For me it was DBZ, Gundam Wing, Shinzo, Digimon, Super Sentai shows. They never aired Yu yu hakusho, Inuyasha nor Kenshin here. I watched all of those, safe for Inuyasha, when I was a lot older.
Gundam is also aired here as well as Samurai X. For Inu and Naruto, I only got to see them during my early 20s. lol

They stopped airing a lot of anime here after DBZ. Wasn't a huge market here in the early 00s. Hell, they stopped airing DBZ after the cell games. For the longest time, I actually thought Gohan taking over was the actual ending of the show. My reaction when I discovered there was a whole 100 episodes or so left, lol.

I funnily enough got into the big 3 anime through a lot of AMVs that were all over the place on youtube.

Gundam never aired in my country so I haven't seen it yet. Kinda odd xD

My country only had Pokemon, Digimon, Yugioh, Beyblade (so now that I look at it, only anime that also had a physical product to it, like a trading card game, etc). That's it, in our language.

The rest was on German channels, those had Naruto, Inuyasha, Detective Conan.

Never had any Gundam, Bleach/One Piece, etc..

Peru, for example (since my wife is from there), mostly only had DB, Sailormoon and Saber Marionette lol. And Cardcaptor Sakura. lmao

KHR was a super cool concept and I really liked the anime (never read the manga). Wish it hadn't gotten scrapped.

Same with Toriko n.n
Some of the stuff that came after the anime was pretty cool. But I still despise the ending. It's one of the worst manga endings I've read in my entire life, lol.

Thinking back, I really can't understand how 12-year-old me enjoyed Gundam Wing lol. I rewachted it a few years ago. That show had A LOT more politics than I remember. I guess I only really captured them fighting :ROFLMAO:

it was the meant plot for Gohan but for some reason Akira stayed with Goku concept.

The reason I was not able to see Naruto, Inu, and Digimon was because Gundam, Yuyu, Slam Dunk, and many other animes were being aired on a different tv channel. I only get to see those when we finally got a DVD/VCD Component lmao. And the internet was not a thing way back then. My cousin and I had tons of hentai CDs decades back.

Licensing was really weird here. I only saw some 'mainstream' ones. But they also aired some not well known shows or at least from what I gathered. Not a lot of people know these shows. Shinzo/ Tekkaman(or the horrible Technoman localization) comes to mind.

I think, internet was first introduced to me when I was 17. Made YM and Friendster account and watches anime episodes in 3 segments in YT,

They call me the kid from the mountain side. lmao
I had internet at the age of 12ish I think... but I remember it was the old kind where you had to connect every time, and it was making some weird telephone noises for 20 seconds before finally connecting...

And then I could play the snake game. Where you go around eating stuff and becoming longer and longer, until eventually you're so long you can no longer avoid your head running into your own tail (small room) and you eat yourself and die. lmao

Bruh.... LOL

And it was paid by time, so I only got like 20 minutes or something. xD Since it was like being on the phone I guess, which were also not limitless calls back then. xD

Insane how much the world has changed in 20 years... wtf will be around 20, 30, 40 years from now, and we'll be alive to see it? Scary. xD

I never experienced too much of it. I only started using the PC when dial up modem was a thing of the past. Back then, I only watched TV and played on my Game Boy and PS1/2.

The chipped ps2 was the best... so many games that you didn't have to buy. xD

My best friend and I played Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 sooooooo much... like we were gods in that game. He played with gogeta super saiyan 4 and me with Broly. We mastered all of them, but those two were our mains.
We would play that for hours and hours every day, 1 v 1.

Later on we played a lot of Disgaea too.
