At the tips of each of his fingers, vapor began to concentrate. Water appeared and the little ball began to spin and each of them got covered by haki. The Skypiean did not need to move to use Haki. Half of the bullets went to meet with his previous attack while the other went to attack the Beast Jiangshi. Shaarib made sure not to target the monster's belly.
Shaarib, finding himself shackled by Song Wuji's dark magic had only one course of action to avoid his own attack; he would clash with his own ability with a stronger one. The Skypiean's hands rose up with all fingers extended, the haki-darkened water spiraling at his fingertips for a moment and then a new set of projectiles rocketed from Shaarib's hands. The two set of water bullets would meet in the air, letting out high-pitched squeals of highly heated liquid as they dissipated into the gloomy atmosphere.

When the threat of his own attack was neutralized, Shaarib focused the rest of his firepower on the Jiangshi Devourer. The lumbering beast was up now, it was shambling a bit, preparing to bounce at the vice-admiral when he was met with the water shots. The beast was too slow to wittingly dodge the attack, so instead it pushed through the damage; the creature was unfeeling and had no qualms with pushing its own form to the limit. As the bullets pierced around the upper torso and neck area of the Jiangshi a sound would begin to call out in a familiar chorus to Shaarib...

Kū (哭)- The beast passively begins emitting a horrible sound capable of rending those within earshot with the "Scared" status effect. The beast can still continue using other abilities while the screams continue :: The screams will not stopped until the beast is slain. DPR: n/a | Scared: affected is nauseated, has reduced observation Haki and finds it hard to concentrate on anything but the thing scaring them. lasts for 3-6 turns. Requires at least 71 mastery

The face of the monster had been shredded away too, but as Shaarib's technique would come to end he would be faced with a Jiangshi Devourer throwing itself at him; all while letting loose it's horrible song into the already intimidating environment. The beast's only claw swiped down at the top of Shaarib's head in a haphazardous manner.
Lièfèng (裂缝)- The beast brings a single claw down on its smaller opponent, slicing and crushing the skull of its opponent. DPR: A (61 Strength, 61 Chinese Kenpo)

As the beast continued to keep Shaarib's attention, the priest calmly revealed a small paper packet sealed with a bit of grey ribbon. The master Jiangshi unraveled the parcel to reveal a fine black powder. High Priest Song Wuji rubbed the sooty substance into his palms before a fire (of sorts). This fire was black and highly concentrated into a nearly perfect point. Song Wuji held the power in his palms for a time, the small fiery point slowly condensing more and more in his hands and then the small black point erupted into a green blaze (now hardly controlled in the Jiangshi's hand). The green flame in this instance represents the priest's use of Ryou haki.

The sneering priest looked at the two intertwined combatants and then released out a straight line of hellish energy in Shaarib's direction!

# Shaarib was able to survive the first onslaught. Being in a stationary position was terrible, the Jiangshi were going to come at him with worst attacks from now on. Unbeknownst to the priest and the beast, Shaarib was still trying to free out from his restraint. He could feel it coming undone. The writing on his body was slowly regressing and fading. Shaarib was free, he felt elated for a bit before the anger surged back on. He had to be cautious. Nonetheless, forewarned is forearmed, and the question now was how to respond to the magical powers of the green-eyed freak. The Vice-Admiral clenched and unclenched his hands, his eyes going back and forth. He was waiting for a move, his anger had forced him into a tunnel vision. His sole focus since entering the temple had been their leader. His mind completely erased everything that was superfluous. Which caused him not to act on the writings. Maybe it was because his mantra had not been enhanced enough. He had to focus on the rest. His mind had to be open and notice even an ant moving around.

- "..."

One breath in, one breath out. He wanted to get in the zone, he was so focused, drool was coming out of his mouth. The beast Joangshi lost his head and like the night before, began to release the sorrow of the souls he ate. Shaarib pat his pocket, he wanted to suppress all the sound coming from the beast. Unfortunately, he forgot his dial on the 3rd floor. He had two options, to pierce his ear drums or to create a sound loudn enough not to hear the pleas. Shaarib's mouth turned into a beak and he began singing. Two things happened at the same time. While the monster lunged at him, the room was illuminated by a green light. Shaarib could feel the Haki emanating from it. The priest was as pro-efficient as him in Armament. The old decrepit could use ryuo ! On the other side, the devourers jumped forward trying to cut the Skypiean. Bending like his body was made out of water, Shaarib hit the Jiangshi in its elbow, redirecting the move in another direction : Towards the beam.

Kami-E : "Pacifisme" :

2.If the user is 1 tier above in Reaction, in Mastery and STR : Can redirect the attack against the user. (2 turns cool down and only on ranged attack)
Shaarib's reaction (120) is above the Devourer's (81), they are on par STR wise (101 tier) so he can only redirect the attack

Shaarib knew the Jiagnshi wouldn't be able to stop this attack. He hoped at least that the beast would die from it. Not losing any bit, he pushed his palm forward releasing a small shockwave. Strong enough to protect Shaarib from the beam and any of the nefarious effects coming from it.

Shaarib continued like he had wanted to do moments ago. He jumped to the platform. Making sure not to get into contact with the floor. The Vice-Admiral kept bouncing in the air with Geppo. On his face smile smug smile, the man cracked his neck and spoke

- "It's time we met old man !" in on his hand, a water dial, which we a click of his hand, released all the water left into its tank. Shaarib did not care about the result of his attack. He wanted the priest to move and he wanted enough water around them, for him to be able to use his Fishman Karate without using a dial or the vapor in the air.

[Attack is

With the impending dual-threats impending, Shaarib was forced to react both quickly and defensively. The winged man reached out at the looming monstrosity's sickle-like claws, with great fluidity in his form, Shaarib moved forward whilst sliding carefully past the deadly blades. When in the optimal position, Shaarib redirected the frenzying beast into the oncoming beam.

On the other side, the devourers jumped forward trying to cut the Skypiean. Bending like his body was made out of water, Shaarib hit the Jiangshi in its elbow, redirecting the move in another direction : Towards the beam.
The beast, turned improperly to devour the incoming attack from its master was eviscerated atomically before the vice-admiral's very eyes. A cacophony of pained and fearful bellows escaped as the Devourer dematerialized into dark particulate. As the beam pushed forward through the monster, Shaarib stood firm with determination. The demonic green energy seared ever closer to Shaarb:

- " Palm Thrust ! "
The marine met the beam with a comparatively gentle blast to offset the remaining incoming power. The energy of Shaarib's palm thrust resisted a bit of the beam's power; allowing only minor residual energies to reach Shaarib's body.

Water erupted from Shaarib's sky shell, letting a cascade rain down from the sky; flooding the lower section of the room until the shell emptied itself. Shaarib had given himself water to work with for the time being. And sure enough, as per Vice-Admiral Shaarib's expectations, the master zombie moved in response to Shaarib's attack (though no harm would be presented to him due to Yuki's proximity).

"RISE." High Priest Song Wuji rose his arms and spiraled up into the dingy air with an unintended flourish of his dark magic, he matched Shaarib above the ground; he hovered above the captive woman, basking her empty expression in a vile green glow.

- " Be silent and keep going Commander, it's time we part ways. Don't turn back. It's the only favor I'm asking from you sir. Keep going, the Government and the City need your intel !" Genjo did let the dwarf an headstart before yelling at the beast Jiangshi.
Two marines, now standing in the clearing, with an army of the undead closing what now felt to be from all directions in the gloomy, foggy woods, looked to one another now. Genjo was appealing to Stein's since of duty to the World Government, but it was clear that the dwarf's heart was struggling with the idea of leaving behind his comrade in this crucial moment.

The dwarf, caught up in the suspense and anxiety of the moment, wouldn't notice the fresh mound of dirt that served as the resting ground for his friend. Instead, Stein only looked at Genjo. "I-" He fought down his Tontattan impulses and straightened his nervous face. "I understand, Sir." He said grimly with a small salute before skittering off at bizarre dwarven speed.

