brawl. He had nothing to defend himself with. Genjo was facing his death and the only troubled thought he had was that he hoped the water would get him before the Jiangshi. He did not want to end up like the souls trapped in this thing's belly. So he closed his eyes waiting for death when a fire lit in front of him and he opened his eyes : Vlad was here !
The monster, almost with a sense of victory, sliced down at Genjo: fully anticipating the sweet spilling of human blood. Instead, a sword's slicing met the monster's grasp and soon after, flames engulfed the entirety of the Jiangshi Devourer's arms. The monster, now ablaze, prepared to leap at the new assailant when:
The heavyset monster recoiled, as immediately its flesh would begin to turn to dust. It would let loose a hellish screech, one that could inspire fear in even a hardened warrior of the sea...And then in cue, a horrid chorus of again-dying zombies cried out alongside the one within sight of the two marines. The forest erupted with a unified cry of extinguishment. It seemed as though the night was truly over and the zombie scourge was dealt with.
As the enormous body burned away in front of Vlad and Genjo, it lashed out fruitlessly a few more times before it was lost to the sunbeams. It was gone, only two men and a grave remained.
For a moment, all was quiet in the clearing... In the distance, the commander's voice could be heard:
"This way, just a bit further now!" Rang out the voice, leading his new comrades to the scene...
