Even mafia and overall anything that people have passion for can lead to toxic environment. Doesn't necessarily mean it will always lead to it and if it does lead you can take measures against it.Both lead often lead to toxic fanboying.
But shipping is kinda childish and its nothing else than "playing around".
And this is pointless to say. Just because you don't care about something doesn't mean others don't care too.I neither care about "shipping"- nor about "powerlvl"-discussions.
Imagine if everyone came here and said - i don't care what others want and therefor i won't think for the desire of others.
Same can be said for something both of you like, would you then feel it was fair to you? No ofc not, so why would it feel fair to people that want things you don't want?
It really doesn't push any healthy discussion forward.
You can't force anyone to do anything.Like increasing the mafia games quality by enforcing activity
What you can do is issue penalties or sub them out - both are used
I personally think players are too obsessed with activity in games, mostly at the ending.
In most cases i saw at the end of games there will always be less activity. Pretty much all players are known, you know whats going on and there really ain't much to say except going in circles.
I always warn hosts about that - bcs most hosts that i do recommend that to are players that once complained about. But once you experience the other side of the spectrum you realize some stuff.
Plus some games just don't have that much to talk about and that's fine. Sure beats sitting at the pc for hours forcing convos.
Plus people have shit to do IRL , and if someone is inactive they replaced - legit every game
You say we should promote patience? Well there's your chance to promote it
I can guarantee you not one games is skipped unless the host in question can't host it at that timeA wishy washy calender that skips games.
I don't know about other sections but i cracked down on this a lot. Reg currently has 4 games i think and they are all checked ready to goToo many people wanting to host and this leads to people trying to get sign ups filled asap for the sake of it.
oh yeah, you need to kickstart some ideas with money, that is true, that's why we Patreons are here