No sooner that Genjo could no longer make out the small body of the commander was it that the enormous crash of a landing Devourer grabbed ahold of the captain's attention. The vile breathing resonating from the stomach and face of the large zombie hastened in the presence of its prey; it let loose a nightmarish scream into the horrible, lingering night.

Genjo could see a fire hot enough to sear and melt away souls looming deep in the bowels of this creature. Despite being in the rough shape of a humanoid, it was a carnal being that lacked will and despite the many souls that seemed trapped within...The body itself was soulless.

The Jiangshi Devourer took to the air hastily, one hulking arm rose high into the air at the height on the bounce and then was brought down forcefully in an attempt to smash the small, human marine.

# Shaarib was still amazed by the occult powers of the priest. The man flew away when Shaarib got on the platform. The sneaky old man positioned himself just above Yuki. He knew about Shaarib’s adoration for destruction. By positionnement near her deliberately, the man knew none of the attacks that destroyed the temple would be launched toward him. He was a coward through and through. A feral grin appeared on the birdman’s face. The green freak could not run forever. Now that the beast Jiangshi bite the dust, they were finally alone…

- "… "

Shaarib knew he spoke too early when the priest threw his hand down and a pair of tentacles appeared from the water trying to seize the Skypiean. Shaarib went higher in the room and lighting began to sizzle in his hand. He was using his lighting dial. With a move of his left, a lightning ball went to crash into the tentacles and by proxy the water. With his other hand, Shaarib began to control some of the water. By moving his hands in circles, the water began to reciprocate it until it two rings interlapping around him. He made sure to not get in contact with it, fearing to get electrocuted. He extended his right arm, and one of the circles followed it. Arrows made of water began to target the priest. Each of them was strong enough to form a dent in a warship. Shaarib hoped to hit the Jiangshi and change area. The priest was in tip-top shape while Shaarib's body was still suffering from the drawbacks of Kallavan's baby. He had spent the night using hardening and to be honest, the remaining cold was still causing damage. Shaarib was resiting the urge to transform and level the place. He had to play his cards right and patiently wait to get the upper hand. Time was running against him because the Vivre's Card was still burning but if Shaarib precipitated himself, both would end up dead. The former wasn't ready to die yet. He had things to do on this plane. With the priests occult power, another problem was the ritual happening. If they tried to summon something and intended Yuki to act as a vessel, Shaarib will have to kill the woman. He was not ready to fight two of them.

Genjo dug his feets into the ground. He had no energy left and needed to buy the most time available for the betterment of their mission. The eat Jiangshi was roaring and coming at him. The numbness in his body was still present, it was in time like that he would wonder what would SHaarib do in this situation ? Since they knew each other, he had been jealous of his brother ever since they met. Both friends had the same age but what they accomplished had been diametrically opposed. Shaarib was to this day, the youngest Vice-Admiral in the force. Genjo was proud of his friend but he never understood how come they were so far from each other. Shaarib and the others always said to him, that he was talented but it was only when he arrived at Marineford that the blond finally understood what he lacked. Vice-Admiral Momomga said to be great you needed to be a freak. It was more than having a Devil Fruit, they were beasts in their own category. The veteran even concluded by saying something that changed Genjo completely. Momonga sid that if the captain kept comparing himself to Shaarib, he was never going to be great. Their body weren't the same, Shaarib could tank afftereefects like they never existed but him, he needed to be smarter than that. So Genjo trained, since he crew disbanded for Shaarib's vacations, he trained to perfect his Rokushiki mastery. To think out of the box and find new ways to use the attacks. As the the devourer approached, Genjo slowly raised his right hand in guard and began throwing jab with his left to measure the distance between them. One punch, two punches, on the third one, the Jiangshi was in distance. So he threw a punch to meet the claws and let go of a compressed Rokuogan

The phantasmal tentacles, moments from wrangling the airborne Skypiean, met with the crackling orb of electrical energy. The ghostly tendrils recoiled back violently before being overwhelmed by the power and succumbing to the electrocution. The tentacles sank away from their target and vanished into the shallow pool Shaarib had conjured forth from his dial.

After dispatching the priest's other-worldly assistance, he would move into his next action:

By moving his hands in circles, the water began to reciprocate it until it two rings interlapping around him. He made sure to not get in contact with it, fearing to get electrocuted. He extended his right arm, and one of the circles followed it. Arrows made of water began to target the priest. Each of them was strong enough to form a dent in a warship.

- "O Yabusame !"
The priest's eyes alit briefly with green fire as he tapped into his powers of precognition. In a fraction of a moment the priest analyzed the planned attack and released the same mystical powder into the air to intercept the water shots.

Mirror Powder
Description: A mysterious dust crafted utilizing deep knowledge in occult magics and twisted alchemies.
Reflects any projectile-based attack directly back at the attacker.
(Requirements for item-use (200) must meet or excess requirements for the attack being reflected or the powder will entirely fail)
Requires at least 100 Occult, 100 Alchemy
Requirements: 81 Mastery, 61 Strength
Destructive Potency Rank: A [Low Paralysis] ==> 4 + 2 + 3 ==> 9. Small Country Level
Though the priest would have preferred keeping the hostage in harm's way, his most powerful attacks were best used up close against his foes.
Song Wuji passed above the cloud, hovering about with ease, and launched towards his opponent alongside Shaarib's returning attack.

Whilst nearing Shaarib, the still-mouthed priest repeated himself: "FALL." He shot upward at the last moment, attempting to get a high ground over Shaarib Hassan. Then, with a leg engulfed of the green flames of the high priest's advanced armament haki, he spun forward and attempted to deliver a brutal downward heel kick to Shaarib's collarbone.

Flying Crane Stance: Frog Hunter (+Freeze) - The user from above their target brings their heel down onto their opponent's upper body.
Inflicts Deep Freeze:
Deep Freeze: frozen part hurts a lot and will become unusable if used twice while still under this effect, the user will take extra damage each turn (C rank). lasts for 3-6 turns. Requires at least 71 mastery

DPR: A (61 Strength, 81 Chinese Kenpo, 10 Occult)
81-100: 3. Large Building Level + 3 (DPR: A) + 3 (Haki) = 9. Small Country Level!!!

If Shaarib went to counter the priest, he would risk falling victim to his own attack.

If the attack were to make contact, Shaarib would feel an awful chill blast through his neck and chest; pulling the warm air from his lungs for a brief moment. It seemed the priest was intent perhaps on drowning Shaarib in his own water, perhaps just getting his opponent out of the air, or perhaps for another purpose...

...

Genjo slowly raised his right hand in guard and began throwing jab with his left to measure the distance between them. One punch, two punches, on the third one, the Jiangshi was in distance. So he threw a punch to meet the claws and let go of a compressed Rokuogan

- "RokuoganJugon / JugonRokuogan ! "

Genjo's technique met dead on with the deadly claws. Sparks jettisoned off as a shockwave pushed through the beast's arms and pushed the hulking body away a few feet. The boy's nearly frost-bitten arm would send a numbed signal of pain to Genjo's adrenaline-fueled mind. The body seemed unharmed by the clash overall and without wasting a single moment to the confusion, the devourer lunged forward once more; pushing its hulking upper-body with a single, vicious bounce towards the human.

Cōngmáng(匆忙)- The giant Jiangshi buckles its shoulder and launches itself forward into a catastrophically powerful flying tackle. DPR: A (61 Strength, 61 Speed, 41 Chinese Kenpo)
101-119: 6. City Block Level + 3 (DPR: A) = 7. Mountain Level!!

Genjo would be afforded no reprieve from the undead onslaught, the monster needn't think of the consequences of its attacks as Genjo did. A misstep could leave Genjo slashed to ribbons, or worse... While pain and death was nothing to the Jiangshi.

