I don't see anything bad with advertising

But the thing is we don't lack much numbers

it's the way this forum is being too serious for members to post and engage in

we just need to make it more friendly and comfortable and less strict

Edit: If I am wrong and read the context wrong, okay. But it sounds to me that it's just here where it is not allowed.

This is basically it. You are allowed to talk about other communities (otherwise I can think of a few users who would be penalized lmao) but we prohibit hard advertizing and linking and I think anyone can distinguish between the two.

My suggestions:

1. Stop hiding "Clubs and Groups" in chitchat, put them in front
2. Change "Series Gallery" to "Manga and Anime"
   1. Add a subforum for the winner of "Vote the next Features series"
   2. Add a subforum for featured series for fresh series with rising fandom and series which are about to end having a fandom (go mainstream!)
      • Fresh: Boruto, Hachimaru, Black Clover, Dr Stone, Edens Zero,...
      • About to end: Nanatsu no Taizai, Promised Neverland, Dragon Ball,...
   3. Change Anime/Manga subforum to "Other Anime/Manga" for dead and noname series
   4. Add general spoiler thread for every Features series
3. Change "Official activities" to "Community activities" with
   1. Community Events
   2. Mafia
   3. Roleplay
   4. Forum Games

I would still try to avoid adding arena section.

Kick out the big Mafia and RP advertisement and rework the text.

Especially the linked Anime/Manga shouldn't lead to Manga/Anime subforum it should lead to Series Gallery. Right now visitors might think there isn't even a space to discuss One Piece or MHA.

Thanks for your suggestions! I like your ideas so far! It sounds like you want more structure in the forum which I think would help a lot with finding what to look for faster by giving more specific names.

The Clubs and Groups I also mentioned to for now separate them into their own respective sections so they gain more visibility.

Promotion on Reddit would also be nice, but that's in the hands of the Mods who wanted to keep this a Roleplay and Mafia Forum, so promoting it in manga... I get your point and I heavily agree, but the Mods have to agree to that.

A fact is that this will barely work out, forums in general are dying out and people will tend to use more Discord or Amino in future.

What always kept the forum alive was the popularity of One Piece and the interactions between the different gaming parties.
Adding new animes new subforums etc will just barely work and it is very hard to build it up.

You all should think about creating a big and active Discord community.

In the end allow people more freedom and reforge the mafia section, less quantity of games, more patience, more quality. That way new players are guaranteed to stay.

A forum in the end is for ACTIVITY and people prefer to chat on Discord, chatting is like talking in real life, no real activity.

Lastly interact with other communities, also discord communities, advertisment, get more feedbacks from outside too.

Okay guys. I know myself it is being promoted as Mafia and Roleplay Forum. The point I am making is that some of us would love the community to grow and have more people to talk about One Piece, which brought us all together in the first place. Nobody will come to this forum for Mafia or Roleplay, otherwise we would have new members.

Just because we give One Piece a heavier focus on the page, it doesn't mean making the forum OJ 2.0. Why do you always have to compare the forum to something that is gone? And only because some of you wanted to keep together the Mafia community, doesn't mean some of us don't want more discussion and activity. Why are you all against more activity and new people?

This is no slow start. The last few members joining us were bots. And people who register, don't stay and never log back in. Why? Because we are always the same people, without new content, and mods being against bringing forward new ideas. There is nothing going on here. Literally nothing.

I will answer more people later.

It's not just slow patch , soon mafia would stop functioning due to low activity

I aint against the suggestions at all but like i said here:

The point is we can't grow relaying on RP and Mafia.
Check when last member joined the forum , and who (ex OJ member)

I'm not saying we should sideline RP and Mafia , which is soul of this forum...
But Mafia and Anime/Manga section can run together (in parallel)

Add One Piece Tab in "Home" along with RP and Mafia

It's kinda bland and too serious for a forum (deleting harmless posts cuz it's consideredd not informative enough or cuz it's off topic)

That's why we suggested having more relaxed discussions , not everyone here for deep talks , I mean we can do both but feels like there are restrictions

I never said that I want Thriller Bark to be OJ 2.0 I just want a place where people care about the forum and want it to grow and not stick to something that is lacking activity and engagement. So far no actual big changes were made since the beginning, we don't get new members but hold onto the few people that we have only and have trouble keeping things up. Besides mafia and roleplay most of the other threads and subforums are as good as silent and dead, which is a shame when you're actually interested in one of the other discussions but there is not many to talk to. And seeing the OP subforum being last active two or three days ago is a bit painful.

Right. We don't want Mafia and Roleplay to be deleted or put aside and ignored. But we just want to bring more attention to One Piece and the whole manga/anime section so we have a higher chance of getting to know new people, engage more into discussion, share more thoughts and have a good time together with new people.

Right, sometimes it feels a bit stiff and serious, as if the fun is sort of restricted. My posts never got deleted but I feel that I really need to think about what I write instead of just having a good time.
