Also, if Toki and Oden really are alive that's a dickish time to reveal that. They could've used Oden in the initial assault on Kaido.
With Oden the scabbards might've defeated Kaido, or at least dealt more damage and endured longer. Then they would be alive when the supernovae arrived, and the chances for victory go up significantly.
Kaido doesn't lift the island, Zorro isn't needed on the roof and cleans up King and Queen, and in general massive amounts of death are averted.
Someone with access to time travel shouldn't have such terrible timing.

I posted this on a different forum so I decided to re-post it here.

the explanation of Toki's DF ability was very generic. Devil Fruits usually have multiple abilities or subcategories of one ability. The best example of this is Law's DF which has multiple abilities in one package, but if Law just said that his DF allows him to make operations/surgeries then we would never even guess that Law can use teleportation.
Based on that, I believe that Toki's DF ability is not the time travel but the time freezing ability. I don't think that Toki's DF allows you to jump in time otherwise you'd be able to travel back in time too, but Toki clearly said that traveling back is impossible. So, I believe, that Toki's primary DF ability is to freeze the time, which allows objects or humans to not age, which on its own, allows them to stay the same as they were before the time was frozen. Keeping that in mind, thecniquely it would be possible for Toki to freeze the time for Oden so that his process of dying would be stopped or slowed down. Then, Toki would heal Oden from his enjures and they would come up with some plan, I think so... but the most interesting part is here

Hitetsu said that he was waiting for someone, he's also a blacksmith, while Oden has new pair of blades with him. I wonder if this two things are connected to each other...

I really dont see point of bringing Oden back . I know few readers like him but Oden died in front of civil witness and dehypes all the evil measure kaido has taken so far.

If its really oden , Oda needs to give explanation , this will reinforce my idea that his writing quality has degraded post ts, this is D&D stuff and poor man version of Game of thrones. Hope Oda foes not destroy his reputation by bringing time fax plot because nothing is adding up that possiblh hints oden was secretly alive.

There is something more to yhis lore , if its spirit that scabbards can see it could be yokai . Eastern culture prays for well being of the dead one during aucation. Oden's soul has not been at rest so maybe he came back as uokai to haunt kaido.

I read this and looks like you don't accept explanations, and just want oden dead.

so basically

the guy who showed great endurance/survivable. for 3 whole days, in the freezing cold water, plus getting banged up by the rocks when leaving. etc

Hell even anime showed scene whitebeard using earthquake fruit to smash his skull..oden didn't even die from that where a normal person would.

oden being on par with roger and white beard strength. get's flung through through boulders/tree smashes right through oh look he bleeding..yeah totally died!!

at the execution they show a normal person, not someone like oden who can endure 3 whole days of abuse on his body/which he bleed to.

did we see oden shrivel up, no. it was kaido mistake giving oden 1 hr instead of of 3 days!!!

If you can tell me how Kaido survive a fall from sky island then maybe we can have this discussion about how Oden survive a boiling pot. Then again you can't so that is not really a solid point, you want Oden as dead as the villains in this arc. I do agree with you in that his death is important to the story but him being alive could be just as important. This man is strong enough to rival a bloody yonko, if you ask me this is a good set up for Luffy to gain a powerful ally for the final war. A PK level Luffy can 1 v 1 the FA but Luffy would still need allies to rival the other admirals.

Oda's writing pattern is repetitive, I wouldn't say its degraded. We have just seen the same formula rinse and repeated for years. What made certain things bad is I felt Oda started to please fanbase waay too much. Then again do we have a right to be upset if Oden is alive? Pell survive a point blank nuke that was meant to wipe out a country but people seem to forget shit like this is not the first time. Actually happy that happened so that when people say post time skip is this and that, you can look back at pre time skip and see the same shit in a different format; and that is what makes Oda a genius.

you see the bullet on the right side coming to oden. it's a straight line which is typical of bullet.

but see the left side, something from the back makes it way infront of oden, and it curves. it actually blocked the bullet!!! what ever that is looks like df power!?

also oden dodging, before bullet hits, and that thing going to the front of him taking the hit.

what ever it is, it still lingers in the same spot hovering instead of falling, and we can see oden go down, in the boiling pot scene.

and next seen he smiling, meaning he saw what it was. and also his body vanish soon after this incident as even the workers can't find his body. Also it looks like the scene is slowing down, time pausing by people slow reactions in mouth movement.


the one detail that missing, is tengu, toki gave him the swords. but we never saw oda show tengu and oden interact with each other. I remember oden father mention oden learn stonework skill. Maybe this clue oden meeting tengu and tengu teaching him in earlier childhood.

That last image, I don't get what makes you think he is sitting on fire, at the left at the skull you can see his leg behind the crematorium he's not actually on it. Also, to mention why would he even sit on the fire in the first place like even if he could, like he would just smother it out and then he wouldn't be able to cook his food lol.

yeah i know what you mean, meant sitting close. also i see him eat his food that boiled without blowing on it in the anime(even manga shows him eating it like that), showing he has endurance for high heat, plus he sitting close to the fire, and you can see him sweat by it.


also for my mention above, with that thing blocking the bullet.. might be kanjura drawing.. been thinking about this, though don't explain how his body vanish if count the time fruit porting him.

plus this scene, if he was really a traitor.. why is he crying..

i think this leans more to double agent, and if this is true he followed the plan, to look like a bad guy, till end.

last we see him he in the snow, covered by kinemon hat.

Kaido has kaoi kaoi no mi model , the fish scales protects hkm its resonable explanation.

What wouldn't explain is dead man being brought alive .

Pell surviving could be because of mythical zoan durability. Not saying it was terrible of course Pell should have been killed we might say he survived that blast courtesy of his df power.

How can oda explan a dead man boiled at the temprature of mini sun and say he is alright. Both of them are different scdnrio and the way oda writes death its always shown in epic way .

If the character is offscreen like Sabo then there is validity of doubt.

Also its true his writing quality has dipped , i criticized even back in older forum when he couldnt get develop decent plot fod Sanji's growth he randomly adds up raid suit . If he decides to write like tite kubo then i would just read for endgame of the series thats how i read bleach .

Please, don't compare sword handle design, they are all same, except for its guard shape, or its sheath design, all sword are just the same...

Oden is dead, the most reasonable answer is that one is Gyukimaru, he comes with Hiyori, and Hiyori ask him to turn into Oden so the Scabbards morale will increase....

Just watched Brago, and I absolutely agree with him, Oden's death is so perfect this way, after all his feats, his speech before his death, its just so absurd if he come back alive...

My only worry is Oda will fuck with Tokis time fruit and write awakening powers to send oden for brief time period and goes back to his timeline.

If he does that i might well be done with this manga thats for certain.

Clearly Kanjuro killed that man, as the guards thought he was an enemy. And that laughter is clearly a coming from the party going on, along with the "stomp tromp" on he right.

I edited the picture of odens headshot to show that is clearly blood coming out of his head (maybe even out of the back of his head), but i used an online editor and couldn't download the picture. And after i checked my download folder all my tabs were reloaded. So i lost my work. I am fuming right now.
To avoid getting rude due to anger, I'll keep this brief.
Nothing flies in and blocks the shot. Thats a blood squirt.
I'm not taking sides whether he's alive or not, but he did definitely get hurt. However, such a plot centric injury would definitely leave a scar.