Shaarib shook his head in disbelief, the priest repelled his attack once again. Shaarib did not know how the man's powder worked. Maybe it was like the Magical Wall on the third floor or Shaarib needed to send a stronger attack. Either way, to confirm his suspicions, he had to verify them. The Skypiean spun on himself and used the second circle around him to attack. With his right hand, he directed the wave to the bullets and with the other, he shaped the water into a dragon with Haki. Usually, he would let the dragon fly by itself to its target but Shaarib jumped on the water and surfed on it, fully intending to meet the priest in the air.

The dragon opened its maw and gobbled the bullets one by one and flew to meet with the priest descending foot. When the flames collided with the dragon's head, the beast froze and lost it momentum. The kick began to tear through the beat and Shaarib, eyes wide, let his instincts took control. The Vice-Admiral transformed into his hybrid form and brightened the mood of the room. Before his feets got stuck in the ice, the marine jumped. With his right fist, fully coated in Ryuo he sent a punch surrounded by black lightning. Like with the previous punches he threw, SHaarib did not need his fist to connect, the punch stopped 30 cm before the kick and Shaarib tried to unleash hell on the old man. The shockwave would attack the priest internally and the black lighting would do the rest.

Genjo gritted his teeth together. His attack did not do any damage to the Jiangshi. The beast receded and came back with the same ferocity. The devourer had unlimited stamina while our hero was step away from death. He hoped Stein could run the best he could to Azure City. The marine inverted his position : Guard with the left and jab with the right. he once again began to measure up the distance between him and the devourer and went on to meet with the claws. The dragon opened its maw and gobbled the bullets one by one and flew to meet with the priest descending foot. When the flames collided with the dragon's head, the beast froze and lost it momentum.
The priest's foot crippled the oncoming water-based attack, fundamentally taking away Shaarib's control of the water by turning it solid. As the hydro-crafted serpent crumped the priest attempt to regather his momentum as Shaarib did the same (ever-so-slightly quicker). Song Wuji eyes, still aflame, squinted as he processed the result of his opponent's technique and threw his arms downward, in turn launching his body all the way to the ceiling, in a breakneck dodge to avoid Shaarib.
The priest's cocky grin was gone, the face glaring down at Shaarib was utterly serious now.
Whilst pressed against the ceiling of the first-floor room Song Wuji pressed his palms flat against the ceiling, causing a fiery pentagram alight with green flame to burst out from above him. As the priest moved out of the way of the newly emerging rift, a horrible creature emerged...
A creature comprised entirely of metal, an iron maiden with eyes aglow with an evil red tint. A numbers of chains lingers out from the body in all directions.
Dark Ritual Art: Major Summoning - The user summons forth a demonic creature; a user may have more than one entity tied to their summoning catalogue, but once an entity is killed (out-matched in three clashes) it cannot be used again in that combat.
The Imprisoned One (Major Summon Variation) - (Entomb) The iron-maiden body of The Imprisoned One launches chains out at her target (wrangling them) and then yanking them into the bladed interior of her body and slamming shut. (Cannot be infused with haki.) (100 Occult) DPR: S
81-100: 3. Large Building Level + 4 (DPR: S) = 7. Mountain Level!!
The demon's attention was drawn immediately to the Skypiean man. "ENTOMB THE INVADER." Murmured Song Wuji with insidious clarity. It would be no later than the words would escape the motionless face of the high priest that the horrid metal body would burst open into a downpour of chains. The irons links shot out towards Shaarib with intent to subdue him and yank him into the bladed interior of the body...Then shut him within...

While the iron monstrosity focused on the vice admiral, the high priest turned his attention to the young women tied to the crucifix at the center platform who had begun murmuring, seemingly beginning to fight her trance. The priest's focus on control over the maiden was being loosened as his focus was being pulled more and more towards the battle with Shaarib. As the priest's eyes locked onto Yuki's, her struggling eyes slackened and became subdued once more to the master zombie's will.

...

The marine inverted his position : Guard with the left and jab with the right. he once again began to measure up the distance between him and the devourer and went on to meet with the claws. Genjo would be able to push the monster again. He wanted to rush the Jiangshi, to attack but his feet were stuck. As soon as he planted his feet into the ground and stopped running, the numbness came back. This was bad news......
The quiet clearing was filled with an unhealthy aura of suspense as the captain fought back the undead monstrosity amidst the growing fog. The man carefully gauged the distance between the monster and himself...Before finally throwing out a punch with a shockwave accompanying it. The devourer's charge was halted, but once more the beast seemed mostly unharmed. This time the monster had been pushed less distance away so with no hesitation it swiped in at Genjo from both sides with a hellish cackle emerging from its torso.

Qiáo fū (樵夫)- The devourer swipes in from both directions, inward towards their target. The claws of the monster vibrate, causing horrible lacerations instead of the standard slashes they would otherwise leave. DPR: S (100 Strength, 1`00 Chinese Kenpo)

Shaarib Hassan had been the best in his field for over a decade. Really, he wasn’t but our hero wanted to believe it. He was the youngest ever to rise to his position. His colleagues and the public thought of him as an insubordinate youngster, the prodigal son they called him. Even with all the debacle around Shaarib, they respected him for one thing. The boy was strong, he did not possess the sharpest mind, he wasn’t as social as the others but what he had was keen instincts, and his ability to punch to death anything n his path. But since he set foot on this forsaken temple, Shaarib had been weirdly off. At first, he had been so submerged by anger that he struggled to solve the simplest of case, it took Genjo for him to realise how to solve the doors puzzle. Now his once-sharp instincts were beginning to feel dull. The priest was surprising him every turn. He could put on Kallavan’s attack or the fact that he had been running around for two days but it wasn’t it.

Shaarib isn’t to know what was happening not to put his finger on what was wrong. But he knew that one his best day, there wasn’t any way, he could not hit the priest dead on. He was doing everything he could to stay sharp, he had been managing his stamina. But no matter what he did, he just didn’t feel the same. His stamina wasn’t coming back. So now, he knew, he had nothing to lose. He was going to kill the priest with everything he had. It was a murder case, and as soon as would do it, he would sink the whole temple down. Dark Magic was bad, it would destroy the relationship they had with the country but Azure City did not need another threat like the zombies.

If the clues did not want to add up, he would create new ones, or just trust the years of experience his fists had. The blue fire roared and Shaarib lifted his knee high before throwing an high kick in the wind. Instead of a circular blade like most of the time when used Rankyaku, a literal blade made out of air appeared and went to cut the metal body coming to capture him.

The Vice-Admiral was charging at the priest like a missile. He stretched his claws the best he could, he was going to cut the damn green-eyed freak in two separate pieces. The Jiangshi lost the cocky smile he had on his face. He realized the Vice-Admiral wasn't for play play. The priest with his experienced Mantra, would not be able to evade forever. When Shaarib would get his hands on him. The fight would be over, and Shaarib hoped it was now.

He could have waited for the red-haired swordsman or even his grandfather ! He chose the blond and it would be a damn shame if Gemjo broke that trust. The beats pounced with his claws and tried to attack from two sides. Genjo would have to use his arms too. He did not want to get into contact with the claws but he had no either choice. Shaarib, slightly out speeding the maiden, sent a powerful flying slash at her with his haki-infused leg. The iron body rocked back and her chains went lax, allowing Shaarib an easy time dodging her grapple. A huge clear slash had been carved directly from the top of her "head" to the bottom of her body, yet she persisted with existence in the mortal realm with the vice admiral.

The birdman did not lose any time. He flew around trying to dodge some of the tendrils coming at him, Saarib prepared himself. In his right hand was a shell, the one he used to produce fire. Despite the priest actively peering into the future; his eyes still widened at the blazing, ferocious speed of the phoenix. The attack that Song Wuji was forming in his hands fizzled, he couldn't afford to clash with such an attack. Through his use of observation haki he was gifted with the sight of his body being demolished against the Fire Blitz's raw power.
In that moment he saw only one option, he relented the high ground to Shaarib and threw himself down to the water below, allowing The Imprisoned One to hopefully further weaken the raging Vice-Admiral.
Despite the time Song Wuji spent wearing down and observing Shaarib, this devil fruit that the Skypiean wielded granted him a powerful boon against the master Jiangshi.

The priest watched from below as the ball of flames crashed into the ceiling, revealing the room to the floor above, then the one above, then the magically darkened sky above. The blistering power of Shaarib's technique ripped away a huge portion of the temple, and with an eerie cry from the building's support, the entire building began caving in around itself coated in a combination of scorching hellfire and warming phoenix fire.
Full moments after Shaarib's collision passed before the sound of his attack shook the entirety of the island in a sonic-boom. Shaarib could hear Devourers in all directions, near and far, screech out in response to the sudden display of power.

As burning pieces of wood fell inward... The Imprisoned One's chains shot out through the flames after Shaarib's bird legs, once more seeking to pull the man in and trap him within her bladed form. Her metal face was expressionless, eyes still aglow with an evil energy, she enacted her master's continued will.

The beast's uncoordinated and bestial attacks were once more repelled by the much smaller opponent, Genjo. Bladed hands blew back from Genjo as the captain's fingers out-clashed the approaching damage, but the monster still loomed directly in front of the captain...It was practically unharmed still. Fiery red would fill Genjo's vision as the beast attempted to fall directly forward onto the marine, it was going to swallow the man into the endless void within its torso; effectively removing him from existence!

In the distance, another Devourer could be heard howling into the misty "night" sky, then another somewhere not too far off, then another in the distance, then another incredibly close to where Genjo stood fighting...
These monstrosities were prowling around everywhere!

If this night wasn't stopped, it could destroy the entirety of The Azure City.

Shaarib was not a lucky man, he was going to lose his jobs if not his life. Setting one floor on fire was a frightening experience, even if it happened somewhat by mistake. He made amend, and promised the temple to act better. So imagine realizing you did worst, aimed at someone and accidentally brushed past it and went to go through all the floor and even the roof. Before you know it, the whole building has caught on fire, and you're left looking at the damage. The first time you could put out the flames, but now you had done fucked up. So try to understand Shaarib, because it is what exactly happened to him.

The Vice-Admiral could have put a bet that he would hit the priest dead on. He was so sure, he used a lot of strength and energy. He had wanted to connect once and not regret it later. But from his viewpoint, he already regretted his choice. He was going so fast that he couldn’t even stop himself without injuring himself. The priest none only mastered ryuo but seemed to be a proficient mantra user. He could see the future. So Shaarib had to act accordingly. Smoke had begun to go upwards, the heat level around raised, the fire was spreading fast. The floors were soon going to fall on themselves. The Vice-Admiral could feel the cold air outside. It was then that he realized the second problem he had. He had been fighting for hours, morning was supposed to come. Instead, it was still night outside. From afar, he could hear the devourers. Smog was clouding the skies, the lugubre aura was spreading to Azure City.

It was then that he understood what was happening. Why the green-eyed didn’t come to meet nor why did he deliver Yuki to them. She was the main event. The ritual was about her, they were going to use her to freeze time. They were going to sacrifice the woman to permit the reign of the Jiangshi. Shaarib had been too slow. He wasn’t going to defeat the priest fast enough. The zombies were going to destroy the city, the horde was maybe already doing it. He couldn't even think about Genjo and Stein. Plausible deniability was needed here, he needed to believe everything was going alright for the duo. Doubt will only distract him, doubt would hinder their mission. And more time he would spent worrying, the more time the priest had to complete the ritual. Shaarib needed to put to stop to it. Even if he had to back on his own words, even if it meant betraying Li An. He would bear that burden alone.

- "I’m still ain't paid enough for this work..."

He was interrupted by the Imprisoned One, the torture machine that survived his last attack. Shaarib pointed his fire dial at it and released a tier made out of fire that went to crash into the summon. Shaarib flew to evade the collision and went back to ground floor. The priest had grown himself into the water. One of his blue wings separated itself from his body. The wing turned into a cloud of fire that spiraled to one of Shaarib's index. He flicked it and the large fireball went to Yuki.

Still above the temple, the heat and the smoke had formed a specific type of cloud. The ones that formed only during intense fire : A pyrocumulonimbus. The ones popular for causing dangerous lighting and tornadoes. Shaarib used his flame dial against the summon to increase the heat around. He was prepping himself against the Jiangshi and hoped he wasn't going to be fast enough to dodge this surprise.

He was interrupted by the Imprisoned One, the torture machine that survived his last attack. Shaarib pointed his fire dial at it and released a tier made out of fire that went to crash into the summon. Shaarib flew to evade the collision and went back to ground floor.
The blistering heat of the flames melted the faceplate of the female demon and part of her body, it was clear her form wouldn't be able to withstand another attack to those viewing. The Skypiean returned to the ground whilst dodging The Imprisoned One's writhing chains. The priest glowing eyes burned from below the water-surface, anticipating the fiery projectile from Shaarib, but...!
One of his blue wings separated itself from his body. The wing turned into a cloud of fire that spiraled to one of Shaarib's index. He flicked it and the large fireball went to Yuki.
The priest's eyes went wide, the marine had gone mad! He was assassinating the hostage before her purpose could be fulfilled, the priest couldn't allow that! He violently threw his arm towards Yuki and, in a mad rush of speed, the iron demon flew into the path of Shaarib's attack (being demolished in the process).

The priest was unsure if Shaarib had figured out her true purpose, but he couldn't allow him to alter the carefully constructed plans he had laid forth. Song Wuji leapt from the water, whilst smearing what appeared to be mud onto his hands...In truth it was the sooty powder he has used to enhance his abilities (only now saturated with sea water from the water dial).
The Jiangshi was unaware of any plans that Shaarib was laying out, he was too focused now on eliminating Shaarib Hassan before he broke the tether between Yuki and...her.

The priest held his hands together, seemingly holding an invisible sword. As the priest went to channel his evil magic through his alchemical powder (turned mud) it crackled violently due to the unexpected chemistry, green surges of electrical energy sizzled up Song Wuji's arms, ripping the flesh and revealing a sickly green glow beneath. This technique, was taking a toll on the user; finally through the horrid green surges of energy a green blade formed in the zombie's grasp.

The blade cycled between outpouring enormous green flames, condensing via the use of armament haki, and then 'round again. The newly opened wounds up the priests arms steamed as he brought the blade towards the Skypiean.

Dark Ritual Art: Cataclysm (Blade Form) - Using a secret combination of alchemical crafting ingredients (gone wrong, via introduction of sea water) to enhance the impending attack, the user creates an evil green blade of plasma-like energy. Shaarib's doubts were just confirmed, Yuki was the main component of the ritual. The priest went to defend her almost immediately, he even went to sacrifice his summon. If the Vice-Admiral wanted the sun to rise into the sky and save the city, he needed to kill Yuki. The priest came out of the water angry. It did not look like the one who welcomed SHaarib on the platform with a cocky smirk. Something did change with the zombie's appearance too, he was now covered in mud, it might have been prepping another of his ritual in the water under them. Shaarib needed to excercise cautiously. He did not want to be attacked by a chained woman nor tenctacles again.

Song Wuji held his hands together, concentrating on something between said finger. Green electricy began to sparkle and a green sowrd made of magic appeared from thin air. The lighting did not disappear and went on to destroy the skin of the decripit old man, revealing green light under it. The body was only a vessel. The energy emanating from the blade was not trivial, the blade had been fully coated with Ryuo. The second problem was that he couldn't use water agaisnt the pirest, the man was able to freeze it. Even with his powers, Shaarib was afraid of coming in contact with the blade. He had a trump he did not want to use but for his plan to succeded, he might have to show his hand. Shaarib swapped his dials and pointed it to the sky. Lighting began began to surge from his hand and a ray went to meet the cloud in the sky.

"YOU WILL DIE HERE!" The disconnected voice thundered. "I WILL CAST YOUR BODY AND SOUL INTO THE ETERNAL NIGHT!"
With his free hand, Shaarib went to meet the blade head on, black lighting more proeminent coming from said arm. Instead of meeting each other, the two were separated by an invisible wall. Even though the priest seemed to be an expert of haki. He did not show any signs of being one of the chosen. Since he came on this island, not once did he try to use to subdue the jiangshis to his will. He had hidden the fact until the last moment. They said that only the strongest of them all could infuse their punches with Conqueror's Haki. Shaarib only realized it during his second voyage to the Ryogu Kingdom. Then after his training on Karate Island, he had mastered it. The power boost it provided came with huge drawbacks so he always needed to stratigize before using it.

This is a very strong punch which is done at the same speed as Shigan, making it even more powerful.

The aftermath created a shockwave that caused both fighter to move away from the epicenter, the water began to shake under them. A loud noise came from the confrontation. Almost covering the rumbling cloud above their head. A grin appeared on SHaarib's covered face, his surprise was ready. The man's transformation came undone. The only sign of it, remained on the claws holding the lighting dial. He threw is arm down and a dragon made out of lighting twice as big as the one he sent on the horde followed. The cloud above them had charged it, the attack was big enough to cover the three actors, Shaarib too was going to be a casuality. The priests couldn't go into water, he was going to have to chosoe between himself and Yuki. The Vice-Admiral's arm turned metallic then black, covering them with the remnant Haki he had left and braced himself for the incoming damage.

The aftermath created a shockwave that caused both fighter to move away from the epicenter, the water began to shake under them. A loud noise came from the confrontation.
As the bodies separated from one another, the sword flickered with another violent burst of green fire. Being comprised of black magic and haki the blade remained in tact. Sworn to find his opponent's heart, the sword was pointed at Shaarib; Song Wuji was preparing to rush back in before:

The cloud above them had charged it, the attack was big enough to cover the three actors, Shaarib too was going to be a casuality. The priests couldn't go into water, he was going to have to choose between himself and Yuki. The Vice-Admiral's arm turned metallic then black, covering them with the remnant Haki he had left and braced himself for the incoming damage.

- " TAKE THAT BITCH ! DRAGOOON !"
In the dire moments before the storm erupted with draconic energy, the priest's evil eyes saw the dull flashes within the clouds. As heaven rained down, in the form of a great serpentine beast, the priest gave a forlorn look over to the doomed woman of Chongqing: Yuki. With the imminent death of his curse's host nearing, Song Wuji needed to instead focus on his own preservation. He brought his blade above his head as (one would a parasol) and forced the chaotic energy through his muddy hands into the blade. The tip of the blade flared out in a nasty inferno overhead, the green flames slammed into the electrical beast...

...But the shimmering blue energy pushed hard into the rivalling power and tamped it down like a wet finger to a match. The sword began shrinking away in the priest's hand; the feeling of the lightning was tickling Song Wuji's long dead fingertips as his cataclysm incarnate disintegrated.

Song Wuji scowled, allowing his armament hardening an attempt to overtake as much of his own body as possible before facing the inevitable wave of energy. Though the energy that the undead priest faced was weakened, the immediate effect was clear: the green, fiery eyes of the master zombie sputtered and smoked. The papery skin cloaking his skeletal figure darkened slightly as it crisped and burnt. In a bright flash his body was sent crashing into the stone upper-section.

Despite the carnage he had faced, the eyes remained burning...Strongly even. Song Wuji's will was seemingly indomitable...
Then his eyes shifted to the charred remains of a 'woman' no longer tethered to the ashes that once resembled a crucifix crafted of oak, now mere bones and ash piled unto itself. Yuki's beauty and being had been casted off in a roar of electrical heat and flame. A mere yard from a pile of ruined plans, the Jiangshi's eyes didn't express remorse in the loss, the sickly flames within Song Wuji's skull hummed with hatred alone.

"NO!" The voice shouted, crackling with the bite of thousands of volts. His mouth was now open, though it didn't move as he spoke; instead it leaked thin wisps of dark smoke. "YOU!"

The disconnected voice roared, shifting his attention to Shaarib Hassan, completely and fully, casting an accusation: "FATE-ALTERER!"
Song Wuji convulsed as he rose, alas he rose and expected Shaarib to the do the same if he was not already. With the hostage gone, Song Wuji's flaming eyes remained ever-locked and only on The Fallen Sky.

...

A ball made out of fire illuminated the night for a brief instant and the kid recovered his faith. Shaarib was fighting, he had trusted them, so Genjo could not throw the towel. Mustering all his strength, the blond hit the ground ten times and disappear.
The fiery maw on the beast stomach lurched out to erase the captain from the world, but through spirit-indomitable Genjo disappeared from death's path. Hollow breaths and quiet howls fell out from the ghoulish monstrosity as it turned in all directions to find its prey, sure enough:
A "thud" was heard when the marine fell against the mink's tomb. Genjo's legs were not responding anymore.

- "Shit ! Shit ! SHIIIT !" yelled the blond, using his arms to turn on his back
Captured in the eyeline of the zombie, Genjo found himself succumbing to the strains of this accursed night. The Jiangshi Devourer hastily leapt out towards the marine captain as soon as he was in sight; gnarly bladed hands swinging around, excited to meet their mark. Captain Genjo, looking up at the arriving monster, processed the incoming claws to be the same attack it has tried against him previously:

Qiáo fū (樵夫)- The devourer swipes in from both directions, inward towards their target. The claws of the monster vibrate, causing horrible lacerations instead of the standard slashes they would otherwise leave. DPR: S (100 Strength, 1`00 Chinese Kenpo)

Nearing the exit of the haunted forest and the entrance of Chongqing proper; the small blur of raw marine energy known as Stein moved along to the World Government embassy before making out a crew of men travelling into the forest. Without hesitance, Stein rocketed towards the assumed marines.
"THE CAPTAIN NEEDS YOUR AID!" Stein hollered. "YOU MUST FOLLOW ME!"
The whirlwind of tiny footfall turned around, waiting only long enough for the eyes to notice him and then hurrying back to where he had fled from, Stein wasn't going to lose anyone to the Jiangshi menace...Or so he mistakenly believed...

Shaarib was tired and had been dealing with the zombies for 2 nights straight. He had no more energy left in his body, he did not want to fight anymore, his eyelids were heavy. The adrenaline in his veins was fading, the strain he put on his body was showing. He wanted to let go but the mission was important. He needed to confirm that the mission was accomplished.

The lighting knocked him out for bit. He blanked out, his whole body was still having some spasms. Smoke was even coming from it. The smell coming from it could probably wake a corpse up. It woke the traumatized kid buried into Shaarib’s mind. The burn marks, the smell, it had been the same years ago when Enr attacked Skypiea. He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. Shaarib wasn’t in god’s palace. He wasn’t on the White Sea, he hadn’t been for years. The building was still burning, and the sun still hadn’t appeared. Job was not done, he let out a sigh. He needed to make a pact with his body, with the Goddess. He was in need of a little more energy. Just 5 minutes and he would set the record straight. He needed it, he had made some promises, he wasn’t able to meet one of them, but he was going to save this city. Then he would sleep. He needed to get on his feet first, Shaarib recalled something Gan Fall had said once : "Sometimes moving forward just a little bit is all it takes to break a vicious cycle. It need just be a small move; a larger step is not necessary."

Shaarib rose up, his legs trembling, shook his head and slowly scanned the room. What he had done was a really suicidal move but it worked. The priest had been in the same situation as him. He survived but lost his hostage in the change. Yuki had been reduced to fuming bones, the ritual was over. The eternal night was not going to happen. Yuki needed to be proud, her sacrifice saved the country.

Despite the carnage he had faced, the eyes remained burning...Strongly even. Song Wuji's will was seemingly indomitable...

Song Wuji convulsed as he rose, alas he rose and expected Shaarib to the do the same if he was not already. With the hostage gone, Song Wuji's flaming eyes remained ever-locked and only on The Fallen Sky.
Shaarib began laughing, this situation had been really ridiculous. The Vice-Admiral had overestimated his capacity and had underestimated the threat in front of him. Since he enrolled in the force, this might have been the first time he had been this hurt. Both fighters had underestimated the other and now they were facing each other again. They were both in bad condition. Song Wuji's old body was decaying.

- " You know, you are a sick guy... I don't even know your name and I think I'm a little sad... You were an excellent fighter, and none of your teachings is going to be transmitted. The building is burning, you are going to die...But I will let you know that you and your army have been the biggest hurdle I ever had to overcome.... With an army that strong and powerful, you could have ended the Leviathan but y'all choose to go after your own countrymen.... I'm going to end this, you deserved for me to show my best attack but I don't think I can survive if I match that output...." said the Vice-Admiral with his normal voice and bringing his hand together and them getting covered one last time by his phoenix flames. Instead of being blue and tainted by the orange, the opposite happened.

Black lighting began to crackle around the arms as Shaarib opened his palms and formed a triangle with his hands. Energy began to accumulate and tried to keep the whole thing steady like he had done the previous time. It did not work, Shaarib's legs were not as firm as the last time, his arms were shaking violently. The braids on his head were flying in all directions. The Vice-Admiral could feel some of his life force leaving his body but he kept stocking it until it was ready to release. Shaarib let go of it and was expelled toward the back. He closed his eyes as he began to feel consciousness leaving his body. He sincerely hoped not to fall into the water. He could breathe in it, but could he survive the electricity surging through it ? He was already regretting his choice but it was the only way to pass through Wuji's haki. A closed attack could be dodged but not a ranged attack from the magnitude.

Rokushiki Ogi: Kikoho (Six Styles Secret Skill: (気き功こう砲ほう Kikōhō, lit. "Spirit Cultivation Gun")
The ultimate version of the Rokuougan and by design Kallavan's ultimate technique within his Rokushiki mastery. A new 8th skill for those select individuals that have mastered both 6 versions, Rokuougan and unmatched mastery in armaments.

This technique is performed by gathering energy, forming a vaguely diamond-shaped "tunnel" with the hands by keeping the fingers on each hand together, overlapping the index finger on the one hand with the pinky of the other hand, and overlapping the thumbs. The object being focused on gets 'zoomed' in on and visualized inside that diamond through mantra, then the user shouts while releasing the large shock wave like beam from their hands. The application of the Rokuougan shockwave combined with the users extreme haki(120) allows for the energy to be burst forward into an attack of overwhelming proportions. Due to the intense application of haki this technique also inflicts damage on the user as it drains their spirit to life - threatening levels.

"HURRY MEN!"
The cloaked figures stopped on their track. In front of them stood the dwarf the boss and Genjo went to look after. The distress in the mink was noticeable, the one at the front, Troya advanced forward and crouched. He needed to be at eye-level with the commander. The dark-skinned man spoke with confidence and warmth.

- " The 169th is ready to follow, guide us through ! But do not worry, we have someone already in the forest. Have you not seen a red blur ?"

The marines looked at each other and went in the forest following the instructions of the dwarf.

In the forest, our blond hero had his back to the cross. He had been trying to lift himself up but his lower body seemed to not budge. Nothing was happening as it should. Genjo was slowly getting submerged by the thought of his own death. Slowly but surely the water was rising, his legs were not responding because the water was already at his waist. His arms were numb, he did not know where he put his dial. He might have lose it during the brawl. He had nothing to defend himself with. Genjo was facing his death and the only troubled thought he had was that he hoped the water would get him before the Jiangshi. He did not want to end up like the souls trapped in this thing's belly. So he closed his eyes waiting for death when a fire lit in front of him and he opened his eyes : Vlad was here !

- " You know, you are a sick guy... I don't even know your name and I think I'm a little sad... You were an excellent fighter, and none of your teachings is going to be transmitted. The building is burning, you are going to die...
A scornful glare met the young man's jovial tone and laughter, the Jiangshi was admittedly perturbed by the man's unreadable shifts in personality. Song Wuji clenched his fists, causing the charred mud to fall from his dusty hands. "FATE-ALTERER, HEAR ME:" The high priest exclaimed. "I AM SLAIN, YET HERE I STAND." He grinned cockily once more. "WHAT HOPE DO YOU HAVE?"

but I will let you know that you and your army have been the biggest hurdle I ever had to overcome....
Song Wuji sneered at Shaarib's words. Clear to the Jiangshi's ancient mind, Shaarib did not understand the scope of the zombie lord's plan. "YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING." With an arrogant, insulting tone he added: "CAN YOU EVEN FATHOM WHAT THE MAIDEN'S SIGNFICANCE WAS? ASSUREDLY NOT."
And with that, Shaarib's hands burst into mystical flames and Song Wuji's eyes did the same in response.

Putting to use his mastery of observation haki, Song Wuji whipped his body through the air as quickly as possible, attempting to avoid the incoming beam of unbridled destruction. The attack was fast, and the priest was too slow; despite pulling as far to the side of the incoming ray from the Spirit Cultivation Gun, the priest left side was ripped away. Starting with his arm dematerializing, the radiance of the attack spread along his left-side torso before he spiraled to the ground, away from the attack. It was clear by the horrid noises belonging to Song Wuji, that he felt pain, unlike his subordinates.

No blood emerged from the priest's wound, possibly due to immediate cauterization or perhaps Song Wuji had no blood to give...
Shaarib, too, would fall. He would fall towards the water below, now far less dangerous than before. Should his eyes remain open long enough, they would see one final sight that would fill his heart with hopelessness: a one-armed, undead priest was standing already!
With head hung low, fiery eyes locked on the falling Shaarib; Song Wuji stared out the defeated marine: it would now only take a single blow to rid the world of this Skypiean's tendency to alter fate.

Song Wuji began moving forward towards Shaarib, now in the waters. The priest would electrify the water using his own methods, he would cook the phoenix man to death in the pool of his own creation. The Jiangshi was tempted to laugh, but his left lung was burnt away...
He approached nearer and nearer to the water; green, crackling electricity surging around his right arm.
"YOU KNEW NOTHING OF THIS LAND, FATE-ALTERER." He growled, forcing his hand near the surface of the water. "BE THIS A WARNING AGAINST THE WORLDS BEYOND YOUR FATHOMNING, FOOL."

As the papery hand reached out to murder the floating Shaarib, the entire pool of water pulled away from his reach. "HEH?" Reacted Song Wuji. He reached further, and the water pulled back even more.

"WHAT TRICKERY IS THIS, FATE-ALTERER?" His voice boomed towards the silent man...
...Then it dawned on on the Jiangshi; the spell that Shaarib had broken by killing Yuki...It had freed...Her...

"NO!" He shouted, pulling his hand away from the water, electricity disappearing from his fingertips. "YOU STAY AWAY FROM ME!" He shouted into the empty room, with the eerie response being that of a feminine giggle. Song Wuji, in a state of absolute panic, swiped at the air with his one arm.

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, NONE OF YOU EVER DID!" He exclaimed desperately, further begging towards the empty and destroyed temple. A giggle met him once more.

"I AM THE HIGH PRI-" The voice fell away (almost) completely. In an instant the fire was actively plucked from his eyes, pulled out as if an invisible vacuum had ripped the green flame away with overwhelming suction. "esssssssssssssst...." Song Wuji finished lifelessly, now with a voice truly matching his body. The green fire was gone now from the puppet-like body, Song Wuji was a true corpse...
The fire that seemed to be keeping him alive was playfully dribbled into the ground like a basketball multiple times before being tossed into the water and being extinguished by a force, still invisible to all but the building itself.

The mysterious, feminine eyes of verdant green (cloaked in godly magic to remain unseen) fell upon the man in the water. Her eyes traced his form respectfully, noting him as her savior from Song Wuji's curse. With the death of Yuki, she (Niang-Niang) had been freed and through her freedom she had finally finished the ancient threat to Chongqing.
The fires extinguished rapidly around the temple whilst charred, broken bits of wood began to lift and reassemble themselves as walls and ceilings; the temple was repairing herself.

Shaarib's chest inflated and deflated in the water... Niang-Niang smiled and nodded at the man.
The God Spirit giggled again before a beam of piercing white light launched into the dark clouds carpeting their world from above, breaking them and revealing the sun from behind them!

...

So he closed his eyes waiting for death when a fire lit in front of him and he opened his eyes : Vlad was here !
The monster, almost with a sense of victory, sliced down at Genjo: fully anticipating the sweet spilling of human blood. Instead, a sword's slicing met the monster's grasp and soon after, flames engulfed the entirety of the Jiangshi Devourer's arms. The monster, now ablaze, prepared to leap at the new assailant when:

The heavyset monster recoiled, as immediately its flesh would begin to turn to dust. It would let loose a hellish screech, one that could inspire fear in even a hardened warrior of the sea...And then in cue, a horrid chorus of again-dying zombies cried out alongside the one within sight of the two marines. The forest erupted with a unified cry of extinguishment. It seemed as though the night was truly over and the zombie scourge was dealt with.

As the enormous body burned away in front of Vlad and Genjo, it lashed out fruitlessly a few more times before it was lost to the sunbeams. It was gone, only two men and a grave remained.

For a moment, all was quiet in the clearing... In the distance, the commander's voice could be heard: "This way, just a bit further now!" Rang out the voice, leading his new comrades to the scene...

Shaarib fired his beam and like he predicted, Son Wuji's haki did not permit him to flee. He tried to move away from the Spirit Gun but the majority of his body went away. Shaarib smiled as he saw the priest getting submerged in light. He had won the fight, he could go free now. The Goddess had respected his will. She gave him the strength to withstand once more the nefarious effects of the ultimate Rokushiki Attack. The birdman's arm were probably broken, his legs were jelly. Unlike the first time, instead of fighting the effects of having his life-force sucked away, Shaarib embraced it. He let go of all control he had over his body. The mission was over, soon his crew will find him at the bottom of the water. He deserved this rest. Son Wuji was dead ! The High-Priest was dead ! The old decrepit was de- ! SHaarib's thought were stopped immediately when the light faded.

"YOU KNEW NOTHING OF THIS LAND, FATE-ALTERER." He growled, forcing his hand near the surface of the water. "BE THIS A WARNING AGAINST THE WORLDS BEYOND YOUR FATHOMNING, FOOL."
Shaarib’s heart went ablaze, and he completely lost his breath...He had to fight his body to remain conscious as a knot began to grow in his belly. Angst was winning over his body. Shaarib was shaking uncontrollably, and if he wasn’t the proud man he was, you could have seen tears stream down his face. He was too prideful for that, he wasn’t going to give the priest this joy. Everything was overpowering to him, and he felt as though he were in a haze. It seemed like a great weight was weighing down on his already weak body as he kept thinking about all the ways he had failed. All the different choices he could have made. Maybe he could have tried another attack, a less critical one, but Shaarib always had a particular flair for dramatics.

Finally, after what felt like years of penitence, Shaarib felt his body hit the water, it was over. Before he closed his eyes, he could see the one-armed zombie ducking toward him. The Saga of Shaarib Hassan was now over. He died stupidly by electrocution. History would remember that it was he was just a child. A child that thought he always knew best. A prodigal son who decided to rush alone into a temple full of zombies. A child that ran off and got himself killed. A child that did not even once, accomplish what he ought to. He never freed Skypiea nor did he ever become an admiral of the force. At least Hajib would be happy, his soldier died on the job by saving the city. To die at eighteen wasn’t what he predicted, he was too young, he had not lived enough.. but he was dying in a fight, he was going to bathe in the Goddess’s glory. At least, he now knew that the saying : « It’s always the good ones who die first » was true. The best was going to die today…. It is what it is…

But as he felt his consciousness fade, Shaarib realized he wasn’t ready. He begged his body to move one last time, he tried to shake his head, to move every accessible muscle in his body ! He was screaming internally but it did not matter, his body was sinking and the priest was toying with him.

[...]

The world is still dark when Shaarib regained consciousness, he could not believe he was opening his eyes once more. He wore another of the fine made tunics made on Azure. He could still bandage on all of his body, some of them were damp, soaked in his blood and heavy on his skin. The air was light and welcoming, he wasn’t around the smog of the temple anymore, nor was he on the rumble of a building caught on fire. He was still burning tho. He could feel that some parts of him were on fire. Maybe it was another sign that he needed closure. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him. Shaarib got up with a jolt. He needed to know where he was. He needed to know what happened....Cause for all he knew, he could be in the Purgatory. His body was heavy, some muscles where still broken but te birdman did not care. His body began to illuminate and his flames begun to do their jobs. As soon as his body would heal the uneasiness, he would flee the room.

He could feel that some parts of him were on fire. Maybe it was another sign that he needed closure. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him. Shaarib got up with a jolt...

...As soon as his body would heal the uneasiness, he would flee the room.
Reborn from his ashes, the phoenix arose in a small, quiet infirmary within the marine embassy of The Azure City. Enough time had elapsed since Shaarib's duel against the high priest Song Wuji that it was now night again, though nobody sat along Shaarib's bedside as one might have expected. Healing fires of the phoenix were instinctively sprawling from Shaarib, lighting the room in its mystical, blue glow. The Fallen Sky rose from the cot he found himself on, adjusting to his recovering muscles.

The quiet sound of shuffling footfalls tickled Shaarib's ears as he moved for the unlocked, slightly-ajar door. Blue, fiery light shone upon the well-crafted door as Shaarib's dark-skinned hand reached to open it fully. Taking a few steps into the hall, it was as empty as in the room he awoke in...
The phoenix moved swiftly through the embassy until he reached the large central room with doors connecting to the outside world of Chongqing. Mina, the green-haired Lieutenant Commander was sleeping at the desk; her gentle eyes ringed with dark circles of tireless stress.

As Shaarib would consider his next course of action, his attention was drawn:
A small voice spoke, quiet enough not to wake Mina: "...How did Bo die, Vice-Admiral?" Asked a familiar voice in a somber tone, Stein's voice seemed ghostly to Shaarib now and his small frame was unseen to the phoenix.

Blue light flickered in the eerily dark room, it felt like a dream almost to the Skypiean...

Shaarib's wounds healed rapidly. He chose to heal only the worst of them, he had no time to loose. He undid the bandages around his head and began to palpate it. Using his hand to feel if anything had changed. He had some burn marks on his face but they were going to fade in the next seconds. He had too much burn marks already to had to the portfolio. What surprised him was that he no longer had an afro. They undid his head and cut everything besides the top. With no bandages, he could now feel it, he had a weird mohawk on his head. He might have injured his head when he fell into the water. Shaarib needed answers... He lost a fight and woke up at World Governments Embassy. The priest had been inches away, nobody could have saved him.... It was impossible... How did he survive ? He needed answers... He was going back there. He needed a confirmation that Wuji was dead ! Shaarib began to move through the embassy, he was steps away from the main door when he was called by someone. A faint whisper in the night.

A small voice spoke, quiet enough not to wake Mina: "...How did Bo die, Vice-Admiral?" Asked a familiar voice in a somber tone, Stein's voice seemed ghostly to Shaarib now and his small frame was unseen to the phoenix.
It was Stein, the dwarf that sent them on this incredible adventure. The dwarf, was still plagued by guilt. He asked the question without any detour so the least Shaarib owed to him was honesty.

- "Ma ma, Bo was the Ibex Mink right ?" said Shaarib stopping to search for the soldier" They crucified him on a cross... Mindless beats they were but they had quite a sense of theatrics... My flames as you can see.." began Shaarib by pointing at himself" supposedly are from a Phoenix... but they can't revive someone. He was a step away from death, we healed him, took the intel and gave him the sepulture he deserved. " SHaarib began to move away " You need to sleep soldier, we will have a better discussion tomorrow... I can't talk yet about Yuki, but we will... But let's keep our discussion a secret aight ? You never saw me."

The Vice-Admiral was out of the doors quickly but a presence beside him made him stop once again, Vlad.

- " Why am I not impressed? You are going to run after all this ?!" said Vlad, veins bulging on his forehead, he was angry, the red-haired walked and caught an handful of Shaarib's shirt, "Do you know how desperate the old man was ?! We only were able to makehim leave your side at nightfall ! You dumbass, you did not the state you were in..."

- "So tell me ! How did you find me !" yelled back the admiral
____[FLASHBACK]____
Genjo had never been so happy in his life to see the sun. They had been under the cloudy sky for too long The Jiangshi’s hold on the weather was no more. They had been in the dark and the mist for so long, it had felt like weeks. Hours, minutes and second felt the same, they were in the dark not knowing time had passed. They had been running for the Temple and the situation worsened.

When he left the capharnaum with Stein he had thought, day would come. He had been severely damaged by the magic of the zombies. But the eternal light ruined his prediction. Genjo went through all the emotions today. Joy, confusion, love, confusion again, sadness, disgust and finally despair. He had been instant away from joining his folks in paradise. And now he couldn’t thank God enough for the sun shining on his skin. At first, he had thought it was a dream, he had thought the heat from the burning Jiangshi had made him see things. But as he lay there, basking in the sun light, he found himself laughing hysterically. He was alive ! The numbness had left his body complete and Genjo felt like a new man. The sunshine had been a balm to his soul. He was alive ! The euphoria had made him forget about the rest, when the laughter stopped, he realized, the guardian had already left for the temple… What an asshole…
The mission had been accomplished…. The city was safe, and the swordsman did not even bother to help the blond to his feet…It took the marine some time but he got up and suddenly shame washed over him. He had forgotten about his brother in arm ! If the sky was clear ! It meant that Shaarib had succeed ! But where was the Vice-Admiral ? Was he even alive ? Usually after a victory, you could hear or feel it, it had been minutes since the day came back but where was the Brirdman ?!

Genjo tried to bounce forward but fell terribly on the ground ! He was back to square one, the sun had given hope but the 169th sun’s was missing and with it, Genjo lost consciousness failing to see his partners getting in the clearing.

___

Vlad was afraid, his rival was not in sight, the asshole had once again decide to go fight alone. It always been like that, since Cross Island. Shaarib had been tenacious, and always took the beating alone. The resilience was made me so special in the eye of Hajib.

The old man only had Shaarib’s name in his mouth. The other grandchildren could have done anything, everyone knew that in Habib’s heart, they were always going to be at second place. Even though the birdman was causing chaos on the sea and in the force. Most of them had chose to be close to the old man. Vlad was going o be the Goddess’s guardian for god sake ! But Hajib favourite was the the Skypiean. For all the love between the two, they were too prideful to make the first move.

Shaarib and Hajib had a row and Vlad was not going to let his grandparent live with regret. He needed to see Shaarib’s alive ! They needed to talk it through, to say their truth to each other. If the asshole lost his life in this brawl, Hajib would not survive it. Vlad needed his grandfather, and for that he had to save Shaarib… So he ran, he ran without stopping, without a once of care for his muscles, for his legs. He couldn't afford to lose any. From afar, could see the mayhem and the ruin the fire had wrought. The temple was barely standing and at the front gate, they were nos right of Shaarib.

His haki blazed and the little voice he perceived made his heart skip a beat ! The dumbass was at the bottom of a water body ! He was barely alive ! Vlad needed to act quick so despite his growing fears, he ran to room and took a dive into the water without missing a beat. He was going o save his little brother ! He was able to take him out of the water. The kid was breathing so Vlad threw him on the platform. That damn asshole… He owed Vlad a new sword…
Exhausted but relieved, Vlad sat on the ground, his heart pounding, looking at Shaarib. He knew what he had just accomplished. And if Hajib could see his grandchild once more, it was only because of Vlad. He had secured his place as the second favourite for eternity…

____[FLASHBACK]____
-"So you did not put the fire out ?! What about the priest ! " said Shaarib, now clutching the arms of Vlad desperately

-"You were alone... There wasn't no fire dumbass, what are you talking about ? Didn't you put the fire out with all of that sea water ?"said Vlad, now a little confused.

Shaarib's flames went to his arm and he pushed the red hair away. Something happened between the fight and the soldiers arrival, he needed to discover what happened. It was better than getting his hopes up about Hajib and how he supposedly was in shambles. The man turned into a bird and for the second time, illuminated the streets of Chongqing. SHaarib Hassan was going back to the Temple !

The small hidden figure frowned at the response, horrid emotions swelling in his thoughts. Silently, the Tontattan dwarf watched the vice-admiral exit the embassy. As the doors shut behind the marine, the green-haired woman stirred slightly. Commander Stein's tiny feet shuffled to the doors and listened to the impending conversation between Vlad and Shaarib...And as the heated chatter seemed to pass, Stein would too exit with the same destination plotted as Shaarib.

Shaarib's flames went to his arm and he pushed the red hair away. Something happened between the fight and the soldiers arrival, he needed to discover what happened. Phoenix took form, coating Shaarib's dark skin with glistening blue fire. His face contorted to match his fruit's spirit, as did his arms turn to fiery wings. Basking the quiet streets with his light, Shaarib broke the Chongqing curfew once more and streaked through the air back to the scene of his battle with the undead priest.

As Shaarib travelled closer to the ominous tree-line (that, even now, whispered ominously to the Skypiean), a small crowd of armored soldiers stood along Shaarib's radiantly illuminated path. "It is past the curfew, marine!" Shouted up a stern, slightly-accented voice. "Return to your embassy at once!"
It seemed that the Chongqing guard was now privy to Shaarib's insistence to break the laws of their land.

The troupe surrounding the man remained still, as they were incapable of meaningfully hitting a phoenix in the sky...But their commander, pointed his large sword up at Shaarib as a clear warning/threat. Should Shaarib attempt to bypass the ground-locked men and fly over the heads of the soldiers he would be met with two, back-to-back unnamed air-slashes thrown out by the commander's blade as warning shots, but still aimed dead-on.
Otherwise, the commander would remain statuesque in pose and stillness; merely awaiting the vice-admiral to follow instructions and return to the embassy.

Shaarib had been satisfied, Vlad chose to not follow him. Shaarib needed time, he wanted to be alone, to investigate the reason for his survival. The second reason he had was to gather the corpse of Yuki and bring it to An, the woman deserved to be with her family one last time. During his flight over the city, he looked at the city, the blue light morphing with the one coming from the lanterns. The city like the two previous nights, was quiet. You could have thought it had been deserted. But tonight, Shaarib could feel how clear the air was, how the smog radiation from the Jiangshi was not present anymore. He wasn't dreaming, they won the fight against the Eternal Night. They because Shaarib lost and someone else saved him... He was about to leave the CBD when a deep voice disrupted the calm.

The soldier even went to stop SHaarib with some air-slashes. He wanted to deter the marine, but SHaarib was a stubborn kid, always has been. The bird flew in the direction of the blades and hit each of them with his wings. The bird landed at the top of a nearby wall and with a slender voice, spoke :

- "Ma ma, the person that said that soldiers from Azure City were the most honorable lied..." The bird let out a chuckle "Don't you feel it the air ? Don't you trust your eyes and your ears anymore ?" continued the bird, moving his wings as he spoke "What is the point of curfew when there are no Jiangshi anymore ? " the bird's words were now full of viciousness " Oh ! You did not realise it ? The government saved the country yesterday, did y'all not perk why the night was longer than usual ? I don't care anyway, I have shit to do... so please keep your little swords away... I'm supposed to meet with his majesty soon, I want to look presentable..." He cackled once again " Even though, you are not the ones that would hurt the great Shaarib..." finished the bird

Shaarib had been sizing up the man with the greatsword since he landed. He had wanted to see if the man was experienced or not, he wanted to provoke him.
